Real space undulated as a blinding flash cut across the pitch black expanse, before the craft appeared. The sleek black hull of the Theta-class T-2c shuttle known as the "Simic" glided slowly towards the Planet below. Inside sat a cloaked figure, his fingers steepled in front of his hooded face.
"Readings?" Said the figure, to two Droids manning the controls.
::Normal:: Chirped one of the droids, while the other seemed to be scanning binary code streaming from a screen before it.
"Well?" The figure asked again, somewhat more impatiently.
::Normal:: Finally chirped the second droid, as he looked up towards the hooded figure.
"Very well, make for planetfall. I have business to attend to on the surface." Finished the figure as he leaned back into his throne-chair. The two droids made toned responses in acknowledgment just before the ship shifted towards reentry.

A small cargo transport deposited itself out of hyperspace just within orbit of the former throne world known as Byss. Ifrit could already feel the latent dark side energies that emanated from the planet even as far away as the transport was from the planet's surface. He withdrew the Holocron from his pocket, before the eye sockets started to glow green Byss, at long last I have returned. The influence of the Dark Side is strong here, it shall be instrumental in your training
As you command Master. I shall become stronger and bring back the one I love, no matter what... Ifrit replaced the Holocron back into his pocket, before initiating the transportsa landing procedures, aiming for a plateau just outside the Imperial Control Sector. He would need to hone his abilities, before he could attempt to access the vast resources at the Black Stone Citadel, in the mean time he would need to make do with items he could pay for, or if need be, scavange for, and if all else failed, there was always theft

A dark spear of enameled grey emerged victorious from the azure threads of hyperspace, settling into real space with a silent, but thunderous flicker of psuedomotion. The craft was untouched by the dangerous precedent of faster than light travel, as the relativistic shielding dissipated with a simple input of commands by the vessel’s pilot. Utilizing the motion of their deceleration, the reverse trident like vessel proceeded towards the surface of the planet – eager to do battle with the naturally occurring atmosphere encompassing the entire planet. Those within the craft, knowing that the people of this world were primitive beyond the use of space travel and subnet communiques, went without their usual tactic of activating the cloaking generator. Plunging deep into the heart of the world, the pilot directed his blunted prow towards the landmass known to all as the Black Citadel…

The blue-grey streaks of stars flashing through hyperspace blared in the cockpit window of the old battle-worn Incom Z95 Headhunter. The sleek black ship was flying through space, heading for the backwater planet known as Byss in the Deep Core regions of the universe. The man who gripped the controls of the ancient machine had eyes that reflected an ancient madness. Feral eyes stared off into space as he came out of hyperspace. The unnamed ship stayed suspended in the darkness of space.
He'd returned, after ten years of absence. He hadn't seen the blue-brown planet in far too long. But it wasn't like Fael Dar'manda had any recollection of the last time he was here. He was darkness now. Rage. The Gurlanin side of him had taken over, leaving nothing in the carcass of the once-Dark Jedi but a monster with a ravenous hunger for violence and destruction. It had brought him to follow every instinct towards the old remnants of his past. He had gone to Zonama Sekot, to Dathomir, to Korriban, to Ziost, to Felucia, to Coruscant... even to Mandalore. Nothing remained of his past life. Nothing reminded him of the universe he used to know.
Fael was lost. He had found his way back to a place he barely recognized now. Byss.
The ship finally began its descent towards the planet below. It was heading down towards the Bastion where the last link remained. The last remaining link to his humanity stayed here. The ship continued to circle down. He hadn't asked for any landing permissions. He doubted anyone remained to grant him access anyway and the Gurlanin wasn't really thinking of that. He gave a fanged smile and his eyes glowed a strange golden hue. The eyes of a Gurlanin. Nothing of Fael really remained except for that violence. Although, one would say, this had made him stronger. No longer did he have any attachments to the Light, to anything loving and docile that had made him fall in love with the she-witch. Not a thing that kept him bound there.
Sith, Jen'jidai. Who cared anymore about any of those titles? The rage and the pure animal instinct that flowed through him now left nothing of that. It made him strong. It made him dark and dangerous. Something evil was coming to Byss.
He was going to find him.
Malakaii Korr. Fael's very first Master.

