The Most Dangerous Games
Principal Authors: Viggo Grimborn Who can post on this thread: Anyone I will be using standard Universe rules here (e.g., canon-only, fleet limits, etc.): Y
Location: Across the galaxy
With the rise of new contracts and business ventures, Viggo and his band of beast hunters traverse the stars to worlds fantastical and dangerous in search of the most exotic and threatening of creatures. Be it for the credits or the simple thrill of teetering the line of life and death, no prize is too small and no risk too big to fill that which each hunter most craves.
(This will be place to write out Viggo's hunts on worlds that don't have a forum instead of just posting in the open space thread. If you wish to write something among these worlds, message me and see what excitement we can create.

Carnelion IV: Open Orbit
Emerging in a bolt from hyperspace, the Shellfire brought its pace to a slow as it made its approach towards the icy world. Over the past few days, the crew had been studying not only their intended prey, but other beasts that wandered the world in case something caught their attention as a worthwhile prize. They could then sell them to the Famine Lord. In the case he didn't want them, or elected not to pay as its wasn't apart of the agreement, they'd make wonderful auction pieces. But before that, they had to make it planet side, a task that wasn't as simply as just landing.
Viggo stood on the bridge, his gaze set upon the white-blue world. HIs daughters stood on either side of him as they, too, took in the sight. Their quick studies of the world told them much. For one, it was an icy world and one that held a sea of toxic gas that the population once spread over its war torn ruins. That and their endless war meant outsiders were rarely seen. Which was good. They'd be able to easily sneak in and capture their prey with the cloaking device. Warmer gear and gas masks were also going to be required for this hunt. However, before they could do any of that, there was one final things standing in their way: a debris field. Still, of all things, this was the least concerning. Having learned of this ahead of time, they had arrived a distance out to be safe from any impacts. Now it was just a matter of clearing the road.
Turning from the viewpoint, he moved to the droids and gave his orders. "Increase power to the forward shields as well as the port and starboard ones. Next, clear us a path through the debris field so we can move. Slowly and steady. I don't want us risking any damage because we rushed."
Acknowledging the orders, the droids passed on word to the other droid crews as Viggo returned to gaze upon the field and their progress. The ship seemed to slow to a crawl as energy was redirected from the engines and the hyperdrive for the shields and guns. Suddenly, a large volley of turbolaser and laser fire rained into the field, evaporating the majority of the heavy debris. Soon after, the large volley ceased as shot became more focused and spread apart, targeting the now spread out field. Inch by creeping inch did they move, ensuring they got at least most of the debris. Anything they missed would be deflected by the shields.
What made a great hunter wasn't just the thrill of battle or even skill. It was knowledge. Before seeking their prey, they needed to know them and understand them to a degree. But that didn't just mean the creatures themselves. It meant knowing their own prey, the environment, the world itself. Otherwise, one just set themselves up for slaughter. He wouldn't allow such failings and their reputation to falter. They would be successful on this hunt with little in the way of a scratch.

Carnelion IV: Open Orbit
The hour spent pushing their way through the debris field was a tedious venture, to be sure. Yet, it was but a small annoyance in the scheme of things, the prize that awaited them being far worth agonizing wait. But it wasn't simply the prize, the his crew anticipation, slowly growing with each passing moment as the world grew closer and the debris filtering away bit by bit. This was not an easily traversed world, so certainly not one that had been considered up until now. Viggo had studied the many worlds and had made a list where they would venture and where they wouldn't. Despite their cloak, some worlds were just too populated with Jedi, Sith, or any do-gooders that they'd be noticed the moment the started hunting. It did cause a hit to his bottom line in the form of missed prizes that very few had the privilege of claiming. The planetary approach had kept them away up until now and possibly had it been a simple one time request from a simpleton drug lord. But it wasn't just a payday, but a business venture that awaited them that ultimately would grant far greater riches down the road. And that, he intended to collect.
It wasn't much longer before the droids looking over the scanner verified that they had cleared the field. A few bits of rock and metal had impacted the shields, but otherwise they had passed through unscathed. A grin growing upon his face, he turned to the droids.
"Excellent. Activate the cloaking device and descend to the planet. Stop just above the Celadon Sea."
