*The Council Chambers... empty, save for the man sitting cross-legged in the center, a pile of lightsaber components on the ground in front of him. The pure white crystal hovered in the air above the pieces as the man looked over them, mentally piecing them together, preparing them for their construction.
Just then the door groaned open, in stepping a man with shoulder-length blond hair, kept at bay within his beanie. He saw the scene before him and frowned.* "If you're building a lightsaber, why'd you ask me to bother you?"
"Because I had a message for you," *Aerandir responded calmly, the pieces lifting from the floor and taking up orbit around the crystal.* "It, too, couldn't wait."
*The other man hesitated, staring at him a moment, then sighed as he stepped in, letting the door close behind him. He stepped past the ring of Council seats and stood facing Aerandir, arms folded.* "Fine then. Tell me how 'Joey Dionne' is so galaxy-renowned that someone has a message for him." *He let the sardonic words simmer a bit before he suddenly frowned.* "It's not that one chick, is it?"
*Aerandir similarly frowned, furrowing his brows, the objects before him suddenly pausing in place.* "What?"
*Joey shook his head.* "Never mind, obviously it's not her."
*With a shrug of his head, he replied,* "No, someone more important." *The components began to move once more, this time in a deliberate pattern, beginning to line up with the crystal.* "Damian wants you to not worry about him anymore. He's content, with his friend Jamie."
"What?!" *Joey's eyes widened and he looked about, as though Damian were somewhere present. Eyes finding the meditating Master again, he demanded,* "How'd you talk to Damian?!"
*Showing no change in his expression, Aerandir explained,* "When I went to Tython, the Force... overcame me. I melded into its flow and could seemingly see into every time period at once. So great was Ashla's flow that, briefly, I transcended this plane into Harmony. There I met Jamie again... More importantly, at least to you, Damian was there."
"I... you..." *Joey frowned and looked away.* "Terrific. Even when your Padawan's dead, you can still talk to him and apparently mine too!"
*Aerandir closed his eyes and sighed.* "Damian gives me a special message to give you from the afterlife, and all you're gonna do about it is complain?"
*Joey was silent for several moments before gritting his teeth.* "Sorry. I'm just not over it."
"And he wants you to get over it. He asked how you were and that was his response when I told him that you blamed yourself."
*A groan escaped Joey's throat.* "I can't just 'get over it'!"
"I didn't tell you the part where I broke down and apologized to Jamie for costing him his own life."
*Joey's eyes widened and he seemed in disbelief. Finally, he looked upon Aerandir, stammering,* "B-but when it happened, you... you seemed way too calm about it! Not like, in a heartless way, but you didn't cry, nothing!"
*Aerandir nodded.* "I didn't, because at that time I could only think about how legitimate this new threat was, and that I had to stop it before more deaths like Jamie's occurred. I had toddler sisters to be strong for. I guess with that focus in mind, I'd deceived myself into believing I'd accepted his sacrifice until, well, I was finally face to face with him. Apologizing was the only thing I could think to do."
*Silence fell again as Joey studied Aerandir several moments, still surprised at this revelation. At length, he asked,* "What'd Jamie say?"
*A small smile crossed Aerandir's lips.* "The same thing I'd led myself to believe all these years: That his sacrifice was necessary. That without me, Michelle and Annabelle wouldn't have had a brother to raise them, and who knows what would've happened to Morgan."
*Joey clicked his tongue and looked away, the shadow of a smile on his lips.* "That kid always was too polite for his own good."
"So was Damian, despite his hotheaded Master," *Aerandir joked with a smirk, the lightsaber components now more properly aligned.
Joey's smile became genuine and even a soft laugh escaped.* "You're right about that. Honestly he kept me in check a lot of the time." *That statement forced a frown to usurp his expression, his teeth gritting once more.* "That's why I'm so messed up right now."
"You're not alone, Joey."
"I'm not, but I sure feel like it." *He turned and began to storm off, stopping after three steps and holding still for several seconds. Finally, he looked over his shoulder.* "Sorry, Aerandir, but I still need time to recover."
*Aerandir understood and said nothing more as the man left the Council Chambers and Aerandir sat alone once more. As concerned as he was for his friend, other obligations demanded his attention. Joey would recover, and Aerandir would see to it he spent some time with the man.
But the crystal's housing needed completing. The pieces were all in place, and all he had to do was to put them together. He exhaled, then closed his eyes, focus now fully taken by the crystal and the components. He analyzed each and every piece as they hovered, twisting, realigning before slowly coming together. Small clicks were heard as the pieces conjoined to become something larger, more whole. Each part twisted and tightened, ensuring the final creation was quite sturdy...
At last, he heard the small whine that signaled it was ready. He opened his eyes, examining the hilt that now hovered horizontally before him. It slowly spun along its axis, allowing him to study every part, every angle. Each piece seemed properly in place, and the crystal shone brilliantly through the transparent casing.
He reached out, took it in his hand. A brief rush of Force energy swept through him, implanting many images; various locations, people, and events. Everywhere he had been, everyone he had been close to, giving him a sense of history and of what to preserve. The past could not be changed, but it could be learned from. The future was what he would fight for, and this new blade— No, he was the tool he would use to defend peace in the galaxy.
His thumb reached for the activation plate but it stopped just before making contact.* "You will only ever be drawn when needed," *he declared, standing and lowering the weapon to his belt. He hooked it and looked about the chamber, then nodded to himself.* "I know what I must do next." *And with those words, he left.*

