A chill runs up my spine, and I tighten my grip on my lightsaber.
What do you want with me?

Again Electrix laughed. She would find out in due time, but now it was time to break her. He strengthened the Darkness, making it chokingly thick. He would break her...
I feel your fear, I can taste it. I can help you with that fear. I can make sure you never fear your fear again. I can make you use your fear to make you stronger. Tell me, why are you afraid?

The darkness grows, blacking out even the dim purple glow from my lightsaber. I squeeze my eyes shut and try to suppress the fear I feel. Perhaps this is why I'm here, I think. Perhaps I've been called to Kashyyyk to eliminate this evil. When I open my eyes, the world seems slightly brighter.
Why would I not be afraid? I reply through the Force. It's a natural response to a threat. But I don't let fear control me--I master it, instead of running from it or trying to use it to, as you say, make me stronger. That's the difference between what I am and what you are.

Electrix's tone lost its laughter and turned deadly serious. She was fighting it, a well trained Jedi. We shall see just how well trained...
Jedi and Sith are no different. Unnless you want to include the fact Jedi are afraid to explore the fullness of the Force. The light is limited, but the darkness is limitless.

I know that's how you see it. I won't deny there's power in darkness--I've felt it. But, in the end, it makes you its slave, despite what you tell yourself.
It's difficult to tell where the presence is emanating from, but I can feel it nearby. I slowly walk forward to see if it becomes any stronger. The silence is striking--perhaps the wildlife was driven off by the crash, or perhaps the darkness here keeps them away.

The Jedi are the slaves, bound to your codes, laws and ethics. I answer to no one. The Darkness does not bind me, only death currently does, but not for long....
Electrix made sure to guide her toward his tomb, she should soon seen the paranormal looking red glow coming from the darkside fueled light fixtures that lit his tomb and its entrance...

You only become a slave to codes and laws when you adhere to them blindly. I won't deny that some Jedi make that mistake, but I never have.
I catch sight of a red light shining faintly through the trees off to my left, and I stop short. I reach out through the Force, casting as wide a net as I can manage, but I feel nothing except the sinister presence. As I expected, it seems to emanate from the same place as the light. I stand there, unsure of whether to approach.
How long have you been here?

Time has little meaning for the dead...
To be honest, Electrix had no clue how long he had been dead. Could be days, could be years...

I step forward, approaching the light slowly and cautiously.
And believe you've found a way to reverse death?

Yes, and no. I have found evidence that there is potentially a way to defeat death. But I need someone living to finish my investigation into it. You see, my spirit is bound to this tomb and cannot leave, However, great power awaits for anyone who helps me...

Electrix smiled, it felt good to have someone do his bidding once again. He might also gain a new apprentice to boot.
I have it on good authority that Darth Plagueis experimented with ways to cheat death and extend life. It is my belief that he may have discovered a way to return from death. Darth Plagueis was killed by his apprentice, Darth Sidious in the penthouse of Kaldani Spires Residential Apartments on Coruscant. It is where he lived. There may be more information on his experiments there. But as I said before, I cannot travel there. As for the great power I promised, if you are successful and loyal to me in this endeavor, I will make you my apprentice, train you in the dark arts, and make you more powerful than you have ever been...
Electrix felt out in the darkness, finding the Force signature of this Force sensitive, enjoying her mixed emotions. He would turn this one...

I hesitate, then decide to play along--after all, a Jedi should seek knowledge, whatever its source.
Very well. I make no promises, but I will look into this for you. Getting there might prove difficult, however, unless you know a way out of the Shadowlands.

But of course...
Suddenly the darkness lifted, like light had been flipped on. Celia would see that just past Electrix's tomb was a trail. This trai would lead to Kashyyyk Royal City...

I breathe a sigh of relief as the darkness lifts. Without another word or even a glance back at the tomb, I set off hurriedly up the trail. I walk for what seems like hours, thinking through the situation. The spirit must be desperate indeed to entrust a task like this to a Jedi--that, or, more likely, there's an angle to this I'm not seeing. I resolve to be wary of betrayal. Then, there is the matter of the task itself, which I doubt will be as easy as the spirit made it seem. Darth Plagueis died many years ago; surely his belongings can't have remained in his home undisturbed all this time. It may be a good place to start, but I expect my search will take me elsewhere.
At last, I reach the lift that will take me to the Royal City. I look back down the path, surprised I was able to make it this far without encountering any of the Shadowlands' vicious wildlife. The last time I was down here, Master Harkin and I had to fight for our lives; today, I didn't see so much as a tach, let alone anything truly dangerous. Odd. Perhaps this was a gesture of good faith from the Sith spirit. I shrug and step into the lift.

