Pandath, capital city and jewel of Taanab. It was not as glamaorous as most cities, but it was grand. It had been witness to everything from war, to secret organizations, and even coups. It held no towering structures, but it had an ancient aura which mesmerized the eye. It played host to businessman and farmer alike. Although Taanaab was purely an agricultural planet, it took care of its jewel...
Teroch took another long drag from his Taanabian ale. It was a strong beverage, too potent for any not accustomed to it, though to those who were, nothing tasted quite as well. He sloshed the liquid around, in his mouth, for several seconds to savor the flavor. After a loud gulp, he slammed the mug down on the table, startling the man seated across from him. "Well Tarwyn, what news?"
High Aid Jayden Tarwyn was the right hand man of Taanab's leader, High Lord Shiktu Adith. He had bribed, weaseled, and assassinated his way in to his current position. Despite having a very formidable reputation, he was deep in debt with Teroch. On top of the hundreds of thousands of credits he owed the Mandalorian, he also owed him a life debt. Teroch had saved his life nearly three years ago during a business deal gone awry. He served Teroch until both debts were considered paid in full.
Tarwyn quickly regained his composure, sitting up straight before responding to his boss. His voice was smooth and lucid, as was any skilled politicians. "The plan is progressing well sir. I suspect we shall be ready to launch the next phase by the end of the week, provided you have attained the backing of the Godwins." Tarwyn had dealt with many dangerous and shady characters before in his long career, but none had scared him as much as Teroch. Something about the man always set him on edge. Perhaps it was the fact he had never been able to obtain even the slightest shred of information about the man, not even a rumor.
Teroch grinned, pushing his mug to the edge of the table as the cocktail waitress approached. She gave him a slight wink before filling his mug. As she walked away, Teroch watched for several long moments as the attractive Twi'lek woman made her way across the room. It seemed he would be finishing his day off with pleasure after business. He turned back to his guest, the grin still upon his face. "Do not worry about the Godwins, they will not be a problem. If you disrespect me again, I will cut off your ear and graph it to your ass, got it di'kute?"
Tarwyn swallowed loudly before quickly apoligizing. "I am sorry sir, I meant no disrespect. I only wanted to be sure everything was running smoothly. If this plan backfires, it will be my head."
In the blink of an eye, Teroch grabbed his vibroblade from his belt, slamming it on the table, inches from Tarwyn's index finger. "It is me you should be worried about...old friend." He twisted the knife slowly, allowing his point to sink in. "Now, you will find the case in the usual spot. Do not mess this next part up or I swear to you your head will be the least of your worries." He place the blade back in to it's sheath, settling back in his booth. "Now, run along and play, I have other matters to attend to."
Tarwyn knew better then to ask, though he highly suspected the Mandalorian was referring to the young waitress that had recently passed. He stood, bowing slightly before making his way out of the cantina. He made sure his hood was still up before heading down a back alley. He decided this area of the city, known as "Dark Town", a tribute to its constant host to shady dealings, would be his first project after he the plan was complete...

The holonet, in all of Pandath, suddenly switched to the EAS, Emergency Announcement System. A human in a pressed suit sat behind a desk, the crest of the ruling house behind him. His tone was serious when he spoke.
"This is Dean Sherwin with an emergency announcement system broadcast. Another expolsion has rocked the trade district only moments earlier. All residents are asked to stay inside and lock all access points. This is the third explosion in a month, for those of you just now having access to a holonet. We go now to our fied reporter Trisha Coldwell, Trisha."
The screen pans back, half the screen panning to a video of the young Twi'lek reporter. "Thank you Dean. I am standing in the Third Trade District, just outside of the Trader's Square where a bomb went off only moments earlier. As you can see, emergency personnel is only just beginning to arrive. We have been told trade had been closed for close to three hours previous to the blast. Hopefully there were no stragglers or late night workers. Despite these terroist attacks, there has surprisingly been no loss of life, though there has been significant damage. So far totals are estimated to be in the millions of credits."
The reoprter notices a man shouting orders, clearly someone in charge. She quickly makes her way to him, the camera never losing her. "Excuse me, Lieutenant. This makes the third attack in under a month, what are authorities doing about it?"
The lieutenant looked at the woman, his face red from shouting. "I have no comment, though rest assured, we are going to catch these terroists. Now move back behind the line before I have you locked up for interfering in a police investigation."
The young reporter quickly moved away, being sure to angle herself so the explosion, and the lieutenant shouting orders, were in the background of the shot. "Well there you have it Dean. I am Trisha Coldwell for the Emergency Announcment System. Back to you Dean."
The picture once again turned to full screen, the anchorman staring at the camera intently. "Thank you Trisha. Despite the assurance of the fine Lieutenant, many are asking what exactly the authorities are doing about these rash of attacks. Much of the blame has been shifting toward High Lord Shiktu Adith. His leniant stance toward the justice system, as well as most recent legislation by parliment increasing his families assets and claim to power, has made him the prime target of opposing factions. Petitions have already been started for the immediate abdication of his title, and in some of the more radical factions, his incarceration. We go now to High Aid Jayden Tarwyn, Aid Tarwyn."
Jayden was sitting behind a white marble desk, a light blue backdrop behind him. "Thank you for having me Dean, I hear you loud and clear."
The screen once again switched to a two sided view, Dean on the left, and Jayden on the right. "Tell me Aid, what is actually being done about these attacks?"
Jayden sat with his hands atop one another on the desk, his posture straight and perfect. "I am afraid the specifics are classified, but I can tell you we are doing everything we can to reign in these terroists."
"I see. I apoligize for being blunt, but the fact is this is the third attack in under a month, and not only does it seem like the authorities are no closer to catching this cell, but the High Lord doesn't even seem concerned."
Jayden cleared his throat before speaking. "I can not speak for the High Lord, I am only his aid. I can ssure you, however, that I myself am personally spear heading this investigation, and we are closing in on the group responsible. As I said, I can not reveal specifics, but I am confident we will have them in no longer then a week."
Dean grinned a bit at the reply."That is a bold statement Aid, especially considering this most recent attack. I would like tot ouch on another subject, if I may. Many of the oppisition factions seem to be leaning toward your candidacy for the title of High Lord, despite your serving of High Lord Adith. Some might find this rather suspicious that these attacks occured so close to election run and your taking charge of the investigation."
Jayden let out a short laugh. "That is an absurd allegation Dean. The fact that my name is being thrown in the debate is not of my doing. My focus has been, and still is on this investigation. It is outrageous to even begin to think I had anything to do with these attacks, and I can assure you the High Lord has my full support. Now, I am sorry, but I have othe rmatters to attend to."
"Thank you for your time Aid." The picture once again returned to a full screen of the anchor. "Well there you have it folks. The government assures us the crisis is being handled, despite no hard facts to back it up. We can only pray that no more attacks occur, and count our blessings that no one has been injured. Thank you for your time, I am Dean Sherwin for the emergency Announcement System."
Teroch laughed as he dimmed his holoscreen, his silk top sheet sliding down his bare chest. He looked over to see the young Twi'lek waitress, from the cantina, beginning to stir. He rolled to his side, caressing her shoulder, his hand slowly snaking to her chest. Things were all going according to plan. Soon Jayden would be the High Lord, and Teroch would control everything. He grinned as he rolled on top of the young woman, spreading her legs with his own. The power was all his...
