Devastator powered up its engines and started shifting its position around Byss aiming to shift its gravity well further out into the path of the Spike. Meanwhile, the Victory III known as Torment targetted the drone over the north pole and fired a pair of proton torpedoes toward it. Menace launched several proton torpedoes toward the Spike then as the targetting solutions locked on. Meanwhile a pair of tractor beam operators began trying to get locks on the Spike, in an attempt to catch and slow its escape down. Punisher and Chastiser managed to confirm their locks as well and fired two dozen Concussion Missiles at the Spike, while their quad turbolasers started firing through the void.
The TIE pilots did their best to avoid the point defense fire, but a handful of TIE/dg's and TIE/fo's met their untimely ends. But the rest of the craft were undeterred in their pursuit. And even as some of them fell, reinforcements arrived to fill the lost fighters places. The TIE/AG's managed to catch up with the rest of the swarm of starfighters that were focused upon stopping the Spike from escaping. They quickly gathered locks and fired concussion missiles. The TIE/IT's were further back, but managed to fire off their Advanced homing missiles based on targetting solutions the Despot was feeding them. The Spike would now have to contend with the hail of laser and turbolaser fire being shot across the void toward them and the missiles that had been launched, along with the slowly extending gravity well produced by the Devastator[. The last of which would hopefully continue to hamber their escape efforts into hyperspace/span]

Borleian Spike's outbound course was taking her away from the planet and the fighters and the enemy gravity well projections. Assuming the enemy couldn't shoot her down, her lead was enough that she would be able to jump to hyperspace. That was until the enemy began launching missile volleys. The sensor operator called out a warning. We're gonna need to take evasive action.Amaranth considered the trap the enemy set, if they maneuvered to avoid the fighters and the missiles, they'd run the risk of staying longer within the trap of the gravity well. There was little choice if they wanted to survive, however.Amy swore under her breath, but gave the order. Evasive action then, but keep us outbound. Helm went to work throwing the corvette about, which made the work for her own armaments, but they had no shortage of targets, and could target far more than they could service. Nevertheless, as Spike rolled, pitched, and turned evasively, her point defense weapons continued to pummel away at the Ren starfighters.Amy knew this was a losing strategy, given enough time they would be trapped, but she had no other options available to her. Their outbound course wavered, and the pursuers gained every time she dodged. She held her nerve, and stayed the course, ignoring the worried looks from the more junior crewmembers on the Spike's bridge. The ship's deflector shields flashed from hit after hit, despite her helm officer's best efforts to evade. Missile impacts would only deplete the vessel's protection all the swifter.Borleian Spike Shields - 50% Hull - 100% Harnan Ren

Even as more and more TIE fighters were picked off by the point defence weapons, in total a full squadron each of TIE/dg's and TIE/fo's by this point, their pursuit did not cease. Those that fell were soon replaced by TIE's from other squadrons. Their laser cannons continued to spew forth laser fire across the void, while the TIE/AG's and TIE/IT's launched another volley of Concussion Missiles and Advanced Homing Missiles. With the Spike's escape speed decreasing, the TIE/AG's pushed their engines to bring them into range that they could add their own laser cannon fire to the barrage.
Punisher and Chastiser did not allow their crews much break, with the next volley of Concussion Missiles being loaded in shortly after the first ones were launched. As each tube was loaded, the next missile was fired through space as the pair of Sloane-class Destroyers continued their pursuit. Menace was also quick to launch another wave of Proton Toepedoes as the Victory III-class Star Destroyer continued to creep closer and closer to the Spike, its Turbolasers still shooting across the void in hopes of hitting the smaller vessel or providing it additional firepower to have to try and evade. Devastator continued to shift its way around Byss toward its position to extend the gravity well keeping the Spike grounded in real space.
With the distance between the Capital ships and the Spike closing, more hits would hopefully find their target and destroy it

