His right saber blinked out of existence, passing through the Jedi's guarding saber, and reignited. It was a simple TrĂ kata move, but one that always came in handy. Jud wondered why the practice of TrĂ kata had been lost, as he batted the Jedi's saber away from her body, and thrust his blade's tip towards her heart. The cloaked attacker's strong blow drives the blade of my lightsaber to the side. Realizing I'm vulnerable, I move with it, twisting away and downward. As quick as I am, I still feel the sting as his blade grazes my left shoulder. From my crouch, I vault backward again before he can recover from his missed thrust and bring my lightsaber back up into a defensive position. It's all I can do to resist engaging him; I must find Plagueis' research for the Jedi and for my sister, and it's worth destroying anyone who stands in my way. But I've spilled enough blood these last few weeks, and he deserves a chance."Walk away, stranger," I say fiercely. "We won't be stopped, and if you fight us both, you'll die. Walk away."

-Hesper Calix stood in the shadow of the rafters with Tantin. She could hear the unmistakable sound of lightsabers being ignited. Hesper looked down at Tantin, but remained calm.-
"It appears that the situation has escalated." She said as she looked down at Tantin.
For the first time, she felt conflicted. Should she leave him here and engage? No, this wasn't a sight for his youngling eyes.

In a situation as dangerous and deadly as the one unfolding in the Jedi Temple, Tantin did one of the only things he could do; he looked towards the nearest adult with worried eyes, hoping for instruction and guidance.
"Wh-what do we do, Master Calix? We can't just leave them to fend for themselves..it's not right."
While Tantin did not know the first thing about armed combat, he had a strong sense of helping others. It came from growing up in a village where everyone helped one another. Kushiban were close-knit families, and their villages were just as close-knit. Helping others was second nature to him.

It was sudden and there was no stopping it. It felt like he was smashed in the chest with a powersledge, and he flew just as far. Hitting a row of shelves old scrolls, books and a few datapads fell around and on him. Seeing stars he tried to get his breath but found it momentarily impossible to breath. Raising his eyebrows he tried to shake it off as the Sith attacked the Jedi he was with. After a second though he stood and shot his own hand out as his blade flew into it. The familiar SNAP HISS of his silver blade could be heard, the curved blade crackling to life. He is a Sith, do you really think your words will stop him?
Honestly he didnt even know why he had tried himself, maybe just to bide time. However that was now a thing of the past, there was only one thing to do and that was attack and hope that the superior numbers would stop this man. Stepping forward twice he swung the lightsaber from left to right in a bid to bisect the Sith. His irritation evident from the breath he exhaled. How could this one Sith get inside a Jedi conclave and not be notice, and how had he gotten so careless as to let him get this close.

Jud cackled in response to the woman's bravado, as he sauntered towards her. The lizard was still barely moving, what else was there to do? He had already wounded her, and it didn't seem that there was much of training to this one's form anyway. Close the gap. Strike, and exit. Simple...It was sudden and there was no stopping it. "Now, that is a stroke of genius there..." Jud said whimsically with a nod of his hooded head. "The first intelligent thing actually to be uttered. funny it took so long." Jud finished, dropping down abruptly to the floor. His skeletal left hand slamming into the ground with the concussive clap of thunder, causing the masonry of the archives to buckle and shard into sharp projectiles of stone outwards from his position in a 360* ripple from where he stood adjacent to the lizard and woman.
The Force wave would attract unwanted attention, but in the time it took anyone in the base to get here, his work would be done. Jud leapt forward towards the woman, following the shards of pumiced stone as a barrier. His right saber remained low, towards the Jedi's midsection, before Jud redrew his left saber to his left hand, and in a wide slash form right to left, ignited the blade at the woman's neck level.
If she dodged this, he'd be more than impressed, but if not then he'd just have to worry about the lizard in front of his exit.

