-Six in Tusken- "Thank you Nartaga, for your words and the hospitality."
She bowed too, and walked down the path between tents. She noticed the curious gazes and mumbled talk as she walked off. A clanless. Golden Gaffi. From the Outside. Met with the coununcil at once. She did not care, the dunes called her. She soon went lost in them.
Game is usually scarce close to civilisation, and it is much scarcer in the desert.
---------------
Ror'Kir'Ik'Sh'Rrrr had been tracking this beast for three days. Finally, he was only two dunes from it. Dunerat. Ror had missed his shot twice.
The thing with hunting dunerats is to anticipate their movement in comparison to their heading, and either trap them between two dunes where you can shoot them, or anticipate where they would go over a dune and shoot them there with the cycler. Its a lot about knowing the animal, knowing the dunes, knowing the surroundings, where the animal might head, where it might not. There is more skill involved then one would think.
So, he got one more dune, and by his count, he was three dunes away, and as far as he remembered, the dune the Dunerat was to conquer was taller then the others, giving him good time to shoot. So, he laid down on the top of his dune, and aimed in the dune of his wish and need. Yes, it was taller. Good. Now, five miles from here there is a rock. Animals sometimes rest there in the daytime under its shade. This one might be headed that way. So, Ror aimed in the general direction of that rock and waited. And waited. And waited And...
A dark figure, contuers of movement. He snapped his aim to the point and then he saw it. Dune Rat. But... something was wrong. It was just standing there, frozen in motion. And there was something... It was then the spirit materialised. It had a wicked blade struck strait through the rat, and it had green glowing eyes, and Ror felt its gaze as it looked around and stopped on Rors position. Ror pushed himself back under cover, hoping the spirit would not see, and when he gathered enough courage, he looked over.
The spirit was gone, and so was dinner.

K'Shir was speaking to the other Councilors. While her position was temporary, she had proved herself level-headed and wise. Her motherly nature, coupled with her protectiveness for her clan, had made her popular among the other females of the R'Crurak. A female in a position of power was something largely unheard of in Tusken history. Still, there was talk of making her a permanent addition to the Council.
=K'Shir in Tusken= "The poo child is obviously brainwashed. She was abducted and tortured into believing everything her Masters told her. How do we know they are not just using her to get to us? We should keep her here, for her own good, and protect her!"
Rik'Ur, leader of the Sentries, spoke next, in rebuttal of K'Shir. His hand was on the forehead area of his mask. The motherly Tusken kept bringing the topic back to the Tusken Six, when they were supposed to be discussing the trade opportunity.
=Rik'Ur in Tusken= "The issue is not whether or not we save a clanless Tusken from enslavement. We are discussing whether or not to accept his trade agreement for advanced weapons, and possible aid from obviously powerful Outsiders. I would like to maintain that area of this hearing."
Nartaga nodded, and gestured for K'Shir to sit. The elderly clan mother nodded in return and sat back down on the ground.
=Nartaga in Tusken= "We can discuss Six later. First and foremost we need to come to an agreement of trade of value. We have water wells that are no longer in use, but still store reservoirs of water beneath the surface. We also have beasts of burden. Massiffs, dewbacks, and even Bantha, we could-"
Nartaga was abruptly interrupted by Rik'Ur, who, while largely in agreement with the Head Councilor, had clenched a fist at the mention of trading Banthas.
=Rik'Ur in Tusken= "I will not allow one Bantha to be given to an Outsider! They do not value the lives of them, and would treat them with as little respect as they do themselves! They would slaughter and eat them, rather then raise and keep them as the companions they are meant to be!"
Nartaga nodded in agreement.
=Nartaga in Tusken= "I am not saying we give them Banthas, I was simply using them as an example, Councilor Rik'Ur. Sure we could spare a few herds of Dewbacks, and several litters of Massiffs? The Dewbacks are a valuable source of food, while the Massiffs, when properly trained, guard the herd, and our camps. It is nearly breeding season as well, so we will have an abundance in the coming weeks. There are also our other animals. Surely we could spare several newborns for them to raise for leather? We raise our Jumba to grow quickly, so it is not like we are in short supply of leather, while other clans come to us for trade and advice."
Rik'Ur seemed to settle down, now that Banthas were off the table. The other Councilors seemed in agreement with this. They would be giving up much, but getting much in return as well. They continued talked, and ideas for the future.

On the third day after her departure, Six came back in the morning. The sentries would spot her first. She used her Gaffi to to spread the weight of her burden so she could more easily transport it. The Dunerat was allready gutted, and covered in a thin layer of gelly that slowed the process of rotting. To say the truth, the meat would be perfect, however horrid it would be counted in the civilised world. She couldnt wait to taste her first kill, and the taste of home.

