-Vic- :: For now the spice we have is awaiting transport off planet. The bulk of my activities are frozen until this clears up to avoid the seizure of these facilities. I have been in contact with Avidus. It would seem that the Iron Fists are returning. But yes, I will not be letting the spice get confiscated. There have been so far no attempts to take the facility but if it comes to a fight, I will have to abandon it.::

The somewhat regal looking woman gave him a look that made it quite clear that he should stop using his own supply.
-Aya We are already aware of that. But they have yet to move against us so there is no point yet in acting. Additionally, We have yet to establish a deal with yourself in this matter, so unless you decide to act in that regard, we will have little reason to act against the new government.

Exchequer looked over and then did another hit.
Vic, I will make sure that the spice isn't confiscated. I am sure, it won't come to this.
He looked over at Aya
Aya, is there anything else, we need to talk about? I am looking into moving around Mos Entha to solidify a few loose ends on the planet.
He then smiled. He got up and went over to the holoprojector and had it switch to a map of the planet. He looked over it and then planned several drop sites for the drugs.

The regal looking woman nods.
-Aya Yes, Geonosis was lost for several reasons. Central MMC operations are being relocated to the corporate sector & the surround regions of space. We do not expect any major opposition due to previous actions taken there, but control is still being established.

Exchequer's eyes shifted to his pile and spice and back to Aya. The words started to sink in.
You said you lost Geonosis? How then, shall we run an illegal gladiatorial events? This severely limits our activities.
Exchequer looked at Vic
Vic, consider straight runs from Kessel your new source of spice. I will now allow straight runs to Tatooine.
He moved to an enforcer near the door and said to him.
Inform Kessel to begin shipments to Tatooine in disguise of normal freight and trade travel. Land in Mos Eisley and begin ground transport of spices to locations.
The enforcer obliges and quickly spreads word to a higher enforcer and soon Kessel would be informed.
Ex turned his attention towards Aya.
Now, when can we take Geonosis back?

The woman shrugs, as if the topic was boring but necessary.
-Aya There are currently no plans in the works for retaking the region. It is currently extremely hostile to all outsiders & attempting to retake it would unnecessarily strain the resources of even the admiral. Perhaps once our hold on the Corporate Sector is solidified, we will move to retake it. Until then, there are several arenas of some prominence located there.

Exchequer sighed and nodded.
Very well then, also Aya, I will need you to secure me a contingent of 5 slightly well-armed TC-SC infiltration droids. They will of course be used to impersonate me in meetings with low to mid tier level enforcers and agents of the Exchange as well in business dealings with others. I am sure, you can do that? I ask you because well you are a company and may easily know where to get them or come across them?
Exchequer had a plan to put out a public face of the Exchange that was entirely too chaotic to be verified. It would allow him to stay faceless and a shadow in the darkness. Of course this is what he wanted, to be the nameless shadow that brings about fear. And, soon with the TC-SC infiltration droids he would come one step closer.

It wouldn't be difficult to get that few of the droids. If he wanted them armed though, he would have hand them a blaster or get a droidsmith to modify them. The order had already been sent & a suitable target had already been located before he finished speaking. Within two hours, a fireteam of Operatives would be paying a visit to an unsuspecting droid collector. Nothing would be left behind.
-Aya Done, they should be he within a day or two. You will have to make any modifications you want yourself.
Aya didn't really care if he had droids that could look like nearly anything, the security suite installed on all MMC stations would still see right through the holograms. She loved always being 2 meters ahead of her allies & 2 meters above her foes.

Exchequer smiled.
Perfect. I do not think there is anything else on the agenda, though there is one to pay a trip to a bar keep in Mos Eisley. Unless, you have anything to bring up, you are welcomed to tag along or to go with me. Though, I think it would be better to test out the droids and see if they work.
Exchequer looked over his datareports of spice coming in. Then he smiled.
There is one more thing, we need your help in getting into core and deep core worlds. I see a business opportunity in them. I have already sent a mid-level enforcer to Coruscant to meet up with another. We can of course power play the core and deep core to tip the balances of power in the Cartel's favor, of course.
A top lieutenant came in and informed Exchequer that he was supposed to meet with a lieutenant over a package. He quickly left in mid conversation with Aya. Hopefully she wouldn't mind his sudden departure. Of course he would always come back to the room. He trusted this room the most while there were still non-top officials in the more open parts of the Estate.

