The outside of the Cantina gave little indication of what to expect as Aqeel approached. He'd never been to Rellidir before; But, in recent months, the awe of new worlds had lost their affect on him. He stepped through the door and into the cantinas loud, and boisterous environment. With a deep, sniffing, breath a smile was painted across his face.
Home is such a vague word, he thought. He had a home once, but that seemed like a lifetime ago. The Cantinas were his home now. It's patrons his family.
A small human passed in front of him as he approached the bar, and glancing at the size of his arms and the two pistols blasters strapped to each of his sides, quickly moved away. "One glass of your strongest ale." He said in a voice that was a bit softer (with a hint of melancholy) than you'd expect from such a rough looking man.

The grizzled old Jedi noticed the new comer. He gave him a small nod and went to his drink. The kid would learn soon that there are some places you want to appear the strongest and roughest looking person in a crowd. There were other times when it was better just to seem like you can handle yourself. Speaking loud, even with your dress and arms can easily come across as a challenge to a crew of drunk spacers. Mir rubbed his beard, it hid a scar from the time he learned this lesson. There were a few of those types of people in the bar tonight, the question was if they were drunk enough to find out if they could beat up the baddest guy in the bar,

The bar keep brought Aqeel his drink, and he took in a large gulp before turning to survey the crowd. Unaware of the attention he was bringing to himself, he let his eyes wander until they fell on a twi'lek dancer and lingered for more than a few moments. Then, as he pulled his gaze away, he noticed an old man with white hair and a white beard. From this angle, he wasn't able to see the weapon on the old man's side. He thought it strange that such a man would be alone in a Cantina with no weapon showing to ward off potential troublemakers. The old man nodded to him, and he nodded back. Another swig of his ale, and Aqeel noticed a group of three men making their way toward him.
Great, he thought. I haven't been here five minutes and already, I'm getting into trouble.
Just as the men reached him, something clicked and he realized that the old man was probably a jedi. Or the owner of the Cantina. Equally as likely. He took a gamble and before the man in the middle was able to say anything, Aqeel interrupted.
"If you're looking for a fight, you won't find one here." He pointed to the old man across the cantina. "And he'd likely give you more for your trouble than I ever could." He set his cup down gently and stood to his full height, readying himself regardless. Over an inch shorter than the smallest of the three opposite of him, Aqeel tried to seem somewhat scared to these men. But, to a seasoned warrior, the determination and confidence in his eyes would be obvious.

He was rather surprised the young man pointed him out. He also wondered if the kid realized that the other gentlemen would be very insulted by that statement. Could he beat them all? Yes with ease, but nothing about him told anyone that. He turned his back to the situation and returned to his drink. The kid will learn these things one way or another.
I have no need to beat up an old man. But a new blood that comes in here dressed to fight, that i may need to deal with. Boys...Two more large ruffians turn in their chairs at the crowded bar and grab Aqeel's wrists preventing him from reaching his blasters Lets go outside then.
Mir didn't know how many men it would take to beat the kid up, but he knew the thugs were going to use at least 5, with probably a few more ready to jump in if the kid landed a few punches. This was what the world had become, this used to be a nice planet.

As the two other men stood and grabbed hus arms, Aqeel gave himself a mental shrug and thought "Well, I didnt really expect it to work anyway."
Outwardly, he shrugged as well, as the man speaking in front of him finished talking. "I know what men like you are like." Aqeel leaned forward a bit to get closer to the other man and lowered his voice to a loud whisper. "Youre the type of man who-" He cut himself off as he threw his head back and to the side to try to headbutt the man on his right. And then lunged forward with his left arm to throw the other man into the the "leader" of their group.
The gleam in his eye said that whether he won this fight or not, he WAS going to enjoy it..

The kid was brave, the old man had to give him that. Just brave enough to do something stupid, and to make things worse. Some place deep within the cynic was a voice that said that he was like that as well, long long ago. The blasters that were at the young man's side were thrown out and away when he tried to break fee of the clutches, no longer within reach for them to play a role in this fight. The leader took the impact of his lackey with a thud to the chest, staggering him a bit. One of the others that was next to him, a weequay came to his boss's defense, going for a spear to the young man's midsection. The trandoshan on the young man's right took the headbutt to the chin, forcing his face down. He maintained his strong grip on the kids arm, yanking it high above his own head. Stretching the youth and opening him up for the spear. The old man sat and watched, sipping his frothy beverage. He had seen many bar fights, he knew this one was over from the start. The numbers were just not in the kids favor. This was the real world, not some holo drama where groups attacked one at a time. No the tugs would converge at once, using each other to set up each attack. The question that had perked the grizzled old man's interest was, how long the kid could last? From the looks of it, long enough to justify ordering another drink. The bar tender was distracted hoping that the fight didn't break to much, so the old my put his glass under the tap and filled it himself. He left extra credits on the bar top and sipped the foamy nectar.