Upon receiving acknowledgement, Viggo departed the bridge, his daughters in tow. It was time to get to the hangar and changed into their gear alongside his men.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
As the Shellfire began its decent, Viggo and his daughters joined the crew in the cargo hold. Already where they dressed in gear appropriate for such cold weather as well as a breathing mask to ensure none of the poisonous cloud was consumed as they descended further into the sea. Some were even prepped in mag boots to better ensure they could ride outside a few air speeders they picked up. Within the cargo bay, they now possessed three Guardian-class patrol ships and three EasyRide Air speeders. Normally, these were stored away on another world in case they needed them, the place they could call home when the ship needed to return planet side for repairs and refuel. Considering what his studies spoke of the terrain, the massive Acclamator would need to remain above the clouds less they crash into the hidden mountains beneath.
It wasn't too long before he received word that they and reached their destination. He had already assigned men to each of their ships and their roles, he and his daughters taking up residence within one of the EasyRides. Fishers were good for attacking airships so the point was to play the bait and make them come to them. If they were lucky, they'd get not only their haul, but pick up some hammer-head beasts that were used as mounts. And so, with the acknowledgement given, order to out the cargo bay were given, the six vessels departing the moment they were clear.
Descending into the fog, they moved slowly, making sure that they were noticed. What made it easier was the fact that the patrol ships carried lifeform scanner and probescopes. Nothing would be sneaking up on them. Most of the fighting would be on the hull of these vessels to which they could carry twelve prisoners each. And so they waited, moving about the gaseous murk awaiting for the trap to be sprung.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
The agony was palpable, having to simple wait for their prey. This was new and with the payday, they couldn't afford to rush and be the hunter like usual. Maybe someday, but first, they had to succeed in this first hunt. Fortunately, after no more than half and hour of just sitting their idly, the team got a chime from one of the Predator pilots.
We have a hit on our radar. Lifeforms detected and closing quick.
Confirmed on our radar as well. Detecting fifteen dual signatures. No doubt mounted. Coming up from the rear.
Viggo's smirk grew knowing their prey was upon them. Truly, there was no telling which of their prey was coming, but if they were getting double signatures, they'd most likely be the Fishers.
Alright, gentlemen. You heard our friends. Face the rear and prepare to bring them done. No mercy to our foe, for they will show us none. EasyRiders, as soon as our prey emerges, bring the speeders around and aid our fellows on the Predators. Let's keep it tight, people.
Standing ready, the hunters watched as the Fishers emerged from the clouds of poison upon their mounts and began their assault. Little did they realize just how ready Viggo's team was. First up were the hunter with rifles. Set to stun, these fired the first shots at the Fishers would came at them. Without hesitation, stun bolts flew up at the fiends, one impacting a rider on one mount, causing him to fall from his place, landing on the hull of the airspeeder as his mount tried to scurry away though another hunter got a clean shot while it was disoriented, bringing it down as well. A third shot impacted another mount, forcing the Fisher to jump before hitting the ground, giving him the chance to run at the hunters on foot, only to get hit from behind as Astrid leapt from her speeder with the Force, landing a kick to the shoulder blades of the creature. It made the Fisher stumble before tumbling to the ground, giving her the chance to pin it and get stun binders on its arms and legs. Overall, the first assault prove fruitful with three Fishers caught and two hammer-head beasts, one being able to get away. An unfortunately loss, but far from a hit to their bottom line. After all, they were the extras.
Three was a good number, but the remaining fishers altered their approach, flying around and under the vessel in attempt to catch the hunters off guard. Stun rifles would only work if they wanted them to drop, but not in terms of capture. But Viggo's men were still prepared. Six mounted net guns were on each of the Predators with other hunters having portable net guns. All were loaded with stun nets, though only the mounted ones launched with a rope to ensure they could haul their prey in after capture. No matter as it was assured that they'd all get the chance to capture something as they made their attacks.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
It was far from an easy task, bringing down the remaining Fishers they required with just the net launchers. After the initial assault and a couple more Fishers and beasts wrapped up in the nets, their prey had finally adjusted to their tactics and were prepared. While not the smartest of creatures, they had enough intelligence in how to counter and anticipate. Which was fine. Easy wasn't what the hunters craved. The more challenging, the better. As the native beasts grew more aware, the senses of Viggo's men grew sharper. It was a lovely game of chess.
