The message was not displayed in the senate, for that it would have to go through scans for viruses first, then surely a cometee to decide on how to deal with it, then maybe the cometee would decide to put it up to vote weather the message should be sent to the entire senate, and then, when the vote was done, someone might just veto it, and a new cometee would be formed to watch over the workings of the first cometee, because no cometee should be unchecked, and when that cometee had decided that the decision the first cometee had made, they might just send the message to revision for further analysis.
or... you know... they would just play it. It was up to them. Orbital controll had dispatched the connection to the senate rotunda communications hub, it was up to them to deal with it.
But they better deal with it... Seleevan Khar was known for patience, but he did not like to be played with.
-Message from Strike Force Nemesis Triton- Greetings Senate, and represantative senators. I am Seleevan Khar. I have a propposal for your respected governmental body, and also, key millitary intelligence you might be intrested in. For both you, and the jedi.
I suggest a neutral place of negotiation, open. I suggest a table with three chairs. One for a representative senator, representing the republic, one for a jedi, representing the jedi, and finally, one for me.
I await your answer in orbit. Thank you for your interest.

From the communications hub, the message was switched over to the foreign ministry, where there was what amounted to a diplomatic affairs call center for receiving messages just such as this one. First, they were checked for relevance by an automated system, and given a preliminary priority. Because this call originated from Coruscant's orbit, it was given a higher score, and because the language used concerned typical political topics, it passed the spam validation as well. The references to the Jedi and to military intelligence also rated it as highly relevant, and about ten minutes later, it was played back by a diplomatic supervisor, who sighed, and transferred it to one of his subordinates. The man on the other end was offering a lot of talk, but there was no substance, and so he had no time for it. But finally, a first level diplomat answered the call, and after a few moments' consideration, sent an initial response. A quick search on his holonet terminal raised more questions than answers, and his Republic intelligence searched came back as denied due to classified information. He would have to stall for time while he made further inquiries. No Jedi or Senator was going to agree to a meeting without a lot more information about Khar. Then again, given the classified designation, maybe they already knew more than him.

Kashk entered the Senate Rotunda. His goal was to keep a low profile until he could meet his contact. He kept a keen eye out for anyone wearing a golden ring with a bantha on it. Hopefully the fact he was a 2m tall Trandoshan wouldn't hurt him in keeping a low profile...

The tiss'shar led Kask to outlander club. He would motion the transdoshan to take a seat in the very back of the establishment so they could begin a long discussion on what was on the table. And, how the transdoshan was expected to do and not to do. Though, being the Exchange, most far away enforcers disregarded the part about what not to do. However, if it ended badly, it was most certainly a thing for the boss to get involved. And no one liked getting the boss involved. Someone who Jul-lan-lor had never even met.

A brief message is sent to the diplomat, informing him that if the stranger in question can meet in the next half hour, and a jedi can be found on Coruscant, which is a fairly rare occurrence at this point due to the siege of Yavin claiming most of their resources, the Vice-Chancelor would gladly meet the man at a local tap-caf for a brief period of time to sort out the initial difficulties as well as possible. This was going to re-arrange the VC's schedule significantly, but it had to be done, and he really needed to invest in the defense of Coruscant, as their was apparently no force currently in orbit of any substantial size.