The young fighter never even saw the spear coming. As he turned to the large man still holding his arm, he felt the blow land at his side. He winced from the pain and refocused his attention. There were too many to deal with, Aqeel knew it, but he wasnt going to go down without a fight. He decided to do something unexpected and jumped to the side, using his foes grip as a pivot point to bring him around behind the thug and drive his knee into his lower back, putting his back to the bar, and this large man between him and the others. If only for a moment.

The old man shook his head. The kid had one tool at his disposal, speed. His opponents were all massive, the transdoshan came from a species of hunters that saw wookies as good sport. He boxed himself in and against the bar. The transdoshan used his strength ans twisted the man's arm, turning himself around to face the smaller man. The weequay came around to the other side and a massive human pinned him from the third. They closed giving the kid no room to work. The old man noticed the leader pull out a stun stick. He began to sneak up behind the bulk of the reptilian alien, getting ready to end the fight.

Seeing the old man sneaking up behind their leader, Aqeel had a feeling that this fight was about to be over one way or another. At least he could appear to have the upper hand when it does. In one quick movement, he jumped backwards onto the bar, slipping his arm from the big man's grasp, and then leaped high into the air, over the heads of the three, to land next to his pistols. He rolled and grabbed up his pistols as he did so, coming up to have them pointed at the group of thugs. He quickly glanced over to see what had happened with the old man..

People were about to get seriously hurt or killed in this little engagement. They would deserve it, but try as he might the old man just couldn't let it happen. The thugs leader threw the stun stick at the kid with the accuracy of years of practice. It was a great move, not many expect a melee weapon like that to become ranged. Plus if the goal of the fight was to beat and humiliate a target, swinging a stun stick would end it too quickly. The point of the cylinder hit Aqeel square in the sternum, it unloaded its charge into the kid's torso. Not maintaining contact enough to take him out but more than enough to stagger. The kid bumped the bar, causing the heavy liquer bottles above him to shift. That was all Mir-Atash needed to see to end this before anyone got seriously hurt. He reached up with the Force and grabbed the three heaviest bottles. He pulled them down and added some energy as the impacted the kid's head. Two would have been enough to knock him out, the third was to be sure.

As Aqeel staggered into the bar, he felt the bottles falling towards him before they hit him. The unexpected feeling caught him off guard and he didn't even think to move out of the way as they fell. The third one hit him, but he didn't feel it. At least not until he opened his eyes a few minutes later. Recovering from the blows, he stood to regard his surroundings.

The thugs were gone. The old man sat beside the young man outside the bar. He had clearly been the one that had brought the kid outsaide and had been waiting for him to come back to the land of the living. So kid... How does tonight rate on your scale of fun evenings? The old man hands the kid a gel pack that would get very cold when activated. For your head, you have a concussion.

Aqeel takes the gel, knowing all too well what it's for and activates it. "On a scale of one to ten? A six, maybe? Hard to say, I don't remember a lot of them." He puts the gel pack to his head and let's out a short sigh. Aqeel was getting tired of failing to make contacts.
The universe is a lonely place when nobody knows you. He thought.

Aqeel thought for a moment before answering. "I guess I could have refused to fight and tried to talk to them." He wasn't sure if the old man was asking about this particular incident or not, but didn't want to give more information than what the man had asked for.

Yes big drunk punks looking for fights always back down when you talk to them. I will ask again, where did you go wrong? His voice firm, but not menacing. The old man was looking off at the lights of the city as he spoke. I didn't ask what you could do different. What caused things to go south. He could sense the younth's general confusion and wandering. Not just for the night, but his life at the moment. It was for this reason the old jedi was deliberately vague.

