==Pirate Raid SL== <<107 PP, N9 Sector, Interstellar Space>> The time had come to attack. Individually, there were not very large, perhaps the size of a small housepet. They also had next to no emissions, the efficient systems used in their design were foreign to most galactic tech, something that was a reoccurring theme in the Imperium. A glittering red beam pierced the haze. Had there been enough atmosphere to carry the noise, it would have sounded like someone snapping a dry branch. A moment later, three more beams lanced out from different directions. A few moments later & dozens more of the beams glittered in the haze. Individually, the beams were far weaker than blaster bolts. However, they were also far faster, the technology was actually a modern reproduction & improvement of laser weapons from millennia ago. Individually, the beams would do little again the intruder's armor, however these were far from individual. Two dozen of the small, spider like drones had gathered for the assault. The entire ship's defensive compliment launched in a single attack. The haze that had hidden them before, now hampered them, sapping small amounts of power from each shot as the ice particle haze flash evaporated & then refroze. Like the beams themselves, the M1 drones were weak alone, but deadly in numbers.

Entering the hyperspace lane carefully they skirted off leaving any ambitions of glory to those who wished that albatross upon themselves

As the first few shots closed in, they hit her armour. The composite material absorbing the impacts with little more than faint blaster marks left over. Emma turned to face the corridor then, as several move laser blasts flew through the hazed atmosphere Oh shit... She disengaged the mag boots then, allowing her maneuvering thrusters to activate as she moved hard to the right, barely dodging all of the tiny laser blasts. With several of the beams glancing off her left leg and arm. Without a proper target, Emma blindly fired down the corridor towards where the laser beams seemed to have originated from. Unleashing a small hail of light repeater fire. Hoping to buy herself some time as a notification came up that a translator program was working on the handle instructions. She might have sent a distress signal out to Luxeria, but as far in as she was, Emma doubted it would reach the Sith

Even the scattered return fire from the intruder was effective. It only took only a single shot to destroy the small drones. Of course, hitting one of the small & nimble objects was the real challenge. The random scatter of shots managed to destroy one of the drones by sheer chance, but there were still twenty three of them left. A group of six pushed after the now fleeing intruder, herding her onward with continual beam attacks.
The remaining drones also split up into groups of six (though one group was already down one member). Two of these groups moved through access tunnels in the walls designed for their use in order to bypass the intruder & launch a pincer attack. The last group pushed on even further, setting up another ambush around the manual release, something she would have to pass in order to exit the ship at all, unless she started opening cargo bays.

Navigational gear allows us the chisel out safe paths through the wide universe, which must be constantly altered by unpredictable phenomenon, such as meteors and other obstructions. By balancing between the two poles we are able to move in relative safely through the cosmos. The fundamental problem that arises from these secure routes construct is that they become tired and unimaginative. Yet on we go day after day struggling along the same beaten tracks. The way to make change is simple. And now enter our ongoing tale. After leaving Manaan and now moving along a well-established path Morrígu suddenly screamed the order -Morrígu- “Turn!!!”

She responded -Morrígu- “Better is one's own path, though imperfect than the path of another well made….” She heard no response to this lovely cliche. And as so long ago way back in the days of old magnificently they did float away into the mystic.... As they slipped away Maureen took the woman's hand and held tighter than she every had before. Morrígu actually winced in pain. Maureen's little heart pounded like a jackhammer as her mind raced With all ahead of them unmapped and unridden what lay ahead hidden? Perhaps new ancient relics were to be found. Or did monsters lie in wait? All that made sense now was that nothing was rational. It was all was a trick. The utterly blinding Light that one only finds in total Darkness crept up on them. And she was scared, so tighter still she held the hand

As Ciarán and Laoch were carried along behind they too wondered what lie ahead. Ciarán suddenly could not shake off The Old man's voice. Thunderously loud man but he could not understand what he was saying. Laoch too caught something in his head. He muttered confused -Laoch- "Death? To who?"