Ushered along by blue velvet clad guards, their tall black plumes of horsehair on their helmets reflecting the dim lighting of the posh and well appointed Senate hall, Sinistra was struck by the enduring decor of the building and offices. Everything was exactly as it had been the last time she had graced these halls, if gracing the halls were an appropriate phrase for her visits. There was no one who held the ideals of the Senate close to heart that would agree that the Sith Lord had any grace to speak of. There were many among her former allies and rivals that would characterize her as having a certain amount of etiquette and a formal, cultured air to her speech and mannerisms, but grace would not be an attribute given to anyone with the amount of blood she had on her hands.
Demarus and Monet stayed behind in a staging area, the pair of them exchanging terse words about the safety of Lord Sinistra with security forces who were insistent that no one would be foolish enough to make an attempt on the well known Sith Lord and that her criminal status on certain system worlds not withstanding, her presence in the halls of the Rotunda was covered by diplomatic immunity for the duration of her stay as long as she did not venture off the grounds. To appease them, the security chief granted a pair of the Senate guards to accompany Sinistra and Lorta in the pod. Gorja bowed out of attendance and opted to remain with Demarus, still getting used to having his old friend back from the clutches of oblivion.
Sinistra and Lorta took seats while the pod waited for launch, their faces hidden by the shadow of the overhang where the pods of guests were brought in and out of the massive room. Sinistra could see the pods lining the walls of the great space but identifying any one planetary delegation was impossible from her vantage point. It was barely a moment when she heard the Chancellor announce their arrival and impromptu request to address the Senate regarding the recent hostilities caused by the Mandalorians. The pod glided forward into the light and the Republic could finally see for themselves the visitors to their storied halls.
Lorta and Sinistra were dressed regally, but not overly flashy, their hair styled in elaborate updos that were the fashion of the matriarchal lead Kuati people. Lorta was native to Kuat, her family one of the Ten, but Sinistra was merely an adopted ruler who gave the Ten free reign to run their noble houses and the Drive Yards as they saw fit. It was a mutually beneficial relationship and with a noble pedigree herself from her birth parents on Serenno, Sinistra was a welcome addition to the Kuati political landscape.
When the pod had reached the place where she would address the officials from, Sinistra rose and stood in front of a podium at the front of the pod, her voice clear and strong as it echoed throughout the hallowed room.
"Greetings esteemed Chancellor, senators and representatives. I come to you today with news of heartache and triumph. Through your generosity and efforts, Kuat was evacuated in anticipation of an attack from Taung H'rel. The battle was hard fought and we experienced a great number of casualties through loss of ships and life. It was through decisive action and thankless heroism that we held civilian casualties to a minimum, but alas our foes were able to destroy a transport and shell Kuat City. But our enemies have been vanquished. Taung H'rel is confirmed as a casualty of the battle, taken down in a crash of his gunship as he prepared to lay siege to my stronghold on the plains."
Some thunderous applause broke out at the news of Taung's death, as affected systems rejoiced to hear that their foe had been killed. Others murmured among themselves, muddying the celebratory clapping with the sound of descension. Sinistra paused for a moment then continued, her voice rising in joy.
"But my purpose today was not to tell stories of battle and deaths, it is to talk of what lays before all of us as we rebuild from this nightmare. Kuat, Korriban, Balmorra, Dromund Kaas, Ossus, Yavin. Planets that have been scarred by the acts of war, peoples displaced and the lives of billions torn apart. Even now, Kuat is silent. The Drive Yards are still and we have only barely been able to restore power and life support to some of the more heavily damaged sections. The Kuati are scattered among the stars, waiting for the opportunity to return home, to rebuild.
We need help to rebuild that was once great. I know that historically, Kuat and her sister worlds of Dark Tide have been excluded from the Senate but surely in the face of such widespread devastion, compassion for others could move your hearts to help those who gave their lives and homes to stop the tide of Mandalorian blood shed. Let not my sins color your vision of the people who have followed my lead. I am asking you for relief aide and for those worlds to be welcomed to the fold as members of the Republic, knowing well as I do your stance on members of the Sith."
She was sure this would cause an uproar and up in the security booth, Monet and Demarus waited for the inevitable reaction she was bound to receive.

Argos races towards the rotunda. He was late, and the thought of missing anything annoyed him greatly. It only took minutes for him to find the senate seat he was suppose to be in, but there were two senate guards at the entrance. As Argos stepped forward they barred his way into his seat, his rightful spot in this senate.
"What is this?!" He spat. "You are barring a planetary representative of Brentaall, and that means you're in the way of the Brentaall people." He shouted, as he heard a voice from within the rotunda speaking. "Let me by, or so help me..." Argos' two Noghri body guards finally rounded the corner, catching up with their Master.
The senate guards looked at each other and uncrossed their glaves, remaining silent and still as statues.
"Thank you." Argos huffed, straightening his uniform, and making sure his hair was just right. He even checked the lightfoil at his left hip, making sure it was still properly seated, before entering his office. He stared at the vast expanse of the rotunda in awe. It wasn't that he didn't know it was a vast conglomerate of systems, but he never pictured it, or maybe he couldn't. It was an awesome sight, the shear volume of minds in this one room. The shear power in this one room.
He finally took his seat, and his Noghri guards took their positions up on either side of his seat. He was here, he was finally here to represent his home world. It made the young man chuckle;e with excitement, and childish giddiness, before he turned his attention to the darkly haired woman on the vid screens.

Belf'ima walked silently to her seat. She had never before been late. She had been absent before, but never late. She had been listening to the speech thus far in an earpiece. In truth, she had already been briefed about the day's matter in the military committee. She had already made up her mind. While it seemed foolish to aid one's enemies while so much of the Republic was suffering, (in fact her own homeworld was under siege at that very moment) she did not believe that they could allow innocent people to suffer. Those people could not help being under a dictatorship, and they had suffered enough without being abandoned by those who claimed to be on the side of good. While she would not support a bill to send finances, she would support one to send food, clothing, and some construction materials, with some conditions, of course. If Crom'nen were here, he would find some way to use this to his political gain. How, she was not sure. But she was here and he was not. She was willing to do good without some favor in exchange.

