Description:
The TIE Reaver, alternatively known as the TIE/Rev or the Reaver-class Sith Starfighter, is a prototype starfighter of the acclaimed, but failed, TIE/ph Phantom Starfighter. Named the Reaver Project after the Sith Lord, Darth Reave of the One Sith, this project was initiated several years ago by Astera's predecessor, a Givin technologist and gifted scientist by the name of Darth Grekal. The Givin was also the master of Astera as a young pupil, teaching her the ways of technology and science. Records indicate that he disappeared mysteriously after entering the Maelstrom Nebula in the Outer Rim, thus ending the progress in the developed and testing of the starfighter. The project would be concluded eventually, under Astera's supervision, and gifted to the succeeding Fist of the Sith Eternal, Darth Xitan.
Based upon the Phantom TIE appearance, there are some modifications, especially towards the rear of the vessel, which is less bulky than its predecessor. The removal of the cloaking system allowed for greater speed, but the addition of weaponry downgraded the starfighter's agility. This is namely due to the augmented weaponry, compared to the original build, that tones down its agility. This loss in agility was compensated by the addition of advanced maneuvering thrusters which still ensures sharp turns and quick counters when need be.
Otherwise, the weaponry was buffed immensely. The TIE/ph sported a total of five laser cannons. The TIE/Rev is armed with three light laser cannons on the tips of the wings, two medium laser cannons beneath the cockpit's viewport, and between the cockpit and the upper wing, a quad missile launcher was added in. This can be configured to launch four homing missions, four concussion missiles, or four proton rockets. An advanced targeting system assists in ensuring that this firepower can bear down precisely and with pinpoint accuracy.