Gavin had been walking for hours, progressing deep into the Shadowlands. Slowly the light had faded from view as the Forest grew thicker with each step. Darkness was the only that could be seen, barely any view of light, surely not enough to walk by. Gavin had given up using his eyes some time ago, using Force Sight to guide him on. He had lost track of time in here. There was no telling whether night had fallen, or even if it had already dawned a new day. But time was of no concern to him. For years had he wandered planets, no one to see, nothing to do. So what was different about this time?
He knew the dangers of this place. Once had he come here, leaving behind his essence for others to find, a quest, so to speak, in order to claim a pair of weapons that he once wielded. He had made sure to place it where a terentatek roamed to give them a challenge. And now here he was, back in the heart of that danger. But danger did little to bother him. What was fear but an empty feeling. He could feel it should he need to use it in battle, but otherwise, it no longer held sway for him.
He continued to walk a bit more before suddenly coming to a stop. He merely let of a small sigh before dropping his bag to his feet. He brought his hands together in front of his chest and pushed them out, cracking his knuckles. Letting them rest at his side once again, he stretched his fingers as far as could before tightening them into tight fists. His head drop just slightly, his eyes already closed from using Force Sight. A few moments passed and nothing happened. With a slight grunt his head turned to his right ever so slightly.
"Well. Come on then. I don't have all day."
Just behind him were three Katarns. One along the ground and two within the trees. For some time, Gavin had realized he was being followed. It hadn't bothered him up until now. He had no worry about the Katarns but being followed was just a bother.
As if in response to Gavin's challenge, the one at the ground leapt at Gavin. Gavin spun to his left as the Katarn came, his right hand reaching up to the hilt of his sword. In a single fluid motion, he spun, bringing the blade of his back. The tip came to the ground and scraped against it before coming up at an angle at the Katarn, slicing through its belly. It fell to the ground in two pieces. Gavin looked up to see the other two Katarn were gone from their spots. He wasn't fool enough to believe they ran. They had moved from their spot, ready to attack again.
And so they did, coming from each side of him. They were swift, moving with out hardly a sound. Had Gavin's senses not been as sharp as they were, he wouldn't have heard them. He lept up into a backflip, letting the two pass by. As he touched, he lunged at the one that had passed him and headed to his left. He brought it down as it turned towards him, able to see him long enough to have the blade cleave its head in two. He turned his head as the other made its attack. Gavin held out a hand and Force Pushed it, sending it back a few feet. Gavin jumped after it, plunging his blade into it's heart as it hit the ground. Gavin looked around, but sensed no more. At least, for now there wasn't.
Reaching down, he took a leaf as he removed the blade from the Katarn, using it to wipe the blood away. Placing the blade back on his back he walk over to his stuff and grabbed it up before progressing onwards.

Electrix grew angry in his tomb. Those katarns were his. Well not exactly hips, but being in the same part of the Shadowlands, and controlling them when he wanted, he felt like they were his. Who was this that they could come here and do what they wanted?

