True. But you're staying in the precinct. And no, I'm not going to be in some alley. Not by a long shot.

-39- "The taxi is soon outside. Lets go."
They went outside, registering out of the precinct in the lobby and the taxi just pulled up as they exited. Getting in, she continued... he was her boss, and also a good friend, at least from her side. The way she had built this relationship, she was supposed to care for him. That is why she pestered him.
-39- "What... what happens after? You stakeout, you see something and come back right? Just look and see and then call in the boys with the big guns, right? No heroics?"

Clas'una had no intention of getting in over his head, so he shook his head. No heroics. If I seen anything, I call in Janco'balt and his SWAT teams. I don't think I could get a quick response from our own department.
He was assuming, of course, that when this mysterious crew saw him, they didn't shoot him with a sniper round.

Twenty minutes later, Una and the secretary arrived at the precinct. He went straight to his car and unlocked the doors. He opened the door and paused, expecting the secretary to have one last thing she wanted to say.

Elav'passik, a thin and wiry blue-skinned Rutian Twi'lek who serves as the leader of Kala'uun's Sesk'vati, massages his right temple wearily as he studies the holoprojections suspended in the air around him and attempts to determine how he can best marshal the resources available to him in order to answer the swift, brutal attack that has befallen his homeworld.
Their foes have, from the frantic reports from the embattled Sesk'vati in Lessu, already all but taken Ryloth's capital city, executing the city's Sai'kora after raining down destruction upon the unprepared city and its citizens before the shield generator could be brought online. At least, Elav thinks as he straightens his shoulders and takes a deep breath, Kala'uun had enough advance warning from the planet's soon to be doomed orbital defenses to bring its own DSS-02 shield generator online. Telling himself that he must not allow events to break his spirit, Elav begins to issue orders to the Sesk'vati under his command in a firm, confident tone; the battle is not over, he reminds himself.
After dispatching two platoons of his Sesk'vati to collect the members of the Council of Kivas, as well as those of the Head Clan so that Ryloth's political leadership can be taken to secure locations, Elav orders those of his Sesk'vati manning the V-180 anti-orbital ion cannon outside of Lessu, as well as it's twin in the Lonely Five Mountains, to begin engaging the enemy ships in orbit. Instructing his comms operator to continue relaying any incoming reports from Lessu to him, Elav grabs his Lyaer'tsa and, as he sets out for the landing pads, issues orders for the Sesk'vati he has chosen to lead to Lessu in an effort to re-take the city to begin boarding their gunships.
Their foes have had the advantage of surprise on their side so far, and have met with only unprepared and disorganized resistance; Elav intends to show them what the Sesk'vati can do when not caught by surprise, a lesson he hopes will end with the complete and utter destruction of Ryloth's attackers.

*Three young Twi'leck girls, one, red, one green and one blue each carrying a lifetime in a sack made there way to an awaiting shuttle. Looking back over the only home they knew the three stood jaws agape. After a long gaze the red one smacked the green one on the shoulder and dragging the last behind her into the craft. The Hanger shut and the shuttle picked up and was gone*

Warat'nercathi - a short, squat, and burly purple skinned Tyrian Twi'lek who is one of the five Sou'koras that comprise the Head Clan serving as Ryloth's political leadership - had initially considered himself fortunate to have been in Kala'uun when the invading force began it's campaign by attacking Lessu, but had later found himself wishing he had in fact been in Lessu; for he not only finds it maddening to be impatiently waiting for the reports from the Sesk'vati in Lessu to trickle in and then be relayed to him, but also feels the restlessness of being denied the opportunity to act in any useful way beyond offering what counsel he can to the Sesk'vati.
Fortunately for him, and his fellow Sou'koras, all have been located and secured by the Sesk'vati, with a few suffering only mild injuries. Had any one of the Sou'koras perished, tradition would demand that the others be cast into the Bright Lands to join them in death. Unfortunately, the Head Clan is scattered, and the battle raging in Lessu has made any effort to communicate in order to coordinate and forge any kind of plan difficult at best. For his part, Warat'nercathi had argued that the Head Clan would serve Ryloth best by stepping back and allowing the Sesk'vati to wage their campaign without interference; for should the Sesk'vati fail, all will be lost. Warat'nercathi, however, turned his attention to the future, optimistically foreseeing that the Sesk'vati would prevail and repel the invading force, and to how the Head Clan could best serve the people of Ryloth in the battle's aftermath. With the utter collapse of the Republic, Ryloth will have no allies to call upon as they did when last their homeworld suffered an attack upon Lessu, and so Warat'nercathi knows that all relief and reconstruction efforts will need to come from Ryloth's own resources.
Warat'nercathi is undaunted, however bleak the situation may seem, for he has faith in Ryloth's people, and knows many influential, talented, wealthy, and resourceful members of the various castes whom he trusts will answer the Head Clan's call when the time comes to rebuild and offer relief to the citizens of Lessu. Ryloth has survived attacks and invasions before, and Warat'nercathi is certain that his homeworld and his people will survive this latest incursion as well.