The Sentries opened the Gates to the Enclave to allow Six entry, while other looked at the female Tusken as she entered. Almost immediately hands went up in semi-private conversation to show the size of kills they had caught in the past, embellishing to make Six's kill seem more insignificant.
Several other Tuskens followed behind Six, each with their own kill. Some had gone out to prove their worth to the clan, as Six had done, while other were hunters by trade, and the needs of the Enclave had to be met. There would be festivities tonight, in celebration of the Coming of Age Rituals taking place tonight. Preparations were already being made for when the suns began to set, and the celebration would begin.
Nartaga was on his daily walk around the Enclave, listening to his people, helping with chores and other duties that, while they could easily be done by a Sentry or a neighbor, felt more fulfilling when he did them himself. He spotted Six putting her kill with the rest of the other Hunters and waved her over. He had stopped near one of the Bantha pens, where many of the Tusken's bond-mounts were resting and eating.
=Nartaga in Tusken= "Did the hunt go well?"

-Six in tusken- "Yes, killed my first dune rat. Left the bounty with the hunters, they know best how to distribute."
She didnt want to tell Nartaga that she had ate one leg, and that she hated it. She had found the outside food lot better then chewy meat of a scavanger. It felt good to have done her duty as a hunter, but she will try to hold herself to the nutrient sticks she brought.
-Six in tusken- "I am tired. I did trade some water from the hunters, but what I would need is a place to sleep, without disturbing anyone."

Nartaga chuckled. He could tell by her tone that she was was not looking forward to eating the vermin, if she hadn't already.
=Nartaga in Tusken= "I know womp-rat is horrible, but there will other meats at the celebration tonight. The womp-rats are vermin, and mostly used for jerky. Everything is useful in some way. But you still did good by finding a sizable one."
Nartaga began walking, gesturing for Six to follow him. He made his way through the Enclave, hoping Six would not be too bothered by the looks. In the days she had been gone hunting, word had spread about the golden gaderffii wielding Tusken, who had come and spoken to the Council, representing Outsiders.
Nartaga stopped when he came to a single hut, in a far less busy part of the Enclave, closer to the Enclave Walls. He went to the metal door, taking out a rusty key and unlocking it. Nartaga began speaking in Basic now.
=Nartaga= "You are more than welcome to stay here. It is my home. It is large enough for a small family, and not many others live near me. If you are comfortable enough, I would like to speak to you more privately here, without the other Councilors, or others, listening. If you would prefer to stay somewhere else, I can arrange for some place else. Though I will warn you it may be close to the Bantha pens, and while they are wonderful companions, when a lot of them are near the snoring and smell can make it hard to sleep."
Nartaga stood outside his door, holding it open for Six. The visible room showed an archaic blaster weapon of some sort hanging on the wall, as well as several trophies from hunts, and a small square crystal. It was a Kumumgah crystal, the one he had absorbed.
To those who knew nothing about the crystals, the empty one would look like nothing more than a chiseled quartz square. Still, to those gifted with the Force, something unnatural could be felt when in close proximity to the crystal.

Six followed him inside the hutt and stopped taking it all in. Then, she walked a round, looking over the things as she listened to Nartaga. She looked over every one of the throphies, making a mind note of Nartagas combat prowess. She was intrested in the achaic blaster and would ask about it later. The crystal she ignored. SHe felt like she wanted to know as little about it as possible because it belongs on Tatooine. If she learned enough the Mistress might want her to steal it. She felt the strange power when she stood beside it and she knew, the Mistress would want it. Her Tusken heart resisted, and won in this instance.
Seating on one of the sitting carpets, she nodded to nartaga.
-Six- "Thank you for your ... -in tusken- Hospitality-. Go on, ask away. I might not answer all, but whatever I feel comfortable with, I will do by best to answer accurately."

Nartaga closed the door behind them and lit a small oil lamp to lighten the darkened corners a bit better. He then walked over to another room and brought out a tray with a few cups and a large pitcher of water. Setting it on the floor to the side of Six, he sat down as well. He spoke in Basic.
=Nartaga= "You are more than welcome to help yourself to some water, if you wish. The water here is a bit better than what you may have traded for with the Hunters..."
Nartaga folded his hands together and looked at Six. He resisted trying to tap into her mind. He would much rather try and have her tell him openly what he wished to know.
=Nartaga= "You will be pleased to be told that the Council has agreed to your terms. We are willing to exchange water well locations, as well as beasts of burden and herd animals. Massiffs, Dewbacks, Jumbas, among others. We can also supply a small amount of Worrt venom, which we use to coat the ends of our gaderffii in combat with other clans."
Nartaga reached over and got himself a cup, and poured some water into it, about halfway. He tilted his head back and let the liquid flow through the opening in his mask and into his mouth. He then held the cup in his hand, level with his knee, with one hand acting as a table and the other on the side of the cup to keep it level.
=Nartaga= "But I would still like to know more about this Banshee clan you represent. Who do they follow?"