Vee glanced at Ex's security detail and, indeed, they had their weapons drawn at her. She stubbornly store her slugs back into her sleeves, clenching her teeth.
"I don't give a womprat's ass, Exchequer." she muttered at him as she brushed past him and into the room. Vee needed that cargo, and as she was sure that he wouldn't harm her despite all the disagreements that led to their breakup, she would cooperate in order to ensure she got that cargo and didn't lose her job. "And for the record, you left me. You left the mando'ade to become dar'manda." She didn't try to keep the distain out of her tone. "So just give me the damn shipment and let me leave."

Exchequer's voice raised in typical druggy fashion as he sighed and snorted a quick line off of the table.
I left you because you loved another man and I could see it. And, I didn't leave you to become dar'manda, I wanted to survive. And, somehow my acts are less than honorable. But, when your whole clan deserts you, its hard to survive. You have to do what you have to do. I am labeled dar'manda but my actions still have that hint of Mando'a.
He sighed.
You will have to wait for your damn cargo.
He approached her. You wouldn't have followed me anyways, your heart still yearns for another.

Vee could feel her temper rise. "Survive? Are you kidding me? We were surviving just fine on Basilisk, weren't we?" She didn't mean to yell. She might have been able to keep her temper if he wasn't using right in front of her. As he came closer, she suddenly recognized all too well the look in his eye. It might have been barely noticeable to someone else, but Vee had dealt with it before. He was drugged, even before he took the hit. Exchequer was a handsome man, but the drugs made her shudder in disgust.
"The truth is, Ex, that you wanted to leave. You left not just me, but the mando'ade. You'd rather live as dar'manda with a life of crime. You could do anything to make money, but no, you choose this. Don't you dare say I didn't love you because of Taung. Don't. You. Dare. You know why we didn't work...you know because the reason is in your face every second of every day of your miserable life!" Her eyes spit blue-green fire at him. "I wanted a husband! I wanted children! I wanted a profession where I could work honorably with my partner with our people! You think I want that with an addict dar'manda? She crossed her arms, still glaring at him. "But you've heard this all before, haven't you Ex? And yet, you don't understand any more now than you did before." She lifted her chin as she narrowed her eyes at him. "I wish Taung was alive. He was a real man, a real mando'ad." she gloaded. "That's what really bothers you, isn't it? It's not that you think I loved him more than you, it's that you're jealous because you'll never measure up to half the man he was. And you don't even try."
Even as she said this, her heart broke a little. She thought she had moved past Ex, but the truth was, she still loved him. Still believed in him. He had been so different when they met on Basilisk. A real mando'ad. It truly hurt to see him like this now.

Ex's drugged out and blazed eyes fired right back at her.
If you call, living on some war torn planet making it. I couldn't adorn you in what every woman deserved.
His eyes though turned to pain as the last of her words hit him. He was not known for showing emotions but this time they cut.
Do you take me as stupid? Every time we embraced, I could feel you yearn for Taung. You might not have done it, but your heart gave you away with those eyes of yours. The pain that you caused drove me to these drugs, the hurt that you caused because you did loved another. And, you know it.
He approached her closely as he got in her face. But for some kind of degenerate, I am pretty well off. I have diamonds, credits, the works. But, it still cannot replace the void that you gave me when we embraced. You didn't want a new husband, you wanted Taung.
He strongly emphasized the following. I am more than he ever was, where is he now? Is he here? You wanted me to be Taung so much. But, damn it woman, I am not Taung.
His eyes brought forth a small tear as he hated this conversation.

"No," she said flatly, "You're not Taung. Taung would never do what you're doing now." She stared defiantly in his face. "The only person who keeps bringing up Taung is you. You can't use me or Taung as excuses for your miserable lifestyle. And for the record, I never wanted to be rich. I never asked anything of you than to not betray the mando'ade. Apparently that was the one thing you couldn't give me."
She backed away from him. "So stop. Stop blaming me and my dead husband for your own bad choices. Neither is true. You left because you wanted to live your life however you saw fit. You couldn't handle a real relationship. If I'm so despicable to you, if you really believe that I couldn't get past Taung, then just give me my cargo and I'll be out of your hair. Problem solved."

He stepped closer grasping both her arms. You're right, its all my fault. But, you still love him, I know you do. You want to know why I always knew, you went to Mandalore even when I asked you if you wanted to come with me. You went with his family, you didn't follow me. But, its not as bad as they seem, I am on the top of the food chain right now. I can make planets bow before me as I influence markets and politics. He fought back what he had been hiding.
I miss you Vee, I need you. Everyday, that I am not with you, I sink more and more into these drugs. I need you Vee, to come back and tell me with a honest face of rather you still love Taung or if you really loved me.
His eyes pleaded with her.
I know you still love him and I am sorry that I can't be him. And, I feel like I let you down. But, I want to make it up to you. Stay at least a week or so, please. If you really love me like you say you do, you will. And, maybe you will see that I am not so bad after all.