Spike rolled, pitched, and turned evasively, her point defense weapons continued to pummel away at the Ren starfighters. Their outbound course wavered, and the pursuers gained every time she dodged. She stayed the course, the Captain stoically ignoring the worried looks from the more junior crewmembers on the Spike's bridge. Despite her gunners and helm's best efforts, hits continued to pount away at the fleeing ship.Stand by to cloak! Amy called. The response was quick in coming, and unpleasant in content.Cloaking device is fried, that last hit broke something important! The navigator called back over the alarm sounds.Amaranth swore. Borleian Spike was not going to escape, that was plain enough for anyone to see. Her evasive course had cost her too much time and distance, and she was still within the projected cone of the enemy vessel's gravity well projectors, and could not escape to lightspeed. The needle-like corvette ducked and weaved outward as best she could, but never quite made it to the edge of the projection before the Destroyer was able to adjust and trap her. A veritable cloud of enemy starfighters were in hot pursuit, pounding away at the fleeing vessel.Amaranth tried to ignore the blaring warnings and shouts of alarm from the bridge crew, and the tones of defeat in their voices. Command was a bitch, and she far preferred operating alone. A voice came over the comm. ::Stand by to break in three.:: Three seconds? Amaranth was incredulous. Whoever was commanding the first wave was a madman. And she knew that voice...
The three seconds took an eternity to pass. The sensor operator called the end of the wait. Ships emerging from hyperspace to starboard! Amaranth didn't wait for the rest. Hard to starboard! Now! Helm didn't have time for her usual retort, but threw the corvette into a hard turn onto the new ships' incoming vector.Borleian Spike's new course passed neatly between a pair of incoming Myrkr-class escort vessels, that came out of lightspeed guns blazing into the cloud of pursuing fightercraft. Along with the volleys of fire came blasts of Diamond Boron missiles into the swarms, directed neatly by the sensors of the Carrion Spike-class ship that had been their prey up until now. The new ships were Vornskr and Rathtar. Amaranth commed back to their erstwhile rescuer, having recognizing the voice of Flash Australis. ::Thanks for coming.::Flash's voice was amused. ::Oh, i'm not on the Vornskr, Captain. And I brought some friends.:: Amaranth's curiosity was piqued, but satisfied almost immediately as Flash arrived in all his usual fanfare, well visible on the Spike's viewscreen.Coming out of hyperspace at a right angle to the destroyer that had Spike in its gravity well projection appeared two more Myrkr-class escorts, and behind them, the Invincible Reason, Amy's brother's ship. The battleship was flanked to port and starboard by an escort, the three vessels pointed directly at the interdictor. Admiral Flash Australis looked over the Byss system from the command bridge of the Australis command vessel, and his eyes fell upon the interdictor. He pointed. Destroy that ship. Flash ordered.Invincible Reason, along with her escorts Strill and Acklay, followed orders and opened up on the Interdictor. The recent acquisitions of the Empire in the Deep Core, had necessitated the ISB’s presence to help secure the region and set up the appropriate security apparatus, particularly as the Emperor visited Teta. Dominator Command had been in the area to perform such tasks when they detected a small fleet, including a capital ship enter the Byss Run, a highly secure and monitored hyperspace lane. The fleet left Teta to move into pursuit, soon they received reports from the Ren fleet at Byss that they had engaged a stealth ship.
Only minutes after the Australis reinforcements had exited hyperspace, their pursuers did. First the Dominator, a Conservator Class Star Destroyer. It immediately fired the full force of its armaments at the rear of the Invincible Reason. Alongside it, dropped four Gladiator III Class Star Destroyers, two of which focused their fire on the Invincible Reason, the others trained their weapons on the Strill and Acklay. The Star Destroyers were also escorted by four Raider Class Corvettes which engaged the enemy’s corvette escorts.
Next, a Victory III Class Star Destroyer was pulled out of hyperspace by a Gladiator’s gravity wells right on top of the fleeing Borelian Spike. It engaged it’s tractor beam on the small stealth ship and attempted to capture it. Another Gladiator pulled a second Victory Class from hyperspace accompanied by four Sloane Class Destroyers on top of the Rathtar, the Victory’s tractor beams attempting to ensnare it as the destroyers fired away. Finally, four Ardent Class frigates were pulled out of hyperspace behind the Vornskr and engaged it. The small enemy fleet was well and truely surrounded and being attacked from all sides, cushy between the Ren fleet and the ISB fleet.