Space went on endlessly. The end of the universe is a commonly used phrase, and it is a most creative use of a word that by definition means ‘without end.’ Indeed a massive body of academic work can be found in the extant literature devoted to this question. After all how could one find the end of something without end? We will not stay fixed on a theoretical question that this writer is hopelessly underqualified to answer but rather use some elements of this ongoing discussion in our story. Am I confusing anyone? For a second the point of all this and how exactly it related to the tale that I am weaving became lost. Right! Where we left off our heroine and her motley crew of misfits were being sucked into a hole in space and apparently lost forever. Morrígu screamed -Morrígu- “Turn!!! Damn it! Turn the bloody ship!" Maureen squeezed the woman’s hand all the tighter as Boland tried desperately to comply with her command but to no end. They were engulfed and disappeared. Through all of this The Raven sat calmly on the shoulder of Morrígu

Ciarán and Laoch watched as the hole came into view. Laoch was quite confused as to what was happening then he muttered -Laoch- “A black hole?” Ciarán declared -Ciarán- “I knew that we should have stayed on Corusacnt!” Then looking at his partner in crime -Ciarán- “Laoch you’re an idiot." At that they seemingly vanished

They say, we are never told who exactly ‘they’ are but they say a lot. Now where was I? Yes. They say that nothing is more unifying than shared anguish and pain. Here in our tale the truth this conviction becomes manifest. A beast materialised out of nowhere in front of the woman. Morrígu instinctively pushed Maureen aside and smacked The Raven from her shoulder. The little girls rolled three feet to the left as The Raven flew away to the right

Ciarán and Laoch stood frozen, two powerful men of action in the moment reduced to helpless witnesses. They stood and watched as the scene unfolded like some horror movie created by an equally genius and deeply disturbed mind

Morrígu was to be more impacted in this moment than she had been by death itself. The woman, rightfully so, had always prided herself in her devastating beauty. As they entered the wormhole she could see the clawed hand coming at her face. Unfortunately her physical reaction to the blow did not match the visual perception of it coming. The talons struck the left side of her head raking violently down. The clawed little finger tore down ripping hair from her head and cleanly severing the lobe from ear. The ring and middle finger laid two grisly lacerations running from scalp to neck. The index finger tore her left eye out of the socket and cut the left nostril in two. As her eye struck the ground it was squashed under a giant foot stomping down cruelly. Her head swinging from the blow and body falling backwards gracefully spared the woman from any further devastation of her face as she crumbled to the ground in a heap. Boland turned eyes falling on the woman collapsing to the floor. His first instinct was to leap to her aid. And he knew that to be the exact opposite of what he had to do, which was maintaining control of the ship. He bitterly turned back to his task Maureen, regaining her feet, stood jaw agape and face chalky white staring. The lady was about to die. Tears welled up in her eyes as every once of energy she possessed fell on the woman. The Raven went to great efforts not to manipulate the full weight of his knowledge of The Force and alter things too greatly. Here the situation was different. The Raven would not, could not allow the woman to be harmed any further. His eyes went fiery for a flash. It was at that moment a shaft of energy shot out and the Beast was evaporated by Force Disintegration

Ciarán and Laoch, pistols drawn, were advancing on the beast firing as they moved forward. Then like that the beast evaporated into thin air. The looked to one another stunned for a second. Shaking his head Ciarán ran to the woman. Laoch blew past him, dropping to his knees he immediately began tenderly examining her still body. Both were certain she was dead. Laoch’s hand crossing her breasts caught a subtle beat. He dropped putting left ear to her chest then rose yelling -Laoch- “She’s breathing!!!” Handling her as delicate as a piece of fine china he bellowed -Laoch- “Water! first aid kit! Now MFs!!!” Ciarán looking around frantically saw a kit on the left wall, snatching it off he knelt by the other side of the body and between the two one of the most amateur acts of first aid in history transpired. And it was touchingly heartfelt

