The Grand Staircase is the first step past the Main Gate and atrium to the Temple proper's entrance. Its ascending steps span a width enough to drive a grav-tank up and its highly ornate gilding and finely laid Corellian marble make it seem more like a palace's steps than a Temple's. On each side of the staircase - in ascending intervals - are statues of the Temple's founding members:
The first statue was of a young male masked with a re-breather, his face was obscured by its bulk but his Djem So stance overlooking the atrium of the courtyard was dutiful and measured. This statue was that of Jedi Knight Ken-Shi; the Temple's namesake for his selfless act of giving his life in Defense of Tatooine. The second statue on the opposite side of the staircase was an older man, distinguished, regal. He stood stoically and stared off into the distance. This man was Jedi Master Bruneau, Master to Sylvis Amara before his death at the hands of a Sith. The third was another young man, but he was different from Ken's statue, he seemed darker and stood in almost a brooding fashion. The figure's two sabers were drawn - one in each hand - pointing down to make an X towards the base of his statue. There stood Dark Jedi Ket Lamar, the self-proclaimed guardian over the Temple he protected with his life. Across from Ket stood a statue of a beautiful Togrutain woman, she was in a crouching stance, saber drawn, hand out-stretched as if using the Force to pull you in. Jedi Knight Zhok-Ti helped Ket in protecting the Temple. Next came a Statue of a fair-looking man, gaunt and subtle. He stood holding out a rapier-like sword, as if taunting someone to duel. This whimsical statue was that of Jedi Knight Tandassii Starfire. To the Right of Tanda stood a young girl, she was the smallest and youngest looking of all the statues, she held her saber ready. The defiant gaze of Jedi Knight Sylvis Amara told volumes of her never ending resolve and courage to her order and friends. On the Left to Sylvis. At the very top of the staircase, to the front of the Temple's door stood two figures. One in the livery of a Jedi, his saber drawn and crossing the saber of a figure in the livery of a Sith. On the left stood Grand Master Jedi Jay-Ven and on the right stood Lord Jud'dayus. Under the crossing of their sabers was the portal into which every student would have to pass, in order to get into the Temple proper.

Jud didn't even look up at the statues. Maybe it was too painful, maybe he didn't care, or maybe he couldn't look upon them without begging for their collective forgiveness's. Whatever the reason was, the Old Sith kept his eye straight ahead, not even blinking as he stepped down towards the Gates. He was on a mission, and nothing would stop him. Not even the visages of his dead friends.

Calmly and with no particular haste, Carmine made his climb up the staircase, occasionally taking note of one of the statues. To him it seemed like a lifetime since he had last made this climb. In fact, the last time he was here was actually somewhere over a decade ago when he had just returned from his isolation on Abyssissa. Carmine smiled and gave a slight sigh, those were rather unfavorable times. He was forced to vacate his palace AS WELL as the planet, and though he lived comfortable on his grounded spacestaton, it just wasn't the same. Carmine stopped for a moment and turned around, gazing into the desert as the suns set over the horizon.
"Perhaps it's better if the past stays in the past...."
As he spoke, an uncommonly cool breeze blew past Carmine, blowing the ends of his cloak about in its wake. Carmine felt for a moment that this was the universe's way of agreeing with him....though shortly after he dismissed the thought altogether.
=Kiko= "Not to break your train of thought, but perhaps we could hurry this along? It'll be dark soon and I'm growing quite bored."
Carmine suddenly snapped out of his trance-like state, shaking his head slightly. He had lost track of time, he felt that is what happens when recalling old memories. As he climbed the final step and made his way through the door to the main corridor, Carmine spoke quietly.
=Carmine= "Be patient, I know you're anxious to know the reason for our visit, but soon your questions as well as my own will be answered."
With that final comment, Carmine disappeared into the darkened doorway.