She shook her head in ave.
-Six- "Worrt venom. Why didnt I think of that?"
When he asked, she answered at once. She also spoke the truth.
-Six- "The named ones. Some oversee our training, some oversee operations, some oversee research and medicine. Some oversee the inquisition."
Before he could ask what this inquisition was all about she shot in.
-Six- "The inquisition against slavers. We hunt down everyone not treating slaves according to our laws. Its a long process but we made a good dent on them, what I heard last. The named ones had a plan, and it is coming to fruition now. They had been aiding slavers for years, gathering information, and when decided that no more information can be gathered, they struck. Ryloth, hutt space, Juvex, all got cleaned in mare weeks from slavers."
SHe believed this was all true. It was what she was told, and in ways yes, it was true. The banshees did gather extensive records on registered Slavers. If they had the manpower, they could decimate slave trade in one standard night. But, there were many organisations working throughout the galaxy. Juvex was cleaned, that is true, and Ryloth is being cleansed, so much Six was sure at and so much is actually true. Hutt space? Not yet at least...
-Six- "If you dont mind, I would like to ask my own questions. How come you know so much of the outside world?"

Nartaga listened to Six's explanations carefully, once again finding himself picking apart each word, trying to find anything that did not fit. He could not find anything. As far as he could tell, she was telling him all she knew. But she could only be telling what her Masters were telling her. So she could not lie, but she would not be aware of it. Still, it was extraordinary that this group was trying to cleanse large sectors of space of unfair slave treatment, by their own laws and standards. Still, he did not agree with slavery at all, and few did in the R'Crurak clan.
Nartaga tried to word his answer to Six's question carefully. She apparently had much experience with Outsiders, probably more so than he did, but he had seen it of his own free will, and been able to make his own choices.
=Nartaga= "The R'Crurak have dealt with Outsiders in the past. We are a very liberal clan, compared to the traditions and stances most others take against Outsiders. I have dealt with many in the past. Jensaarai, Sith, Jedi, Mandalorians. I've spoken with them, and even gone off world to rescue one, though that is another story....It is best to know where one comes from, even if you are not from that world, as I am not Tusken by birth, but by upbringing."
Nartaga did not hesitate to tell Six that he was not biologically Tusken, as it was known throughout the Clan he was human by birth, having been brought back to the Clan when he was a newborn, and raised as one of their own. Few cared, as Outsider species had small numbers of all kinds that called themselves Tusken. It was in your soul, not your flesh. Still Nartaga awaited Six's response to this news.

She giggled at that.
-Six- "Irony. Outsider made tusken meets tusken made outsider, and the tusken is seen as the outsider."
She honked some more laughter at that, as tusken do, then drank some of the offered drink.
-Six- "I appriciate the hinting, but the named ones wanted me to stay tusken, and so I will be. What is that Blaster about? Why is it on a wall and not on your belt in a holster?"
She pointed at the blaster, but inside her mask, she looked at the crystal.

Nartaga chuckled at the irony of their situation as well. It was indeed a strange turn of events that were coming to fruition on his homeworld. Glancing up at the Ssi-ruuvi paddle beamer, he stood up and took the awkward looking weapon off the wall.
=Nartaga= "It is an old relic from a Chieftain I killed when I was Chieftain of the R'Crurak clan, not just a Councilor. It is a stun weapon, but doesn't work like it is supposed to."
Nartaga demonstrated the beamer's lack of working capability when he slid his hand into the trigger mechanism, made for the three fingered reptilian species that made it, and attempted to fired, careful to aim away from Six and himself. The paddle beamer simply fizzled and a small trail of smoke drifted from the barrel.
=Nartaga= "I was considering asking one of the Jawas look at it, and try and get it functional, but it is not like I would need such a thing. It has been a while since I have seen battle."