Gavin continued to press on. He hadn't felt anything else following, which was good. Aside from him hate being stalked like prey, he hated having to kill anything. But down here, he knew, killing was something that was always going to possibly happen. Danger was everywhere, hunter and the hunted. There were few places in the galaxy in which survival held such a danger level.
He remembered his time on Dagobah. He had left the Jedi at the time. He had been sent by the Jedi Council to Garqi with his master to resolve a political dispute. It was the first mission he was given as a Jedi Knight. But his master had proven to be a Sith ever since he joined the Jedi. He had hoped Gavin would join him, but Gavin refused and they fought. Gavin stopped where he was as the memories came flowing back.
*A few hours had passed before the alarm sounded that they were approaching Garqi. Master pulled the ship out of hyperspace and they flew into the planet's orbit. Garqi was a planet that was much like Yavin IV. Forests, plains, and oceans made up the temperate climate of the planet. A place one would feel comfortable living. It had been conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong many years ago, but recently the Yuuzhan Vong was ran out, leaving it open to be run by humans, according to reports.
Master got the coordinates as to the location that they were meant to go and made the approach. As they drew close, they saw a large building that had ships coming and going. This was where they were meeting the parties. The central buiding within the capital city of Pesktda.*
"This is Jedi transport Revelation. We're from the Jedi Temple on Yavin IV here to meet with your leader."
*Master spoke into the comms, waiting for landing approval and instruction.
A few moments passed before a voice came over the comm in response.*
"Roger that, Revelation. Our leader has been expecting you. Please make your way to hanger five."
*Master looked over to Phenom and nodded as he brought the ship down towards the instructed hanger. The ship entered gracefully and made its way over to a landing spot. From the cockpit, Phenom could see a group of people standing nearby. By what he figured, one of them was the leader. Master powered down the ship and they exited, the group of men waiting for them at the bottom of the ramp. Over the five men there, one stepped forward and spoke.*
"It is an honor to have you here, master Jedi. Your presence is a joy to have. I am Quen Dencorn. I am the leader of Garqi. Please, follow me."
*Quen motioned for them to follow as he began to make his way out of the hanger. The group made their way into a corridor of hallways that seemed to cross back and forth. They walked for a few minutes, turning here and there until they finally reach a set of doors. Quen went over to a control pad next to it and entered a code. Once the code was inputed, the doors opened to reveal another group inside. Phenom quickly focused on the group and assume them to be the other party. They wasted no time themselves in trying to get things settled.*
"Please, have a seat."
*Quen held out a hand and offered the Jedi a place to sit.
A man from the other group stood to his feet and bowed.*
" I am Rento Jenhari. I am the leader of the opposing party to the current leader."
*Rento looked at Quen and sparks flew momentarily.
Phenom nodded with returned respect to the man and placed his on the table they sat at. He looked to his master that sat to his left. He was there, eyes shut and head tilted down as if he was sleeping. For a moment, he felt something strange, but let it passed. Phenom then looked to his right at Quen.*
"So let us get down to business. I understand that you are having difficulties between each other politically. Please explain."
Quen nodded, confident that is point would be best heard.*
"As you know About a year ago, the Yuuzhan Vong were run off the planet. Ever since, we have been trying to rebuild the government here. So far things have gone smoothly. The people elected me to be in charge. I believe in democracy. I desire for everyone's voice to be heard and everyone's opinion to matter."
Rento stood to his feet, stopping Quen from speaking further.*
"That way might be the best way in your dreams, but this is reality. How do you expect such a plan to get this planet back on its feet? The planet is in shamble from the rule the Yuuzhan Vong had on it. Letting the people make their on choices, how can anything get done. No, there is only one way to truly run this government. That's by a small group of people making all the choices. With a small group controlling everything, things will get done faster."
*Quen stood and looked at Rento with burning eyes.*
"And what happns when the people don't approve? At least with leaving the choice to the people, they had a say."
"And when one set of people don't like the choice another has made, they'll turn and fight each other. No with one group in control, we'll avoid all that. We can control the way this planet's rises."
*At the last words from Rento, the sparks began to fly again as Rento and Quen had a stare down.
Phenom rubbed his head for a moment, carefully thinking about the path that needed to be taken. Then, the first words spoken since they landed, Master spoke.*
"So you desire to make the choices for everyone, to control the way this place gets on its feet, being its rulers. The dictators, the sole rulers and decision makers of the planet, correct?"
*He looked up to Rento, his look unreadable.*
"Yes, that's pretty much it. You must see that this is the only way for this planet to rise up. And when it does, we can expand ourselves and show others the power we can hold."
*Master looked down again as a smile crept to his face. Then he let a chuckle pass his lips. The chuckle then rose to a laugh as he stood to his feet. He looked back to Rento, a look that Phenom had never seen before. A dark look and the feeling he felt earlier resurfaced. The next words he spoke sent chills down Phenom's spine.*
"I like it. But as long as Quen here is the leader, that desire of yours is a fantasy. Let's make it reality."
*Master jumped up onto the table and removed his lightsaber, igniting the lava colored blade and brought it down to cut Quen in half.
Everything happened in an instant. The next thing Phenom knew was he was between his master and Quen, on the floor, his brilliant blue saber crossed against Master's, holding it at bay. The screeching sounds of the sabers pressed against each other filled the room and the flashing light reflected off Phenom's silver curved handled lightsaber. he grunted at the force Master put upon him.*
"Why? Why are you doing this? This isn't the way of the Jedi."
*Phenom grunted, forcing the words out.*
""Why? Don't you see? That is the only way to live. To hold power and control the weaklings. It's time for the true power of people to rise, starting right here. It's the way of the Sith. The Jedi are weak and foolish. How can anyone follow such a fool's path."
*Phenom felt his anger rise. This man, the man that trained him and showed him the way of the Jedi, the whose strength inspired Phenom. It all seemed to fall apart at those words. The one thing he learned to fight against, the thing he learned was the enemy of the Jedi, Master spoke to be.*
"The Sith? But you taught me the way of the Jedi. How can you be a Sith? And since when?"
*Phenom pushed with all his strength, forcing Master to jump back, giving Phenom a moment to breath.*
"I've always been with the Sith. Ever since the Jedi found me. It has been my mission to infiltrate and give up all the secrets and plans they had. Now the choice is yours, Phenom. Join me. Help me dismantle the Jedi. Join me or die. Which will it be?"
"I'll never join you!"
*Phenom jumped onto the table then lept at Master, saber pulled back, ready to strike.
Master smile as he slashed up to meet Phenom's blade. Once Phenom touched ground, he spun to his left in attempt to cut into Master's gut. Master parried the attack easily, turning with the blades still locked, pushing him back and making him give ground. Phenom struck overhead, then an attack from below, before blocking a strike a Phenom's left shoulder. Phenom gripped his saber with both hands and pushed the locked sabers to his right and towards the ground. Once low, Phenom brought his saber up the path of Master's arm in attempt to take his head. master used Force Reflex and moved his head back just out of range.