Jacob awoke with a start from a world of dark dreams to an equally dark one. Not because it was late at night and the Limo was dark. It was quite the opposite in fact. It was the middle of the day, the sun was high in the sky. But Jacob could still see nothing, in a traditional sense anyway. He had been blind for almost fifteen years now. A scar ran straight across his eyes that was proof of where he had been struck. The last thing he had seen was darkness. Which was quite poetic considering that was all he would ever see again. With his eyes anyway.
With the right training, he had been able to gain back a certain sort of vision. Where one's physical eyes could deceive them, the Force could not. He saw nothing and yet everything. For that, he had his Mother's training to thank. She had taught him how to focus his power to heighten his senses and see once more. It might not have been a proper recovery. But it had enabled him to still live his life and not be held back.
Jacob concentrated on calming himself as he thought upon what he had been dreaming about. It had been fractured memories, but they were of the moment he had lost his eyesight and the day he had left. Well, was taken away. He'd had no real choice in the matter, when his Mother had just packed up and left with him. Taking him away from his Father and Sister"Evie..." When he had left, she was but a little girl. Just as he had been a young boy. But a decade and a half had passed since then. And in that time he had grown up a lot. He was certain the same was true for her. As for their Father. Well, Jacob couldn't remember much of the man. But if his Mother's warnings were anything to go by, then the man was not to be trusted. In fact, she would have had a fit that he was going to visit the man. Had she been alive. But she wasn't. Without her, his Father and Evie were the only two people left.
The Limousine passed through the durasteel gates leading into the Aquilla Family estate, located in the outer suburbs of the city. The house was located on about four hectares of land, with all sorts of amenities located within. As the vehicle reached the top of the drive way, it came to a stop at the end of a line of maids and servants forming a precession to the front doors "Thanks. Wish me luck..." The driver gave a nod as Jacob grabbed his hat and cane before exiting the vehicle. He kept his head lowered as he put the hat on, before resting against the cane. A pair of servants were already busy unloading his luggage. But his attention was upon the two figures at the doors. His Father didn't seem to have aged a day since he had left. But the person to his left however, had certainly grown up. He slowly raised his head then, not that it allowed him to see any better. It was more so they could see his face "Father... Evie..."

Fifteen years he'd been gone and now he was coming back. Evie had only been thirteen when their Mother had ran away with Jacob. Leaving her alone to suffer their Father's wroth. She had only been a child back then, unable to comprehend fully what had happened. But as she had grown older, she started to understand. She still found no fault in her actions. At least not up to the point of having been caught by their Mother. Their Father had warned her not to be caught as he encouraged her feelings.
At the time, she had put it down to him understanding her reasoning. Which, in her mind made sense. They had been born and raised together. So why should they not also be together. Especially when you rely on the person you are with the most. And when Jacob had been blinded, he had relied on her to help him. It had made her happy in those days being relied upon by him. But that had all changed when they had been sitting in the shade one afternoon. She had thought their Mother was out when she leaned over and kissed Jacob. She quickly learned otherwise, when their Mother had appeared at the back door.
Their parents had fought viciously that night. Not long after, their Mother took Jacob and disappeared. Their Father took his rage out on her that first night. Furious that she had been caught. She could still remember the pain he had caused her. She shuddered just thinking about it, as she brought her arms up across her chest. Holding herself as she took several deep breaths. She knew she had to calm herself as she stood next to her Father at the head of the procession of house staff. She straightened up a moment later.
It wasn't the only time he had taken her though. For after that, he had claimed her as his own play thing. As punishment for their Mother leaving. Whilst also training her as his apprentice. Teaching her how to harness feelings to access the dark side of the Force. Moulding her into his own assassin as he trained her how to kill and meld into the shadows. Her fear of his retribution the only thing keeping her in line. For although she knew he would still take her. He could always be more rough with her and punish her more harshly.
But at the same time. He could continue to punish her to no end. At least if his hope was to ever try and conceive a new heir with her. In her own act of revenge against his actions, she had made sure she would never fall pregnant. Meaning he would be stuck with her and Jacob as his legacy.
Her attention was soon upon the limousine as it came into view up the driveway. The staff snapped to attention as her Brother drew closer. She still had no idea why he had come back after all these years. All her Father had told her, was that Jacob was coming and what he expected of her. She was to act as if everything was normal and give nothing away. Which was what she intended to do. She owed nothing to Jacob. He had left her here with their Father.
As the vehicle came to a stop, the Servants and Maids gave a bow. A couple of the staff were already busy retrieving the luggage, when Jacob stepped out of the rear door. As she studied him, she was actually quite impressed. Her Brother had certainly grown up in the intervening years. But as she noticed the cane, she was reminded that one thing had definitely remained the same about him. A point driven firmly home moments later when he had raised his face to address them both. Sure, he still looked familiar over all. But that scar was the one thing that had remained unchanged with time. It was enough to cause her to falter in her resolve slightly "Jacob..." The name was barely whispered by her. And thankfully it had gone unnoticed, since their Father's attention had been upon Jacob. She glanced at him then, seeing the smile creep across his face "Jacob! My dear boy! Welcome home..."