With the re-integration of Byss into the Imperial systems, trade between the Inner Core and the Core worlds has become more prosperous. For the Knights of Ren it was of vital importance to supply these systems with goods from other worlds, given that the imperial nobility had their own wealth readied to aid the First Order in those cases. The Kasalle Company thus profited a lot fromt their overlord's newest acquisition.
When battle broke out within the orbit of Byss, the two Kasalle Company Convoy Galleons didn't hesitate to follow up with their ships, originally intending to leave the trade docks of Byss for making their next stop at Coruscant. Commander Ilago of the Arkanian Household Legion observed the situation briefly before deciding to order both the Wendel and it's accompanying sister ship alongside the four Imperial Nebulon-B escort ships that were flanking the Venator-framed Star Destroyers to pursue the intruders, which the First Order was currently hunting. A quick call was sent out to the Imperial Navy that the household forces intended to aid the situation in order to avoid any confusion, once the Kasalle fleet would reach their destination, while on another frequency the Baron of the noble house was informed of Commander Ilago's decision. Given that Ilago had served over a long time for his overlord, he knew that this was a situation, where the Kasalles of Prakith would have ordered him to intervene. Not solely to aid their direct overlords on Prakith and to gain more favor among them as well, but also because of the informations and intel their fleet could gather from the situation. Buiseness was after all buiseness... and Nicademus' empire offered the most in the end. For the Imperial Credit remained in the end strong within the galaxy...

Given the incredibly tight security provided by only one single hyperspace route in and out of the Deep Core between Byss and Coruscant, the First Order and the Ren had been aware of the approaching fleet of ships before they finally arrived. It was part of the reason that John Smith had held most of the fleet back from engaging the Borleian Spike. Aside from the fact that it was a small craft, which had miraculously managed to avoid a literal shower of missiles and turbolasers, John was prepared for this incoming foe.
He wasn't sure how these, judging by their vessels, Mandalorians had expected this to go. But unlike most worlds, Byss did not have a dozen or more known and unknown routes in and out. This provided only one vector for the fleet to enter the system from, and with the Gravity Wells active, pull them out at. It also meant that while Scourge Squadron and the Kasalle trading fleet were in front of the invaders, the ISB and Obsidian Fleets came in right behind them. Catching them in a pincer movement.
Even before the arriving forces had exited hyperspace, the rest of Scourge Squadron had begun moving in preparation. So that when the quartet of Myrkr-Class Escort's and the modified Kandosii-class Dreadnaught exited hyperspace, miraculously somehow placing Devastator close by to the fleet's arrival, Torment was already closing against the Kandosii as it unleashed a torrent of missiles and turbolaser fire. Nemesis was still holding back as its main purpose as a carrier meant it was not suited for direct combat. Ravager had also shifted its positioning and gravity wells, aiding in the arrival of the additional First Order fleets while also aiding in preventing any enemy forces from escaping. Vindicator and Retaliator started acquiring targets upon the pair of Myrkr's flanking the Kandosii and fired off a barrage of missiles. Havoc's I-VIII held back a bit, clustering themselves relatively evenly between the Torment, Nemesis, and Ravager.
The Starfighter's had been alerted to the arrival of the incoming fleet and immediately began scrambling as the Myrkr-class Escort's dropped out of hyperspace in front of them on either side of the Spike. The Diamond Boron missiles were exceptionally deadly to starfighters, with half a dozen each of TIE/dg's and TIE/fo's being consumed by the missiles. The TIE/AG's and TIE/IT's had been far enough back that they were able to pull off from their pursuit and mostly evade the incoming fire, with fewer casualties striking them. Menace did not seem to pause in its pursuit as it continued on its path, changing targets from the Spike to the pair of Escort's that now existed on either side of it. The Proton Torpedo's and Turbolaser fire that had been intended to help destroy the Spike was fired instead upon the much larger Myrkr's which would not be able to dodge the incoming fire quite so easily. Punisher and Chastiser also made the quick change to the new intruders, with each Sloane-class choosing an Escort each and launching their missiles. Havoc IX, X, and XI pulled off their pursuits and formed up around the Menace.
Devastator had seemingly been caught out, with the Kandosii and it's pair of Myrkr's dropping out of space some distance away, but in line with the Gladiator III. The crew diverted power from the weapons to the shields and engines. The Gladiator III could not turn worth a damn, but in a straight line it was an exceptionally fast vessel for something of its size. The enemy fire came in, but Devastator was already moving well away from where they had fired at it. The few turbolaser shots that did manage to track it, impacted upon the shields

