The pair worked. And they poured their hearts and would into their work, as they always did. And they listened to the world around them. We O'Dubhui said 'Yesterday' both men looked up. O'Rathallie's snapping right index and middle fingers exclaimed -O'Rathallie- "Ceart!" And his colleague leaning in the direction of the colonel expanded -O'Maolchonaire- "And what these people fail to see is that they have started a war. " To which the other Sean chai added -O'Rathallie- "A never ending war." The both in spontaneously added -O'Maolchonaire and O'Rathallie- "For ever and ever and ever and ever..." The eerie oneness in their speech. And the pair in itself was reminiscent of monks in prayer, thus the conclusion chosen by Torna was oddly fitting -O'Maolchonaire- "Ta se raite agat." O'Rathallie echoing his colleague repeated -O'Rathallie- Ta se raite agat...."

Boland listened. And he thought. As the two Sean chai spoke. The chant so odd to many rang softly in his ears and brought him back for a fleeting moment to his youth. And as the Elders concluded he unconsciously responded forcefully -Boland- "Biodh amhlaidh!!!" Grace too spoke - Grace- "Aimean." And the child after her -Maureen- "Aimean...." Even The hound, now sitting on it's behind, seemed to straighten up. But The Raven perched on the woman's blind shoulder remained silent

And As the words scarcely had left the lips of the Elders when Slaughter responded -Sgt Slaughter- "Biodh se amlaidh." We will spare you the details kind reader but this vow was reciprocated on down the line by each and any remotely related to the crew. Juvexian troops guarding the boarder that separated Us from Them muttered in kind. Bystanders passing by were reigned in too. All but O'Dubhui, who remained silent. The colonel made a gesture with right hand from head to heart then right shoulder and crossing over to the left. And he said -Colonel O'Dubhui- "They brought this upon themselves...." And Slaughter simply replied -Sgt Slaughter- "Where do we start?" The colonel turned ever so slight -Colonel O'Dubhui- "draw up a list; we are done being nice here...." In truth the man found it hard to grasp how anyone would knowingly place this death wish upon themselves. And the bodhran beat out the song of war

The two Elders continued their dialouge. The contradictions were rolling in faster and thicker as they went through it all. But light was beginning to show through all the nonsensical ramblings of lesser entities. At one point it was O'Rathallie who spoke. Turning to the colonel -Aogan O'Rathallie- "My good man. Seems that you have something to say...." Attention turning back to O'Maolchonaire his ears remained open to a response And bodhran drum continued to beat....

Heads lifting to O'Rathallie's challenge the men sat still for a long moment. Then clearing his throat O'Dubhui responded -Colonel O'Dubhui- "Oh I have a response." After his history of space battles frankly he was stunned that these morons even tried to talk so loud. Their understanding of Manaan or for that matter of space defenses was nothing short of pathetic. The sergeant organised papers fast. This was going to be hang on. Frankly he wondered if any were even prepared to meet a shred of resistance. The CO began with an off the cuff statement -Colonel O'Dubhui- "Straight away I must say that after all my experience fighting in this universe for years that the opinions out of many are nothing short of baffling." Letting that lie in the air a long time he added - Colonel O'Dubhui- "So let me start with a bit of an education here.... " pouring a drink and lighting cigar number 3 of the day he looked around at his crew of few. Numbers he could count on

And There the pair of Ancients sat stoically. They had been silent for a long stretch. At some point O'Rathallie broke the silence and abruptly commented -Aogan O'Rathallie- "Torna, a chara mhaith, do you believe these people have the foggiest what they are doing?" Sitting up straight his colleague weighed the question for a moment then said -Torna O'Maolchonaire- "They are at best naive Younglings, at worse Elders who should know better...." He added filling out his blunt assessment of the state of Manaan - Torna O'Maolchonaire- "And all things betwixt the two." Nodding in agreement his fellow Elder expanded -Aogan O'Rathallie- Aye Torna, now it I have asked it before excuse me; I do not believe that these morons even have a clue who they tossed from The Mortus...." A thin smile grew on the face of O'Maolchonaire and he said -Torna O'Maolchonaire- "The Old man in his Youth would have piled them up like cord wood." Both men giggled uncontrollably for short time. The O'Rathallie dropped the bomb -Aogan O'Rathallie- "Just imagine if Keegan was here...." Both men burst out laughing