The Vice Chancellor sat in his seat on the central dias in the rotunda, he listened with a studiously blank face, offering no signal of his own feelings or thoughts on the matter. He had no qualms about helping the down trodden and war torn people of the republic, but it his opinion that a governing body should care for it's own. Still, the body in question seemed to recognize it's failings and sought the aid of the republic, and at least appeared willing to relinquish it's hold on those planets in dire need of assistance. Did they hope to use the republic as a spring board? Rebuilding with it's resources only to secede when they were back on their feet and to yet again pose a viable threat to the republic? That would be a very Sith thing to do, but if nothing else Sith are unpredictable, and it seems likely that they are far more interested in distracting the senate with please for help, while placing their own strings within it's body. That was not something he could rebuff, and it bothered him, though he still did not let it show.
The speaker of the senate finally returned the chamber to order, after several minutes of mixed reactions. For some there was only shock, many others made sounds and gestures of dissent, showing their distaste for the Sith and anything or anyone associated with them, a others murmured amongst them selves, seeking to find a balance between their hatred of the Sith and their compassion for the innocent civilians under their tyranny. Darma was not interested in causing dissent, but he did wonder what the Sith expected to pay in recompense for accepting this heavy burden.
Where do the Sith fit in this plan of yours? Will you also form an order to advise and guide the senate, as the Jedi have? I doubt you will simply abandon your homes and leave the worlds in question to find their own way through the Republic's bureaucracy. So where will you be, and how would this shift in planetary allegiance affect Dark Tide?

A message came through to both the Jedi High Council Chambers and the Senate Rotunda. Anyone who was absent from either location would have the message forwarded to their personal comm or holo devices. A holo image of the deminuitive Ewok Jedi Master known as Rawkill appeared before the messages intended audience =Jedi Master Rawkill= Greetings esteemed members of the Jedi High Council and the Galactic Republic Senate. I am Jedi Master Rawkill of the Council of First Knowledge. Today I came to you bearing grave news from the world of Yavin IV, formerly home of the Yavin IV Praxeum. As apart of my Council duties to ensure all Jedi archives were properly maintained and untampered by the Mandalorian Forces, under supervision of Republic Admiral Ju'unthor, I arrived to Yavin IV just moments ago to find GALSAF forces already waiting in orbit. As per Republic and Jedi customs, I greeted GALSAF and plainly stated my intentions with regards to maintaining and checking over the Jedi owned Archives. At which point GALSAF proceeded to try and stone wall my efforts. To ascertain that GALSAF would not take control of the joitnly owned Jedi/Republic Military Installation over Yavin IV, I contacted Master Diamonte Tuhlute who was my local contact at Yavin IV. He has informed me that GALSAF has somehow managed to take possession of the Jedi Archives, a fact that Admiral Staton of GALSAF further reiterated, and has informed me that GALSAF does not intend to hand over any data until they have perused it. It is my belief that they have malicious intent, a fact that Admiral Ju'unthor backs me regarding. With this in mind, Ander Tagira, Jethroe Staton and GALSAF have committed acts of terrorism against not only the Jedi, but the Republic as well, even now their forces seek to regain control of the Yavin Defence Station and intend to take control of the other temples located on Yavin. As such in accordance with Republic law, I will detain and arrest both Ander Tagira and Jethroe Staton, so that they may stand trial, and have ordered GALSAF to disband. At this stage I am confident the Republic Fleet with me will be more than enough, but I would like to request that any further assistance be on stand by to come assist. Master Rawkill out.

The Rotunda was out of control. An uproar on several fronts. The tense neighbor and historic enemy of the Galactic Republic now stands in front of the Chair of the Joint Military Committee of the Republic asking for clemency and mercy relief be brought to it's people. Even though the committee has already ruled on that subject, the representative of the Dark Tide came to deliver the motion herself-- there is more to this visit to this then she is leading on.
And then the Jedi came on and publicly confirmed the information that his personal contacts in the High Council had delivered earlier that day in his offices. Now that the GALSAF mercenary holds the coveted archives of the Jedi in Yavin IV.
The Galactic Republic was being ripped at the seams and this body that is charged with bringing prosperity and security to the multitude of trillions of beings and it cannot provide either. The Mon Calamari allowed his Vice Chancellor to preside over the talks; not only is Darma an informed leader with knowledge of the decisions made to help the people of the galaxy, he was one it's main proponents-- and right now a much more level headed diplomat this moment then the Mon Calamari Supreme Chancellor would be as he allowed democracy to it's course.
But it was taking every political once in his stately body not to burst out in rage. If this conversation does not begin to right the galaxy, Chancellor Cihlbar will begin to assert his Supremacy in his chamber. He looks to the Jedi Master to his side who is resolutely stalwart, his fine jawline firmly locked and his piercing blue eyes staring blindly at the Darktide representative-- seemingly in effected by anything else going on around him.

