The rest of his day was working with the new officers that made up what little of a senior leadership could be mustered. These individuals included the Wookiee Commodore Gaarburra, his second-in-command, the Quarren Captain Toerr, followed by Captain Knaevan, a female Bothan, that led the Starfighter Corps, then there was Kelavand, Colonel of his troops, and then lastly, his trusted Commander Fallas, that headed up the Intelligence division. It was a lot work on a daily basis since his arrival to Bothuwai. They were doing their best to piece things together, make stuff work, and get everything back into order. Morale was low after all and many were just tired and hungry, but they did their best to keep things moving forward.
Later that day, Graemon stopped at the memorial that was due to be sent out into space in a few days. Already, some new trinkets, tokens, and names were added to the scrap metal of one of their defunct vessels. Looking at it, the Fondorian was happy that he never would be adding the names of his brother, Valerian, any of his family, nor his wife, Lynne. Stars blessed him with ensuring his loved ones were kept safe... and yet, his brother-in-arms, Braganti Gates, died for the cause and they were without his genius now. After a time of reflection, the Baron returned to his apartments.
Hm, a holovid was what Lynne asked for. Gods, what could he scrap up? Looking through his datapad, Graemon found so many they had already watched. Perhaps one too many times. Flipping through them, the Baron found the drama known as 'The Warrior Empress', a highly dramatized story about the mythical founder of Empress Tetan monarchy, Teta. It was an Old Republic drama that detailed the Unification Wars, just on the cusp of the Great Hyperspace War. A lot of heroes, villains, and the usual drama. Something uplifting, at least he thought so.
By the time Lynne had returned, food was ordered from the mess and brought up by Graemon. The Bothans had been generous in ensuring they were fed. It wasn't Corellian food, but it was still just good to have a meal. While below, Graemon had taken the opportunity to check in on the people and make sure they were okay. Everyone seemed... just happy to be alive, comfortable, and able to eat.

Lynne was pleased to find her orders had been heeded. And she approved of the vid. It was easy to watch and had an uplifting spirit to it, perfect for her to cuddle up with Graemon after they had finished the meal. She couldn't help but feel safe in Graemon's arms, even if they were in temporary housing and just recovering from a rout. Here, she was safe and at peace. Perhaps a little too much so, as she was already asleep before the credits began to roll. It was refreshing, for the second night in a row, she didn't have a single nightmare.

A few days later, the dedication to the deceased and missing would occur. Within one of the open dockyards, the survivors of both fleets, remnants of the civilian population that escaped, and exiled politicians gathered to send forth the slab of metal that bore their dedications. The service began with a few words spoken by the Baron Gorgano on a message of comfort, hope, and salvation. That they would find a way forward in these dark times and ensure the sacrifices of those before would not be in vain. After that, holoprojectors began to flash images of those who were no longer with them. This took some time, considering the immense loss of life. When it was all done, a pair of XJ7s flew into the hangar and took the slab of metal to the far edge of the system, where it was let go and let to drift into the void.
============================
Afterward, Graemon, with his wife, would go up to the command bridge of his newly acquired flagship, the MC140 Ardent Resolve. There, command persons of both their staffs gathered as Commander Fallas had some news. A report was revealed, found by Bothan SpyNet, of an incident at Bespin. They were still trying to gain holorecordings but it reported of an incident that happened between two groups of individuals, one of which were clearly Imperials. It seemed the First Order had established a presence there. Local police forces were still dealing with the mess that seemed to involve a blaster fight.
Get me names or images of them, Fallas. I know the Bothans are good at what they do.
Fallas nods his head.
Seems there are others organizing out there... question is who are they and where are they.
Graemon scratches his beard slightly as he looks over the report. A copy had been given to Lynne to review.
We could send probes and some of our fighters out to the systems around Bespin. Maybe see if we can find a scent and then a trail.