Some had noticed the lack of weapons from the EasyRiders and chose to attack them. Kareena, preparing herself in the Force, leapt up onto a passing mount and placed herself behind the Fisher commanding the beast. From her back, she removed her axe, the hilt splitting and spinning around to turn it into double ended staff. As such, she brought it around and pulled at the Fisher's neck, forcing him to pilot the hammer head out of control. She moved herself around to force the pilot to manuever the way she wanted, forcing it the crash and skin mostly unharmed on the deck of one of the Predators. Using the momentum of the impact, she jumped and flipped over the creature, turning to give a hard kick to its face, enough to render it unconscious. A net was quickly launched over it by a near by hunter to secure.
Six Fishers and four Hammer head beasts. So far, things were going well.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
Everything continued smoothly for the most part. Sacrifices had to be made along the way, meaning they had to work a bit longer, but the Fishers were starting to become more frienzied and aggressive. These mutants were sentient, so much one could consider this slave trade over beast hunting, yet their intelligence lacked any real common sense or reasoning. The hunters had come prepared and were dominating, yet the Fishers refused to give up and run. The intellect was primal at best, meaning they were a bit smarter than most beasts. Arkanian Dragons proved to be far smarter. As such, their prey had made runs at the hunters, facing down the nets and stun rifles as they sought to knock Viggo's men off the airspeeders or kill them with spears. The mag boots kept them from being knocked off, but death could still await them, even if only a tear in the suit. This caused the hunters to kill some of their prey, though they'd collect them as well and provide them as extra test subjects for Dragus. Use the dead for an initial study before starting on the living. Time would tell what the Famine Lord cared for.
The hunt was coming to its close, though as the final FIsher they needed was hit with a stun bolt and hit the deck. Twelve living Fishers, five dead. They also secured seven living Hammerhead beasts with two dead. Jumping from his place on the EasyRider to a Predator, Viggo took his place on one of the captured hammerheads. Placing a hand over the creatures head, Viggo tapped into the Force and let it penetrate its mind, taming it and taking control. As a hunter and a Force-sensitive, Animal Bond was crucial to ensuring complete control of his prizes. Though resistant at first, it soon calmed down and accepted Viggo's will. Removing the restraints that kept it bound, Viggo took to the sky with the beast and flew into the fray. From a holster on the backside of his belt did he remove his lightsaber and ignited a burning orange blade. Like playing a game of chicken, Viggo flew straight at his enemies who answered in kind. Always at the last moment would he turn to side just a bit to fly passed, only to cut his foes down. After the first couple with no end to the aggression, Viggo flew through the crowd, hitting a trigger on his hilt that released a green gas from the holes of the Krayt Dragon fang that made up the pommel. Using the Force to control the stream and its path behind him, he consumed the sky before the canister ran empty, turning with a swipe, the heat of the blade igniting the gas and creating a small explosion, one Viggo ensured he was safe from. In and instant, the enemies fell from the sky, leaving none left to challenge, any that still flew retreating finally.
Ensuring that none decided to make a counter play, Viggo landed on a Predator and passed along his order.
We have claimed our first prizes, but our job is not yet done. Secure our prey in the holds and return to the Shellfire to unloaded them. Once you have finished, target our signal and catch up to the rest of us. As Predator one and two unload, the rest will move on and seek out our next prize.
An acknowledgement came as Viggo jumped back to his EasyRider and the crews of the Predators loaded their vessels up and took off, the rest moving on to the next location.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
The three EasyRiders and single Predator pressed on to a new location as the other Predators unloaded their cargo. They moved at different levels, an EasyRider above the poisonous gas, a Predator and EasyRider just inside the fog, and the final rider further into the sea. They were uncertain of which prey they'd come across first, though it would likely be Corpse Leeches as the dragons didn't possess wings. They allowed themselves to fly closer to the mountains, feeling it would present a better chance of locating them.
