C-9979 Modular Frigate (Missile Boat Refit)Ship Class: Frigate Ship Role: Missile Boat, Bombardment Ship Length: 210 meters (370 meters wide) Agility (A): 1 Defensive (D): 3 Offensive (O): 5 Speed (S): 2 Special Gear: 0 Description:The Missile Boat Refit for the C-9979 Modular Frigate turns the C-9979 into a floating fortress of destruction. Beyond the 4 Turret-Mounted Cannons in 2 Fire-Linked Pairs that come with the "Core" ship, the front wings of the Missile Boat Refit were turned into massive missile launchers. 12 Missile Launchers ran across each wing for a total of 24 all up. The Vehicle and Troop storage space was thus converted into Missile storage with a variety of payloads possible. In total, each Launch tube was allocated space for 12 salvos each. In the event a Launcher was damaged, the repulsor tracks allowed easy transportation of the ordinance cages. The rear wings of the Missile Boat Refit were massive bomb bays. Three rows of retractable bomb bay doors running the width of the wings allow rapid deployment of ordinance. Specially designed racks allow for a variety of bomb types to be stocked and dropped. However, some ammo types require maintenance time to swap between rack types. Depending upon the ammo type, the rear wings could drop near to 6,000 bombs in a single carpet run. Control systems did also allow for much smaller munition dumps, with it being possible to drop a single bomb.

Hmmm, I am not so sure about this submission having a total of 24 missile launchers on the wings considering the diagrams for it here. It seems to hold a lot of its necessary engines on the very tips of the wings which seem to encompass roughly 1/5. Might prove to be a bit heavy to be this bombardment/missile boat. Maybe just make it a missile boat?

So, found a full page larger resolution scan of the C-9979: hereGiven the sheer carrying capacity of these, I can't imagine 12 Launch tubes per wing is too much up front. I'm inclined to believe the AAT's continued for a couple more rows beneath the equipment we get given a cut away view of. The back wings are where all the bombs are stored, and that 6,000 number would be 3 racks of those Magnetic Bombs we see in The Last Jedi. Certainly happy to drop that number down by 1/3rd if we feel like "up to 6,000" is too much? Just looking at the sheer amount of available space, seems like plenty of room to work with.

Stares.
"I was not told about the six thousand bombs sir, but I really needed to take a cigarette break."
Pretends not to see the smoking wreck behind.
In any case, based on the cutaway, I think it's fine. And judging by the dramatically reduced speed and agility, I'm guessing this refit sacrificed some engines or something similar. I give it an Approved.

Yeah considering the speed is pretty low that makes sense now that I think about it. Some engines were likely removed to accommodate the missiles so I'm gonna go ahead and give this an APPROVED