Carmine made his way down the staircase without paying much attention to the interaction that took place between Xia and Jud behind him. Instead he pulled his datapad out of his robe and began typing for a few moments before the word 'understood' briefly appeared on the screen. Smiling, Carmine continued on his way down the steps. As he did so he looked over his shoulder and began speaking to the woman following behind him.
"So, does Jud'dayus have you do this sort of thing often?"
Given the previous interactions between the two of them, Carmine knew this would be an odd thing to ask. Though perhaps not so much because of the question, but instead the fact that he was attempting to make a seemingly polite conversation with the girl. That truth behind his reasoning at this point was little more than the fact that he hated awkward silences, which he felt that this trip would be full of if he didn't at least try to converse with her. However, if she didn't want to play ball then that was fine too, at least he tried. At this point his mind was more focused on the questions surrounding the item that the old man would have him retrieve.

Xxoxia ignored the man until they had descended the entirety of the Grand Staircase. The sleek black Theta-class T-2c shuttle already had it's landing ramp down and was spooling up for take off. Xia started up the ramp.
"Yes..." Was all she said, with a half glance back at the man. Before she continued into the ship.

Carmine smirked as he climbed the landing ramp into the ship. "This is is going to be a long flight" he thought. As he stepped inside of the ship, Carmine noticed a small folder laying in one of the passenger seats. He assumed it was the dossier Jud had mentioned earlier, but instead of looking at it, Carmine instead ignored it and made his way into the cockpit. As he entered, he took notice of the droids piloting the vessel. Remaining in the doorway, Carmine speaks to them rather calmly.
"Before we leave for Bakura I have to make a stop in Beggar's Canyon to pick up some supplies. Let me give you the coordinates."
After giving the pilots the desired coordinates, they simply nodded and continued with their take off procedures. The young-looking Sith then returned to the back of the ship and sat down, picking up the dossier from nearby as he did so. After the shuttle rose above the Temple's main gate, it blasted off into the desert at a high speed.

Enam marched through to the stairs, and made his way deeper into the Temple. The statues that stood were duct coated enough to disgust the Sith, but the intimidating presence of the warriors that came before couldn't be covered up. He turned his gaze to each one, seemingly greeting each one as he walked passed with the droids in tow. Finally reaching the top, he made his way through to the corridors within.

Without slowing down once he came to the staircase, Enam leaped downwards, skipping steps with each drop to not waste momentum nor time. The images of the fallen still within view of his peripherals stirred more in him, clenching his jaw tighter as memories of his days with them all those years ago. Angrily continuing his sprinting from the bottom of the stair case, he raced out towards the main gates.
"Damn him... and everything that is here."

Xxoxia was first to the staircase, her temper cooling as she distanced herself from Sinistra. What did she know, huh? Xia though as she turned to see where exactly the rest of her tour party was. The Temple hadn't been used for a center of learning since before her induction by Jud'dayus. So, what could Sinistra truly know? Nothing... Absolutely nothing about her Master nor how they should conduct themselves. Xxoxia, gave the thought a smirk. "Maybe next time we should shoot first and ask questions later." She mused to herself as Enam caught up to her.
"You really shouldn't get so huffy." He stated slightly under his breath. "She's not your average Sith..." Enam looked back towards Sinistra and the darkly robed figure that ghosted her every step, before looking back to Xia. "Her name, I kind of remember it. I remember the Old Man talking about her. So, don't pull anymore of your 'holier than thou' shtako.... Savvy?" Enam said with a mocking smirk and wink.
Xia's lips pursed for a second, as she looked from Enam to Sin and back. "I don't like people insulting our Master." She hissed out.
Enam shrugged. "Grow some Whilldamned skin. The world has far worse things out there than name calling. Oh, and the Old Man ain't my Master..." He snorted, before looking back towards Sin again.
"Fine." Xxoxia exhaled to Enam bitterly, before turning to look at Sin and her darkly robed colleague again. "Since your welcome at the Gates was less that cordial..." Xia cleared her throat and gave both travelers a bow. "Welcome to the Ken-Shi Temple, you are now about to ascend the Grand Staircase, which is adorned with the statues of its founding members." Xia just motioned to the larger than life statues to each side of her. "We'll be within the Temple shortly. " She finished, as she turned again from Sin and started up the staircase.