It wasn't an easy task, finding one's prey with little knowledge of their habits and in such a heavy fog. They even were capable of driving the Open and Closed to to the open mountains. SO despite being non-sentient, one didn't need to think little of them. Still, Viggo had a thought that he wished to try regarding these creatures. His daughters were growing more and more capable as hunters and with their gifts in the Force. He wished to test their ability to seep into the minds of the creatures and simply convince them to board the vessel and be captured. Provided all went according to plan, this part would be by far the easiest.
Still, for the moment, Viggo awaited word from the Predator for life signs or for something to attack.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
Time seemed to tick onward as there continued to be no signs of life in the area. Viggo was hoping that they'd find something else by now, yet nothing was coming up. It had been a little over four hours since they departed the Shellfire and they only had half the requested cargo. At this point, he had ordered the Acclamator to follow their signal from above the sea. For the time being, they'd wait in their current position until it arrived, then they'd call it for now. He didn't need his men exhausted from the long hours. They did bring in a haul and there was still plenty of time in his window to spend a few days here searching the areas around the planet.
As the Shellfire arrived, Viggo ordered the ship back to the vessel for a rest. It would remained cloaked and flying around with droids monitoring the Predators' sensors as well as the sensor on the main ship. If something came up, they'd alert them. For now, they'd rest in shifts so some men were ready to go once something showed up.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
The hours passed by as the Shellfire continued on its path, seeking out either of the creatures they sought. Night had come and gone, bringing about a new day into the hunt. There had been signals detected as they went, but upon further inspection of the signatures, technology was picked as well. Occasionally, they'd sneak closer thanks to being invisible and determined the signals they were getting of the Open and Closed alongside their airships.
At one point, they came across a battle between the two, one of the many they've had over the centuries. It was this war that had turned the world harboring an advanced civilization, into the poisonous realm inhabited by mutated monstrosities. Now they were nothing, lost and mostly forgotten to time and the galaxy around them. And even after everything that was lost, the battles kept going.
It was in this location that Viggo elected to hold for the time being. Perhaps the interaction between these factions would draw in their quarry. It was time to use a different bait and hope their prey would bite.

Carnelion IV: Celadon Sea
Hope rang true as the droids monitoring the scanners picked up other signals. There was a group gathered and their signature registered a bit differently than the Open and Closed nearby. Directing the star frigate away from where the battle raged, Viggo had them move closer before returning to the hangar. He gave a new order to his crew to hang back and be ready for action in case they were needed, but otherwise, he'd go alone with his daughters. He wanted to see how well their manipulation abilities had grown as of late.
Departing in one of the EasyRiders, the trio departed the cargo hold and towards the mountain where the scanners picked up the signals. Sure enough, as they approached, they could make out figures in the lighter top layers of the fog. From their silhouette, Viggo could confirm that they were Corpse-leeches. Moving in quickly, he gave his daughters their orders.
Alright. This claim will be for you two alone. These beasts should be near mindless and able to be manipulated. I count fifteen on the ridge. As soon as we are close, I want you to to jump in front of them and use your skills to bring them to submission. Shown me how much you've grown with your training. Six each, Astrid the left most. Kareena, the six on the right. I'll control the final three.
The girls gave their confirmation, jumping from the airspeeder the moment they were close enough. Raising their hands, they began manipulating the Force around and within the Corpse-leeches. This what they had been training for, to use their abilities to hunt the greatest of game. Such beasts as these were but a mere stepping stone to true challenges. They both took a deep breath as the closed their eyes, not becoming concerned about the now agitated creatures coming at them. Already the three in the rear had come to a stop under Viggo's control, his skill in the matter nearing mastery.
The moments passed by as their quarry grew closer, yet neither girl gave in to panic or frustration. They were confident in their skills. And just before the leeches could get to them, their pace slowed before coming to a halt. Success as they opened their eyes and looked to the father, hoping to have met his expectations, though neither showed such desire.
Behind his gas mask, he smiled at how they handled the situation. They were still growing, not near his level quite yet, but they didn't fall to any emotion and kept their cool in the face of an approaching threat. And they succeeded in the first step. But they weren't done. Well done, you two. Now, climb aboard and keep them in your control. Have them fly behind us back to the Shellfire.
