Welcome to Maarva's Mess Hall & Cantina, home of the Carassi Legion, where you can always be sure there is a brick under the bar and plenty of thirsty rebels ready to drink the shelves dry. Cocktails, stim-caf, and questionable cuisine can all be found at Maarva's, the Home Two's designated galley and after hours nightclub. This fine establishment was named in honour of Maarva Carassi Andor, one of the first and most dignified matriarchs of the Rebellion. Don't believe us? Just look at her mural over the bar which features Maarva's most well known catchphrase. The mess hall is a regular meeting place for rebels planning a daring mission or sharing intel. And at Maarva's, rebels always drink for free. Droids allowed.

The first thing Endor had done after the rebels had returned from a very successful Operation Kath Hound on Dantooine was take a long hot shower. The second, was to head to Maarva's. Saloon style doors swung open as a broad shouldered beast of a human strut into the cantina. Despite there not being any trees aboard the Home Two, a springtime breeze seemed to follow the General, blowing loose leaves behind him as he entered the watering hole. By all accounts he looked far fresher than a few hours earlier, having traded in his combat fatigues for a fresh vacuum sealed body glove and his backup flight jacket, comprised of faded brown leather reminiscent of tree bark. The music stopped playing as he entered, allowing only the hushed whispers of the cantina occupants to be heard as they gossiped about the General, sharing tidbits of what they had heard about his most recent deeds. Endor's head drooped as he listened, causing his grin to widen and his beard to shake, serving to proceed an exaggerated snarl as he threw up an arm over his head and clenched his hand tightly into a fist. "FUCK THE EMPIRE!" He bellowed, causing spittle to fly from his shouting lips. The reply he got from the occupants of the cantina was overwhelming, a deafening chorus of cries repeating the same slogan, 'fuck the empire'. Fuck it, indeed.Grinning from ear to ear, the mangy woodsman crossed the cantina to the bar and slapped half a crumbling brick on the polished counter-top. The squarish hunk of duracrete was stained a rust brown from all the fascist blood that coated its uneven surface. This was the very same brick the General had used to cave in the skull of a stormtrooper at the labour camp on Dantooine. Endor lifted his callused hand from the brick and looked at the bar-tender, a surly Yuzzum from the Forest Moon, who always kept the liquor flowing when rebels were abound. "That ought to be worth a drink." The pilot stated confidently, resting a thick sausage finger on the top of the brick. The Yuzzum looked at the brick and then at Endor, offering the hairy human a wink before replying."I'd say it's worth a round at least." The bartender said with a nod, taking the brick and adding it to the stack of bricks behind the bar that was growing larger by the day. It was the General's fondest hope that one day they had enough bricks to rebuild everything the Empire had destroyed in its relentless pursuit of power. A large stein was placed in front of Endor, with foam and ale spilling over the brim, wetting the pilot's palm as he scooped it up and began to drain it down his throat. All around the cantina, a fresh round of drinks was being passed out. Endor lowered his glass when it was empty and let out a belch that rattled the stormtrooper helmets hanging from the ceiling. It was important to celebrate even their smallest victories, good for morale, because the next time they entered Maarva's...they might be drinking to drown their sorrows.

Thanks to some pre-battle prep work from Allas, The Halcyon crew was aware of the co-ordinates to head for once the Prison Break had been completed. The trip from Dantooine to Hoth had allowed Katja a moment to change out of her prison fatigues and take a shower before getting dressed back into her more casual attire. Her time in Prison had not been overly long thankfully, but the visit had certainly taken its own small toll upon her. Having some normalcy returned was a good start to her new found freedom. But what felt good was boarding the Home Two and leading her crew to the Cantina aboard the Resurgent-class Battlecruiser known as Maarva's.
The saloon style doors swung open as Katja entered the Cantina first, followed by her crew, just as the round of drinks was being passed around. She scooped a mug of ale from one of the staff and made something of a bee-line toward the bar where the flame haired general sat with his now empty glass. Allas followed close behind and took a seat at the bar, whilst the quartets of pilots seemed to spread throughout the bar, mingling with the crowd. Katja leaned back against the bar and took a long draught of her drink before turning her focus from the crowd to Endor Quite the Party you've thrown... General was it? Allas here tells me I owe you and yours a debt of thanks for helping break me out. Though it does seem one of your number is missing from these celebrations. Regardless, you have my thanks. Not many would have been willing to take on the Empire like that... She gave a nod of her head indicating the crowd So is this them? The Rebels?