She watched nartaga in silence. She was nervous a bit, because she didnt know what to say. No more questions came, and she felt awkward. Finally she spoke, her tone serious.
-Six- "Nartaga, I enjoy our talks, but I must be frank. The Banshee clan does not wish to reveal much of itself. I can try to dodge your questions forever, but I wish not to disrespect you so. The banshee clan does not wish that the weapons be tracked back to them, if the Tusken happen to use it on someone with great power. It cant be denied that the banshee clan is a force of evil... They did take me from my home and killed two of my old clansmen, my chieftain included. But remember, they spared the rest of my clan when they had it in their power to kill everyone and take all their belongings. They do evil, but they do good too. They ended a major slaving operation on Ryloth years back, saving countless lives and stopping a sith. We uphold our laws too, and smite the wicked.
They opened my eyes to lies, as I said before, but not against my Tusken teachings, more against the tusken organisation. I have walked the enclave some, and I saw the truths they told me. Women cleaning, cooking, doing the bidding of their husbands. I was once one such, and I ached for the wild dunes, the hunt. Nor my chieftain nor my father allowed it, because it was not fitting for women. I was shackled to a fate, I was a slave before I wore this collar.
Now I do what I longed for. I hunt, I fight, I make a difference. By shackling me, the Banshee clan has set me free in more ways then I ever could be before I became a slave.
I do not wish this on others, but I do not wish it gone.
If that answers your questions, I would like to send a message so the weapons can arrive soon, and then sleep. I have not done so for three days, and I am tired."

Nartaga set the beamer back up on the wall, and put his hands together. She was well spoken in Basic, as well as him. Her time amongst Outsider had given her knowledge and opportunities she would not had, had she remained with her clan. He was proud, in some ways, that she had taken the opportunity to better herself, no matter the fact that she was just a slave to her masters.
=Nartaga= "Regardless of my own feelings about your masters, and your position among them, I can say I spoke in favor of this trade agreement. It is an opportunity that we should not pass up just because of the actions of those you represent and their choice of slavery. In the Universe few can say they are innocent of crime, even the Jedi, from my understanding..."
Nartaga nodded to Six.
=Nartaga= "Would you have been raised in the R'Crurak clan, you would have been given the opportunity to choose your own fate. Most females choose to raise a family, and it makes them happy, but there are a number of female warriors and hunters in our clan. Sexism is something that has only hindered us as a race. The Outsiders have long ago found out just what their females are capable of, given the opportunity to make their own choices freely, and we try and mirror that. But most clans still believe women inferior to men, and there is little we can do to change that if they do not wish it."
Nartaga bowed to Six and pointed to a room off to the side of the hut.
=Nartaga= "You may take my room to rest and contact your masters. Let it not be said that simple sand dwellers do not have some of the best hospitality on Tatooine. I shall be near if you need anything. All you have to do is ask."
Nartaga walked out of the room and to the kitchen. Soon the smell of preserved meat filled the hut, and water boiling could be heard from the kitchen.
Out in the Enclave preparations for the coming of age celebration of the Uli-ah who had completed their Rites were coming to a close. Drums and chanting could be heard from outside the hut walls, echoing throughout the Enclave. Fires were made, meat was being roasted, and the informal ceremony for those that had proved their worth was starting.

-Six in basic- "Six to Home, Six to Home, Home, Do you read?"
The satelites were spy satelites of course, that was no secret. They also were communication boosters, boosting comms to Juvex through a couple jumps to make sure it is safe. A faint female voice came through that was disturbed by heavy white noise. Maybe if it was not for the white noise, the voice on the other end would sound a lot more recognisable besides just giving a chilled feeling of Deje vu. If he evesdropped, of course...
"I do, my dear."
Six swallowed hard, started sweatting and her heart started to beat faster. The Mistress.
-Six- "I have spoken with a council that works as a government. They have agreed to the trade."
"You are surprising me day after day six. I am very pleased. Are you pleased?"
-Six- "Yes, yes I am."
"That pleases me even more. You will be contacted when the weapons are there. *click*"
Six slept deep and long that night, sleeping through the ceremony, and dreaming of running on a different planet, a different desert, but feeling like it was hers just as tatooine was.

Nartaga had cooked some Dewback stew, and sat a covered bowl near the door to his room, where Six was staying. Cleaning up after himself in the kitchen, he then sat on a cushioned mat to the side of the room they had spoken in. Sitting down and putting his hands facing up on his knees, he meditated, as he did every night, to calm the spirits fighting in his body. The crystal hanging around his neck beneath his robes pulsated energy, spreading out to those who were gifted with the Force. Powerful waves of living energy cascaded out, with Nartaga at the center.