While The two Sean chai spoke Sgt Slaughter stood speaking with an officer of the Juvexian National Guard but Colonel O'Dubhui listened closely. After they had finished he too laughed at the mention of Keegan. She would drop people who dissed The Old man without a second thought. This nonsense he'd heard about their mother was odd in many a way. The point that topped it all in his opinion was a man asking her daughter to leave the bar. And citing the mother as central to this move. Kind of defined idiocy. Smirking he corrected himself. There was no 'kind of' to the thought; it was. He Wondered when - if - any would rise up and defend truth. He had been IF from the beginning. Before any of now talking on Manaan. Long before. His attention turned to the standoff. Was peaceful at the moment but he found that things such as this could explode at any time. And so he watched but he muttered -Colonel O'Dubhui- "Where is everybody?" Shaking head he continued -Colonel O'Dubhui- "I was in the IF flagship the day that he saved a small ship from the Vong . Lord Iniquitous was among those saved on that day." And he continued - Colonel O'Dubhui- "Was there when he told Tanith that she was touching Lord Mortus on Manaan 'Over kmy dear body.'" The aged officer shook his head - Colonel O'Dubhui- "This universe forgets their Greats."

Laoch and Kieran made sure that th at Grace and her tragic comedy of a family, that being Boland, that bloody bird, The Raven, Mareen and The hound were aboard the jalopy of a ship they called home. Kieran also settled in the two Sean chai. The brothers then exited the ship and commenced to burn everything that could not be stuffed aboard the ships that they had. Looking around himself menacingly the big man bellowed -Kieran- "An Crioch!" Following suit Laoch howled - Laoch- "An Crioch!" He followed that up by smashing a chair. Over Kieran's back. Collapsing under the brutal hit Kieran rolled and came up on both feet gun drawn but did not shoot. Standing he spoke - Kieran- "This way! Baboon...." The pair boarded the Utopic Vulture and commenced chilling

Whilst Kieran and Laoch were transparently losing there shite, Sgt Slaughter looked up to Colonel O'Dubhui who nodded and Slaughter began smashing anything and everything in sight. The Togs present joined in on the mayhew. Juvexian troops posted on the line separating themselves from these loons watched with jaws agape in disbelief. Three of Juvex's finest, swept up in the emotion, began smashing some of their own beloved property. Before the feeling caught on further a Juvexian officer fired his pistol in the air screaming -Juvexian Officer- "Men! Order!!! They are the animals here!" He fired off three more rounds before his own men ceased the destruction. O'Dubhui , Slaughter and the Togs continued, with four Togorian Commando taking up guard between the IF camp and Juvexian territory

The Wayfarer, The Poetic Buzzard took up the back of the formation. In front of it sat The Sentinel, Fart in a Windstorm on the right and Boland's Utopic Vulture at the left. Carved out a neat little "Us and Them" line. Exiting her ship with Boland at her side Grace, with The Raven perched on blind shoulder, walked confidently up to The Juvexian CO and calmed things down. Little room for guessing who was in control was left to the imagination; when she exited the Utopic Vulture those among her own who did not freeze the festivities immediately began cleaning up the mess they'd made. With all settled she returned to her ship. Before entering she turned and howled -Grace- "Oglaigh na Irandoideanne go bragh!!!" Things may well change but no vow of 'the end' came from her. Once in the ship she and her gaggle of lunatics connived and schemed. Eventually Grace settled into solitary reading, examining the history of her roots. Boland lie at her side eating up the new Universe Hunter and Angler magazine as Maureen past out to The Lorax. The Troops outside carried on with the burning but now set around a large but manageable pyre. Two skulls sat atop three meter high stakes at sides of the entrance to her ship, one on the right another the left. Peace betwixt the IF crew and the Juvexian National Guard was maintained. The agonizing beat of bodhran drum continued and at times the howl of Uillean pipe kicked in for brief screaming runs