The arrival of Vornskr and Rathtar had most certainly saved Borleian Spike from certain doom at the hands of the Ren starfighters. With the arrival of Ren reinforcements, it now appeared as if the escorts had thrown themselves into the same frying pan as the Spike. Down the alley of safety the escorts provided Spike fled, the overlapping fire of the turrets on the escorts giving her a safe lane where enemy missiles and fighters would be obliterated. More hits still rocked the ship, but running the gauntlet saved their bacon. The tactical officer's call beat the helm's by a second. Shields are gone! Amy's stomach lurched as the ship rocked from a direct hit, but the helm's call restored her equilibrium. We're clear of the gravity well. Amy didn't hesitate. Jump! Spike's hyperdrive spun up, and she shot away to lightspeed and safety, clear of the battlespace.Or so they thought. After only maybe a second of lightspeeed the ship crashed back into realspace. Amy swore. Another gravity well! The helm called out. Amy didn't have time for more swearing. All power to engines, get us clear. We'll exit the system at sublight if we damn well have to. Go!The tractor beams that had failed to grasp Spike as she'd made her run past the Victory-III had ensnared Rathtar, who was bravely fighting on despite the volleys of fire that pounded her shields. Vornskr was taking heavy fire too, but was still able to maneuver for the next phase. Rathtar had to launch her six K-wing bombers, but Vornskr's bombers were able to carry out a Loran Spitball and fire from the open hangar. The slow speed and vulnerability on bombing runs of the K-wing were nicely negated by the point blank range of the engagement. The bombers' turbolasers added their own fury to the fight, blasting away at the Victory 3. Between them, twelve loads of Ion Torpedoes shot out at point blank range into the Victory-III that held Rathtar. The turbolasers on the escorts engaged the enemy, though they were hopelessly outgunned and surrounded. At the other end of the battle, Flash saw on the bridge holodisplay the enemy fleet emerging from hyperspace astern. So, the game's afoot, eh? He thought to himself. Bring us around. Flash called to the helm. Hit those escorts and let's send our visitors out. Invincible Reason began a ponderous turn to starboard, coming around to face the attackers to her rear. Invincible Reason, Acklay and Strill launched their own bombers, making for eight full squadrons. At such close range, they barely had to clear the hangar before forming up for volley fire, which was fortunate. The escorts stayed in formation with the Reason, though each was also taking heavy fire from the enemy.
Each of the four Gladiators escorting the Dominator recieved one squadron's worth of Ion Torpedoes, leaving three squadrons to fire torpedoes on Dominatoritself. The K-wings blasted away with their turbolasers at the enemy escorts as they fired their missile volleys. Admiral Flash Australis wasn't going to fight fair, certainly not with the odds stacked against his pitiful little band. Of course, he wasn't here to destroy the enemy fleet. He was here to keep them away from Byss, and so far they were playing along nicely. The strategy of utilising mass volleys of ion torpedoes at close range was sound, to the Admiral's mind. Temporarily disabling capital ships was far easier than destroying them outright. Flash wondered if the enemy's command had looked beyond an easy victory to the underlying strategy. He hoped not, because the longer they played along, the better the chance that the Alor's ridiculous plan would actually work. He felt for the crews and pilots on Rathtar and Vornskr, whose sacrifice had allowed Spike to escape; those two ships were almost certainly doomed. The commanders knew what was being asked of them, but knew that their sacrifice would serve a greater purpose, and for the glory of death in battle; no small sacrifice to be sure, but one made willingly and knowingly.
Flash knew the Field Marshal wasn't the type to go on the offensive without an ace in the hole, and he'd brought several of them to Byss. They would be revealed as needed, and mostly to the Ren's detriment. Nexus and Kaine had laid their trap well indeed, Flash had decided when he'd seen it that it must have been the Dark Lord's plan, it was far too detailed for Kaine. Still, so far, everything was transpiring according to Nexus' grand design. For how long that would stay the case, Flash didn't know, but he could hope. Entering the battle from the far distance Commander Ilago gave command to the starfighter squadrons to leave the hangar bays. The silhouettes of TIE Harbingers could be spotted, as they left the side-hangars of the Venator-framed ships that now came as reinforcements to their overlords. Although a TIE model designed for atmospheric combat, the performance of the Harbinger within Space was nontheless nothing to underestimate, given that these ships were slightly more durable than the standart First Order TIE fighter and featured an Astromech on their wingside, similiar to the Jedi's starfighters during the times of the Clone Wars. With the fighter's recent successes over Cato Neimoidia and the belief of Baron Kasalle's into the designs, co-developed by his Grandadmiral daughter, the Kasalle Company had bought additional stocks of these fighters from Kuat in order to maintain controll over mining sites with few dedicated fighters. Ilago saw it as a test to his household pilots to see, whether they could handle a conjoined operation with the First Order in an actual battle. Most of the pilots had trained for such a scenario within the flight simulators on Prakith, now was the moment of truth. With four squadrons of TIE Demolishers following the mass of 72 Harbingers from the two core ships alone, additional squadrons of the Harbinger were launched from the accompanying Nebulon-Bs.
While the bombers and fighters would do their bombing run upon the enemies' main flagship of the enemy fleet, given that the chaos of battle was the best cover for the Company fleet, further orders were given out to concentrate fire upon the escort ships of the fleet. Following the traditions of the Open Circle Fleet, both vessel coordinated their movements with the canoneers at the ventral hangar bay in order for the massdriver cannon inside being able to shoot at one of the remaining Mykr-class escorts each from a safe distance. Once in position the artillery support would continiue with the Imperial Nebulon-Bs flanking both company vessels in order to shoot down approaching starfighters and other minor nuissances, the enemy would throw at them. Ilago nearly pitied the enemy forces for their foolish decision to seek conflict with the First Order over one of the Imperial core worlds. Nearly as foolish as an assault upon Coruscant and Muunilinst themselves. Incidents like these happened weekly within the First Order and the outcome was always the same... pirates, smugglers and warlords sacrificing a portion of their fleet for nothing. Even if they destroyed nowadays one of the older Star Destroyers, two new ones would take their place, stronger, better than the Empire ever was. What has assembled here in terms of Imperial ships was nothing, compared to what the outer systems had to fear, once the Emperor commanded them to pacify the rest of the galaxy. The true might of an Empire... and just witnessing a brink of it, made the Commander briefly smile, as he watched the slaugther unfold. Glory to the First Order! Glory to the Ren!