Master launched a Force Push at Phenom's chest. He flew back and landed hard on his back as Master jumped into the air and brought his saber down. Phenom brought his saber over hard, pushing it to the side as Phenom kicked into Master's chest, pushing him back a little. Phenom quickly made his way to his feet and stood strong, not making the first move. He waited, staying calm, edging master to come first, hoping that he'd grow impatient thus loosing focus.
Master watched as Phenom stood there as if the fight was having no affect on him. Master snarled a bit, Phenom's plan succeeding. He Force Sped up to Phenom and swept a kick at his legs. Phenom Force Jumped and flipped over Master's head, slashing out as he did so. Master blocked the attack and turned as Phenom landed, taking the moment to slash down into Phenom's back. Phenom could sense the attack and rolled forward as Master's saber cut into the floor. Phenom got to his feet and turned to Master as Master pulled his saber from the floor. Both looked dead at each other. One of them would die, and which one determined how many others died. Phenom couldn't rest. He had to stop master.
Master glared at Phenom, hoping to shake his confidence. In truth, Master had not expected Phenom's combat abilities to be as good as they were. He was slowing things down. He couldn't let Phenom delay things any further. Master ran towards Phenom and was surprised to see Phenom doing the same. The two met, sabers slashing back and forth as they moved further down the hall, into a darker part. Master gained some ground and pressed Phenom into the wall.*
"I'm going to kill you now, Phenom. I have to admit, you do have potential. You would have made a great Sith. But I'll let you know something before I kill you. My name. I never forgot it. I just hide the memories of my past so the Jedi couldn't read them."
*Master moved closer and whispered into Phenom's ear.*
"My name is Uriah Anneri."
*Even now, Master, now Uriah, had lied to everyone. He deceived them all. He used them to help the Sith be stronger. No punishment would be enough for him. Phenom would make sure he paid for them. Phenom pushed hard and forced Uriah back.*
"And I will not forget that name, even long after I kill you."
"Only in your dreams."
*Uriah jumped at Phenom and Phenom jumped to the side. It was clear he didn't have the strength to keep going against a skilled opponent like Uriah for much longer and expect to win. He had to be smarter. His eyes narrowed, looking deep into the eyes of the man he once called master. For a moment, he lost them. The shadows blocked them. This gave Phenom the idea he needed. He extinguished his blade and jumped back into the shadows. Uriah followed and struck, the opening he needed now that Phenom was defenseless.*
"Foolish to put your saber away in the middle of battle. You'll pay dearly for it."
*Uriah brought his saber down in the location h thought Phenom was. But his saber only found the wall. Uriah froze in disbelief. He was certain Phenom was there. Then he heard it. The igniting of another lightsaber. He saw out of the corner of his eye the bright blue blade as he came down and cut his head off. Uriah's body fell lifeless to the ground next to his head and his saber shut itself of and rolled across the ground.
Phenom stood there for the longest, looking at the body. For those few moments, the weight of what he did, the life of the one he took sat heavily upon him. This was the first kill he ever made. he had learned to fight with everything. His teachers at the academy made sure he knew what the experience would be like, but never had he taken a life. Now he had and the blood was on his hands. It had to be done, no doubt, but it didn't change the feeling of emptiness for the few passing minutes. But with some time, Phenom finally moved, replacing his saber and taking his Uriah's. In those last minutes, he was the enemy, but for most of Phenom's life, he was his master. Holding to the saber showed respect not only as a mentor, but perhaps honor as a warrior who defeated his enemy. Whatever it truly meant, Phenom chose to hold onto it. he looked again at the lifeless body bfore making his way down the hall to where the others were.
As Phenom entered, he looked to the see Quen and Rento shaking hands. They noticed Phenom and moved over to him.Quen looked Phenom over for a moment, taking in the fact he returned alone. He took a deep breath before speaking, feeling that Phenom taking another Jedi's life would scar his mind.*
"So, I take it he is dead?"
*Phenom looked up and nodded slowly. His words were cold and empty. *
"Yes. He is dead."
"I see. I'm sorry for your loss."
"Thank you, Quen. It seems you two have settled things out."
*Quen nodded with a smile. *
"Yes. After seeing him attack so quickly and you standing to fight, realizing that one would not come back alive, it made us realize that if we continue to fight for the way the planet is run, then we too, as a growing nation will eventually meet the same fate. So we have agreed to work together, taking each others ideas to create an even better future than either of us have alone."
"That I am glad to hear. In the end, it seems our mission was a success."
*Rento stepped forward, the thoughts of their mission weighing on his mind.*
"What will you do, now that you killed a fellow Jedi? I'm sure they would like to know that he was a spy for the Sith, wouldn't you agree?"
*Phenom nodded.*
"Yes, they must know. But I cannot return to them. Please, report to the Jedi that the mission was successful. Tell them the events that revealed he was a Sith and that his name was Uriah Anneri. And tell them I fell to him trying to defend you and that your guards were able to bring him down as he killed me." *Phenom closed his eyes, lost in thought for a moment.* " I must go into exile."
"I can't say I understand why you wish to do this. It was discovered that he was a Sith and we are witness to it, but we are not here to choose your path. But if there's anything we can do to help, please let us know. It's the least we can do for what you have done for us." Quen said.
"If perhaps you could allow me a ship of my own to leave this place on. I'm leaving the transport we came on here with you."
"I'll be sure to tell the crew in the hanger to make a ship ready for you by the time you get to the hanger."
"Thank you, Quen."
*Phenom bowed to Quen and Rento and made his way to the hanger.
The crew indeed had a ship ready by the time he got there. They escorted him to a X-wing fighter. It had been a back-up, but given the situation, they allowed it to go in Phenom's possession. He climbed into the cockpit and started the systems up. He lifted the ship off the ground, pulling it out of the hanger and into orbit. He knew where he wanted to go. He jumped into hyperspace for his new destination soon after the coordinates were entered.*
That was how Gavin had ended up on Dagobah, and had remained their for a year before leaving and sought out the Grey. He shook his head. Memory after memory had been coming to him ever since he landed here. What was the Force wanting? Or was it just coincidence that he was taking time to remember? It didn't matter. He was growing tired and needed to rest. Probably a foolish choice indeed, but it was needed. He Force Jumped up, bouncing off tree trunks until he got to a branch. He removed his sword and bag and let them rest in his lap. Leaning back on the trunk, he bgan to let himself fall into a light sleep. Ever since Dagobah, he had learned to be a light sleeper and allowed the Force to stretch from him a bit so that he would be able to react should something attack him.
As he let himself fade, one thing did run along his mind. Ever since the Katarn, he got hints of the presence of another. He couldn't make it out, nor locate it. In the end, it didn't mater. Unless he was attacked, there was nothing to concern himself about. With that final thought, he fell asleep.