Sinistra had long wondered if the Republic resented the involvement of the Jedi in their affairs and with the questions from Darma, she had her answer. She turned a benevolent gaze upon the Vice Chancellor, her velvety voice lilting and gentle as she answered him with slow deliberate words.
"I have no plans to organize a Sith Order to dictate policy to the Senate. My own personal philosophical views aside, Dark Tide is a socio-economic power that seeks to strengthen business and trade on those planets under our banner. I have not instilled my personal religious beliefs on any of the worlds and I would trust that the Republic would not either. That being said, Korriban is a Sith world, and I have long followed that path. I will not sulk quietly into the shadows, and I intend to remain in my residence on Kuat. Those who follow the Sith Code have as much a right to have their lives rebuilt from these horrors as anyone else. Those who call themselves Sith, who serve me as soldiers of Dark Tide sacrificed their lives to save yours. Are you suggesting that their beliefs make them and myself less than you, Vice Chancellor?"
Her face was fixed in a porcelain stare, her eyebrows raised in expectation and a tad of surprise. She still kept a very pleasant tone to her voice but inside, she was feeling the insidious grip of indignation tighten in her stomach.

I note, and listen to, the incoming transmission mildly annoyed at the the interruption though I don't let it show. Since the situation seems to be well enough in hand, and because it is a largely Jedi matter, I let it fade to the back of my mind to be mulled over until I deem to bring it back to the forefront of my mind. Returning my attention to the Sith, I hear her response and wonder why she takes the time to spar, if her people are so desperate for aid. Perhaps it was just her nature, regardless, her people didn't seem to be the focus of this speech.
You beneath me? Not likely, you are very skilled in your field of work. Your people beneath our people, even less likely, as a being is no more or less prone to be either good or evil based upon their governments. Your proposal beneath our consideration, possible, as I see no sign of Dark Tide reaching out to rebuild republic worlds affected by these horrors, as you so aptly put it. As I currently see it, and I hope I am missing something here, you are asking us to rebuild your worlds, while you sulk in the shadows, as well as rebuild our own devastated systems; which, as you may have noticed from the untimely interruption, are not all as they ought to be. Furthermore, you seem to expect us to fund this massive reconstruction on our own, which will likely do your people little if any good in the long run. Since your proposal seems to be one of voluntary servitude for the duration of the reconstruction, even if only in civic matters, I must return your question to you. Are we less than you, Lord Sinistra?
The whole is delivered with a pleasantly polite and soothing voice, of bass tonality. Darma's face remained a placid bronze bust, but for his moving lips. His hands rested lightly on the podium before him as addressed her, nothing in his stance offered any resistance or aggression. He knew his words could seem like an attack, but that was not at all what he wanted to do. He merely hoped to flesh out her plan of the reconstruction.

Belf'ima hesitated before hitting the button on her pod. This sent her out floating around, and amplified her voice.
Ladies, Gentlemen, and other beings of the Republic, honored guest. As you know, I am acting Senator in place of Crom'nen, as he is off doing his duty for our people. If here were here, he might remind us of how he came to notoriety. In the past, when he was a mere Senator's aide and but a teenager, he was ordered by the Republic to face threats so great, that the nature of these threats are still classified to the point that only the survivors of those expeditions know what truly happened. On orders from the Republic, he led teams of soldiers, Jedi, mercenaries, pirates, Mandos, and yes even Sith, to face far greater threats. Here today, we have a Sith Lady because we faced a greater threat, annihilation. We faced it not on political or religious terms, but as beings.
Many worlds have suffered. Military forces have dwindled. But we have survived. Therefore, let us speak plainly. Many here fear the Sith, because many of us have seen firsthand what evil they have wrought. But we are also not innocent. Let us not forget that the Galactic Empire was birthed from the Old Republic, and that Lord Vader was a Jedi. It is true that we seek people while the Sith have sought power through anger, but just because that is the case in general, does not mean that we should judge this individual upon that. After all, who among us have not been attacked because of our race? Are all humans Imperials? Are all Twi'lek crime lords and con artists? Are all Noghri assassins?
With that said, Sinistra, you do come to a people that see rage and fear as tools. So I think you could understand our reservations. The Vice Chancellor does bring up a point. If while we rebuild our worlds and yours, Kuat Drive Yard produces the machines of war, this could be interpreted as an act of aggression, forcing us to enter into an arms race. Both of our peoples would suffer as we devote resources toward battle cruisers that might have gone toward hospitals, schools, and residences. So what will your resources be devoted toward during the rebuilding? And what recompense might be made for whatever assistance might be given?