Byss. The world was something of a myth more so now than ever. According to the world was lost. Oh they knew where it was, that was how Panno had dropped out of hyperspace above it. No it was lost in the sense that the S Thread boosters that had long been in place were destroyed. Anyone that tried to get here was lost and presumed dead. It was a devious lie, with a kernel of truth in it. With the ever changing hyperspace routes here in the Deep Core people got lost every day. It was a risk of flying out here.
Absent-mindedly he stroked the head of the largest Vornskr with him as he looked down at the planet below him. At least from space the planet looked serene and beautiful but even the least force attuned could feel it. This world permeated evil, the dark side of the force pushed ever farther from the planet. If he had been more mammilian it would have made the hair on his arms stand up and give him shivers. As it was though he could feel it draining his will, leeching everything that was him and replacing it with something worse. Something darker. Thumbing the comms channel Panno spoke. Officially listed as Imperial on their records, he had reason to believe it was something more.
Byss Control, come in. Byss Control this is Panno Grai'Tal of the Imperial Knights. I seek to land on your planet under command of the Emperor.
So that last part was a lie. The Emperor did not know about this, if he did will chances are the guns would be pointed at him shooting. Or hyperspace mines would have blown him out of the swirling blue into a star; or worse. Still rules are rules. As he sat there waiting for a reply he watched the scanner, making sure nothing was locking onto him, looking at any spacebound traffic. Hell even some of the larger planetary broadcasts that weren't encrypted.
He had one reason for all this safety. While searching for clues towards Xeonons death and the assault on Praktih Panno stumbled onto something different. The records showed a group of representatives from Halocom had visited the leader of the Imperial Remnant. Shortly after that Byss had been lost. It was common knowledge that one of the greatest warriors still alive had said company in his pocket. One Lord Nexus. Stealing some codes, and the knowledge that the Empire made many deals with different devils here he was. If he found out there was one more "for the greater good" Delvaradus would be having one bad day when he met him in a few months time. Reaching out int he force the Dressillian pushed back the dark side energies swirling around him and focused hard on an image of a younger Nexus before sending it out in the force. Maybe it would garner a response.
Or not.

Some believed the force to be a sentient entity- not only did it flow through things, acting and reacting, but it gave subtle nudges. Destiny, some called it. No one can truly know whether the force had a collective consciousness, but hints would suggest to it from time to time. This was one such time. The darkside pulsated from the forgotten garden world, slow yet deliberate- consistent for a time, until the Imperial Knight focused his thoughts on the Dark Lord of Chaos. The reaction was sudden; a low, thrumming roar, heard in the ears of all on the planet, or near it. Those who could feel the force would notice a sudden spike of potency; nausea came suddenly as the ebbs of darkness became a tidal wave of pain, misery and death. Chaos.
Then, as quickly as it had come, the sensation was gone, and the force had returned to its usual ebb and flow, as though nothing had happened. Byss' communications remained silent- the planet was long since abandoned, yet somewhere on the surface, a great darkness stirred from a long slumber.

The newly rebuilt, rearmed and recrafted ancient vessel dropped out of hyperspace above the magnificent planet. Not one for preamble, nor incredible insight due to the giddiness he was feeling at how.close he was to his goal, Ca'guuror contacted the planet immediately requesting for a permission to approach and land. Once it was given, the male brought his new ship down towards the planet, through the atmosphere.