She woke to the heavy beat of drums. She was on a dune, the twin suns were shining bright in the sky but the dunes were dark as night. She didnt understand. The Suns were wrong, they wee too close. She would recognise the two suns anywhere, this WAS tatooine, and somehow it wasnt. She stood up to see where she was. Dune sea. She had no food and no equipment, she would die. She knew it. She called out to the only person she knew would help her.
-6- "Mistress?"
No answer.
-6- "MISTRESS!!!!"
"You are all alone."
She turned around and found nothing in the direction of the sound but she knew that voice, she knew it all too well.
"Over here."
She turned towards the sound. The yellow twilek was sixty feet tall and she was covering the Twin Suns of Tatooine. The dunes looked as if it was night because the Mistress shadow was over them all. Her shadow turned the dunes black. How did she not see her giant mistress before? Was she there?
-6- "Mistress! I am alone in the dune sea, I will die! HELP ME!"
The yellow Twilek threw her head back and laughed, the drumms were mare buzz beside her evil demonic cackle.
-6- "No... this is a test, a new test, this isnt even real, just a test! I AM NOT GOING TO FAIL! I WILL BE STRONG YOU HEAR?"
The giant Atia looked down on her tiny banshee and her eyes glew with red evil heat, as she spoke, demonic fire spread from her mouth, her fingers became long claws, and the dune turned to arid hard rock as she stepped closer to the Banshee, stepping over an entire dune. No, not arid stone. Glass. Six got extremely scarred, and tried to flee but the dune colapsed under her and she tumbled down starting a wide avalanche of sand down the dune. She could hear the steps coming closer, the evil laughter even louder. She did not see anything though. She was covered in sand. Buried alive. She tried hysterically to claw her way out, the giant Mistress was coming and she was going to punish her. Six knew, she would scream and scream and this time it would never end, if she could get out of the sand and flee, but she couldnt. The sand covered her and she was lost to that laughter.
Suddenly light sipped through the sand and a hand grabbed hers. She was pulled up through the rough terrian to find Nartaga pulling her up. He wasnt alone. Thousands of blue shapes, Tusken raiders all stood atop the dune she was trying to flee to.
=Nartaga in tusken= "But I would still like to know more about this Banshee clan you represent. Who do they follow?"
Somehow she remembered him saying those words, but he had said it in Basic. She pointed at the huge yellow twilek that was burning the sands and covering the twin suns. How couldnt they see her? Why wouldnt they fight the deamon? Why couldnt they see that she was coming to take them?
-Six in tusken- "WHY CANT YOU SEE HER?!?"
She woke suddenly, realising she had screamed that last word out loud.

Tatooine was burning. He saw this every time he closed his eyes. A memories forced into the soul of every Kumumgah he had absorbed from the crystal. The Rakatan ships in orbit were relentless. The final preparations were under way. A Great Machine was the center of the room he was standing in. Nartaga looked at his hands. They were not his, but they were. He was bare skinned, except for a tunic and pants. A line was in front of him, slowly moving into the center of the room, beneath the Great Machine. Screams could be heard, and the line kept moving until it was finally his turn. He looked around, not knowing what was going on, until it happened.
The pain was instant, his very body felt like it was being ripped apart. He looked at his hands, where his hands were, but where only dust was floating away, a light from above turned on, and grew increasingly brighter and brighter, to rival the Suns. The pain never stopped, but only grew worse. He tried to fight it, lashing out, but he no longer had a form, at least not for much longer. Nartaga screamed and screa-
Nartaga's eyes opened. He had heard something. The energy flowing from him stopped, and he stood up. He slowly made his way over to his room, where Six was staying. Looking down at the tray of untouched stew, he then knocked gently on the frame of the doorway. There was no door, but he would not walk in unannounced, whether or not it was not home. He spoke quietly, in case she was still asleep and he had just been hearing things.
=Nartaga= "Is everything alright, Six? I thought I heard something."

-Six- "A bad dream, only a bad dream. I am sorry if I woke you."
She could see that it was dawning, and it was time to get up anyway. She had saved the stew for breakfast. She started at it. She checked her datapad quickly.
-six- "I got answer back from the ship that brought me. They will arrive in three days. They asked for coordinates where the trade could be made.
I have thought some on the trade. You could be trading your old weapons. The modifications could mean technological progress for my masters, and in turn they could supply better weapons and equipment. They believe the tusken to be versitile, and they might have made modifications no other culture has applied yet. The trade would be fair."
As she spoke, she gave her stew to share to Nartaga.

Nartaga shook his head. He took a few steps into the room.
=Nartaga= "Not at all. Dreams can often be a way of your mind trying to tell you something. Especially the bad ones. A Shaman can spend days in a dream state, telling of events that were long forgotten, or ones that have yet to happen."
Nartaga declined the stew. He had had his fill the night prior, and was not that hungry yet. He put his hand to the bottom of his mask, where his chin was.