As I twist and slash to avoid the projectiles, I see the Sith swing his unignited saber. Not about to fall for that trick again, I bring my own up and bash his blade away the second it ignites, dropping to one knee to brace myself against the ground. That blow parried, I bring my lightsaber down in an arc toward his right wrist. Not quickly enough. The thrust originally aimed at my midsection catches me square in the chest. Reacting instinctively, I unleash a Force push so powerful it sends us both flying in opposite directions, scattering the stone shards.
I land some six meters away and try to get to my feet, but can't. I shut my eyes and turn my mind inward on the wound, but I can tell immediately it's too grave. Knowing I only have a few moments, I open my eyes to take one last look at my surroundings. While I'd like to have seen the sky one more time, I suppose there are worse places to die than here, surrounded by years of Jedi knowledge. From here, I can see the entrance, and the boots of the Jedi responding to the commotion, charging toward the Sith with their lightsabers drawn. But too late for me. Everything's fading, but I'm aware of someone kneeling over me...Giannah, the Zabrak padawan who met me when I arrived.
"There's an old Sith outpost..." I whisper to her with effort "...near the Ancient Abyss. Some research...might still be there. Find it...destroy it, or claim it for the Order." When she doesn't move, I add, "Go!" and she sprints off the way she came.
I close my eyes again and the sounds of battle fade into the background. My final thoughts are of my sister, who has gone before me and with whom I'm about to be reunited. There's only peace now, and I die with the trace of a smile on my face.

He was moments away from attacking when the second concussive blast hit him. This one infinitely more powerful than the first sent him back again. This time though he was in much worse shape. Blood leaked from his ears and nose. His armour had protected his insides from any of the sharp stones. His face wasn't so lucky as a gash of crimson as deep as his armour poured from his left cheek. Trying to get up the Imperial Knight failed to do so. His ears rang as the world twisted and turned around him, for some reason that eluded him he saw the sky unaware the roof had a hole in it.
Sitting up Panno stared down Jud, narrowing his lizard like gave he remembered the face that he would hunt to the ends of the galaxy. Holy war or not, destroy such a place of tranquility for the search of knowledge was wrong. His hands supporting him he spoke the words sounding oddly muffled in his throat. You are a dead man. Even as he spoke he felt the Jedis life fade, and regret filled him. He should have been able to help her, she should not have died. He did not even know her and yet for some reason her death affected him like no other had before today. Something inside the Imperial he had long thought dead had resurfaced. Something he wished had remained gone.

Jud watched as the young woman fell to his feint with little emotion on his veiled face. He wasn't exactly happy he had to kill her, but he wasn't necessarily broken up about taking her life. It was the knifes edge that he'd balanced on since the old days, since his ascension, and he wasn't about to change that. Not even for the life of a simple and foolish woman.
Jud's sabers retracted as the Jedi fell to the archive's floor, and he watched her for a moment, as her life ebbed away. The weight of his actions sinking in slightly as his face turned from a calculated sneer to a deep emotional scowl. "You foolish child..." He choked out. The image of Sylvis flashing through his mind and transposing her lifeless visage on the woman before him.
He was about to go over to the corpse, to apologize again, when the sound of heavy foot-falls was heard coming from outside the archives. Jud turned to see that the lizard had gotten top his feet... well more or less so. Jud shook his head. "Why?" He asked plainly, raising his hands in a "Why" fashion. "One is already dead, an unneeded death..." He added as he continued forward towards Panno and the exit to the base beyond. "I would hate to have to make it two." Jud finished, seeing that the lizard was peering straight into his veiled face. The hate and rage bubbling in his slitted irises. "Forget this fool's errand and let me pass." Jud said with a pardoning wave of his hand. "And you can live to avenge another time." Jud stopped his advance a couple meters from Panno. "You are injured. Let me pass. There's no need for another senseless end, none at all." The Sith pleaded, and he was pleading.

Aost as soon as it had appeared his rage and anger disappeared. Replaced with grief and remorse. Despite having just met the Jedi he had felt a connection with her. Looking over towards her body then back to Jud tears welled in his eyes. Through frustration, pain or anger it didn't matter. They had shown themselves and his weakness and in his grief the words struck hard and fast.
The Siths words rang in his ears and Panno was visibly torn. Part of him wanted to stand, to fight; he assumed that even should he fall that he would ensure this Sith would be trapped by so many Jedi they would overwhelm him. The other part, the primal animalistic part though edged him towards survival, which at face value appeared to be within reach. Closing his eyes Panno stepped back with his left foot opening a path to the entrance. I can't stop you if I wanted.
This was not a retreat, nor was it giving up. Currently he was outclassed and would fall surely. However he assumed he knew where this bankers Sith would go. Although the Dressillian was loath to admit it Jud was right. There had been enough senseless killing for now. Leaning back Panno dropped to the ground his head hung low in defeat. Go, but I will find you and we can do more than talk. Even as he spoke though he kept his muddled senses as sharp as he could, this was after all a Sith. It would be a miracle if he kept his words and left without further bloodshed.