Lynne studied the data handed to her, it was certainly... unconventional, but since when had the scrappy underdogs ever gotten to be anything but. Bespin... Wait isn't that near... Yes! We may want to send probes to the Hoth system. At the very least we can see if the old base there is occupied, and if not we could use it for our own. Lynne knew that Hoth couldn't be a permanent solution, but it could serve as a base from which to get reorganized and out of the Bothans fur.

Graemon thinks for a moment as Lynne made her suggestion. Hoth was the likely system, considering its history. However...
It could prove to be too obvious.
But, then again, the obvious choice may be what they are going for.
We will send a squadron out to Bespin and get further details. Then follow the trail from there if possible.
There were certainly plenty of options in that region of space.
Lynne, how is your fleet and crew looking now?

Lynne looked to Graemon and gave a determined nod as she replied to the question. We're still short a few replacements, but who we have are ready and eager to get back out there. Democracy isn't going to win itself.

The eagerness and determination of the crews certainly helped. When confirmation was made that it was Vaughan Emrys and a new ally, General Endor, efforts were made to ensure the Free Worlds Navy and Lynne's Medical Fleet were prepared and ready to deploy and aid them. For now, Graemon committed some starfighter squadrons to assist the New Rebel Alliance while the recruits and volunteers were trained properly. However, there was a daunting task before him and one that certainly kept the Baron awake.
Negotiations had begun with the leading party of the Bothan government and the head of the SpyNet to secure the resources, manpower, finances, and industry of Bothuwai for the Rebel cause. Certainly, there were plenty that remembered how their ancestors and forebears aided the old Rebel Alliance as well as the New Republic and the Galactic Alliance. Those contributions were never forgotten and Graemon hoped that it would rekindle the desire to see democracy reign supreme. However, there were certainly stalwart isolationist and Imperial sympathetic elements within the government, just as there were in the Coalition's Senate. It had become a rather hotly debated topic that went back and forth daily.
Graemon, one afternoon, sat in the apartment loaned to him and his wife as the Baron reviewed the recent debate. It was still relatively even despite his best efforts to bring people around. Slowly, he scratches his bearded chin and sighs heavily. Leaning back, the Baron rubs his eyes and proceeds to rest his head on the back of the couch. Politics was always a messy ordeal... always.

Lynne returned from the kitchen, carrying a pair of plates with the meal she had prepared while her husband focused on his work. She did her best to make the rationed food as reminiscent of their previous life as she could. But it put her already somewhat limited cooking skills to the test. But all the same it was her turn tonight, and so she sat the plate down in front of Graemon before joining him on the sofa, kissing him on the cheek before starting in on her own food. Eat, no sense fretting over all this on an empty stomach. Much better to fret with food in you.

Graemon sees the plate of rationed food before him. He may have been born into luxury, as a nobleman, but he was used to the military grade food. Many times, the Baron recalled the rations of his time in the Navy. Those were better times, that's for sure. The Fondorian picks up the plate, taking a couple bites before looking at Lynne. An old joke that had brought them together crossed his mind as Graemon speaks it.
Doctor's orders, right?
The male chuckles through his teeth as he grins before eating a bit more. Chewing quietly, Graemon looks over the reports and messages.
Vaughan would have loved this type of work. But he is apparently focusing on his Republic of Haven, situated over Anoth.
Graemon keys a small holoprojector, bringing up the intel through the New Rebel Alliance and SpyNet.
It's start, and will be a long climb, but it's a start nonetheless.

You know me so well. Lynne chuckled along with Graemon as he spoke her catchphrase. She exhaled deeply as she looked over the projection that the Fondorian had brought up. Thoughtfully she looked at the information presented before nodding in agreement. We still have a lot of work, but let's not discount the progress we've made considering where we were not long ago... I'd say we're doing very well. She leaned in and planted another kiss on her husband. Thanks to you.