Endor's bushy right brow rose as he passed his empty cup to the bartender and turned towards the woman who had addressed him, before raising his left hand behind his head to rub the back of it, his signature grin suddenly sheepish. "Aye, my ranks General, but you can just call me Endor. I'm not one for formalities." He extended his strong right callus covered palm to Katja in a clear offer of friendship. "And you don't owe me anything. Your team helped us just as much as we helped you." He leaned in, breath stinking of ale and his jacket smelling faintly of cave smoke from a snowok camp fire. His tone of voice lowered, a bearish growl for only her ears to hear, his presence exuding a picture of a man both at once tamed and feral. "Besides, any chance to crack a few fascist skulls feels to me like a gift. Hah!"Leaning out, the hairy woodsmen turned ace pilot thumped a hand against his chest, then emptied the contents of his freshly filled stein. He turned the glass over before slapping it back down on the counter top of the bar that startled a pair of drunken Tynnans stumbling by. He mimed an apology before returning his attention to Katja."Yes ma'am. Rebels indeed, that's what they call us, and we like it just fine. They might not look like much, but this is the bravest lot of roughnecks and scoundrels I've had the pleasure of serving with, and I used to be a pirate. We're out here fighting for freedom." He looked at her, his leafy green eyes large and serious, while his beard bunched up against his neck. "Not just ours, either. We're fighting for everybody. Tyrants and dictators have been allowed to abuse and oppress the peace loving people of this galaxy for far too long. We're coming for them, and we're bringing a few bricks." A toothy grin split his face from one ear to the other. "The only question I have for you, friend, is if you'd like to help us hurl a couple of them at the folks that imprisoned you?" Briefly he looked thoughtful, or drunk, either way he brought a hand beneath his face and scratched his chin. "Actually, make that two questions. I never caught your name. What can I call you?"

Very well, Endor it is... She took the hand offered to her and shook it whilst balancing the jug in her hand, taking a swig of it even as the Rebel General tried to be modest. It was an admirable trait, but Katja had heard the plan her crew had planned out for her escape. Suffice to say she was glad they had happened their way upon the Rebels when they did. Some might have considered it fate, other luck. But if it was anything, it was quite likely the whim of the Force acting in her favour. An act for which an opposite cost would need to be paid.
She continued to sip and down her beer even as Endor indulged in a bit of pride over the group he had assembled, or was merely apart of. It was hard to tell from the man's growing inebriated state and his seemingly usual blusterous manner just where he fit into the whole picture. But she was happy enough over his confirmation of who and what this group was. She flashed him a smile, the pearly whites of her teeth contrasting against her mocha coloured skin for but a moment Katja, Captain Katja Eve. Smuggler and Pirate extraordinaire... You've met my crew... She motioned with her jug filled hand out to the five individuals throughout the crowd They're a good lot, I'm just not sure whether they're all ready to make that full commitment just yet. Don't get me wrong, Endor. I applaud what you have here and were it me alone, I would happily throw my full support behind your Rebels. But we are a crew and make decisions as a crew... But that doesn't mean we are not inclined to help if you need some. We owe you a debt and fulfilling that debt might help me convince the others to trust you. She gave him a wink as she took another swig of her beer. Anyone with the ability to touch the Force nearby would well be able to tell that all of her crew, save Allas, were Force Sensitives. A fact many would find unusual given Katja's admission of being a smuggler and a pirate. But they had their stories and reasons for being upon her crew, with a very common thread joining all of their stories. Trust was something hard built but easily lost, making the next time they wanted to trust something doubly hard