Plur Jajamal lead the procession of Temple Guardians, with The Sable Count in the middle. The doors to the Chambers slid open, to reveal the circular room. Almost all of the Council was present and seated, save for a couple places. Those seats were reserved for Grand Master Calmcacil, Master Rawkill, and Master Roma. All of whom were out on other business. But the rest of the Council was more than capable of dealing with matters without the trio.
The Temple Guardians stopped at the door, as Plur lead Aderon all the way into the center of the council chambers. The Jawa motioned for the Count to stop in the middle, before proceeding over to his seatCouncil members, I present Count Aderon Dooku of Serenno. He wishes an audience with this council...

Aderon bowed, as custom dictated, before these great men and women. “Revered masters of the Jedi Order, I bid you a most respectful greeting.” He remained kneeling until he was told to rise.

The gathered Masters gave an assortment of head nods and seated bows in response to Aderon's greeting. Many of them were still trying to get a read on this successor to the Dooku bloodline. There was certainly no great evil within him, like Darth Tyranus had once had. There was certainly a light there, and something that could almost give one hope. It was then, that a rather scantily clad female Jedi Master wearing a blind fold motioned for him to stand So... What is it that you seek from the Jedi Council?

*Aerandir stood in the center of the Council Chambers, his head bowed as he meditated within the Force, preparing for his current task. The Treaty of Manaan had been signed. Open warfare had ceased. And at last, he'd come face-to-face with the greatest traitor he'd ever known. Their conversation offered little insights... But something else did.
Throughout history, the great bastions of the Jedi Order had been known to the galaxy. Whether Coruscant or Yavin IV, the galaxy knew where to find the Jedi when they needed them. Recently? Aerandir could not say that was exactly the case. Certainly, when the Order was splintered, finding the various Temples was an easier feat. Felucia, however, had always been sort of an odd case in that it was a more little-known Jedi stronghold throughout the galaxy. Even as the central location of the Order; it seemed the galaxy had no real clue where they called home.
That had to be corrected.
Truthfully, there was a strategic edge to being a relatively-unknown location... but it was antithetical to the core of what the Jedi Order should be. After some discussion with the Council, they agreed that it was time to change this.
With a wave of his hand, the holoprojector began to broadcast his image on an open HoloNet channel. As he lowered himself to one knee, he spoke.* "Citizens of the galaxy, I am Aerandir Calmcacil, Grand Master of the Jedi Order. I come before you as a humble servant of the galaxy to say that it's time for us to stop hiding. Our location was not known to our enemy... but conversely, nor to our allies. We're not meant to hide, we're meant to serve where we are needed. And for when we are needed... we are on Felucia. We are here, waiting, ready and willing to serve the galaxy as is our duty to you. We shall once more be the proactive peacekeeping force in the galaxy, and as such, we cannot be invisible to those who need us the most. So I say again, if our aid is needed, look to Felucia, and as well to Corellia. May the Force be with you."
*He bowed his head subserviently for a few moments before a subtle flick of his finger deactivated the holocam. He remained knelt a few moments longer before he stood to his feet. Yes, he knew the risks of this... but better to be wary of enemy sabotage now than to not suspect it in the first place. Not that the First Order would dare attempt any overt sabotage during these times of "peace," but they were not the Jedi's only enemies. The entire Order had been prepared for this moment.
He stood at last and departed the Council Chambers. There was work to be done.*