A lone Victory III-class Star Destroyer exited hyperspace at coordinates K-11. Coordinates that should have led to nothing but an asteroid belt, remains of a planetoid that should no longer exist. It was said to have been blasted away by the actions of the New Republic and resulted in the permanent demise of the Dark Empire and Palpatine. Yet, when the vessel dropped out of hyperspace, the crew came face to face with a planet of legend. A planet that should not exist. A paradise world appeared before the bridge of the Star Destroyer. The high density of the stars within the Deep Core ensured Byss remained hidden and unknown to the greater galaxy. And yet, here it was... the lust, fertile, and fortress world of the Old Empire.
Upon the bridge of the Suzerain, Captain Kelris called for his senior officers to his presence. A full scan of the planet was underway as the crews surveyed every possibility, but yet, Byss was here, in the flesh, and intact. There had rumors, in the Imperial records, that the planet existed, but nothing concrete till now proved it. A survey team was being prepped to land and check the planet's surface while a communication was to be sent to High Command. If Byss proved to be, without a doubt, real, then the Empire needed to be informed. The fortress world of Palpatine would have to be reclaimed!

Not long after the Victory III-class Star Destroyer appeared from hyperspace and begun its survey, The Resurgent II-class Battlecruiser known as Reaper appeared above Byss with the bulk of Scourge Squadron in tow. This marked the first time since it's officiation, that Scourge Squadron had been deployed. It also marked the maiden voyage of The Reaper. The replacement vessel for the Ren's previous mobile command base, The Resurgence. Much like it's predecessor, The Reaper was the first of the Resurgent II line and Harnan Ren, the Master of the Knights of Ren, looked forward to putting the vessel through its paces.
While the bulk of the fleet was arrayed behind the massive Flagship, the pair of Needa-class Corvette's, known as The Tyrant and The Despot, had dropped out of hyperspace away from the fleet and were busy performing scans of the old Imperial World. Positions of ships, shipyards, and the planet itself were all transmitted back to a display aboard the bridge of The Reaper. From there, Harnan issued orders to his fellow Ren to raid the Black Stone Citadel. Dark artefacts, knowledge, and secrets remained hidden there and the Ren would be the first to find and secure them...

After a thorough scan was complete, the Imperials now saw it as safe to press a claim upon the world of Byss. It was not an illusion, it was not something temporal. It was physical and alive and it would join the resurgent Empire and become a jewel just as it was before! With that, the commander upon the deck ordered what troops they had to deployed. With the Ren present, they'd likely deploy their own forces too for the capital. Today, Byss would be claimed!

With rumours flying around the Vegemite Enclave's home of The Rock that the great Lord Nexus may indeed be returning to the galaxy at large, Clan Australis was keen to keep an eye on unfolding events. With the connection between the Dark Lord and the Deep Core world of Byss well known, a scout mission was authorized to check the planet out. With the routes to the Deep Core difficult to navigate, and stealth at a premium, the only vessel capable of such a mission was the newly rechristened Borleian Spike, a Carrion Spike-class vessel captained by Amaranth Australis.
The Borleian Spike exited hyperspace well short of the planet of Byss, hoping to be out of range of planetary sensors. Quickly, the vessel initiated her cloaking device, running silent, and going to an evasive course. It wasn't considered likely that anyone in-system would detect the spike in cronau radiation that denoted a ship exiting hyperspace this far out, but it didn't pay to take chances. Cloaked, the Spike came in on a parabolic course for Byss, sensors passively scanning the system.
On the bridge, Amy watched her crew work, the lights dimmed to denote the ship being at silent running; red glow of emergency lights bathing everything on the bridge crimson. Now, to see if the locals were able to detect them, or not. The moment of truth.