"Katja." He said, repeating the name she had given as though he were testing how it sounded when growled from his throat in his bearish way. His signature grin spread a little wider. "A good name. I like it." The General also decided in that moment that he liked the woman that owned it as well. She spoke earnestly and didn't make excuses.
"Aye, I met them. Some damn good pilots too, and I would know. You're looking at one of the best." He boasted further, returning her wink with one of his own. Turning around, he put his back to the bar counter top and leaned in beside her, shoulder to shoulder. "Don't worry, I won't pressure them into anything they don't want to do, but trust me when I tell you, everyone says they have to think about joining before they actually do. Inevitably, they all take up the call." His grin turned into a grimace and his forest green eyes focused on the floor, sticky with spilled ale and Dantooine dirt rubbed off of rebel boots. "It's an easy decision when you see who we're fighting, and understand the reasons why." He prodded her side with his elbow closest to her, then leaned his head closer to her, smiling just as wide as before as he stared at her. "Freedoms call makes fast friends of us all."
Raising a hand beneath his chin, the rebel General stroked his wild and unkept beard with his thick fingers, lowering his voice to a whispered growl, clearly intending his words for Katja's ear only.
"If you are as serious about making good on that debt, there is something you could help me with actually. I need to make a trip out to Ossus to speak with the head of the Jedi Lords headquartered there, a High Lord Lucien Malvern, a generous administrator with a terrible mustache, though I've never had the heart to tell him that. The Rebellion is planning something big, something that's going to make what we did on Dantooine look like child's play, but we'll need a bit of help from some friends with experience in dealing with evil space wizards. I tried asking the headmaster of the Corellian Jedi Academy for help, but every time I reach out to the guy he seems to disappear into thin air, so Lucy it is. He'll help us, I'm confident of that, it's just...the last time we spoke, he leant the Rebellion a battlecruiser we...uh...." He rubbed the back of his head. "...well, let's just say we're still trying to locate all the remaining pieces. Lucy may be a bit sore about it, and if I am honest with myself, I tend to fly off the handle when accused of carelessness. Things will probably go over smoother if I have someone with me who can keep a cooler head, maybe even help grease his wheels a bit."

Katja took another swig of her drink as Endor spoke, agreeing that he would not try to pressure her crew but that everyone in such positions ended up taking up the call Oh, on that matter we agree. Believe me, they will come around, but they've all got some of their own... issues to work through first. She leaned in a lot closer then as Endor lowered his voice to an almost conspiratorial whisper and seemed to already have a situation in mind within which her crew could repay the debt they owed the Rebels. It would have shocked her were she still a naive captain starting out back in the day. But she'd met Endor's type many times over the years. Good natured as he might be, there was almost always some trouble or another that he needed to work his way out of. This situation seemed to involve a battlecruiser and the Jedi... Lords? that was different, she vaguely remembered something about them in regards to the Ruusan Reformations, but history class had been a long time ago Well that certainly seems convenient for you to have such a problem that needs solving and a group owing you a debt to solve something... I suppose it is not my place to determine the time, place, and fashion in which we repay our debt. However I have one condition: you will tell me what happened to that battlecruiser. I don't intend to see my life and crew became the next battlecruiser, understood?

"More than fair." Acceded the General, nodding his head. "I rammed the damn thing down the throat of a Sith star destroyer over Bakura. There may have been a less costly means of taking that dreadnought out, but they had turned their cannons on the civilian population of the planet and it seemed the fastest way to get the job done at the time. Not to worry though, it was crewed entirely by droids..."
At that very moment, the bushy bearded General's faithful and foul mouthed astromech droid was rolling by through the cantina, and just so happened to hear the last part of its owner's statement. R6-66 swivelled its chassis and extended the electro-shock prod concealed in its trash can shaped body. A blue fork of electricity jumped from two prongs on the end and zapped the former woodsman in the rump.
"Ow!" Snarled Endor, jumping in place as a curtain of smoke rose from his backside. He quickly spun around and cocked back an arm, then paused, holding it in place as he realized the source of the pain in his backside. Gritting his teeth, he wagged an angry finger at the droid, who was already rolling away on his tracked legs. The Rebel ace shook his head from side to side, resting his callused hands on his hips. "I knew letting clankers in here was a mistake." He turned to Katja. "He's a bit sensitive." He cracked another smile, then mustered his more serious side before continuing. "As much as we might need them, I'd never place the value of credits before the lives of the innocent people. If Lucien were to give me another battlecruiser, there is every chance I'd do the same thing to that one, especially if it was to save or protect someone." He shrugged, then smiled sadly. "It's just who I am."