Post-Incursion by Kaine Australis and Lord Nexus
Several weeks had passed since Byss had become the location of an incursion by would be invasion forces. After the attacking forces had been driven off, Harnan Ren had increased the priority for the workers to finish repairing the pair of Golan III Space Defence NovaGun stations sitting in orbit of Byss. In the days and weeks since, workers and supplies had been flowing into the Byss system and focusing intensely upon the repair works. At long last, however, those works were finally completed. Those with a discerning eye, however, would note that one of the Golan III stations was unlike the other.
Where before a pair of identical Golan III Space Defence NovaGun's had sat, one had been specially refit with a special Interdiction kit that the First Order had laid out specifications for. Byss was a unique location in the galaxy. The Byss Run was the only known hyperspace route in and out of the Deep Core, meaning there was only one entry and exit point for traffic to pass through. Indeed, there certainly existed rumours that there were a handful of secret routes within the Deep Core allowing passage to Byss. However, enemy forces seeking to use those routes would have to substantially invest time, money, and resources into mapping just a single one of them. As such, the Byss Run was the primary point of concern.
To that end, the pair of Golan III Space Defence NovaGun's had been positioned such that they were within the hyperlane path. While one station would sit there ready to fire on anything hostile that appeared, the Refit was ready to activate its Gravity Well generators upon alert of unauthorised traffic upon the Run. This meant the Refit could cover the lane and stand as a menacing bulwark opposite enemy forces

