Description:
While the Stalwart-class had been intended as a modern successor to the Defender-class Light Corvette of the Old Republic, the Protector-class Armored Transport was a much more modern rendition of the ship class. The Protector-class featured a much more similar profile but with more refined edges and shape to the body. A pair of large engines gave the Protector-class good speed, but not particularly good cornering ability. Meanwhile a pair of a pair of Quad Heavy Laser Cannons were mounted on either side of the command bridge. It also featured port and starboard docking rings, along with an Escape Pod in the top of the vessel.
The Protector-class was capable of carrying 5 Passengers/Crew with accompanying space for several speederbikes/landspeeders/recon craft and supplies for several weeks. Training Rooms, a basic med bay, communications room, and a variety of other amenities allowed the Protector-class to act as a home-away-from-home or a mobile operations outpost.