Amidst his sleep, Gavin began to toss slightly. Despite how light it was, dreams followed heavily into his mind. Dreams of death and loss and emptiness. All the things trapped within his memories from years passed continued to plague his being. The first of the things he saw was when he was four, the day he had lost his family. What started as a trip to the place his father grew up, Tatooine, turned into a nightmare that haunted him to this day.
"Hey, dad. What's that?" *Falcor asked as he pointed to it.
Rav looked out and smiled. "That, Falcor, is a sand whirlwind. They are created when wind comes from two different angles. When they meet, they cause a spiraling motion and causes the sand to lift off the ground and spin with the wind. They are beautiful to look at, but people try to avoid them. Some are weak and don't do anything, but some can be destructive a bit. That one would probably knock us over. No matter how strong they are though, if you get caught in one, it'll be like a very small sand storm."
Rav turned the speeder so they could follow and watch the whirlwind for a bit longer. They followed it for a few kilometers until they began to come across some rocks. About that time, the sand fell as the whirlwind stopped. Rav stopped the speeder. Over to the left was a canyon. Deciding to look at some different scenery, he turned the speeder towards it. They entered and went slow, allowing the children to look at the rocks. They looked in awe at the different shapes created by the wind and sand. This was something they didn't see often. Naza had rocks like this, only they were few and were created by water. Sand had a different effect on it.
Rav stopped the speeder and let the kids get out and look at the rocks a bit more closely.*
"Wow, look at these rocks." *Gavin at them, running his hand over some smooth ones.*
"These are cooler. They look like teeth." *Falcor pointed to some rocks sticking out of the ground at an angle.
Rav and Ella stood back and watched the kids playing around on the rocks, smiling. It was good to see them happy and seeing new things. They always enjoyed an adventure. Letting them see these things now would allow them to have a greater knowledge about what awaited them when they were older.
Rav laughed at his children, playing around the rocks. It reminded him of his childhood. Suddenly, his laughing stopped and his smile faded. He began to look around. He sensed something. Something was coming.*
"Falcor, Gavin, Kia. Get back in the speeder with your mother. Whatever happens, don't get out." *He looked back at Ella.* [[<<Should anything happen, get out of here.>>]]
[[<<What is it, love?>>]]
[[<<Something is coming.>>]]
*As the children climbed back into the speeder, the sky above them began to turn dark. Darkness could be felt approaching. The children began to huddle close together as they became more frightened about what was going to happen. The sky got darker and ice started forming, making its way towards Rav. It was not normal to see ice appear on Tatooine. The ice grew closer and once about two feet away, a dark figure shimmered in front of him. Rav knew this man.*
"Reverence." *Rav just stared at him, not backing down.
The man walked up a bit to Rav before stopped. His oily black eyes looked into Rav's.*
"Rav."
"What do we owe the pleasure of your company?"
"The end of the D'Naga line. And I'll start with its weakest links."
*Out of nowhere, Reverence punched Rav hard in the chest. Rav flew back a foot or two and landed on his back. He flipped over to his knees and looked at Reverence.*
"I'm guessing we're not going to have a meaningful conversation."
*Rav quickly got to his feet and ran at Reverence. As Rav got close, Reverence ignited his lightsaber, the ice blue blade emerging from the dark hilt. As it ignited, Reverence brought it around in a slash at Rav's left side. Rav dropped down in a slide, allowing him to slide past Reverence's legs. He quickly stood and kicked at Reverence's back. The kick connected and Reverence stumbled forward a bit. He quickly turned, pointing his blade out at Rav. Rav could see in Reverence's eyes that he was serious in wanting to kill his family and him. He stood ready, prepared for Reverence's next attack.*
"You'll never hurt my family, Reverence. On my life, you will not touch them."
"You're right about one thing, old friend. You will die as will they."
*Reverence jumped at Rav, slashing from left to right. Rav ducked as the slash passed over and stood, bringing his arm up to meet Reverence's as he brought the blade back in another slash from right to left. Rav was face to face with Reverence, the breath of one being felt by the other. Rav brought his other arm up to slam Reverence's saber arm. Reverence dropped his saber and flipped to the side at an awkward angle. In this angle, Reverence spun around, bending down slightly and brought his other arm up between Rav's legs. Reverence picked him up and threw him over his head and slammed Rav hard into the rock ground. Rav spun around in a sweep kick at Reverence's ankles. Reverence back flipped twice to gain some distance and dropped to a knee, preparing his stance. Rav got on a knee and followed suit. The two eyed each other for what seemed to be an eternity.
The family watched from the speeder at the events that took place. Fear fell over the family as they watched their father fight this being. The Supreme Shadow Demon, the dark side of the Shadows. Ella tried to start the speeder, but for some reason, it wouldn't start.*
"Come on! Start!" *she exclaimed, panic overtaking her body as she kept looking at her husband, trying to start the speeder.
Rav moved first as he used Force Speed to come around to Reverence's side, giving a spin kick coming from the back. Reverence rolled forward and brought his hand up to block another kick. Keeping his arm up to block, he punched Rav's side that he kicked from, hoping to use the imbalance to his advantage. Rav twisted his body, breaking from the block and missing the punch as he brought his foot around to kick Reverence's legs out from under him. The kick connected sending Reverence to his back. He wasn't down long as he kicked himself back to his feet. He Force Pushed Rav back into the rock wall, barely missing the rugged section that stuck out. Reverence Force Sped at Rav to punch him in the gut. Rav timed things just right and flipped up as Reverence's punch met the hard rock wall. Rav's feet planted against the wall and he pushed away, spinning as he touched the ground so he faced Reverence.
Reverence turned as he brought his hand away from the wall. He looked at Rav, hate burning in his eyes.*
"No more games. Now you die."
*Without any warning, Reverence shimmered away. He quickly reappeared behind Rav and summoned his lightsaber to him. It flew up from its place on the ground to his hand. Rav started to turn to counter, but far too late. As he faced Reverence, Reverence brought the hilt up and ignited the blade, sending it straight through Rav's chest. Blood gushed out of his mouth as he coughed. He slowly brought his hand up and placed it on the hilt. With half open eyes, he looked into Reverence's.*
"It's not over, Reverence. " *His words came out muffled and in whipsers.
Reverence smirked.* "You're right, Rav. It's not over." *He looked up at Ella and the children as he ripped the saber from Rav's chest.
Rav's body threw itself back as the blade was ripped from him. He then fell to the ground, lifeless. Ella screamed at the top of her lungs as she watched her husband fall. The speeder then started up and she sped off into the distance. Reverence just watched as they disappeared from sight.*
"We have to go back, mom. We have to help dad," *Falcor said over the wind.*
"Yeah, we have to get that guy," *Gavin said in agreement.*
"Both of you be quiet. There is nothing we can do. And your father would want you three to live, not die by his hand. We are getting out of here and getting you three to safety," *Ella said, still trying to calm herself after seeing her husband killed before her eyes.*
*They traveled away from the fight and saw the edges of the city in front of them. Safety lie right on the other side of the walls. Just when they thought they were in the clear, Reverence shimmered onto the hood of the speeder.*
"You can't escape."
*Reverence brought his blade down and slashed across the front of the speeder, cutting right through it. As he got to the end, he flipped off the front to the ground as the speeder lost all power and control and slammed into the ground. Ella slammed hard into the dash as the kids went flying out. Reverence walked over to the crashed speeder and looked down at the disoriented Ella.*
"There is nowhere you can go that will escape me. You die here."
*He picked her up with the Force. When she seemed stable enough, he slammed his fist into her gut. She coughed up blood at the impact. A second after he hit her, he pulled his fist back and ran his blade through her chest. She cried out and her eyes went wide before going limp on the hilt. He removed the blade and she fell to the ground, dead. The kids watched as Reverence stabbed their mother.*
"Momma!" *Kia cried out, tears welling up in her eyes.*
"You'll pay for killing our mom and dad," *Falcor said in anger. Gavin didn't say anything, only let the anger build inside of him.*