Colonel O'Dubhui sat in counsel with Sergeant Slaughter as they attempted to figure out their next move. The situation was stable here hitch both agreed that Grace might have other plans. And to both ends they needed to be ready. As such they planned for that which was clear and present. And they planned as best that they could for the unknown. Cutting The most unlikely came first. The problem there was the penchant amongst those making decisions of doing exactly what others did not expect of them. Their experience with The Old man and his most bizarre but oft brilliant logic prepared them exceptionally well for such unpredictability. At some point the colonel put down his pen and spoke -Colonel O'Dubhui- "Sergeant let's get one thing clear that we are definitely not doing." Sgt Slaughter sat up straight But did not respond. And for that O'Dubhui silently thanked The Force. He thanked the deities of Gaels and pretty much every other species who embraced similar beliefs. He thanked Slaughter's now Dead and buried parents for raising their son right. And all that shite aside, he continued - Colonel O'Dubhui- "We are not sending that little girl in alone with nothing for company But that Unholy Buzzard." Slaughter almost leaned in and kissed the colonel But held himself in check. The aged colonel carried on - Colonel O'Dubhui- "Right off the hop The Old man never would have it; he'd have are heads on a pole for the suggestion." Shrugging - Colonel O'Dubhui- "And that I say just to elevate the point; we won't have it. And her... parents won't either." Then adding - Colonel O'Dubhui- "It's immoral. Even if the people we might be protecting most are those that they'll face." Then in conclusion - Colonel O'Dubhui- "They go anywhere it will be under all the CP that they deserve." Sgt Slaughter said nothing. Showed no discernable sign on his face But to O'Dubhui , who knew the man well, it was transparent that the sergeant agreed wholeheartedly. That specific option decisively dealt with, it was permanently shelved with no intention of ever revisiting the issue. And back into the possibilities the two returned. While the two officers conspired their troops kept up guard. And the Bodhran beat incessantly

While Slaughter and O'Dubhui stratagized on what they should do and one particular move they would not touch our bizarre little intergalactic JvS version of The Swiss Family Robinson did their thing on The Utopic Vulture. And around it. Grace, with the two Sean chai aiding her carefully went through Morrigan's personal effects. Grace started gentle but quickly began to enthusiastically root through the woman's personal effects. They were now rich. Stinking rich. They bounty was unreal. First came straight up capital, he it now under tight lock and key in some of the ships' many hidden storage compartments, or neatly tied up in banking institutions across the Uni wide. Then came the most bizarre assortment of individual riches collected over an equally bizarre lifetime. Some, Grace and indeed Boland coming from the same culture as An Tiarna, were familiar cultural artifacts but others were most exotic to her. The Raven sat passively on her blind shoulder. Two items confused her. Crystals? They were beautiful indeed and pulled you in to observe them. There she sat mesmerized looking intensely at the pieces. Then The Raven spoke sharply -The Raven- "They are Life Crystals. Put them aside. Safely." This broke the overwhelming hold that the objects had on Grace and she quickly but ever so delicately wrapped, boxed then stored the bizarre stones. And with that done she stood. A name flashed by her head and she said it quite but distinct -Grace- "Manaan?" A chain of connected thoughts and images flashed by her but she kept those internal

The scene in Juvex city was calm. Colonel O'Dubhui sat stunned for a long moment. This, so he thought, this is what The Old man would call Sitzkrieg - Sitting war. Nothing. Nothing, so he concentrated on what would come next. Breathing in deep he bit back into his hypothesizing. Agony. He would need to approach Grainne soon. Slaughter But a few feet away from him labored away with papers. Troops too went about their job. Calmly. And the Bodhran pounded

Three Tog Commando and the crew, Co-pilot and Pilot were all that remained of Plunkett's crew. The crewmen packed furiously as the Togs gently stripped there fallen comrades of weapons ammo and gear. As a group they walked over to the vessel of Colonel O'Dubhui. Guns drawn the Togorians stood like a wall covering the crewmen who had two carts packed with personal belongs and items looted from the ship. The two spoke -Co-pilot- "Ok what next?" Pilot responded fast -Pilot- "Got the beer?" His second in command answered - Co-pilot- "First thing that I packed." Cracking a bottle then another he looked long at the bottles. Finally he handed one to his superior. Pilot nodded, taking a long swig and -Pilot- "We find out what General Whatshisface here has to say then return to our ship I hope."

It was Sgt Slaughter who answered the pair of men and the three Tog Commando. He nodded to Pilot and Co pilot "Gentlemen. Come inside and we'll chat. The troops knew their role and stayed their position guarding outside. Slaughter led the cr e members in, seating them across from the colonel then taking his own seat beside the CO. They said nothing