Doing as their father instructed, they jumped back into the EasyRider, not once losing their grip over the leeches, giving them the command to fly and follow. They did so without hesitation. Passing word ahead, the crew was ready with open cages as the trio returned, commanding the minds to gathering inside before being locked up and the three releasing control. Their requested prey had been gathered, but there was still time to spare in search of the final prize: Carnelian dragons. Moving away from their location, the crew moved on in search of their final quarry.

Carnelion IV: Mountains Near the Open
Having departed the area where the Celadon Sea resided, Viggo had his ship push closer towards the mountains. Signals had alerted them to a larger amount of signals and through further investigation, determined it was where the Open resided. It would certainly be problematic should they be discovered and the residents opt to attack. BUt they were pushing the edges of the time they could afford, having spent another day seeking out their final prey. This area would be the final stop before they left without a Carnelian dragon, but at least they had acquired everything else they needed.
To speed up the search, Not only were the air speeders sent out, but waves of battle droids on their Single Trooper Aerial Platforms. It would allow them to cover much more distance and if a droid was lost, it was a small expense to have it replace versus his own men. A couple hours were spent surveying the mountains while keeping a vigilant eye about them for signs of the Open. If they were lucky, they could claim their prize before they arrived. At that point, they'd be gone or the Shellfire's turbolasers could deter any attempt to attack.
Luckily, a droid reported finding their quarry and transferred its coordinates. The remaining droids and the hunters arrived soon after. Already had Viggo order the Acclamator to draw in close as a means of defense and a quick getaway if needed. Not wasting any time, nets and stun bolt were fired at the pair of dragons that resided there. They ran across the mountains as they sought to escape and a couple droids were brought down by their tails as they got too close. But they were like the Krayt dragon brethren and could only run, which made it easy. However, the hunters were working quickly this go round, their time all but spent and the risk of an engagement with the Open prompting a quicker resolution.
Luckily, the stun bolts and nets eventually did their work, bringing the creatures down. Pulling up a Predator, one was loaded on the top of one each before they turned back to the Shellfire. Uncloaking, a report came in that vessels were approaching. Just in time, Viggo ordered a few salvos be fired at the the airships, though they were not to be harmed in the first shots. If they didn't retreat, then they could bring the vessels down. The shots were fired as the airspeeders entered the cargo bay. Immediately, the ship closed its doors and began its ascent, the Open already pulling back due to the firepower that was sent their way.
Upon reaching the planet's atmosphere, the ship once again slowed to a crawl as the shields were refocused and laser fire began lighting up the debris field to clear a new path. Another hour or so was spent clearly their way before they made it through. Free from the field of scrap, the ship pushed away, eventually flashing away into hyperspace.

Eol Sha: Open Orbit
Following the coordinates for the planet's location, Viggo was curious to what they would find. Based on the history he reviewed, multiple events had happened and been theorized to happen. The first was the fact the Eol Sha's moon had been in a descending orbit and was anticipated to eventually crash into the planet. Such records were fairly old so it was highly likely the to bodies had crashed into each other. With the planet's unstable nature, it was uncertain as to whether it continued to thrive or was utterly destroyed. Considering the creature they sought, if the planet remained, he was confident in its survival.
But the moon's descent wasn't the only issue. It seemed that at one point the Imperial superweapon, the Sun Crusher, had destroyed the Cauldron Nebula. While never confirmed, the planet as well as the entire solar system had been destroyed due to its proximity. However, since no confirmation was given and only speculated, there was a chance the system had survived. The hunter could only hope as that wasn't news he wished to return to the Famine Lord with.
As the alarms sounded, signifying they were reaching their destination, Viggo's head raised slightly, anticipation and hope for the planet's continued existence. He stood just in front of the viewport of the bridge, his breath entering in a single large breath. Dropping out of hyperspace, the swirling tunnel of blue tore apart in streaks before fading completely, their speed rapidly returning to normal. At first, their was nothing as his eyes work to adjust to what was in front of him. But in a blink, he saw it. A world alive with tectonic activity. Even from orbit he could see the glowing light of fresh lava surging from some of the many volcanos. Letting go of his breath with a relieved smile, he turned and made his way to the scanners. They now had two ships, which meant they could effectively split up to cover more ground. The question was where should they start.