*There had been one loose end Aerandir had left, based on a nagging sensation he had felt a few years ago but never had the resources to explore. Nor did the target seem too keen to be found. But his newfound abilities allowed him to search the stars, explore this avenue; something he only did when he had those rare moments to himself.
He was able to explore the Force and found that the source of his concern was exactly what he thought it was, centered around a certain Sith on Clak'dor VII. Familiar in presence, foreign in appearance, the Sith lorded over the Bith homeworld in apparent recluse, and seemingly had done so for some time.
Aerandir watched and waited, knowing he could make contact at any time but waiting for the right moment. Finally, as the Jedi meditated within the council chambers, he found the Sith doing the same in his own chamber. He reached out, almost expecting to be rejected. To his surprise, the call was accepted, and the chamber before him morphed into a cold, featureless room, an elderly Sith kneeling before him, head bowed.*
"So," *said Aerandir,* "that's what you really look like."
*The hooded feature looked up, revealing a rather average-looking bearded man; quite a contrast to the twisted face Aerandir knew.* "Calmcacil," *he greeted without emotion.*
"I'd respond in kind, but I guess I don't actually know your true name," *Aerandir lied.*
"Nor do you need to. Why have you contacted me?"
*The Jedi shrugged his shoulders.* "Just wanting to confirm a hunch I had years ago. Surprised I hadn't yet seen your face in person, to be honest."
"You grew beyond my concern." *The Sith stood, folding his arms behind his back.* "Fixating upon you would only be repeating my past mistakes."
*Also getting to his feet, Aerandir replied,* "Surprisingly mature of you. So who are you subjugating now? Bith, right?"
*The scowl that crossed Sobrius's brow did not go unnoticed by Aerandir.* "Do you plan on killing me again?" *asked the Sith evenly.
Aerandir shook his head.* "Wouldn't be 'again,' that was Ambar's doing. Besides, it's painfully obvious merely killing you isn't good enough..."
*Sobrius gave a dry laugh as he began to pace back and forth.* "You are not the only one to develop incredible power."
*The Jedi remained put, following the Sith's movements with his eyes.* "So it seems. Something else you picked up, chasing Sidious's coattails?"
*If this struck a nerve, Sobrius didn't allow it to show.* "He made mistakes. As did I. Mistakes I will not repeat. Your display does not frighten me, Jedi."
"Nor does your apparent immortality scare me. There are methods of combating it."
*Sobrius nodded.* "Just as there are ways of combating your new skills."
*A slight smirk crept onto the Jedi Master's lips.* "So am I back on your radar, then? I'm flattered."
"Clearly the opposite is also true. I look forward to our inevitable game of wit."
*Nothing more need to be said. Aerandir closed the connection, the scene before him morphing back into the Jedi Council Chambers.* "In due time," *he said to himself, as he strode forth out of the room.*

*Opening the doors to the Council Chambers, Aerandir strode inside, leading in Master Son'tir. The chambers were empty, probably for the best, though if another Councilor had been present it would likely not have been an issue. Once the doors closed behind them, Aerandir strode towards the center of the room before turning to face Master Son'tir.* "First of all, you seem a little more tense than usual," *he noted with a look of concern.* "Anything the matter?"