That kiss, and any for that matter, was always welcomed! Seeing the Baron and the Doctor happy together had brightened the moods of the crews and the civilians that followed their fleets. Even now, some among the rank and file were coining the term 'Power Couple of the Rebellion'. A long title, but it certainly was being circulated and causing a good mood for all. A welcomed change since they had all managed to crawl to Bothuwai and gain some respite from what had happened.
No, Lynne, it's thanks to you.
His large hands grasps hers within a firm grip, having set everything aside.
You have renewed my vigor and determination. Without you... I would be adrift and stuck in limbo, unable to do anything. I would be a detriment to those who followed me and a sorry sight to be behold. Your safety brought me what I needed to renew all that I was before.
A smile appears within his bearded face, one of those rare ones that Lynne was able to garner.
So much to do though... I wonder how I manage this so far.
His eyes now turn to all the worked to be done.

Lynne was always thankful to see a smile on her husbands face. She knew he was happy where she was concerned but he was constantly under loads of stress that, where these normal times, would have warranted her ordering him on a sabbatical for his own health. But in these extraordinary times, she would have to settle for kisses and time together on the couch. Her hand cupped one of Graemon's cheeks as he talked to her about his sorry state before they had reunited. It brought small tears to her eyes, not enough to spill over, but enough to make her blue eyes shine with love and hope. She kissed him again. I love you, Graemon. And I will always find my way back to you, I promise. Another long kiss. But now that this meeting of the greatest power couple in rebel history since Leia and Han is called to order: What do I need to do? I can get down planetside and lead some recruitment drives, I can stay here and keep a finger on the pulse of moral, or whatever load you need me to take off your shoulders... I'm here.

Ever thankful was the Baron towards the willingness of his wife to helping him. This was a team effort after all and Graemon wouldn't want Lynne being bored or feeling like she wasn't doing enough. Truth be told, he was worried and concerned deep down. He didn't want a repeat of before where he was separated by his wife by a hostile force and her fate unknown. Still, it was a risk given the business they were involving themselves in. And it was better they worked together than Graemon trying to protect Lynne from the uncertain and unpredictable.
It would be prudent to expand the medical corps.
This was her expertise after all.
After all, it won't be us who the medical personnel will be providing services to. It needs to be able to handle and meet the needs of this new alliance.
Graemon looks at Lynne, patting her hand gently as he continued to hold it.
I'd see if the Bothans can provide some means to help expand your operations. Perhaps even get in touch with General Endor and see what they need.

Without a government or official channels of recruitment, every soldier or crewperson lost would be hard to replace. So having Lynne's medical corp as robust and well staffed as possible would be vital. Not even including aiding any refugees and non-combatants caught in the crossfire. She knew most of the Bothans who would sign up with this ragtag group already had, but she could still fundraise and even possibly sway some who were still on the fence. The trick was not getting on the bad side of the local government from poaching their people for the cause. Lynne squeezed Graemon's hand before letting go and getting up to begin reaching out to the Bothan contacts she had made while living in orbit. I'll make sure we have the best ship-bound medical facilities in the Galaxy!

He knew that this task would put Lynne in good spirits. She did what she did best and that was healing, ensuring a wounded soldier or a civilian in the wrong place was given comfort and the means to recuperate. The New Rebel Alliance would need good doctors, support staff, medical supplies, and all of it well organized to thrive and do what it needed to do: bring the fight to the Empire. It would quite the uphill battle, but they'd manage somehow.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to ensure the fleet is prepared to house the wounded. You will need the space for them and less for guards.
Graemon remarks as his gaze looks once more upon the mess of work he had at his hands.
I intend to start patrolling here soon. The starfighter pilots need the lessons and experience. Especially considering how green they are.
Military drills were well underway and the new staff of officers were adjusting to their positions and getting the crews in order. A lot of work to do before the Free Worlds Navy was ready to be dispatched and aid their allies once more. The Baron wasn't going to risk anything just yet. Not till they were ready.
In the mean time... more meetings with the Bothan government.
The Baron sighs as he leans back, rubbing one of his eyes. Meetings with the sympathetic party and trying to win over the opposing and neutral ones.
