Description:
Inspired by the Phantom's aftermarket design, but also seeking to streamline the design further. Gemstar Juvex set about constructing two fighter shuttles. Varying from the standard length of 11.63 meters, Gem shortened and shrank the vessel's length and overall frame by a meter and half a meter respectively.
She outfitted an astromech slot for each shuttle, allowing her droid crew to man the rear guns and perform maintenance or even control the craft as needed.
The Peridot has a 1 Taim & Bak MS-2B twin laser cannon mounted in the front, and an ion cannon turret located in the rear dorsal section. The Opal sports a pair of forward facing heavy ion cannons and a Taim & Bak KX4 dorsal laser turret. Both shuttles can carry a maximum of 6 passengers, 1 pilot and 1 astromech droid.
Both ships have a hyperdrive class 2 with a class 10 backup, shielding, and can carry either 1 ton of cargo or 6 passengers. If there are passengers, the shuttle can support up to 250 kilograms of cargo depending on the mass and size. The ships have a more curved and streamlined look, providing a harder frame to hit.
They're designed to dock with larger ships and act as rear guns when not in flight.