*Reverence only smirked at the children's claims and began walking slowly towards them. Without hesitation, the children ran at Reverence. Falcor jumped and grabbed his arm and began hitting it, Kia jumped on his left leg and began hitting and biting at it, and Gavin got behind him and jumped on his back and began to hit and kick him. Reverence was taken off guard that the children actually charged him and began attacking him, despite how pathetic the attempts. Reverence threw his arm out and sent Falcor flying. He landed a few feet away and slid across the ground. Reverence then kicked out, also sending Kia flying. He released a Force Push after her and sent her flying further back behind a sand dune. He reached behind him and grabbed Gavin and threw him hard. Gavin landed on some rocks, hitting his head and rendering him unconscious.*
*Reverence approached Gavin and stood there eyeing him.* "So much anger within these children. Perhaps they would make good Sith."
*He looked at Gavin a bit longer before deciding he was dead. He cared nothing for the girl that disappeared behind the dunes. He then focused his attention on Falcor, who was slowly trying to get to his feet. Reverence reached down and grabbed him, lifting him off the ground.*
"You'll do well as a Sith."
*Reverence collapsed in a pool of smoke with Falcor, leaving Gavin and Kia for dead.*
The image faded to black as the cries of his mother and father rung through his head. There was nothing they could have done to save them, but he couldn't help, for the longest, to feel guilt about not saving them. Even now, that guilt still held some sway, though it would never hold as something someone could use against him.
But a new scene, another memory began to play within his mind, very similar to the one he just had. This time, it was his adoptive parents, the ones his grandfather had taken him to when he found Gavin lying there alone in the sand. Nine years later and he was force to bare relived memories.
*Time began to get away from him as the two suns began to set, bringing forth the starry night once again. It wasn't until the suns were gone completely and the three moons hung over head that Phenom realized how late it was. He turned the speeder around and headed home as fast as he could. He knew he was going to hear it from only half doing his chores, now he was also going to hear it for being out so late.
He finally reached the house, but to find something unexpected. Banthas right outside the house. And if they were there, so were Tusken Raiders. He stopped the speeder a little ways out and cut the power. He pulled out the case that held his rifle and opened it. He didn't know why they were here, but he wasn't going to take chances. He kept the rifle at the ready as he slowly approached the house.
He looked down into the center opening and saw two of them. They were tearing through their things. Obvious now that they were here to take what they had. He raised his rifle and aimed down at them. He would have to be quick to take them out quickly. He never really liked the idea of killing anything, even now. So when he shot, he took them down bearing injuries, but still alive. He jumped down the side and moved further in as he stayed alert for any others to appear.
The further he moved in, he began to hear something like that of a struggle. It was coming from his parents room. Once at the door to his parents room, he peeked around he corner to see what was happening. The first thing he saw was his mother curled up in the corner, tears in her eyes. Two more Tusken Raiders stood there, as if to keep her from running. He peeked in further to find his father. He was in the center, fighting off the chief. The grunts of both the chief and Jenam were clear as bells now. He watched the fight, uncertain at that, moment what to do. The fight continued on, his father seeming to have the upper hand.
He saw two other raiders on the other side of the room. Five in all. He needed to help them. He raised his rifle slowly and quietly. he aimed at the two by his mother. One shot, then two, both going to the floor in screams. He didn't have time to respond as the other two Raiders began firing on him. He pulled back and ran down the hall. He didn't make it far as another Raider appear from no where and knocked him to his feet. Phenom was drug back to the room and pinned on his knees to watch the fight.
Jenam fought hard against the leader, fighting for his family. But all he had to fight with was a wooden staff he had. One would think it wouldn't be enough, but in this case, it seemed to be all he needed. He pressed and drove the leader back into the wall, forcing the raider to move to the side, only to get pushed back again. Phenom could see the desire, see the purpose flowing from his father, despite his old age. The fight burned itself into Phenom's mind, the very passion and desire filling Phenom's heart, and in time, to become the center of his own purpose.
It was clear that his father had the upper hand. No matter what the leader did, his father was one step ahead. But it all changed when the raider started to fight dirty. As Jenam attempted to finish the fight by bringing the staff straight down at his opponent's head, the leader buried the end of his rifle into his dad’s stomach. His father fell over the rifle, gagging as the air in his lungs rushed out. The leader then push him back and slammed the end of the rifle into Jenam's chin. He fell on his back, now completely disoriented..
The leader turned and looked to Phenom, who was now trying his best to break free. He had to get to his dad. He had to help him. But no matter how hard he fought them, they were too strong for him to break free. Though the appearance never changed, Phenom looked at the face of the leader and could almost see the smirk, taunting him, daring him to try, knowing there wasn't a single thing he could do to help his family.
One of the raiders brought Asena to the center of the room and threw her down beside her husband. She crawled over to him and took his hand, tears still coming from her eyes. The leader cocked his head to the side, still looking at Phenom before nodding slightly. Two of the raiders pulled out small swords and approached the couple. Jenam was still out of it, and Asena stared with wide eyes. The first stab came, plunging deep into Asena's gut. Phenom tighten and pulled even harder as the sword met skin. he wanted to scream, he wanted to break free, but all he could do was watch in horror as the slaughter began.
The raiders didn't just kill them and be on their way. It seemed to please them to tear the couple to pieces. Phenom's wide eyes witnessed everything so clearly. The stabbing, over and over, blood flying and splattering across the ground, wall, and body of the raider. But not even there did it stop as they cut and hacked with slightly dull swords into the arms and legs, cutting them and severing their body parts. The blood curling screams of his adoptive parents echoed loudly within his ear, making its mark, embedding its sound within his mind for all eternity.
Seconds seemed like minutes, minutes like hours until the screams stopped and the blood ceased to flow. The raiders were done now. There was barely anything left of his adopive parents. And for what? What reason could there have been that caused these beings to come and do such a thing. They looked like men but were nothing but mosters. Nothing but savage beasts with no heart or soul. All they sought was to destroy.
The two raiders who had done the slaughtering began to approach Phenom, but were stopped by the leader. He held out his hand and one of the the raiders handed him his sword. He would be the one to finish the deed and rip Phenom apart. It would be so bittersweet, to destroy a family in one night, none to tell the story of what happened exactly, only for rumor to spread.
Anger and hate began to flow through him. It bore no limit. Like an ice cold fire burning throughout his being the emotions flowed. His body shook as tears dripped from his eyes. He could feel it running through his veins. Hear the echoes over and over of his parents. And behind the screams was the rash whisper speaking only one would, kill.*
"No, no no." *Phenom spoke in a whisper but soon developed more as the thoughts continued to run.* "No, no, no,no, NO!!!"
*His head tilted back as that last no escaped him. Everything poured out as he screamed out in the tormented pain of his parent's murder, screamed out in and eternal hate for them. A shock wave emitted itself from Phenom at the release the anger. The raiders let go of Phenom and ran away. They had no idea what he was and what had happened, but they decided it was time to take their leave.
Phenom had stopped his screaming, but his hate and anger still burned strong. He stood over what remained of his family. No tears fell, no sobs came. Just silence. He never wanted to kill anything in his life. Never found the urge to kill. But in those few minutes, that all changed. Phenom looked at the blood, eyes wide with the look of a man gone psychotic. He would find them and kill them all.*
The death of his adoptive parents and him killing his Jedi master had been during the time he had lost his childhood memories and thought his name was Phenom Aquar. But in time he learned otherwise. For the moment, the dreams subsided and Gavin fell back into a calm sleep.