Scourge Squadron still sat in place over Byss, their positions unchanged while the Ren continued to be planetside, securing the former Imperial Throne world. While standard planetary sensors would have been unable to pickup the Borleian Spike, the pair of Needa-class Corvette's known as Tyrant and Despot were another matter entirely. Their whole purpose was to act as long range sensor nets to aide in planetary invasions or patrolling the borders of First Order territory and giving early warning detection of opposition forces.
Thus, despite the Borleian Spike exiting hyperspace as far out as it did, the Tyrant still picked up the Cronau Radiation burst of the vessel exiting hyperspace. This caused an alert to sound on one of the consoles, leading a Technician to investigate the matter as the system ran it's automated scans of the space, looking for the source of the disturbance. Spectrographic scans were conducted. While the vessel was not directly traceable, the emissions it gave off would provide them an idea of where it was headed and might be. With Harnan Ren still planetside, Captain John Smith received the report from Tyrant.
He ordered the crew to keep tracking the anomaly. In the meanwhile, Scourge Squadron maintained its position and starfighter patrols. As it stood, one lone disturbance was incapable of posing a threat. Especially between the planet's own gravity well and those produced by the pair of Gladiator III-class Star Destroyers. Who ever, or what ever, it was were welcome to sit and watch

With the main bridge lights dimmed and the red glow of emergency lights bathing everything on the bridge crimson, the Captain sat in her chair, watching the viewscreen and occasionally looking across at the bridge officers sat at their consoles. Though this was a recon mission, Amaranth wasn't letting her people get sloppy, not this deep into unfriendly space.A sensor operator reported. Getting additional scans from the local patrols.Amy looked across. Have they seen us?The officer rechecked the readouts before reporting back. Doesn't look like it. The Captain nodded her approval.Let's go in closer. She said to the helm officer. Deploy a drone.Borleian Spike edged closer in towards Byss, under emissions control, running silent. From her cargo bay, a single drone; in actuality a stripped down proton torpedo, was launched. It was set to run silent until it got a good distance from the Spike, then produce emissions similar to that of a vessel running at minimum power. The drone headed for the planet's North pole, while the Spike glided in quietly towards the opposite side of the planet.Harnan Ren

Tyrant and Despot continued to maintain their scans, tracking and tracing everything. Projected paths and possible locations were provided to the ships nearest to where the uninvited guest was likely to be. Ensuring the capital ships were mindful not to drift too close, and so the patrol pilots didn't accidentally fly to fast and close and end up taken out by the invisible presence

Borleian Spike edged closer in towards Byss, under emissions control, running silent. The drone she had relased earlier began to release calculated small emissions from its position near Byss's north pole, while the Spike's course took it on a parabolic glide to the other side of the planet. With the decoy drone deployed to give the locals something to spot, Spike's crew released the rest of her payload. One after another, they dumped the dozen small packages into space. As the ship drifted along, they made a small path across space, deployed in a random pattern to seed the Byss System with eyes for the Enclave.
The packages were RM-2020 espionage droids, that could act like several small communications and sensor satellites. The weapons were removed and the droid bodies covered up with a rocky sheath so the droid would show up visually and on sensors as a rock chunk about a meter across. When released, they would join the tens of millions of such minor and insignificant detritus littering the star system. They gave off no emissions except for line of sight laser transmission when a friendly vessel was detected, uploading their sensor data, or via burst transmission only when ordered.
Spike continued to monitor the locals for any sign that they were increasing their alert levels, or directing their scans in a particular direction. So far apart from increased general scans, nothing had been picked up to worry the crew. Amy sat in silence while the cargo crews did their job releasing the payload, waiting.

The pair of Corvette's continued their surveillance of the system, noting the two objects as they moved separate of one another. Taking a gamble, the nearest Victory III-class Star Destroyer projected a jamming signal at the object being tracked over the north pole.
Elsewhere, transports dropped out of hyperspace and headed for the pair of derelict Golan III Space Defense NovaGuns. The crews onboard unloaded and began their inspections of the Golan's. With the World under First Order control, it had become a top priority to ensure its defences were brought online and full strength. Additional teams were dispatched to the surface to inspect the pair of V-200 Ion Cannons and the W-165 Planetary Turbolaser