Having the droids bring up the planet one the holoprojector, the hunter moved over to it, joined shortly by his daughters. He gazed upon the world as it slowly turned, trying to figure out the best places to begin their searches. After a few moments, he selected a few positions they could try. Taking a few for himself, he had the remaining coordinates sent to Ryker upon the Shellfire. His pathing was for the second-in-command to determine as he ordered the Death Song forward to his first selected destination.

Eol Sha: Open Terrain Site 1
The Death Song dropped down through the think dark clouds that hung in the air. Their destination was one of the largest volcanos on the eastern side of the planet. It was active, pouring the thick sheets of smoke into the sky. Visibility was minimal, leaving the work up to the sensors to help direct them closer. Even then, such a task was still tricky as lightning surged within. The shields aboard the vessel were strong, however, keeping them safe from taking any damage. Then again, if they took too many hits, it'd be just like getting blasted with an ion weapon and things would go down bit by bit. A dangerous thought, to be sure. But being a hunter was about more than simply being brave and strong enough to face the beast one sought, but also learning to endure the terrain they called home. Some times, it was that fact alone that brought a hunter to his knees against their quarry.
The ship shook a bit as some bolts struck the shields, the barrier losing strength, bit by bit. It was a good thing, Mahal had designed the new Venator with stronger shields. It made one wonder how the Shellfire would hold up. But that was for Ryker to sort out. Breaking through the darkened sky, the Death Song was in the clear, its target just up ahead. A massive volcano that one wondered with the ship could safely lower itself in. Surely, of all places, a fireworm lived in these magma chambers.
Giving the order, the hunters made their way to the hangar, most already dressed in gear better equipped to handle the heat. They couldn't risk anything in this environment. Once all were ready, a few hover vehicles departed and circled the opening of the summit. Viggo looked to his scanners, hoping to find something while others used macrobinoculars. Nothing could be seen, however. With that, it was time to move to the next phase. a couple bolts of turbolaser fire was blasted into the hot liquid within, seeing if anything could be stirred up. They could have landed an waited, but for Grimborn, he preferred to have eyes on his target before dropping into its home.
Eol Sha: Open Terrain Site 2
Choosing a safer approach, Ryker brought the Acclimator down closer to the fiery terrain through a clear spot before making his way to his intended target. As Viggo managed the east, his second-in-command would handle the west. Growing closer, Ryker and his men had done as the other team, suiting up for the hot experience. Yet, when they departed, it was decided to move in instead of trying to stir thing up. The groups took up positions around the lake of lava, snipers ready to reign stun bolts down in order to try and subdue their prey. In the hover vehicles, net launchers and line launchers were ready, all equipped with heat resistant cabling. They wouldn't do any good in the magma itself, but should be enough to catch their target. They just had to hope they could hoist it out before it submerged.
Once all was ready, Ryker lifted a grenade launcher. Firing off a few shots, he watched them explode and waited to see what would surface.

Eol Sha: Open Terrain Site 1
Viggo's team waited above the mouth of the volcano as bolts of turbolaser fired reigned down upon the fiery liquid. After a few moments, the assault stopped and they waited to see what would become of the provocation. Minutes passed, slowly bringing about the idea that no fireworms existed within. But the hunter was more than willing to wait a bit longer. When hunting, patience would always be key. Never could one just abandon a spot just because nothing showed in a short amount of time, even when provoked or lured.
His willingness to remained proved the right choice as a spew of lava sprayed into the air as something broke the surface. A cry echoed across the molten walls, their quarry having presented itself. The hovercrafts broke from the positions into the pit, gunners ready with stun rifles and the net and harpoons took aim. Viggo's craft descended lower as shots were fired, testing just what the creature could take before fully committing to any particular approach. The hunter and his daughters disembarked from the ship as it rose again to aid the others. They would need to aid in distracting it and holding it in place.