They had been in the wormhole now for seven days. The group took turns caring for Morrígu . They washed her wounds, changed her dressings and fed her tenderly. Maureen watched as Ciarán and Laoch argued as they attempted to read the woman a novel. On day seven she opened her eye, looking up with blurry vision at Boland, who held her in his arms. A pain shot up Morrígu’s face and she reached up to her eye. Boland slapped her hand down. Looking up she demanded -Morrígu- “I want a mirror.” Looking down mortified at her a time with troubled eyes, mouth open and protest on his lips finally with a deep sigh he spoke -Boland- “Maureen get a mirror….” No answer came but a few seconds later he had a square hand mirror with a handle in hand. Morrígu took it from his hands and turned it towards her looking blankly at what had happened. With a cracked voice she said -Morrígu- “I lost my eye….” Breathing in deep and uneven -Morrígu- “Look at my face…. What’s left of it.” She pitched the mirror off the nearest wall. As it shattered some clichéd seven years bad luck saying sat on the edge of Boland’s tongue but he stepped on it before it passed his lips. When he finally spoke it was from the heart -Boland- “Still beautiful to me…” Now that pathetic excuse for offering solace was about as close to a corny line from some C rate box office failure as it can possibly get. And in the moment it was exactly what she needed to hear. She fell back in his arms and slept The Raven watched at a distance. And he was overwhelmed by a mysterious emotion that he had never been troubled by before: empathy

Ciarán and Laoch, the star wars universe incentive for an active MADD campaign now manned the YT-1300 light freighter. Hazardously dodging meteors and other natural obstacles at breakneck speed, the two talked casually -Laoch- “Gotta admit that woman has jam.” Laughing Ciarán nodded enthusiastically. Simple things make or break a team. In this particular case Morrígu losing half of her face earned her the respect and loyalty of these two vagabonds

Suddenly the YT-1300 Corellian freighter was sitting almost where it had originated from when it entered the wormhole. None challenged the obviously circular trajectory that followed passing into the wormhole. The ship sat idly floating through space as all inside adjusted to being back from where they had came. Now on her feet the woman muttered -Morrígu- "Well that would have been an enjoyable escape from reality if I hadn't been horrifically maimed in the process...." The Raven set down gracefully on her left shoulder. He was puzzled. Indeed, The Raven had intended to intervene then zap! And before he could move the beastly thing was turned to subatomic particles. Then awareness swept over him; it was the little girl who destroyed the thing attacking Morrígu. Moreover The Raven knew that none other among them, including Maureen herself understood this fact. She needed to be made conscious of this power she possessed, encouraged to use it yet beware of the consequences of misuse. Masking the pleasure her being alive created The Raven stated -Fiach Dubh- "Quite the licking you took there; try not and lose any face over it." Morrígu's eyes lit up with rage at the comment but she said nothing in response

It was Boland, now back in control of the ship again who responded -Boland- “I am taking us back to Juvex; we need regroup a bit.” None protested and onward they moved

She might have sent a distress signal out to Luxeria, but as far in as she was, Emma doubted it would reach the Sith Luxeria continued to fly next to the transport, patiently waiting as Emma did her work inside. She hadn't heard from Jack since they made their approach, nor saw him flying near-by. She guessed he was sitting back, waiting to come in if there was trouble, or they were ready to load. That was fine. If someone did show up, it was best to have someone to fly in unexpectedly to help out or keep them busy.
Kyra continued to keep scans of the area, trying to maintain their control of the situation. If someone showed up, they'd be ready....hopefully. No messages came, not even distorted static. She could only guess that things were progressing well inside and that Emma had things handled. Still, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was a bit off. The Force was stirring around her but she couldn't make out any details other than an unsettling feeling.
Deciding to try and keep her mind focused, she opted to move around the ship and see if there was anything of note she could pick up from the hull, though she doubted it. It was more to keep her mind focused while she waited. With that, she began pulling ahead and travelling at the front where the bridge might have been.