The irritation peeling off the woman was delicious to Sinistra who took every opportunity to smile gentilly at the obviously angry young woman. The statues in the halls were somewhat interesting, although the look of the building and the sound of the silence through the halls confirmed her suspicion that the Temple did not see a great deal of visitors or students for that matter. As the pair of hosts talked through their differences, Sinistra shot Stormro a look that seemed reminiscent of a look she would have given him on Naboo when others would scoff at their credentials from KA. However, now she was far more powerful and the isolated pair in front of her were quite blissfully unaware of who trailed along behind them making comments at the decor as she passed a statue of Jud'dayus, muttering to herself. "Charming."

J20 lead the Jedi Padawan silently from the Gardens and through the deserted Atrium before the Temple that she had found herself in for the past few days. Since the Battle of Ossus she'd been given full range of the grounds. Not guarded nor hindered in exploring ways to leave, and at this point she still hadn't found any such way to do so.
Just a bit further, milady. J20 stated as they neared a staircase that could rival the one for the Grand Temple on Coruscant.
As they neared, a cloaked figure was maknig its way down the steps three at a time, obviously they were in a rush.

Nel nodded to the droid, before her gaze fell on the figure who was in such a rush. Whether they were late for something, or merely on their way out, it was hard to tell. Instinctively, she stepped to the side and out of the way of the approaching person, just as a precaution in case the person needed by. Carefully, she hooked the hilt of the saber she held to her belt, alongside another that was there, before she fixed her eyes again on the cloaked figure that approached them.

The cloaked figure slowed their pace as the droids and Nel ascended the staircase.
"You must be the "guest" that my Master was speaking about?" Came an irritated female voice from under the darkness. "J-20, you can leave us."
Yes, mistress. Was all the protocol droid said, before bowing to both the figure and Nel.
"Well..." The figure said as she took down her hood, revealing the youthful face of a beautiful Dathomirian woman. "Get a move on." She finished, waving for Nel to follow her back into the Temple.

The Zabrak froze a moment when the woman first addressed her, her spine stiffening in worry and a slight amount of fear. After Ossus, she had a hard time letting her guard down around anyone. She forced herself to swallow, however, and forced herself to move forward after the curt sounding woman. What was happening inside she had no idea on. She only knew that she was told to follow, and she automatically did as she was told, as always. She kept her words to herself, though, not wanting any anger or really much of anything directed her way.

The trip from Kuat had been spent in complete meditation. The Sith lord forbade any and all his droids to interrupt him, even if something dire came about.
Jud sat in the middle of his augmented sanctum within the belly of the craft. His hooded head rising as he felt the landing of his ship on firm ground. Without a word he stood and bowed to no one, before turning on his heels and exiting aft; towards the landing ramp. None of the droids dared approach the man, nor did they try to alert the Venerable Sith to any going-ons to bring him up to date. They knew - even though they were all pre-loaded synthetics - that to countermand the darkly cloaked figure was a fate worse than being deactivated.
Jud felt the familiar searing heat of his exile home's atmosphere as he descended the ramp into the glaring white of the midday suns. His eye adjusted slowly and in the near distance two figures were making their ways towards him through the shimmering heat haze of the Temple's unkempt atrium. Despite his mood, a smile crept across the old Sith's face. He had half expected the whelp to have run off again, but true to his word he had stayed to end this. As for his Errant... Jud noticed she stood a little taller, or at least that's what it seemed like. "My hands..." Jud finally spoke under his breath, as he thought of the prophesy from the Jedi seer on Malachor.
He thought on this fact for several minutes as he closed the gap between him and his hands. The grains in the hourglass were starting to filter and siphon out faster, and there was no stopping it. Jud nodded his head as he talked with himself, his inner monolog spilling forth with questions, concerns, and maybe even fears. Fears? Was that even possible? The Sith shrugged his shoulders to the thought, the notion was alien now. A almost forgotten peace of his humanity, that he hadn't lost, but managed to nestle itself into the deepest recesses of his psyche. He was still human after all, he wasn't a God yet, and all his shortcomings of being mortal would be shed; much like his husk of a corporal body.