A TiFirespray 31-class patrol and attack craft slipped into Byss orbit quietly and proceeded towards the planet. Shakk commented -Shakk- "Pretty dark out there...." Alem looked at her sister asking - Alem- "You feel it too - eh?" Her sister's brows creased and she said -Shakk- "No, I was just looking out a window and commented on how dark it is out there." Alem sucked her anger together, packing it into that little ball she held deep inside and allowed to explore at an appropriate time. She found this very therapeutic. Shakk pulled a pamplet from the duffle bag -Shakk- "Cool. A travelers guide to Byss!" Handing to Alem -Shakk- "They got a picture of that Nexus dude in there." The pair of Golan III stations hung in orbit, maintaining their usual scans and checks of traffic coming to and fro. Any vessel coming to Byss would be hard pressed to miss the behemoths which were accompanied by the Gladiator I-class Star Destroyer known as The Dominatrix, and its escorts of a pair of Omicron-class Frigate's known as The Servus and The Familiaris. While it seemed a meager force, Captain Adler knew it was sufficient for Byss. It kept the Ren's presence known to those transiting orbit. Once groundside, the presence of the Purge Troopers would be more than enough to quell any doubts. For the time being, Captain Adler observed the comings and goings of her crew, while awaiting further orders from Lady Neith

Passing through was an utter disappointment. Gid shrugged. The mechanic was a nice fellow. She hoped for their sake that they weren't trying to make anything from the tourism industry. The ship passed through orbit quite easily. She noticed one Golan platform. But it made no hail. Nor did they dispatch anything to trail them. Made sense though; they must have consider her craft about as dangerous as a fart in a Tatooine wind storm. Coming to the edge of orbit she made the jump to hyperspace

A flicker of pseudomotion and a flash of blue as well as an outpouring of cronau radiation denoted the arrival of a ship from hyperspace into the Byss system. A large vessel, almost two kilometers in length, and with a significant tonnage, she was a bulk cargo hauler. The ship's name was Bronco Buster, registered to Beast Transport Logistics, a legitimate haulage corporation on Coruscant. Her IFF was on and transmitting, however the vessel had no shields or weapons of her own, her only modern equipment consisting of a military grade communications suite.
Aboard the freighter were a cargo of various beasts, all secured in their own cargo holds along with sufficient feed. Along with the creatures, there were a crew of droids, all YVH models. The Captain was an older man, a human from Borleias, though he didn't actually work for the BTL company, he wore one of the uniforms in case anyone looked through the bridge viewports. He was one of Clan Australis' intelligence operatives, and was running point for this mission. All the beast handlers were likewise of Clan Australis, and between them and the battle droid crew, they made for a formidable force, covered nicely as an agricultural transport.Captain Arkan Australis, reassured by the fact that today's plan wasn't one of Kaine's, activated the comm. Come in Byss Control, this is Captain Arkan of the freighter Bronco Buster requesting a landing clearance. Cargo is livestock. He transmitted a fabricated manifest along with the comm message, showing the same number of creatures, but more harmless and benign lifeforms rather than the ravenous and carnivorous nasties actually aboard. Likewise the crew were listed as maintenance and custodial droids, not YVH models that could take on a Jedi. Now came the interesting part, waiting for the other side to react. A harmless unarmed freighter, Byss was an unusual destination, but the folks living there had to eat too, right? Confident, Arkan watched the space to see if any warships made themselves known.
Talking their way into Byss was part of Plan A. Arkan was confident in Plan A, and hopeful of its success. He knew full well that in Kaine Australis' way of thinking, Plan B was always to shoot everything in sight, and all he had was a great big slow target ship. Scans of his ship would match the manifest he'd sent to Byss Control. Only a close inspection would prove otherwise, and he had instructions in the case of being boarded.