Apart from increased general scans, nothing had been picked up to worry the crew of Borleian Spike. Amaranth had watched and waited while the crews deployed the stealthy packages into Byss space, until the stealth corvette had drifted close enough in toward the planet for the next stage of their mission to begin.
Timing was crucial, as the enemy were almost certain to detect what came next. Amy looked to the cargo master at one side of the bridge, who nodded the affirmative; they were ready. Helm was taking the vessel in cautiously, not using the engines lest the enemy detect trace emissions from the ship. The decoy they had sent out towards the North pole should have been misdirecting any enemy attention away from the southern region where Spike approached.
They were as close to the atmosphere as they dared. This was it. Amy gave the order. Now.Spike decloaked and launched a trio of ITDPs, one containing a full squad of twelve infiltration commandos, plus supplies and kit. The pod wasn't designed for stealth or comfort, only speed. The pods shot away towards the abandoned citadel on the surface, while the now decloaked Borleian Spike turned away at full power and made for an exit vector from the system.Get us out of here. Amaranth ordered, unnecessarily. The most dangerous part of their mission was yet to come. It was unlikely the enemy would just allow them to waltz away.Harnan Ren

As soon as the Borleian Spike decloaked, the Despot immediately pinged an alert to the Intimidator and the rest of the fleet, alerting Scourge Squadron to the vessels exact location. Captain Smith barely flinched as the alert appeared on the holodisplay before him Send the starfighters and bombers to intercept, use the Lancers and Sloane's to assist. Set the Menace to pursuit. Turn what ever it is to dust... Are the Devastator and Ravager still projecting their gravity wells?
They are reporting full operation... Sir, Despot is also reporting an object was launched towards the surface. Trajectory calculations should be coming through soon...
Move us into position once we have the landing location... we'll reduce their landing site to dust. Several Squadrons of TIE/fo Space Superiority Fighters, TIE/dg Starfighters, TIE/IT Interdictor Starfighters, Scimitar Mark I Assault Bombers, and TIE/AG Aggressor Starfighters converged toward the south pole and the currently fleeing Borleian Spike. Two squadrons of TIE/fo Space Superiority Fighters and TIE/dg Starfighters were the first to close in on the Spike, their laser cannons lighting up shortly thereafter as they fired on the vessel. Meanwhile, Havoc IX, X, and XI were the closet Lancer's and started angling toward the Spike, their forward laser cannons coming to life then. Punisher and Chastiser had some distance to cross, but had already directed their TIE/AG Aggressor Starfighters ahead of them. Targetting crews were already using sensor information from Despot to begin acquiring Concussion Missile locks. Menace fired up its engines to full power and moved from its position to begin pursuit. The gun crews were already feeding targetting information ready to begin firing upon the interloper as soon as they came in range. Something they would have time to do thanks to the gravity wells being projected by the pair of Gladiator III-class Star Destroyers which would prevent the Spike from making a hasty retreat to hyperspace any time soon.
The trajectory data from the Despot came through shortly after orders had been relayed and the vessels had started moving, allowing the Intimidator to shift its own position around the planet. Fortunately it did not take long before the Conservator-class Star Destroyer was in position over what local records noted was known as the Black Stone Citadel. Gun crews locked in the target location and began their targetted Orbital Strike

At full power, Spike made for an exit vector from the system. The locals had indeed woken up to the threat, with the bridge displays lighting up with danger warnings as the enemy showed their fangs. Amaranth held the armrests of her chair as the Spike roared away on an escape course. Give me everything you've got, helm. She said.Helm wasn't impressed. If i were holding anything back, I would tell you. The corvette raced away enemy fighters in hot pursuit. Her own point defense guns would engage the enemy starfighters once they came into range, though Spike was vastly outgunned by the Ren. Spike couldn't fight Star Destroyers, so she had to run for it. Outrunning the fighters and the gravity well projection cones would be the real trick. Spike's systems were throwing everything towards keeping her out of range of enemy fire as long as possible, because the array of firepower put up against them was more than enough to obliterate them from existence given enough time.
Spike's outbound course would take her away from the planet and the fighters and the enemy gravity well projections. Assuming the enemy couldn't shoot her down, her lead was enough that she would be able to jump to hyperspace.Harnan Ren