She'd felt him...
Xxoxia thought as she walked down the staircase with Enam. she'd felt his arrival even before the Temple's protocol droid had wrapped on her door. A smile crossed the young woman's face, as she felt the excitement of the return of her Master, her teacher... her father. The smile faded as she thought of Jud'dayus as her father. The thought had once gotten her nearly killed, as his rage was unleashed on her for uttering such a thought. Even the thought of it was probably enough to warrant the Old Sith to fly into a horrible rage. So, she would bury it, bury the thought and the mix of emotions that came with that word.
"You'll have to do a better job than that." Enam chimed in unexpectedly, as Xia looked over to see him grinning in his usual sarcastically charming way. "You wear your heart on your sleeve, kiddo." He continued, as they descended the last of the staircase and turned towards the landing area of the atrium. The heat haze making the dark blotch of a ship almost hard to see.
"I don't know what you're taking about, Enam." Xia replied in a clipped manner. Her back straightening and her stride hastening towards the ship, and away from her irritant.
"Oh, you don't?" Enam asked, chuckling a bit as he equaled her stride. "You can't replace her." He said bluntly.
Xia turned to snap at Enam. Not knowing what he was going on about, but she didn't. His face had lost its sarcastic sneer, and had become dark and sullen. In the months since their meeting on Bakura, she'd never seen this, never seen anything close to the emotion of sadness she was seeing now. Xia opened her mouth, slowly formulating a question as they continued forward. "Can't replace who exactly, Enam?" The man's face was set in a frown that could have been chiseled out of granite. It was set in a stoic manner of someone weighing their options, and the possibilities of their knowledge having horrible ramifications. "Who?" Xia pried, stopping in her advance to touch Enam on the arm.
He slowed and eventually stopped, before turning his head slowly to look at Xia with the same troubled face. "I've already said too much..." Enam trailed off as he turned his head again towards the dark figure closing the distance towards them steadily. Enam looked back to Xia, and tilted his head towards the Old Man's direction. "Forget I said anything." He stated sternly, pulling his arm from the woman's grip, as he started off again towards Jud'dayus.
"Enam!" Xxoxia yelled to the brooding man's back, in a pleading manner.
"I said forget it, kid! And I mean NOW!" He yelled back in an enraged tone. Not stopping even for a moment to look back again.
Xxoxia stood there transfixed to the spot just watching Enam continue towards their Master. She was trembling slightly, ever so slightly. It wasn't because she was scared, or enraged. It seemed that she just had the jitters. There was something, something deep and dark. Something that Enam knew about and had thought she did too, right? He obviously wouldn't have brought anything up if he'd known that she wasn't privy to such things, right? Xia continued to watch the space between her and Enam widen, and the dark figure in the distance - her Master - grow clearer and clearer within the shimmering heat haze of the suns.
"What am I to you?" She said softly aloud, noticing her Master stop and incline his hooded head towards her for a moment, before continuing towards them. It sent a chill down her spine, and strangely brought her to her senses. Without another thought, Xia had buried her feelings, and started off to catch up to Enam.

