-Six- "They believe. I know."
Was he fishing for intelligence? That question seemed to come so that she would say she had to survive on other worlds. She ignored the question and instead continued to eat her stew. She had told too much allready, starting with her old clan name.
-Six- "Nartaga, in three days, we will have to aquire enough goods to trade. I can help, but you know the Tusken better then me. I can help in negotiating a fair trade for everyone, but other then that, I am on the other side of this trade. I will have to try and stand impartial. I might ask your advice, I am still young and unknowing of the world."

Nartaga bowed his head respectfully to Six.
=Nartaga= "Then we have our work cut out for us. This trade will be far from fair. If I were in charge of the Banshee clan, I would not trade powerful weapons technology and equipment to Tuskens. Not when there are far more lucrative deals to be made with other Outsiders."
Nartaga shrugged and shook his head.
=Nartaga= "Still, I will not linger on that fact. I can get you a Bantha mount from someone who owes me a favor. I can show you to a few underground wells that we no longer use. I can get my hands on a few beacons so your masters can find them easily enough."
Nartaga thought for a moment.
=Nartaga= "The beasts we promise are easy enough to get our hands on. Mating season is approaching for the Dewbacks, and the Massiff population is always having to be cut down. They breed like womprats year round. Getting a hold of a clutch of eggs should be simple. Worrt venom may be difficult...they can be quite deadly, though they are stupid enough to trick. We could hunt a Giant Worrt. The venom gland should supply enough venom to last a long time."

She laughed at him, a joyfull, hearty laugh.
-Six- "Please, stop contradicting yourself. You claim the trade is unfair, and then list all the things that make it fair."
She was done with her dinner and instinctively put it aside without washing. Someone with a keen eye could take this as a sign of her being used to getting served. She stood up, gathered up her things so she got ready, and said her meaning.
-Six- "I welcome the Bantha, it will be usefull for me to make the trade. As for the other beasts of trade, I would have to look at them. I also would like to know how much water you give for one weapon. I do not wish to take more water then what is fair."

Nartaga took the tray and bowl that Six had set aside and began to walk back to the kitchen. The swish of water could be heard as he scrubbed the bowl clean. He did not mind cleaning up after someone else. Six was a guest, after all. He might be Head Councilor of the R'Crurak clan, but he still enjoyed looking after guests.
Nartaga spoke from across his hut with a slightly raised voice to be heard across his home.
=Nartaga= "The other Councilors were going to give the Banshees access to the wells. They are too far from the Enclave for convenient transport of water. We have moisture vaporators, and another well beneath the Enclave, deep under the mountains, where we draw our water. The wells are in our territory, and only used by scouts and hunters who are in between camps."
Nartaga rinsed the bowl off with slightly cleaner water than what he washed the bowl off and set it aside to dry. Wiping his wet gloves off on his robes, he walked back into the main room of his home.
=Nartaga= "Water is the most valuable thing we have. But even it can be a burden to draw from the sand with the few resources we have."

-Six- "I know that, I was born of the sand. But an amount needs to be set. Trade demand it."
She stood there as if she would not move untill the ammount of water per blaster was set.

Nartaga could not help but feel as if he were once again stuck in negotiations with another clan. He was no trader. Still, he had had to trade his own water for ammunition in his days of being a Sentry. When you had to decide whether to die of thirst or kill your enemy, he had chosen to kill his enemy, and then take their water.
=Nartaga= "It's hard to say how much water is worth a blaster, especially one so advanced. Sentries sometimes trade canteens for slugs. We could use that to set a baseline..."
Nartaga racked his brain for a conversion of water to bullets to water to blasters.
=Nartaga= "If I had to spin one off the top of my head, I'd estimate several gallons of water would be sufficient price for a blaster."

Six herself never did trade weapons. She went with the guidelines given by her Mistress witch was no less gallons of water per blaster then six. She DID however trade food, milk and domnestical items. Haggling she was good at, and if some of the Sakkat clan still lingered, they would remember her as skillfull minx.
-Six- "Eight gallon per blaster. Two per energy cell and Six for the cleaning pack."

Nartaga looked at Six and narrowed his eyes. She had come up with the price for each item quickly. Now he definitely felt like he was negotiating. He spoke back Six with a calm and collected voice, trying to haggle a bit.
=Nartaga= "Seven per blaster, two per power cell, and three per cleaning kit. No higher."
Nartaga's instincts as a politician, or the Tusken equivalent, were kicking in.
=Nartaga= "Besides, if we give the Banshees full access to the wells, they can have as much water as they like."

-Six- "Are you suggesting giving us entire wells?
I could give fifty blasters with two powercells each and a cleaning kit for a well."
She did the count based on her knowledge of Sakkat wells, and how much water they may hold. She deemed her number generous, especially because she guessed that there were several thausand of the tusken just at the enclave. For some reason, the Mistress wished water the most from this trade.
-Six- "If I was given a hutt, I could recieve tusken and barter the future weapons away, making a database of who gets what and what they paid for it. The wealthy can buy their own weapons, and the needy can get them from you and the wells."