Whilst their Father might have not heard Evie speak, it did not go unnoticed by Jacob. Whilst his sight had gone, his other senses had improved from his reliance upon them. This was further improved by his skill with the Force. He took a couple steps forward then, using his cane to check for any obstacles. Although he didn't really need it since he could see with the force, it provided a good cover. He didn't want to give away anything. Not until he knew whether he could trust his Father fully or not. Evie on the other hand. Well he was fairly confident he could trust her implicitly. At least more so than he could trust their Father.
Plenty of time had passed since then for their Father to have become a far worse man than the stories their Mother had told him. He came to a stop a few feet later. Their Father's welcome seemed very cheerful. But something about it unnerved him slightly. He could feel Evie trying to calm herself. Perhaps something had happened before he had arrived. Or perhaps she was on edge because of his arrival. His grip upon the cane tightened slightly as he studied their Father. Trying to get a good read on the man as he stood there for a moment "Thank you Father... You've put on quite the show, I think..." He could almost feel some improvement in his Father's mood. It was clear the man was seemingly pleased that Jacob was still apparently blind. The man took a couple slow steps forward, closing the gap between them "I had suspected as much. So I erred on the side of caution and kept things small..." Jacob might have laughed if he wasn't trying to get a measure of what was going on here. But if lining up all the staff was the man's idea of a small welcoming, he wasn't quite sure what it would be like if he had gone all out. He turned slightly then, setting his focus towards Evie. He knew what his play here would have to be "I wonder if perhaps I might borrow Evie as a guide... I fear I might trip over or run into something..." He sensed their Father stop then. Turning slightly towards Evie, giving her a warning stare before returning his attention to Jacob. He almost wasn't sure his gambit had played out like he had hoped. It was possible their Father was weighing up whether to instead insist one of the staff help him. It would have been the more logical move. But then their Father nodded his head slightly "Of course. It makes sense you would wish to spend some time with your sister after being apart so long. So by all means. She can also give you a tour of the house and ensure you don't injure yourself whilst you're here..."

Evie kept her attention upon Jacob. Her azure gaze watching every step he took as he made his way along the procession of staff members. His walking stick making a soft click against the pavers as he checked for any obstacles. Each one was like another shot fired at her iron clad heart, as a small voice deep within started to grow louder. Begging her to step forward and take his arm. So that she could help him as she once had.
But she remained firmly planted beside their Father. Knowing that if she disobeyed him, her punishment would be severe. And even if his treatment of her was terrible now. She knew he could do far worse things to her if the mood struck him. Something she had experienced first hand many times over the years when her short-comings had become apparent. That or when he had been in a foul mood.
Scars marked her body from her Father's fury. While she still bore the fading bruises from his last assault on her. All of it hidden beneath her clothing worn more out of necessity than actual choice. Not that she outright disliked the outfit. Since it provided both functional protection and accentuated her sexual appeal. The latter of which allowed her to get closer to her targets.
She was quickly pulled back to reality as Jacob spoke with their Father. Sensing the same improvement in their Father's mood as Jacob had. And feeling as equally as perturbed as her brother did. Not that she allowed any sign of such to show upon her face as she matched the man's steps forward.
Her heart skipped a beat then, as Jacob turned slightly towards her. Feeling his unseeing gaze focus upon her. A feeling she had started to miss after all these years.
Feeling a brief sense of dread pass over her, as Jacob asked if she could help him around. Perhaps because he had heard the voice crying out deep within her. Or out of necessity for his own reasons. In either case, she turned her head slightly to regarded their Father. The look he gave her conveying all the warning she needed.
Betray him and suffer his wrath.
She turned back to Jacob as their Father granted his request. And while her Brother had held his doubts about what their Father's response would be. She knew this worked perfectly into their Father's grander plan. Not only to learn more of why Jacob had returned, but why he had done it alone. And also learn whether Jacob might be turned as she had been turned.
She moved forward to her brother's side then. Slipping her arm under and around his arm. Her gaze meeting their Father's once more "It would be my pleasure. I'll be sure to have him done by lunch..." Their Father reached into his pocket then, as his datapad made an alert noise. The man quickly reading the message that showed up on the screen, before looking to Evie "It appears I have some business to attend to. I shall meet you both for dinner..." And like that, he moved past them and got into the limousine. Taking off to handle what ever business he had just been informed about. Evie nodded her head, dismissing the assembled staff to go back to their regular duties "Let's start this tour... There is somewhere special I have in mind to go first..." Evie brought her left hand up to rest upon Jacobs arm as she lead him the rest of the way along the path. Guiding the way as she lead him through the house and out into the back garden. Coming to a stop as they reached a stone bannister that acted as a safety rail along the back porch. Providing a raised view across the small garden area where they had spent their time as children. The tree they had been caught under that day sitting where it always was. A constant reminder of her mistake "I know you can't see it... But you know where we are, don't you?"