Jud watched as the slightly battered Knight stepped aside and bowed in humbled conceit before him. The act in itself made the Old Sith pause, or maybe it was admiration. He hadn't anticipated the lizard to listen. In all actuality Jud had expected the Knight to commit to his earlier threat, but this serendipitous situation garnered a rare emotion out of the Sith.
Respect...
"It is the wise that know when to be humble..." Jud said, bowing to the Knight before walking towards the exit of the Archives. The sound of sirens started and shouts of others grew ever nearer. "And it is the humble that eventually inherit everything. So, do not be disheartened..." Jud ended as he walked past the Lizard knelling to the floor. Jud's hooded head turned one last time to the Knight. The single pin-prick of his ruby red eye glinting in the dark veil over his smiling face. "Now, that's the spirit."
Without another word Jud stepped out into the Base's corridor seeing Jedi advancing on him from every conceivable direction. Their sabers lit and ready to exact justice for the Order. "Brave, but foolish..." He hissed, continuing his leisurely stroll towards the gated entrance; despite the onrush of Jedi.
The first two charging Jedi must have been close by, because they were meters in front of their brethren. Their charge was ill advised, but they came on anyways. Jud continued his stroll, as the first attacks were coordinated at his defenseless body. One of the Jedi had jumped up high, drawing their saber high above their head in an exaggerated way (Falling Leaf). That could eventually become a hammer blow to the Sith's head. The other had come straight in, stepping to Jud's right as he forcefully swung his saber double handed at the Sith's midsection (Sai tok).
Jud smirked at the exaggerated power-styles these two dead men were using as his sabers leapt to his hands. With a half step back, Jud slid his right side away from the devastating slash for his midsection, and in the same movement brought his right hand and saber down and around with the slide. His saber hitting the Jedi's strike away further, not allowing the Jedi to retort or defend himself. Jud savored the wide-eyed look of panic on the Jedi's face, as he realized his strike and momentum wouldn't allow him to react in time. With a flick of his wrist, Jud's saber swung down, taking the Jedi's hands clean off before redirecting and taking out the man's leading leg. The amputated Jedi fell to the stone floor howling in pain, as his comrade let out a defiant roar in protest.
The emerald green saber came down along with it's Jedi owner in a thunderous crackle of saber against saber. meeting with both of Jud's amber orange blades. Jud had used his sabers to make an X high above his head, as he hunkered down towards the floor. His back leg bracing him as the power strike hit. With the Jedi's momentum spent, and his feet still not on the ground, Jud pushed off his feet, uncoiling like a string. His saber's pushing forward and causing the Jedi to sift mid-landing, allowing his sabers room to work. As the Jedi fell backwards both of Jud's sabers uncrossed and looped around in a curt arch, only to intersect again at the Jedi's vulnerable lower half. The Jedi's feet eventually touched the ground... before the rest of him managed to.
At the ghastly sight of dismembering their friends, the other Jedi halted in their hasty advance and took up defensively guarded saber positions mere meters away from Jud.
Jud leered at them from behind his hood, measuring them with a cursory glance like that of a hunter. He disengaged his sabers, but they remained in his skeletal hands, their emitters towards the floor. "Let me pass..." He finally said in a booming voice. "Let me through, or I'll continue this slaughter." He continued with a slight smile of amusement, which they couldn't see. "And I assure you... It will be." The Sith finished, surrounded and cut off form his exit yet again.