Conducting their trade buiseness with the Deep Core, another Convoy Galley of the Kasalle Company was delivering goods towards the surface of the planet, the Venator-frame vessel maintaining it's position over the star port of Byss alongside the Imperial Nebulon-Bs, that accompanied the light Star Destroyer. Mainly the Kasalle family imported trade goods and minerals towards the planet alongside with weapons and vehicles, that were produced on other worlds of the First Order, given that the planet's native production would require goods from the outside. Thus the deals struck with the other imperial families and the production value of the Solomon Mines on Aargau guarenteed, that Baron Kasalle and his family could maintain their tribute towards the sector of their overlord, as the desire for wares from outside was high by those, that had dwelled within the Deep Core for so long in isolation. Here, within the center of the former Galactic Empire, the praise for Palpatine and the old ideals was still given, still maintained. The Ren continiued this legacy, showing that they could continiue this strong heritage. Maintain a similiar position that Darth Vader hold towards the Empire before Endor.
One way or another the Kasalle family benefitted from these overlords, for it became obvious that they tried to increase their influence. Even on the surface various training camps for houseguards have been set up, so that the company could maintain it's private army and the officers that worked aboard their small, yet effective trade fleet. The Ren ruled in the end the Deep Core, wheras their underlings ensured, that they would hold controll over the imperial market.

Birth of the Skin Changer - Interlude
Thanks to their relative positioning and the relative safety of the single hyperspace route approach, the trip through hyperspace from Prakith to Byss was uneventful and fast as always. What wasn't uneventful, was the shuttle's arrival out of hyperspace above Byss. The Golan III Space Defense NovaGun (Interdictor Refit) took up most of the shuttle's viewport, while between them and it sat a shuttle of an unknown design and origin with several TIE Fighters sitting as guards. Harnan had hoped to make his trip to Byss and get to work helping Fiora with her shapeshifting powers as quick as possible. However this intrusion had taken priority the moment he was informed of it.
The shuttle passed by the intruder and docked with the station, with Harnan quickly making his way to the operations centre of the Golan III. There, he learned the vessel had arrived from hyperspace and requested a meeting with the Master of the Ren. It had then sat there, its shields down, while it waited. Harnan stepped up to the command table, where the comm line to the vessel was opened Unidentified Vessel, this is Harnan Ren, Master of the Knights of Ren. I suggest you speak fast and with purpose before I order your destruction...