Nartaga corrected Six almost immediately.
=Nartaga= "Access to wells. Hunters and Sentries on patrols would still need a source of water when out in the Dunes."
Nartaga thought about giving Six her own hut to have as a base of operations.
=Nartaga= "Room is scarce, but there are a few empty huts near my hut. Not many can take the energy from my.......meditations. It affects the minds of those not able to resist it. Not ideal, but convenient."
Nartaga did not want to go too in depth about his meditations. There was still much he was learning about the Crystals himself.
=Nartaga= "If others wish to buy their own weapons, they can, but this trade is meant to arm our hunters, warriors, and Sentries, not the entire clan. I am unsure how many would trust Outsiders to get weapons, no matter how powerful."

"For the access of one well, I offer the fifty blasters with two powercells each and a cleaning kit. For Seven gallon of water goes a blaster, Two gallon for a powercell, and Three for a cleaning kit.
I can get a couple boxes of nurishment sticks to sweaten the deal. One stick can feed someone for one entire day, and a box contains two thausand."
She was ready to strike the deal.

Nartaga tried to do some quick mathematics in his head. Nartaga shook his head. Though he was smarter than many others in the Enclave, mathematics was not something he had studied when trying to learn Galactic Basic, while also hunting to survive, before the R'Crurak was as powerful as it was now.
=Nartaga= "I can guarantee these wells have more water than what just fifty blasters are worth. They have existed for thousands of years. Perhaps we should be measuring how much water the Banshee clan takes out of the well and go by that, instead?"
He was not going to trade away a whole well, which contained the life-sustaining liquid for what he considered a handful of blasters. If he were to trade any one well to a lesser clan, he had no doubt he could get them to trade their own robes, if he were that kind of Tusken. Thankfully he was not.

-Six- "Nartaga, you have to decide. If you offer me a well and then take it back, you make me frustrated, and that may lead to an unfair trade. Tell me what you would give for the blasters so we can start gathering it up and finnish this trade.
With your permission, I will set up a hut and start bartering with the tusken here. All I need is your blessing and what you would deem fair."
Because Six had never been to a lot of worlds and never experienced a lot of people, she did not know what some say about the Devil, and his sweet deals. Or any variation on just plain evil disguised as good.

Nartaga corrected Six again. He did not mean to offend her or make her angry, but he had to be clear.
=Nartaga= Access to the wells. We can give the location and let them have free access to the wells, but we still wish our scouts to be able to use them as a way of getting water in between camps or out on patrols. We can measure whatever water the Banshees take out, and use the price we've agreed upon to make a steady exchange of resources. The last time we began giving away our land to Outsiders, Tatooine was invaded. No one will stand for giving complete ownership over Tusken territory to Outsiders, no matter we will receive in return."
Nartaga put his hand to his forehead and huffed. He hated negotiations. It was one of the worst parts his his position. Even though this was in no way a formal negotiation, it determined the fate of the deal. He was glad Six was changing the subject back over to the hut she wanted to set up shop, so to speak. He took out the key ring he had his own key own and took off a different key, holding it out to Six. The keys were little more than rusted jagged metal, but their shape could still open the lock thet were crafted for.
=Nartaga= "This key will open the door to the hut a few yards away. The family left when their daughter would not stop waking up in the night screaming of demons. It should be large enough for what you need it for."

-Six- "I am sorry, my basic is faulty, we had a missunderstanding. Nobody wants territory. Items, trade of value to the Sand people, nothing else. If you deem water the trade of value, it will be it. But understand, those that bring the weapons, and take your trade of value are outsiders. I need to set rules for both this trade, and them, so none more will be taken then what is intended for a fair trade.
What deamons?"
Throughout the entire discussion, Six had not moved an inch. Only the subtle movement of her mask when she spoke. It was creepy after a while.

Nartaga dismissed Six question about demons with a quick explanation. Not going too in depth with it.
=Nartaga= "She was having visions of the fall of Tatooine, back in the days of the Kumumgah. There is no such thing as demons, at least not spiritual kind. The only demons that exist in this Universe are living, breathing people."
Nartaga took a few steps across the room.
=Nartaga= "It is nothing to worry about. We have other things to do."

Six nodded and took the key.
-Six- "Confer with the other councilors, I feel it wouldnt be right to give you all the burden of the decision of trade. You know where to find me."
She wiggled the key before him. Something did feel off about all of this, but Six couldnt put a finger on it for some reason.
-Six- "Thank you for the hospitality. I will go find this hut. One final question. When the ship arrives to unload and load cargo, will you or someone come with me?"