Gavin woke suddenly. He most recent dream was probably one of the worse ones he had, memory of one of his greatest losses. He was in tears, tears that had started before he even awoke. His breath was shaky as was his body. He swallowed hard as a single whisper left his lips.
"Jade..."
Jade had been his wife, the only one he had actually married and the first he had a relationship with. He had saw her face, first as beautiful as it was the day he first saw her upon returning to his home planet. Jet-black hair that fell to her lower back, a beautiful and smooth tan, and the brightest emerald eyes he had ever seen. He could still remember the sound of her voice, so calm, so gentle and smooth, just like that of a gently blowing breeze on a spring day over the fields.
He leaned forward and placed his face into his right hand, memories starting to slowly return.
*The family shimmered into the village on the Plains of Kahn. A dark-skinned man came out to meet the family.*
<<Good to see that you could make it,>> *the man said. As a full-blooded Nagarein, he only spoke through the Force. Being born on the planet guaranteed that everyone was born a Force-sensitive. He looked down at the young children.* <<These must be your three children. Fine younglings.>>
*Rav smiled and reached out to hug the man.* "Thank you, Zaul. We are proud of them. How's your daughter?"
<<She is doing well.>> *He turned towards the hut and motioned for someone to come outside. A young-looking woman with dark skin and jet-black hair walked out next to the group.* <<Jade, honey, you remember Rav and Ella. These are their three children. Falcor, Gavin, and Kia.>>
"It's nice to meet all of you," *Jade said with a smile. Gavin looked at her and thought her to be very beautiful.*
<<Well, let's all go in and eat.>> *Zaul motioned for the family to come inside.*
*The dinner was a large gathering. Constant chatter made its way around the table. Falcor kept his interest on what the grown-ups were saying and Kia had eaten, then went to play with the other little girls of the village. Gavin, however, was focused on Jade. He did not know why, but even being a three year old, there was something about her to him. The dinner ended and night had fallen over the planet. The men all sat together around a fire telling stories and the women sat a ways off and talked about the men, Jade had made her way from the groups and sat on a rock a little ways outside the village. Gavin followed her and watched her. He swallowed hard as he walked up to her.*
"Miss Jade?"
*Jade looked down at him and smiled.* " Yes, Gavin?"
*He swallowed hard again. Most would think he was just a silly child for asking this, and maybe he was, but despite that, he asked anyway.* "Will you marry me?"
*Jade smiled bigger as she rested a hand on his head. She closed her eyes and was like that for a minute. When she opened them, she let her hand move down his head to his cheek.* "Yes, Gavin, I will."
*At that point, Gavin got all excited and ran back into the village. Jade watched him run off with a smile. She looked back to the sky as she spoke softly to herself.* "Gavin, I can't wait."
*Gavin got back to the hut where Falcor was and ran up to his brother.*
"Guess what, guess what!" *Gavin was so excited he was practically yelling.*
"I don't know. What?"
"I'm going to be in a wedding! Jade said she would marry me!"
*The whole village heard it and walked up to him. Some laughed lightly, but not to make fun of him. Some congratulated him. Zaul looked back to where Jade was.*
<<So you can see something worthy in him?>>
*From where she was she smiled and slightly blushed.* << Yes, father. He will grow up to be a great man.>>
<<Then your choice is respected by me.>> He chuckled lightly to himself. <<Only on Naza cancan such an age difference mean nothing. You have just turned ninety-one and he is only three. Funny how life is.>>
*The family finally gathered together to leave. They waved to everyone as they shimmered back to the forest. Once back, Ella went on and put the children to bed. Gavin was restless, still excited over what happened.*
"I'm getting married," *he said softly as Ella was tucking him in.*
"Yes, that's great news. Jade is a wonderful girl. Now sleep."
*Gavin yawned.* " But I'm not tir..." *Before Gavin could finish his sentence, he was out. Ella smiled as she left the children to sleep.*
A year later, those plans were thought to have changed. That's when his family took the trip to Tatooine and his family killed. He didn't remember Jade or being engaged, so to speak. He remembered something she told him, being worried and afraid that she had lost him. Even when he was only three, she had look forward to marrying him.
But that time did come. When he joined the Grey Jedi, he met his brother, though at first they didn't know. When Falcor chose to train some as Shadows, Gavin was the first to be trained. He had learned then the truth that he had forgotten. Jade had heard of his return and was hopeful. She found him, training the others who had come to be trained. He had noticed her and followed her to the village. He began to interact with her and fall for her though it was Falcor who passed along the message of the promise of getting married. Gavin had no quarrel with the idea.
A sad smile came to Gavin face as he remembered the wedding.
*Gavin stood at the alter adorn with white flowers. He took a deep breath as he looked out at the crowd. Everyone from the village was there, of course. The wedding was being held in the center of it and all knew Jade. Mixed in the crowd was also those from the Grey Order. All his friends and family, a day he thought he may never have. His thoughts were soon interrupted though as he saw Jade at the end of the aisle. Her mother was with her, as her father was presiding over the wedding.