Birth of the Skin Changer - Interlude
The Trillizo-class Assault Shuttle was not Silas' usual method of transportation. He had preferred his personal TIE/D Defender for moving from world to world when his fleet was unavailable. But today's mission would have been jeopardized if he had shown up with his starfighter and a couple others. While the Trillizo was armed, it was a more commonly acceptable form of transportation that would not be viewed as threatening. Thus Silas had requisitioned one, naming it the Prophet's Hand for his trip to Byss. His mission here was a precarious one, and he needed to ensure success as much as possible.
The Diarchy had collapsed some months after the coup he had led against Torkan. A series of unfortunate power struggles and attacks by rogue elements had contributed to the Diarchy's collapse. But Silas had been prepared. His visions having warned him of the sudden change in course and directing him toward a new group to lend his aide to. Zariel had still been missing when he had been forced to abandon the Imperial Remnant, but his visions had shown that she was still alive and he would meet her again in due time. For now, his focus was upon a new Princess whom would be partial to the true ways of the Force.
Thus he had come here to Byss, to meet with the Master of the Knights of Ren. His years serving Palpatine's Empire had given him a goo knowledge of how to traverse the route in and out of the Deep Core. His foresight had also allowed him to time his arrival perfectly to coincide with that of the Ren's. And sure enough, his audience with Harnan Ren soon began It is an honor to meet you Harnan Ren. I am Silas Darkstar, former Eye of the Inquisition to the Solenbaran Diarchy, and formerly a Prophet of the Dark Side to the Galactic Empire. I have come here to offer my services and a gift to the Knights of Ren. I ask only for your time to meet in person. If you are not convinced by that which I have to propose to you, then you can deal with me how you see fit...

Birth of the Skin Changer - Interlude
Harnan lifted his gaze from the holodisplay to the main viewscreen where an enhanced image of the Shuttle was on display. He had seen the reports of the Imperial remnant forces in the Corporate Sector. Atlantia and Samarra had compiled a decently extensive report on the group and its structure. At the time, Harnan had dismissed them as an imminent threat. Like most Imperial Warlords, their hold on power was tenuous and would require a great deal of time for them to build up into a cohesive force. Assuming there was any correlation between his two former roles, then Silas seemed to be hinting that the Diarchy was no more. The alternatives were that Silas had been stripped of his position as was seeking out the Ren/First Order for a revenge plot, or he was merely putting on a charade.
A quick coded message was dispatched out to Atlantia and Samarra, informing the pair to divert from their existing missions when possible and investigate the Corporate Sector. In the mean time, Harnan was certainly happy to keep Silas as a guest, or prisoner, until he could be sure of the man's true intentions. Silas had already made clear his life was Harnan's to do with as he wanted. Something Harnan was certain Silas might come to regret as the Master of the Ren activated the holo transmitted. The upper half of his body appearing on any projectors Silas would have access to My time is a precious commodity, Silas Darkstar. Waste it, and it will be the last thing you do... Docking bay Echo is free. I will meet you there. I hope, for your sake, that you have something incredibly amazing to offer...

Birth of the Skin Changer - Interlude
As soon as landing clearance was granted to land in Docking Bay Echo, the Prophet's Hand was on the move across the void toward the modified space station. Silas' agents had been scouting the First Order territory for some time reporting their findings back to the former Eye. Amongst their reports had been design modifications to a Golan III which included Gravity Well Generators. Something which would be extremely advantageous to have setup here at Byss.
It took only a few moments for the Prophet's Hand to traverse the distance to the Station. The wings folding up into their landing configuration as the Trillizo crossed through the hangar shield and came to rest on its landing gear a few moments after that. Silas descended the boarding ramp and looked out at the company of Purge Troopers as they finished taking their positions. A central avenue led from the Shuttle to the Hangar Bay doors where Silas expected Harnan to appear from in a few moments. He could already sense shifts in the Force as events played out across the First Order, as survivors of the Diarchy's collapse sought refuge with a new Imperial Power.
Many of whom would resent his actions, while one above them all would want his head. He had gambled one stay of her blade when he had joined the Diarchy. But he would need something impressive to stay her hand again

Birth of the Skin Changer - Interlude
The doors opened and Harnan strode into the Hangar Bay, passing along the central thoroughfare up to where Silas was standing. His shield and spear were slung across his back, while his saber was attached to the back of his belt. He was as ready as ever for a fight, even if Silas proclaimed to come in peace with an offering for the Ren. Silas and his ilk were untrustworthy, viewing their intellect and world of spy-craft as superior weapons to all others. Harnan would dissuade the man of such foolish notions if he sought to press such a point You have your audience Silas... Do not make me regret wasting my time. What gift and services do you have to offer the Ren, now that your former government has fallen?