Jedi Master Will Son'tir shuffles in just after Grandmaster Aerandir Calmcacil, looking a bit awkwardly stiff in the traditional jedi garbs. Will's icy blue eyes investigates the room, making note of the slight similarities and differences to the othe council chambers that Son'tir has occupied before; including the High Council chamber that both the Aer and Will has sat on together in the not too distant past. . Will was always a dissenting opinion on the Council, arguing against rigid caste systems, stretching the Order too thin over the galaxies problems. His zeal got the better of him as the Council took a closed door vote to have him removed from leadership. To save face, the High Council appointed him as the head of the Watchmen Corps and liaison to the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, Cihlbar on Mon Calamari. There a Secret sect of Sith corrupted elections, assassinated the Chancellor, and began the dissent of what was the Republic. Son'tir chased the Sith to the outer rim and the edge of the Unknown Region, where he discovered that these Sith were just pawns preparing the galaxy for the rise of the First Order.
It wasn't until very recently that Will Son'tir returned to debrief at his old home assignment, the Corellian Academy, battered and bruised in more than one way. High Master Serrin Roma, eager to put him back on the right path, got him back in to teaching lessons, taking Padawans, and now dispatching him to diplomatic meetings. But Will's own pride is the least of the two masters' problems.
As Will's eyes scans, he makes not that they were indeed alone. His fingers slide absent-mindedly across the arm of a council seat; scoffs to himself as he hears Aer say,
"First of all, you seem a little more tense than usual," he noted with a look of concern. "Anything the matter?"
With a bored raise of his eyebrows, and heavy eyelids, Will says "You want that chronologically? Or Alphabetically?" He allows the question to set unanswered as a rhetorical one. He breathes in exhales heavily as he sits on the same arm of the council seat, crossing his leg out in front of him, clicking the toes of the knee high boots together a few times. He rubs the closely shaven sides of his head; then through the longer parted on top. Will exhales again.
"The galaxy has changed. The First Order has taken the galaxy, the Republic has fallen and the GA is sinking. I read the debriefs, and I have seen your transmissions, the members of the Order are not responding to the recall; the cows are not coming home to graze. Are numbers are dwindling and our enemies are multiplying." Will shrugs matter-of-factly; seeming very resentful of what he has to say. "The Force, for one reason or another, has . .plagued me with visions. As much as I fought to ignore it, Darkness is coming for us. All of us. And I don't have the answer to what comes next; one thing I do know, Aer: what we are doing now-- isn't working." Having leveled with Aer, he folds his arms across the flowing jedi robes, and rubs the fine sand paper that is the scruff of his face; seeming to fidget at something. The Force will not let him go. . .

*Aerandir would have laughed at the rhetorical question if he didn't think Master Son'tir meant it seriously. In fact, it only completed his picture of the man, even as he began listing every single one of his concerns. Concerns Aerandir did not take lightly; concerns that had in part been the push on his galaxy-side search for enlightenment. While he did not share Master Son'tir's pessimism, he did share his worries.*
"Were it that every Knight of the Order unlocked the secrets of Oneness with Ashla," *he lamented,* "peace would always reign in the galaxy." *Sighing, he shook his head.* "It's a tough situation, where we see ourselves. The Galactic Alliance does not have the leadership the Republics of old once held... and I'm very hesitant to make our Jedi Generals and repeat the mistakes of the Old Jedi Order. Indeed, it's a new day for the Jedi, where we're not bound by restrictive codes that impeded our very ability to carry out our duties, so perhaps things could be different." *Leveling his gaze with the Corellian, he asked,* "I would hear your every concern and suggestion. Every voice in the Order has weight."