Gavin was here in his robes similar to a Jedi's, but in pure white. Jade however looked beyond amazing, a white dress that held simplicity, yet was elegant and a wreath of flowers in her hair. At first, Gavin was nervous as she approached, but once she got to him, it all faded. Of all he faced in his life up to this point, this was what he was most sure about.
Zaul spoke as the ceremony began.* << To my tiospaye and kolapi, extended family and friends. We come together today to witness the marriage of my daughter, Jade, and this young man here, Gavin Phoenix. In my mind, there is no one I could trust more with my daughter's well being, but should any of you object to this, speak now. And if you speak now, you will be quickly silenced by me!>> *There are many laughs among the people, but no one objects.*
<< Good. This ceremony is an old one, and has been brought about in the old way. Gavin Phoenix retrieved a gem from the Ocean of Life, and so we shall proceed accordingly.>> *Zaul takes the gem from the altar. He holds it out and it levitates between the two.* <<Gavin Phoenix, I ask you now: Will you take my daughter Jade to be your wife, thus accepting the responsibility of caring for her, taking both the dark and light sides of life, and embrace her even after your bodies die and your spirits are joined in the Force?>>
*Gavin looks deep into Jade's eyes and smiles.* I do.
<<Jade, I ask you now: Will you take Gavin Phoenix to be your husband, thus accepting the responsibility of caring for him, taking both the dark and light sides of life, and embrace him even after your bodies die and your spirits are joined in the Force?>>
*Jade looks back deep into Gavin's eyes.* I do. *She smiles.
Zaul motioned for them to place their hands around the gem, Gavin's underneath and Jade's on top. The gem began to glow brightly before it split apart in a brilliant flash of light and a swirl of colors began to swirl around their hands. The colors then began to spread swirling around both Jade and Gavin completely before twisting around them as if tying them together.*
<<The splitting of the gem and it becoming a sign of their eternal unity. You may now kiss the bride.>>
*Gavin smiled and held Jade close before kissing her deeply. As they do, the energy that surrounded them enters both of them.*
<<Now you two are bound together, in body and in spirit. When one dies, the spirit shall remain with the other, not entering death until the other passes. Congratulations to both of you. Husband and wife.>>
It was one of the happiest memories that he had, but only served in this moment to strengthen the sadness of his final memory. She had been taken from their home, along with their three year old daughter to another realm. Gavin had been too late to save them. For months, he searched with training with the Dark Jedi under Cthulu Plaga. He finally found a way to get to them, but came to find a sad reality waiting for him.
*Gavin ran with all he had down the endless halls. He could feel her, somewhere near. Running and running, closer and closer, he finally hit a dead end. He could feel her just on the other side. After months of searching, a wall wouldn't stand in his way now. He reached out, with all his anger he used the force, blowing it into small pieces. He pass through the broken wall to find Jade there, strapped to a table.
He was quickly by her side, his face becoming one of terror. The beautiful woman he had married was now far from it. She was beaten, bloodied, and scarred. He clothes were torn to pieces and burn makes could be seen all over her. He glanced over and saw a small stand filled with bloodied tools. It was apparent she had been tortured over and over the past few months. He mind was redirected to her as she spoke, her calm gentle voice now cracked and old.
He quickly undid the bonds around her arms and legs and knelt on the floor, Jade in his arms. She gave a weak smile.*
"I knew..I knew you'd come for us. I knew...."
*She was unable to get another word out as her body fell limp in his arms, her life had ended. Months of searching and now he was forced to watched her die in his arms. Tears fell from his eyes as if a waterfall. He screamed with all he had, the room being ripped apart around him. When he stopped, he felt the presence of another behind him. He turned to look, a young girl of about fifteen stood there. He blade was ignited, but her hand was shaking and her eyes wide.*
"Fa..father??"
*Gavin's eyes went wide. Father? He swallowed before speaking.*
"Who are you?"
*She looked sad.*
"Tierany, your daughter. I..I was afraid that after twelve years you had forgotten about us."
*Gavin's eyes had never been wider. His voice caught and he felt himself choke. Twelve years.......*
It was true. In that realm, time moved faster. What was a couple months to him was twelve years to them. It was the memory that hurt him most. It was because of him that they were taken. A message from someone he knew, someone he valued as a great friend. A best friend, a great rival, and now an eternal enemy. Raziel Baal.
Gavin shook the memories from his mind. He was here to find connection, return to the place people walked. But ever since landing here, he had seen all the hard memories, the memories that reminded him of why he went into exile in the first place. Why was he seeing this? Only time would tell. He stood to his feet and placed his sword upon his back before jumping off the side.
He fell fast to the ground before using Force Flight to slow and stabilize him. Nearing the ground, he dropped, his knees giving only slightly. He gave only a sigh as he wiped the remaining tears from his eyes and continued on into the depths of the Shadowlands.