Nartaga shook his head.
=Nartaga= "There's no need to reconvene the Council. I have enough authority to continue any negotiations. Putting them back in the same room over this issue would only lengthen the debate. You said we had three days, and it could take longer for all of them to agree on another issue."
Nartaga could tell Six was skeptical about his dismissal of the demon story. He took out the key ring again. Besides his own, there were around ten more.
=Nartaga= "Many of these keys belong to nearby huts. When I said this part of the Enclave, around my home, was quieter, it is because those around me began experiencing nightmares and visions of the past. They left out of fear, and for the need to not be tormented in their dreams. You can have your pick of them, if the one I gave you is not satisfactory..."
Nartaga continued onto a different subject.
=Nartaga= "But we should begin making preparations to make the journey to the first well. I will get the R'Crurak Engineers and the Jawas to make a few beacons that your masters should be able to find, and get the Banthas loaded up."
Nartaga took his own key off the ring and set it down for Six, in case she found the one he had given her would not meet her needs. He bowed and took his leave of the hut, to begin gathering supplies.

-Six- "I guess there is an answer to my bad dream then."
She bowed to Nartaga the same way and left the hut with him, in a different direction. She didnt need to search for long to find a hut that suited her. She put her things there, spread them out a bit so it felt lived in. Like a home. The home she always wanted. She would be sleeping in that corner there, and make food here, and teach the kidds about the life as a tusken outside the door, tell them stories by the fire, sing to her family... The memmory of the young tuskens dreams haunted her like a dagger in the heart. But they were not her dreams anymore. She could do more with her life then a family. She could do more then to accept her fate.
But... how is her fate different now? Sure, she has the backing and the support of a seemingly all powerful being. She can change the world with Atias help. Not just a family, real change. She could make the Tusken see the stars and travel them, like every other race. That would be her family.
That day she set up a shooting range outside the enclave, and let Tusken try out her weapon, and the cleaning kit, showing them how to clean the weapons and dis- assembling. This was something Atia called Market Research.

Nartaga went over to the Bantha pens, a short distance from his home, and called his Bantha over. It had been a long time since he had ridden his Bantha. The beast was visibly excited about going out with his master. Nartaga grabbed the saddle which was one the fence, and began saddling his Bantha up. It only took a few short minutes to get his own Bantha ready to ride out into the desert. But he still had one more to do. He pulled out a pair of raw Tatoes from a bucket nearby the pens. Giving one to his own Bantha, he called over another as well, luring the beast over with the delicious vegetable. The Bantha he had called over was very old. Its fur was gray, patches were missing, and its horns were chipped. This Bantha had belonged to the Elder, before he had disappeared.
The Elder's Bantha wheezed a bit, and its tongue slid out and wrapped around Nartaga's hand, gripping the Tato. Nartaga let it go, and the Bantha's tongue whipped back into its mouth. It chewed on the Tato and swallowed. Hoping it would be enough, Nartaga grabbed another saddle and began to strap the saddle to the ancient Bantha. He stroked the side of the old Bantha.
=Nartaga in Tusken= "There, there old one. Would you like to see the Dunes one more time?"
The Bantha huffed and shook its head, licking its lips as it seemed to doze off. Nartaga sighed and linked the Banthas together with a rope. Guiding both his own Bantha and the Elder's, which was intended for Six to ride, Nartaga led them up to the plateau, where the Jawas and R'Crurak engineers were working around the clock to not only build a ship, but to keep everything in the Enclave in working order. Nartaga approached a Tusken Engineer and spoke to him about his need for a beacon. The Engineer shrugged and went into the workshop behind him.
The Engineer took an old junked radio, and a power cell and forcefully made the two compatible. Nartaga watched, trying to learn a bit. One could never know too much, especially about technology. Sparks flew as the Engineer welded some metal to the sides, to protect the innards from being ravaged by sand, and handed the finished product to Nartaga.
Nartaga inspected the contraption disbelievingly. The Engineer grunted and flipped a switch on the side, and a red light at the top blinked. He held up a detector, which when held int he direction of the top of the beacon, beeped extremely loudly. Nartaga nodded his approval and then left the workshop, guiding the two Banthas back down to gather supplies.
~One hour later~
Having fully geared up both Banthas with basic survival gear, and a few days worth of rations, Nartaga headed out of the Enclave gates and to where it was said a shooting range had been set up. He was not surprised that Six was behind it. He found it a bit unsettling, but did not completely disregard it as a bad idea. In some ways it could help. Nartaga approached Six, with both Banthas following close behind him.
The Elder's Bantha looked down on Six and huffed. The beast looked nearly on its last leg. It's fur was almost entirely gray, and patches of it were missing. The horns were chipped, and one had broken off. There were fierce looking scars on its face as well.
=Nartaga= "The Sentry's shooting range on the plateau would have been better."