Location: Juvex City - DocksBehind the helm of the modified Fairwind style transport, Lack of Faith II, the ewok bridge crew eased the vessel with the boar's head prow into a landing port. Wind and dust were kicked up as it came to a complete landing, then settled as the engines and repulsors powered down. The crew on the top deck were all leaning over the railing, getting a good look at the city. Bey Kahn did much the same, though he was analyzing more with his snout than with his eyes.Gamorreans didn't have the best eyesight. Their sense of smell, however, was exceptional. Hard to believe given their lack of basic hygiene, but very true, I assure you.Bey Kahn grabbed a rope ladder made from spun wookiee hair and tossed it over the side. He then slipped over the railing and slid down the ladder, rapidly descending to the harbor floor with an audible snap as his sandals struck ground. The furry tynnan merchants followed the same way, while the elder ewok and gamorrean shamans made their way through the ship's interior and down the ramp that had been lowered to unload cargo. The old boar took a breath of fresh air and snorted. Nothing like the smell of a new world to get these old bones of mine excited. Said the tactical droid head on his hip, translating his Gamorrese into Galactic Basic. I bet they've got good ale here."How can you tell?" Replied Greybeard as the silver furred ewok descended the ramp.Bey winked. The nose knows.

Pilot stood watching. Lighting a death stick and working on beer number he had lost count, he burped. Loudly. These crazies he worked for needed help. And not anything he could provide. A psychiatrist. Correction: a team of psychiatrists. Meanwhile, Co-pilot was behind the ship missing in privacy. Unfortunately he missed the apartment complex behind him. The one with numerous windows. For a brief time Co-pilot was more popular then anything on the holonet. Bloody idiot. And the few remaining of the Red Band cleaned weapons

Between the unusual design of their vessel and the even more unusual makeup of its crew, it was hard to go unnoticed on a planet like Juvex, which was actually a part of their business strategy. The Cap'n was all about branding. There was a green pig face painted on just about everything they sold, from the gamorrean beer they brewed to the Endorian Kush they grew and pushed.
As such they drew onlookers. A big burly gamorrean boar, two decrepit looking shamans, and a half dozen little furry tynnans mechants. Yeah, it wasn't a sight you'd see every day. They left the docks and walked further into the city, keeping an eye on local shopping stalls and boutiques where they could try to barter for supplies.
Bey Kahn reached into the front pocket of his apron and withdrew a stogey. He put it between his lips, chewing off a nub and spitting it on the ground. He then lit the tip and inhaled fresh smoke, letting it linger for just a moment longer than was necessary before exhaling. Then in a booming voice he began to squeal to the crowds in the market place. The droid head on his hip that served as his translator struggled to imitate his volume.
Freelancers! Freelancer looking for work! I got builders, I got trained mercenaries and guards, I got velvety soft ewok maiden massage therapists, I got engineers and mechanics. Folks, you need it, I got it! I got lumberjacks and laborers, I got shamans that can let you speak to the dead, I got swoop bike enthusiasts that can customize your ride!
He continued to walk through the market, shouting as he went.

Aboard The Utopic Vulture all was copacetic. Grace and Boland in their private chambers hopelessly entangled in the others business. Mentally and physically. The Raven sat perched on a high corner of the common area, pondering it he should will a testicle crushed. The mere idea of Boland, writhing on the floor with hands between his thighs moaning in agony uplifted The Raven immensely. As the other adults wasted air breathing and talking, Maureen stole out the exit with The hound. Only The Raven noticed Once outside the ship the little girl spoke but she whispered -Maureen- "Now we need to visit An Tiarna's grave. Shhh!' With that she tore off and The hound followed. And in no time there theywere. Both The hound and the child sat silently

It was after a long day of selling their services that Bey Kahn found himself sitting on a bench near the IF camp. The old boar was sitting alone, having dismissed the rest of his traveling companions earlier in the market, accompanied now only by his thoughts. Well, that...and a ham sandwich, and a cold brewskie. He wolfed down the sandwich in two bites and sipped on the beer, enjoying the cool breeze that blew its way through the area.
Not a bad trip so far. They'd manage to find work lending out their gamorrean crewmembers to a local construction firm digging ditches. Not the most glamorous of jobs, but hey, somebody had to do it. So far no takers on the massages offered by the female ewoks aboard; however, that was more of a niche market. They'd probably have no end of customers if they had tried that on Kashyyyk.
Bey Kahn had a chuckle at that thought as he polished off the last few drops of his beer. He wasn't a fan of drinking the amber gold out of a bottle, but that's how the locals sold it on the go, so he made do. He got up from his seat and dropped his empty into a recycling receptacle on the corner. At the edge of his vision something drew his attention. A ways out from the camp was a little girl and some kind of mutt, just standing about some sort of headstone.
Huh. He thought, scratching his head. Curiosity getting the better of him, the old boar in his signature apron and shirt with no sleeves walked over in the direction of the child and mutt. He felt the urge to light up a stogey, but quelled the desire, not being one to smoke around children.