It had taken a few minutes but I had finally convinced the deckhand that I was indeed a Jedi and not just some lunatic, although maybe they thought I was a Jedi AND a lunatic.... for that matter maybe I am. In any case I think it was more the lightsaber and various lightsaber-like things on my belt that ultimately tipped the scales rather than my words. Having only been here once I definitely got lost and had to repeat the process of asking about Will and convincing the person in question that I was actually allowed to be here three more times before finally being told that Will had gone with the grandmaster to the council chambers. I then had to repeat it one more time when I realized I had absolutely no clue where the council chambers were. If Will had just woken me up like he was supposed to I wouldn't have to have so many strangers look at me funny. I grumble to myself a little before taking a sip from the flask and resuming my search.
After about 10 more minutes attempting to diligently follow the last directions I had gotten, and mostly just wondering around some more, I finally arrive at the doors to the Council Chambers. I vaguely consider knocking, must only for a moment, before pushing the doors open. I wasn't trying to be loud exactly but I also wasn't sneaking in. Swinging the doors open in front of me I feel my usual half-smile rise to my grey bearded face as my eyes fall on the two men. It had been a long time since I had seen Aerandir Calmcacil, in fact the last time I had seen him had been nearly a decade ago and he certainly hadn't been grandmaster of the Jedi order. Not knowing, or really caring too much, exactly how I should formally present myself I decide to just be me. Stepping forward to the younger man I proffer the flask out too him. How's it going kid? I ask with a genuine happy smile before following it up quickly with a second question, shaking the flask just a little for emphasis. Drink?

*Aerandir's gaze was drawn to the entrance as he sensed a familiar presence, even as the doors opened to reveal the form of Mike Frantz. Despite the current topic, Aerandir managed a smile of his own, somewhat relieved at the informal greeting. He shook his head at the offer of a drink, replying,* "No thanks, I'm not much of one for it." *He turned to face the second Corellian more fully.* "It's good to see you again." *Looking aside to Master Son'tir, he asked,* "Did he come with you?"

*To Bix's knowledge, Aerandir was meant to be having a conversation with a Master from Corellia... which was why he was hesitant to interrupt, but it seemed he had no choice. This Caamas situation was tricky, but needed to be addressed. So, as he arrived at the Council Chambers, he took a deep breath before pushing the doors and striding in.*
"Masters," *he greeted with a bow. He then focused on Aerandir and hesitated before greeting him as,* "Master Calmcacil, may I present... er... the Courier from Caamas. He has a message for you from its government."
*As he stepped aside and gestured for the Mandalorian to approach Aerandir, the latter, intrigued, nodded an excusal to Masters Frantz and Son'tir before approaching the Mandalorian.* "Welcome to Felucia. What's the nature of the message?"

Kebiin follows his guide into the council chamber and waits for his turn to speak. This was a complex request, but he would do his best to keep it simple.
I have been contracted by individuals representing interests on Camaas to deliver some legal forms regarding recent hostilities on this word. Put simply, they are insurance claims for damages to local infrastructure and costs related to the reconstruction of that world. The full forms are available on this pad.
He holds the pad out to no one in particular.

A booming laugh errupts from my throat and proceeds to continue onto hysteria for a good 30 seconds. I just couldn't help myself, this was too dang funny. The Jedi grandmaster being sued for damages, and by a mandalorian no less. God, I picked a great day to visit Felucia. There was no way I was letting the younger man forget his one. Ignoring the datapad being held out I pull my flask out of my belt and offer it toward the mandalorian, still barely containing hysterical laughter. Drink?

Kebiin would laugh at the joke too, if he weren't unfortunately a part of it. This was possibly the most ridiculous job he'd ever been contracted for but it came from a reliable employer that he wanted to maintain a good relationship with.
Not while I'm on payroll, thank you. Afterwards though, I think I am due for several.