Vee pulled away from his embrace. No, Exchequer, I didn't go with you because I didn't want to become dar'manda! You know that. Better to go to Mandalore and find honest work with our people. Don't spin this around and say it was because I didn't love you. And if you expect me just to stop loving my husband just because he died, you're out of your mind. Of course I still love Taung. Part of me always will, no matter how briefly we were together. That doesn't mean I can't move on. I did move on. With you. But you turned out to be a jealous, drug addicted SOB who couldn't adjust to honest work. I love you Exchequer, but I won't live like this. And I can't be a replacement for your drugs. She crossed her arms, glaring at him, refusing to give into his excuses. Now where is my cargo?

Exchequer grew more emotional either from the drugs or from the situation.
Yeah honest work when the leader of my clan goes off to god knows where? Yeah, try making it that easy. And, these drugs are my ticket to power, to pure power. Reconsider it, where will you go, the Mandolorians are probably on a holy war if that Ashrah took power. Where will you go now when he has led them down a path of no return? And, according to my intelligence, he is on a holy war right at the moment.
He paused.
You probably won't like your cargo. You, see, I have many contacts in many fronts that I use to get these narcotics around. But, they're not all bad. Sometimes, I get contacted by medical doctors who cannot afford to get it through legal channels. So, I provide them with the highest grade at the lowest price.
He paused. But, will you not stay for a while and talk. We can catch up. I'll pay you double of what your company pays you. Please, at least, give me that much. Then you can leave me, to go down my spiral and my rise to fame and power. But, I do ask of you one thing, do not reveal who is behind the drugs or that I am alive. I must stay in the shadows. He took her hand. But, please stay my dear.

Four completely nondescript officers stepped in the room, followed by a hover-cart loaded with five coffin like crates. The uniforms they worn were completely without insignia & could have come from any one of thousands of militaries active across the galaxy. Glancing at a datapad, one of the officers spoke to Exchequer. His accent was muted to the point that it couldn't be placed any closer than somewhere in the core.
-Officer These are the items you requested. Delivery has been confirmed. Have a nice day.
Without bothering to wait for a reply, the officers turned & walked right back out of the room, leaving the hover-cart behind them. Any investigation into the cart would find only that it had been constructed out of off the shelf parts that could have been purchased anywhere.

He took her hand. But, please stay my dear. Yes, Manda'lor had pulled them into a war...a war that was seen as unnecessary by many mando'a, even if most wouldn't say so. She would never say it outloud, but Vee personally didn't believe in the war. If the Force users were leaving them alone, why provoke them? It could be argued to kill them before later down the road they became a problem, but...they hadn't been too big an issue for thousands of years, why start now? Vee believed her uncle when he said it was for political reasons. Manda'lor was sure to keep power as long as a war was going on.
Could she really blame Exchequer for skating away from the war? Almost every true mando'ad male of age and ability had been recruited to fight, as well as many women. Those who were eligible and did not fight were seen as dar'manda, even if they didn't go into a life of crime as Ex had done. Taung's honor in fighting was what killed him. Fight in a war that you may or may not believe in, and die with honor...or refuse and live as dar'manda? That was really the question, wasn't it? But being dar'manda didn't mean that you had to live a life of crime. And if that was all you could do, it didn't mean that you became a drug addict.Vee's jaw clenched as she pulled her hand away from Ex. I don't care about power. I don't care about wealth. I have an honest job, despite the war going on. You could too, even as dar'manda. Concerning the shipment, I don't care what it is. I don't ask questions. And no, I won't stay. I've caught up enough with you as it is. I don't want to know any more. So unless you intend to hold me hostage, I'm leaving. My boss doesn't like to be kept waiting, and I'm not losing my job over this. She snorted. I won't tell anyone who you are.

Exchequer moved backwards a bit in the moment and a bit in the come down of his drugs.
And, you think your job is honest? And, maybe, just maybe it somehow makes you good? But, let me tell you something, you need the bad guy to point at and say, "He's the bad guy." But, you know what, you aren't that good either, you know how to hide it just like who employs you. They know how to hide their badness. You call it honest how they only give you a portion of what your job is worth while they recline in their big fat estates. Well guess what, this is the last time you'll see a bad guy like me.
He started to move to the door.
Your cargo is in the hangar. Don't let the bad guy stop you anymore.