Jud didn't rush towards his learners, there was no need in doing so. As much as time was running its course, it was also something that he ignored. Time had become a joke to him many, many centuries ago.
"Old Man..." Enam said in gruff tone, stepping before the Sith and giving him a curt nod of respect. "Are you back so we can finish this?" His former learner asked without hesitation or remorse.
"Tempestuous..." Jud answered with a bow, before taking down his hood and staring at Enam's aged face with his single, ever searching eye. "I've returned for many things, and yes, one is to finish what I have started."
Xxoxia had caught up with the two men, and gave her Master a deep respectful bow. "Master, my apologies..." Xia stifled as she caught her breath from the short sprint. "Are you staying long, Master?" She asked, still at a slight bow to the Venerable Sith.
Jud was silent for a moment, his eye locking onto his Errant like a leech. Xia kept her eyes to the ground, but the sensation of her Master's penetrating gaze gave her the heebie jeebies. Eventually Jud looked away and past both his learners towards the Temple. "I will remain here for some time, yes." Jud finally replied, but his voice was hollow, or maybe it was just somber as he looked upon a place which conjured up only distant memories? "The Holy War has come to a pitiful end, and the seeds of tension and descent have been sown into the very fabric of the galaxy." Jud motioned for them to follow him into the Temple, and out of the brutal midday suns.
"Tension? Descent?" Xia asked, as she followed Jud'dayus.
"Another war..." Jud replied shaking of his head. "Not one of armies and fleets - persay, but one of subterfuge. A stalemate of the powers that be. A stalemate that, for the moment, no one will dare break. It would lead to all out war, and all those in power, pushing the lines of their territories against one another haven't the resources to fight another protracted war." Jud turned back towards Enam and Xxoxia, a clever smirk on his skeletal face. "A Cold War, my dear... A war of pure attrition. The galaxy has been told to hold it's breath." Jud turned back to start up the staircase. "Lets see how long it can hold its breath?" He laughed.
"Was that what Kuat was about, the end of one war and the beginning of another?" Enam asked, as he wrapped his head around what Jud was divulging. "And where did you fit into this, Old man? Did you help orchestrate this too?"
Jud stopped in his climb and was silent for a moment. "Yes..." He finally said. "Kuat was the end and the beginning, but that's how the universe works, Tempestuous. Every end is just another beginning." Jud nodded his head and started up the stairs again. "As for where I "fit in". I'm not sure, and no." The Sith answered with a shrug to the astonishment of Enam. He'd expected some witty quip or nothing at all, but to get a genuine answer from the old fugger was odd.
"How did the battle go, Master?" Xia finally chimed in, oblivious to the fact that Enam had purposely not asked the same question.
"It cost me many droids." Jud replied with a tinge of annoyance. "Otherwise is was an unremarkable event, and better forgotten."
Xia and Enam exchanged a glance to each other that said "that's odd". They had both found their Master's lackluster approach to his absence and abrupt departure as if it had never happened. Maybe that's how he wanted to remember it, as if nothing had happened, and he could just pick up where he had left off all those weeks ago?
Silence fell upon the three as they climbed the rest of the staircase, and stepped off onto the landing before the Temple doors. Jud turned to look at Enam and Xia, his face pursed in thought.
"It seems to me that there's something more pressing..." He began, his eyes narrowing. "Something that has gone unsaid, but is bubbling just below the surface. Is there?" Jud asked, his searching gaze going from Enam to Xia.
Xxoxia dare not blink, not look away for reassurance in Enam's eyes, ad not close her eyes to quell the thoughts in her mind. She had to be calm, transparent, and utterly unreadable. She had to heed Enam's words, and blank her mind to the Old Sith. Though she knew he wasn't a mind reader, Jud was apt enough to read someone well enough to hypothesis the situation at hand.
Jud stared at them for a moment longer, before shooting Enam a steeling glare and turning on his heels with a huff. "Very well then." Jud stated, waving his hand at the Temple door to open it. "I'll be in my sanctum. I expect the both of you to be ready for training within two hours." The door had opened and Jud started in towards his sanctum. "There is much to be done before the next phase." Jud finished as he walked into the dim temple interior, leaving Xia and Enam of the pressipise.
Both learners were silent, as they stared off to thier Master, as he disappeared in the corridor; like some dark specter.