Sinistra sighed as she could see the conversation being steered directly at her chosen belief structure and inwardly she felt that tinge of injustice that stoked the fires of her ambition but none of it ever showed on her smiling face.
"I would never stand here and argue that either of us is less than the other, yet the fact remains that your charter spells out exactly what the Republic thinks of my kind. I come here to plead the case for 6 planets that have been joined in an economic alliance to be allowed to join your ranks, despite the fact that a Sith heads that alliance. Kuat Drive Yards is not owned by me, it is owned by the Ten; the noble houses of Kuat and the workers who call the massive ring home. I do not own Balmorran Arms, or Czerka. I do not control the flow of resources and food among those worlds that have flown the Dark Tide banner. I do not prohibit them to sell grain from Garqi to Republic buyers but you seem to think I wish to use your money to rebuild the ships I lost so that I may control you. But let us speak plainly." She narrowed her eyes as she began to speak of the hardships the people of Dark Tide were up against.
"The people of Korriban and Balmorra suffer as they struggle to rebuild from Mandalorian attacks. They need resources and relief aid but I cannot protect those trade routes from smugglers and pirates. I asked for the help of the Republic and the Jedi in saving the 3.6 billion citizens of Kuat before Taung could strike again. Those people have still not been returned home. I am loathe to believe that you would hold the free peoples of Kuat as ransom for the demilitarization of Dark Tide, and still, here I am questioned on if I am asking to have the Republic rebuild my worlds so that I can subjugate the Republic. You must understand my frustrations and my hesitations to come here. The Ten have implored me for answers, you evacuated their people and they look to me for guidance. Is it the intention of the Republic to bankrupt KDY? Do you also intend to force Mon Calamari Shipyards to abandon warships? Or perhaps Corellian Engineering? Why are my motives suspect? I have not attacked a civilian Republic target so your trepidation is confusing. I extended an olive branch to the Jedi in our mutual interests, I have offered the same to the Republic. The jewels of the Dark Tide, the coffers of our ecomomic ties in exchange for representation and help. I will not abandon them to you, I have no intention of disbanding Dark Tide, but surely in the name of peace and healing, it is time to bury our past prejudices? And what of your own worlds that have seen chaos? Do you argue the merits of their survival as well? Do you question the heads of state about the attacks on Ossus and others?"

Argos sat, his fingers steepled in front of his face. His blue eyes measured the Sith lady known as Lord Sinistra with calculating coldness, as the convened senate erupted in wild debate over her proposition.
"Deirdre..." Argos said under his breath.
Yes. Came the reply from the indivisible earpiece in Argos' ear.
"Have you been receiving all of this?" Agros asked, before leaning in closer; just in case.
That I have. Seems there's more to this than we're getting, does it not? De answered, the cool smile forming on her face visible in her brother's mind's eye.
"I want to know everything about this, Lord Sinistra. Everything about the Dark Tide, and every possible morsel about the destruction of the Jedi by the Mandalorians. Buy, cheat, or steal... I don't care. I want more than enough information in order to work everyone to our advantage." Argos leaned back, reclining into the seat with a satisfied sigh. "Is that not a wise course of action, sister?"
Wise indeed, brother. Deirdre replied before the comm-channel went silent.
Argos allowed himself a smile, as he continued to listen. There would be time to chime in later, when the squabbling had died down , and true business could be done.

Belf'ima felt that her attempt to be a moderating presence and be respectful to the Lady Sith had not worked. Not yet. Perhaps in order to gain Sinistra's trust, she would have to provoke an argument with the VC. Time would tell. In the mean time, she spoke with a gentle tone.
With all due respect, Lady Sinistra, I believe I can speak on behalf of the majority of members of the Republic when I say that we are not arguing the merits of your survival, but only what cost sending aid to you will have upon the worlds which we represent. My own world, Ryloth, is being attacked as we speak, and fleets would take far too long to arrive to be of any assistance to this current crisis. By this time tomorrow, I may not be acting Senator, because my planet may be in control of a hostile force and therefore no longer a member of this Republic. Do not think that your worlds are the only ones who have suffered. The Vice Chancellor's own homeworld had been rebuilding for more than a year.
I say this so that you know that we have a shared sympathy for your plight. I really, truly can. Ours is a galaxy torn asunder by death, war, and calamity.