His right hand removed his lightsaber as his left came up and released a strong Force Push at the dragon. The hard impact was enough to have the creature turn to him and approach as more shot reigned down. But in doing so, he allowed for the heat resistant chains to be fired. They couldn't allow it to submerge just to get away or make a surprise attack. They would control the situation. His daughters aided him in launching Force attacks, their affects being no more than an annoyance. Put a few chains did properly pass just close enough for Viggo to manipulate them, forcing them to spin around the creature and locking hold.
The chains would be able to resist the intense heat and what came from the fireworm's scales, but if it was able to drag itself under, the lava would allow it to break free. Once a few chains had been set in place, it began to fight back hard, though Viggo wasn't about to let it have its way. Putting more focus into his ability, his hand began to grip the creature as he forced it to hold still as he lifted. It struggled, but it seemed unable to break free. In a last ditch effort, it sprayed lava from its mouth as the hunter as his daughters stepped up and lifted their hands to create a shield. The lava impacted it before being pushed away.
Stun bolts continued to reign down as they sought to render the beast inert and ready for loading. It certainly wasn't easy as everyone worked to maintain control and tried to subdue it. But as the passing minutes went, its movements were less aggressive. Eventually, it began to rest, allowing the hunters to safely pull the creature from the volcano and up to the ship. The upper hangar hatch opened as the craft lowered the creature in onto a bed that moved over into a readied cage and dropped it inside. The shields up, the first prize had been gained. Yet, Viggo wasn't content to just stop. He ordered everyone to spread out and lock within caverns and ledges to see if any eggs existed. If they were lucky, they'd find some, if not another dragon.

The response Ryker got was much quicker and far more violent as the dragon moved through the molten lake, spitting out lava as it went to those in the air and those on the ground. The best any of them could do was try and dodge or hide. None possessed the Force like Viggo and his spawn. As such, they had to be much more careful strategic in their approach. As was with Viggo's group, stun bolts rained down , hoping for it to surface and give them a proper target. Ryker, himself, launched a few grenades in front of it, hoping to draw it out. Such risky rewards were granted if a shrilling scream. A few more rounds were fired straight into the beast by Ryker who knew the scales were extremely durable. Had to be to endure this environment. It could even fend off lightsaber, if the rumors were true.
Luckily, while not doing heavy damage, it did force the worm to pause for a moment as something glimmering feel from it. Scales that had done its deed and no longer served a purpose. He'd have to take care not to directly hit that spot again, unless risk the chance of it being killed. But it wasn't long before it was moving again, leaping into the air around the hovercraft, the vehicles just barely able to move. Nets and lines were fired in attempts to seize it, but for now, all ended in failure.
While aggressive creatures, there was something about its actions that seemed to make it more feral against them. It was then he was curious about something. He ordered a hovercraft to break away and begin searching the area. Perhaps this was a mother defending her nest. If they found it, they could distract it enough to hopefully subdue it and also claim some eggs.
As the hunters continued to try and capture it, his suspicions were correct when the team found a nest with four eggs within. The creature seemed to noticed as if all else no longer mattered and it made a straight shot for them. The craft quickly gathered the eggs and rose to a higher altitude as they waited. The shot kept coming as nets were fired. AT best, they slowed it down, but weren't enough to surround and catch the creature. But they did allow for a few openings for the harpooners. The shots fired were successful as they wrapped around the creature.
Doing the same as Viggo, stun bolts were fired as they worked to subdue the creature, eventually being able to do so. Lifting it into the air, the crafts carried the dragon back to the Shellfire.

Eol Sha: Open Orbit
After some time searching and reporting back their finds, Viggo opted to call the mission a success. On his end, they had gained a male fireworm a two eggs while Ryker's team captured the female alongside four eggs. There had been some debate as to whether they should stay and see if any other dragons resided within those volcanos or in nearby ones, but decided against it. As much as it would have provided a major boost to their income, facing off with this particular prey was more dangerous than normal. They had gotten lucky that their skill kept hold of the situation. But the frenzied female on Ryker's side showed how close they could have come to losing men and equipment on top of the prey. It was also dangerous having any of their ships that close to the heat as it was possible to lose them to any kind of mechanical failure.
Setting up a rendezvous spot in orbit, the Shellfire met up with the Death Song. Once all was confirmed to be in order, Viggo ordered the jump to hyperspace, their destination: Roon.