Panno had heard the howling of the man who was missing his leg, and then a second clash with muffled falling. He had already guessed what had happened and part of him wished to remain here. Out of sight, out of mind. He couldn't do that however; he wouldn't let anyone else die because of him. Pushing himself up with a grunt he inhaled through his nose the smell of burned skin and hair stinking up everything. Lesser men would have gagged but it was an all to familiar smell for a man who worked in a forge a lot. Limping forward he tried to stop the fight before it began.
The Jedi at the mean time spread out around him a dozen in total their shimmering green and blue blades humming. All of them expecting a conflict they held their place not wanting to fight. A dozen against one was hardly fair odds but this was obviously a skilled Sith to have infiltrated the base and already taken out three Jedi. As such the center one, a Kel Dor spoke slowly. Surrunder your weapon or we will be forced to take it from you. It was a hope against hope that this would work but they were not savages. No the offer of surrender would have been given even to their bitterest of rivals.

Jud leered with predatory cunning from under his hood. His single ruddy eye the only feature to discern where he was looking. Jud was in a dilly of a pickle, his mission to the haphazard planet was supposed to be an "in and out" deal, not a full out roue with the Jedi. "So much for subterfuge..." The Sith mused to himself, chuckling at the failure of it all. One tiny pebble could divert a river, he thought. The proverbs of his youth ringing in his mind as he smirked at the Kel Dorian, and his kind proposal.
Jud was silent, along with his Jedi captors. The moments ticked by slowly, and even the amassed Jedi presence seemed to hold their collective breath for the Sith's response. "Surrendering..." Jud said finally. "Is such an ugly word, is it not?" He inclined his hooded head to one side, before continuing. "Parley, now that's a better word for this situation."
The Kel Dor's eyes narrowed, his ire rising slightly at the air of superiority coming from the Darksider before him. He took a deep breath, easing his mind back to a diplomatic state of being, before answering the Sith's proposal. "And what exactly would you suggest for terms, Darkling?" He said evenly.
Jud laughed at the "Darkling" comment before answering. "I've already killed two of your comrades, and maimed another." He started, using the days evens so far to aid in his bargaining. "And though you out number me..." Jud continued with a knowing shake of his head. "That isn't exactly an assurance that you'll overpower me, or outclass me."
"Get to it, Sith." The Jedi stated in an unamused tone.
"Very well." Jud said with a shrug. "I'll surrender, but only if your best duelist can best me in single combat." The Sith smirked under his veil. "I'll even go so far as to fight without aid of the Force, and a single blade. Here..." Jud tossed one of his prized sabers towards the Kel Dorian, who caught the emitter in his hand. "Be careful with that, Jedi. It is my life, my pride. It's more precious to me than the lives of your men." Jud said sternly, pointing a skeletal finger towards his "good will" offering to the Jedi. "In other words... don't you dare lose it." Jud's voice was no more than a feral growl, his resolve on the matter of his saber absolute. "These are my terms. If you don't like them, then you already have one of my sabers. You decide the outcome, Jedi... and the continual survival of your men." He finished, crossing his arms.

Before they could decide Panno rounded the corner of the bookshelfs battered and limping but moving with some speed. Wiping his hand over the blood flowing from his face Panno reached over to lean on the shelf his hand print smearing the chestnut coloured wood. Breathing heavily he looked at the proceedings as the Jedi looked amoungst themselves. Despite having spent most of his days in a forge he could size up the Jedi pretty well. None would be able to stand against Jud for along on his own, together they could do it but knowing their morals they would decide and were probably doing so telepathically.
Butting in he stepped forward and despite rocking to the left and the right for a moment he raised his head and looked proud Dont waste your time and your lives let the Sithling past. At the use of the word Sithling he regretted it; this was more than a common darksider there was something old about this one. Ancient and evil. Dont be so Borsk (Proud)... please His words were almost pleading as they left his mouth and his face showed it. Enought blood was spilled today.
For a moment the attention of the Jedi was drawn to the Imperial Knight and they lowered their blades almost as if they were going to listen to the injured man. One did step forward though and swished his cyan blade in the Makashii salute. Im sorry Dresselian but we cant let this man leave for what he has done. Turning his attention back to Jud he waited for the Sith to make the first move.