Assuming he was being honest - which her conversation with him thus far had indicated he undoubtedly was being honest - then this situation would be relatively easy to smooth out with this Jedi High Lord. These Jedi Lords, what ever else they may be, at the end of the day were Jedi at their core. At least, she hoped they were. Assuming they were indeed, as the name implied, Jedi then they would be another group on the same side of this fight as the Rebels. She gave Endor a pat on the back then as he shrugged and that sad smile appeared Well that.... that I can make work. I've got four Jedi on my crew, I think one High Lord should be easy enough.... You've got yourself a deal. She extended out her mug toward Endor for them to cheers upon the agreement We'll be ready to leave by morning, shall we take your ship or mine?

Raising his stein, Endor clinked glasses with Katja. "Outstanding." His smile widened. "We'll take your ship, if you don't mind. Drenlin's use of the Mossflower's SLAM system over Dantooine warped the frigate's exhaust manifold out of shape. I'll be lucky to get her out of dry-dock by the end of the week." The last time the rebels had tried that trick they'd been fortunate enough to have earned the favour of the CDF who were generous enough to repair the Mossflower. This time they had only themselves, which meant is was going to take a bit longer to get her space worthy again. As there wasn't much to be done about that, he simply shrugged, then stepped away from the bar.He was grateful Katja seemed amendable to helping, as had Headmaster Frantz, though he'd refrained from saying so to his knew acquaintance and hopefully future friend. With so much tension in the Core these days with the First Order's civil war spilling into neighbouring star systems, he didn't like the idea of drawing any resources away from their allies in the region, but the truth was he wasn't confident that a combined coalition of Rebels and Jedi Lords would be enough to free Dac of the darkness that currently gripped it in a strangle hold. They needed all the help they could get. They needed the Corellia Jedi Order. That said, the General predicted it would be the Jedi Lords who would prove the more difficult to convince. The last time he had come to them asking for help, High Lord Lucian had made it clear that the JL had a great deal of responsibility and could only offer limited assistance. This time, he'd need all of them. Hopefully showing up with a few Jedi of his own would be enough to convince the JL how serious the matter was and why they couldn't afford to ignore it any longer."I'll meet you in the hangar at 0600." He said, offering his Korunnai companion a wink and casual salute. 6AM might have seemed early to most folk, but the General was still on Bright Tree Village time. When the sun rose, the day started, even if you weren't ready for it. Bidding Katja adieu for the evening, the rebel top ace crossed the cantina floor and exited through a pair of swinging saloon doors, heading off to make his last minute preperations.

Very well Endor, zero six hundred at the Halcyon, see you there... She finished off her mug as Endor took his leave from the party. The coming days, and most likely weeks, were bound to be filled with a great deal of adventure and war. It was for that reason that Katja let the rest of her crew have the night to enjoy themselves and relax. Besides, there was no downside to instilling some sense of comradery between the Crew and the Rebels. It could only serve to make them more motivated to move on from their pasts and embrace the future. As she rejoined the group of companions, Allas pressed in close and nodded her head toward the bar What was that all about?
Was just thanking Endor for his help rescuing me and keeping my crew out of trouble...
Yeah, but after that? Katja smirked as a small sparkle in her eye caught Allas attention Nothing to worry about for now. Have some fun Allas, you're allowed to relax a little my platinum beauty... Allas almost immediately blushed and downed her drink at the compliment before deciding that Katja was a bit too well equipped tonight to be trying to interrogate. She joined the others in their revelry, unaware of what would await them all in the morning...