I take a long swig from the flask before pivoting and offering it to Aer. Fair, I think there is going to be a call for quite a bit of drinking after this is done. I can't help but chuckle some more as I turn my attention back to Aer for his reaction to this whole ridiculous situation. It would be unfortunate if anything happened to ruin such a fine day.

*Aerandir's only response was to scowl at the Courier's delivery. He glanced past him to Bix, who only shrugged with a hint of exasperation. As Frantz laughed—perhaps rightfully so, though Aerandir was too close to the situation to appreciate the humor—he only took the datapad and skimmed over it, waving away the offered flask; not even the current situation made him inclined to drink.
It seemed the information only called for "donations," though perhaps it was a way of lightening the threat of some sort of legal action. It also detailed the current political climate and reformation efforts currently underway. With not a single mention of Galactic Alliance involvement.* "I see not a soul followed up on my endeavor there," *he murmured before sighing and looking up at the Mandalorian.* "This is... embarrassing, to put it bluntly. I will arrange for an AgriCorps contingent to join the relief efforts at Caamas as well as speak with the Galactic Alliance to provide further assistance, whether personnel or funds."
"If you ask me," *said Bix,* "the First Order should be the ones paying for all of it."
*Aerandir waved him down.* "Best not to make too much of a scene of things. We have nothing to lose, and besides, they at least heeded my warning and turned over planetary control back to the local government. I don't think they'll want to deal with me again." *He returned his attention to the datapad and gave it another look over before finally signing the document and returning the datapad.* "Will there be anything else?"

*Almost immediately after asking, pinpricks at the edge of his senses caused his eyebrow to twitch, flecks of darkness. Soon after the evil energy grew, even as the light outside the Council Chambers suddenly began to fade. He didn't even look out the window as he felt the unnatural storm grow overhead, Felucia herself seeming to fight in vain against it.* "I'm afraid if there is," *he said to the Mandalorian,* "you'll have to ask me later." *Turning to the other Masters present, he said,* "We've got company. Get to a defensible position. I'll alert the rest of the Base and make contact with Admiral Beron immediately." *Looking back to the Mandalorian, he added,* "You might want to get as far away from here as possible, that is, unless you're interested in a bonus."
*The worst possible time to attempt to strike a deal with a Mandalorian, he knew, but the courier could take it or leave it.
Meanwhile, he lowered his head and closed his eyes, reaching out with his senses throughout the Jedi Base. Seeking all those of high importance, he mentally alerted them to the presence of the enemy and to stand by for updates on the situation. From there, they would take care of the rest, making more official announcements, locking down what areas they could, spreading out to defend their designated zones, and, most importantly, getting the younglings to safety.
As this carried on, he grabbed his datapad and attempted to make contact with the fleet in orbit.*

My under the breath chuckling came to an abrupt end as something wrong passed through my extra senses. A vast amount of dark energy was being gathered into a storm. Just as the realization of what it was struck so did the first peels of thunder and wind, rattling the windows of the council chamber. This wasn't going to be good. I had begun moving half a heartbeat before Aerandir had suggested finding a defensible location. Making my way out of the chambers I Realize I have no idea where anything that needed defended would be, or even where anything was in this blasted maze of a base for that matter. I begin to move down the hallway in a random location when a comm call from my former apprentice gives me an idea. Reaching out to his familiar presence I begin making my way toward him, drawing in just a little energy from the force to speed my steps. It was going to be a long day, and I didn't want to draw too much too quickly.

As if being in a trance for weeks, Will's consciousness was pulled to the far reaches of space, into the hyperspace corridors and felt the darkness coming. Will's consciousness was catapulted into the future as well. The First Order blazes fire through the galaxy. Small pockets of resistance. An empty Senate chamber. Meetings in the warehouse.
Darkness has come for all of them.
The time is now.
Will is snapped back into reality by the Grandmaster's comm announcements and they all take off to defensible positions.
Will strips the outer robe of the Jedi Master, and tosses recklessly on the Jedi Council floor.
He takes off to defend his friends from what may come.