Jud looked back over his right shoulder towards the Knight, who was still obviously worse for the wear. He genuinely felt bad that he had devastated the archive, and left this man in such a state. It wasn't supposed to go this way, but they'd found what he was looking for before his arrival. He'd thought the knowledge his and his alone. Obviously it wasn't, it had been leaked, or somehow that woman had been studying the same as Jud. He gave the notion a shake of the head. It was preposterous, or was it? the evidence was back in the archives; with the corpse left on the floor. Others had known, and now there would be even more trouble in obtaining his means.
Jud was about to thank the Knight for telling his brethren to let him pass when a voice came from before him. Panno could hear Jud let out a long sigh. "Remember what I said in the archives..." Jud said to the knight as he turned to face the saluting Jedi. "Only the wise, only the wise..."
"Ah, a Makashi man, excellent." Jud said with mirthful vigor. "It has been a very long time since I've met a practitioner of the old arts among the Jedi." He continued as he unclasped the broach at the nape of his neck. Jud's dark cloak fell to the floor, and he stepped out from it, revealing his corpse-like visage to the amassed Jedi. He grinned before igniting his remaining saber in his left hand, giving the Jedi a returned Makashi salute. "I do hope you've been studying... I'm not a novice."
The word "novice" hadn't even entirely left Jud's lips before he was on the move. He went straight in, jabbing towards the Jedi's solar plexus with the tip of his amber orange blade. To the untrained, it would look like he'd lost his faculties, coming in directly and with a jab, but it was anything but the mistake of a boaster. It was a feint, a ploy, and if the Jedi took the bait... this would be done sooner than later.

In his addled mind Panno argued with himself at Juds words. About the wise. The Jedi were thought to be the protects of the galaxy, the Bromberg of peace and justice. Were they really wise though? At one time they outnumbered the Sith several thousand to one. Now to there actions more and more darksiders kept popping up while the Jedi are beaten back. Their planets always attacked by the biggest kid on the block. Dark Tide on Hronger. Mandos on Yavin. They picked the fights that were right, but they were dumb and pointless. Like this one now. Maybe they should just look out for themsleves and no one else.
As he watched he hung his head defeated. The Jedi went to block the lunge and Panno knew this was a mistake. He had seen this Sith fight where the Jedi had not. Trakata, hiding in the force. This man was all about under handed tricks and doing the unexpected. He held his peace though, as much as he despised the Sith right now the Jwdi had sealed his own fate. Typical human bravado and Jedi false pride would be his undoing.

As soon as the Jedi's saber was about to parry the inward thrust, Jud's saber blinked out. The Jedi's block passed through, his momentum carrying his saber down with the telegraphed motion, in the anticipation of striking saber to saber.
The Jedi could have retorted quite easily enough, but as the Sith expected the Jedi was but a novice in the form. The thought of which seemed to sour Jud's mood further, he had still to meet a Jedi to match blades with him, and with a sigh Jud knew it would possibly not come to pass. The old ways had been lost, the form's had been watered down, and his former Order was more of a hollow shell then him.
Jud's saber reignited immediately as he stepped in further towards the Jedi. His wrist turned sharpy clockwise, bringing his blade down onto the meat of the Jedi's saber hand before changing directions and singing the same arm with a clean jab through the shoulder.
The Jedi fell to the ground clutching his scored yet intact arm. Jud stood above him, looming, his single eye gleaming as he studied the prone Jedi. "You have much to learn..." He said sternly, with the disappointment of a beloved teacher. "So, I leave you your arm and your life. To pursue that endeavor." Jud finished with a nod, as he walked back towards his cloak. He clasped his saber onto his belt and gathered up his shroud, dawning it like the mantle of a king, before looking to the Kel Dorian Jedi again. "My saber, if you please... Jedi." Jud said softly as his skeletal hand reached out, fingers open and palm up to reclaim his property.
The Kel Dorian was quiet and unmoving for a moment. Maybe he was in shock, or maybe he was weighing his options? Could he just allow this man to go, to walk out of this place - their home - after all of this? Could he renege his offer to the Sith, and double cross the double crosser? Could he live with more Jedi deaths on his hands? Could he even bring himself to stoop so low as to cheat? The battle being waged in the Jedi's mind was only stopped when he saw the cool grin from underneath the hood before him. It was a smile that told him that every possible option had been weighed, calculated and hypothesized, and that the Sith was only waiting for a path to be chosen. It was almost as if the Sith had no qualms with having to continue his wanton slaughter, and the mere thought of that sent a cold chill up the Kel Dor's spine.
"Take it..." The Jedi finally answered, producing the hilt form within his robes and holding it out towards, Jud. "And know this affair is far from over, Sith." He continued, his manner swinging dangerously close to anger. "Now, begone."
Jud's hand stretched out and his saber fluttered form the Jedi and into his palm. Jud closed his eyes as the touch of his saber calmed him. "Ah, many thanks..." He sighed before walking past the remaining Jedi towards the main gates. "And I look forward to the time when we meet again." Was the last thing Jud imparted before strolling off into the distance.

With Jud out of the room only now did all the aches and pains catch up to him. Some had been blocked by larger damage while the rest just he didn't feel. The body in a state of shock, now though with the adrenaline wearing off the Dresselian fell to the ground unable to stand anymore. The Jedi fast as can be then sprang into action. Two ran to his side and looked him over before getting on their comms. We need a medical team to the Archives now and tell them to be watch their backs a Sith is in the building.
Meanwhile In the deep recesses of his mind Panno stood in an empty room made of white, and it appeared to have no end in sight. Part of his brain knew this wasn't real; it was just his body protecting his mind from pain but it was small and overshadowed by something much larger. Fear. Beginning to walk he heard a muffled sound, turning he saw the very woman who had just died only different. The original was pretty but this Jedi was beautiful the same way a dangerous animal is. All her features now sharp and angular, the woman opened her mouth and screamed. A dark void forming where her mouth was moments before sucking Panno inside the ever growing hole.
After falling for what felt like ages he landed hard on the ground. He did not know how he was still alive but in a moment he would wish the fall had killed him. As the stars disappeared from his eyes he was in a bog, the smell of decay permeated the air and evil noises shifted just outside eyesight in the fog. That's when she appeared again, this time her features that of a woman who had been dead for some time. He skin was gray and clammy, a few strands of hair still in the scalp and her clothing torn, falling and sagging as her muscle was eaten away by time. The only thing different where her nails, or more accurately talons. Her digits were covered in black seven inch long metallic "nails". Thumbing the activator on his lightsaber Panno tried to stand but his movements where sluggish at best.
The same could not be said for the wraith as she sprung forward her speed unexpected from the shape of the body. Almost as if she wa a wind the woman kicked out at Pannos face lifting him off the ground so that he was standing once more. Look at what you did to me! This is all your fault, you could have stopped that Sith but instead you let him kill me. Rushing forward her image wavered like the mist, and struck at Panno her nails doing nothing as she had become the mist. For a second he thought it was over, before he felt the needle like talons enter under each armpit. Lifting him into the air he tried to swing at her but it was no use, everytime he hit her it was like hitting a fog.
Of course none of this was actually happening. The medical team had arrived and after assessing the damage had picked him up and filled him with Bacta from a syringe to heal whatever internal damage their might be. This was just his body reacting to external stimuli while remaining in his comatose state. As he was wheeled away the Jedi who had sparred with Jud was amoung the people walking with him.

By the time I return to the Archives, the dead have all been cleared away, and droids are already attempting to repair the damage. "What happened to the ones who...well, the ones who fell?" I ask one of my fellow Padawans, who's overseeing the repairs. A sympathetic look in his eyes, he points me to the Medical Facilities, where a makeshift morgue has been set up.

*After a good, quick shower, Morgan had put on something more casual and gathered up her materials and bag before coming to the archives. Homework... what a drag. But at least Serena would be here as well, and they could do it together, making it far less boring. Maybe. She headed to a vacant terminal, making sure one was still available beside her, and took a seat, setting her bag on the table and pulling out her datapad, reviewing the materials and her assignments so she knew what materials to research while she waited for Serena to show up.*

Serena had showered and put on some clean clothes before gathering her things and heading for the archives. Upon entering, she quickly located Morgan and made her way over, her lessons to be completed all stuffed in her bag slung over her shoulder. Sighing, she sat down next to Morgan."I hate homework..."