Valsil'mobok, the Sai'kora - or head - of Kala'uun, had achieved his position, as many successful members of the political - or Sesk'bumat - caste have, by learning to always temper his personal ambitions with the desire to actually fulfill his duties to his people; having seen how his father before him had managed to accumulate both great wealth and prestige by doing so himself.
The recent attack on Lessu proves to be a welcome opportunity for Valsil'mobok to both genuinely help his people and to fatten his own personal coffers while doing so. By organizing a massive relief effort that sees members of the Sesk'kevsa - or merchant and craftsmen castes - and Sesk’nablin - or laborer - castes of Kala'uun and other smaller cities such as Leb'Reen and Resdin coming together to provide much needed construction and other labor as well as the transportation and distribution of donated foodstuffs and other goods to the citizens of Lessu, Valsil'mobok is an active participant in the relief and reconstruction effort; while his behind the scenes arrangements with members of the Sesk'kevsa and Sesk'nablin castes, specifically handing the choicest of jobs to those willing to demonstrate their gratitude in the form of promised future favors, credits or other gifts, allow him to further his own ambitions and dreams while doing so.

Having traveled to Ryloth after a message was sent from Suman, whom he and his crew had encountered on Taris, to meet with associates of the criminal organization the Davaronian was a member of, Razmik sets his Nemesis-class patrol ship down and, as he begins shutting down the systems not needed for the post-flight checks, says, "Armin, Wenqian, you two head out and keep watch for Suman's friends while Alessia and I finish the post-flight. I have a feeling the meeting will be taking place here rather than in the cantina, the undercover Sector Ranger explains calmly in his refined Coruscanti accent and with an amused grin that suggests he does not find the prospect of having the circumstances of their meeting with the Devaronian's associates altered distressing. Arriving unexpectedly is probably a trait of the organization rather than of Suman alone," Razmik concludes.
As Wenqian and Armin make their way aft to head down the boarding ramp to find out whether or not Razmik's suspicions are correct, Alessia, a small framed, blonde haired Morganian, asks, "Think this'll turn out to be anything?"
After a pause in which he considers the question, Razmik nods and says, "It seems rather likely. An operation large enough to have a presence like the one we witnessed on Taris has to be something, wouldn't you agree?"

A pair of human males, dressed in loose fitting, lightweight clothing similar to that worn by native Twi'lek males, sent ahead by Sinya'gella, Mazer'kairn's lieutenant based in Kala'uun, make their way towards the Gledalac after observing the Nemesis-class patrol ship setting down.
Brizio, shorter than his red-haired companion, addresses the two crew members that have been sent to watch for their arrival in a calm voice free from any discernible accent or tone that betrays any hint of his personal feelings where the matters at hand are concerned, "We're here to bring Razmik and one associate to meet with our employer. All weapons stay here with the ship. Those are non-negotiable, so let Razmik know if he can't accept them, he can turn right back around. We'll wait for him out here," Brizio concludes patiently, taking a step back after lifting his hands in front of him as though to convey that nothing else needs be said until Razmik, who he knows is not present outside since he was given a description from Suman, arrives.

Grinning cheerily after Brizio has completed his little speech, Wenqian says, "Groovy," and leans casually against one of the boarding ramp's struts after motioning for Armin to play messenger.
Razmik, having chosen to bring Alessia along to the meeting, walks down the boarding ramp not long afterwards, and after making a show of handing his T-6 "Thunderer" over to Armin, lifts his arms while approaching the humans and says nonchalantly in his refined Coruscanti accent, "I assume you'll want to search us, while Alessia hands her DT-57 over to Armin and lifts her hands as she walks over to join Razmik, before we depart?"

Motioning for his companion to frisk Alessia, Brizio asks, "Aren't you the clever one? without any humor. After the Razmik and Alessia have been searched, Brizio shoves the Coruscanti ahead of his and says, Alright, let's go."
Neither human says anything further as they escort the alleged smugglers through the starport and to Mal'aa's Kitchens. Once inside, Brizio shoves Razmik along to a corner table where a female Twi'lek sits, watched over by a menacing pair of Gamoreans that look more intelligent than most pig-lizards tend to look.
Smiling pleasantly as she lifts her hands to point to the two chairs across from hers, Sinya'gella says, "Please, take a seat. Would you like anything to drink? After the question of refreshments has been settled, Sinya leans back in her seat languidly as she says, Now then, let's get down to business, shall we? Tell me a bit about your crew, your ship, and your experience with . . . imports and exports."

After taking his seat beside Alessia and across from the female Twi'lek they are here to meet with, Razmik leans back in his chair with the refined, casual elegance one would expect of an upper class Coruscanti, theatrically brushing some non-existent lint from his pants while shaking his head to decline the offer of drinks.
Smiling after asked to speak of his crew, ship, and experience, Razmik answers just as cheerily as though he is speaking to an old friend. Having operated undercover as extensively as he has, Razmik knows his cover story as well as he knows his true personal history, and also knows that no true smuggler would reveal anything incriminating to someone they do not know well enough to trust to some degree, and so sticks to surface details and vague statements that merely hint at what is actually being discussed. "My crew and I have been together long enough that we work together like the proverbial well-oiled machine. We're like family, you might even say. Our ship is, as I'm sure you've been made aware, a Nemesis-class patrol ship. Cargo capacity of 5 tons, passenger capacity of 10. We have extensive experience in both discreet importation and exportation. Lifting a hand and jovially concluding with a joke, Razmik says, References are, naturally, available upon request."

Sinya'gella laughs as though amused by Razmik's bantering conclusion to his rather vague answer to her opening inquiries, though the laughter is not at all evident in her eyes were one to watch them closely. "Such a font of information, Sinya says after her laughter has tapered off, and then waves a hand vaguely as she says, Though, that is not necessarily a bad thing, now is it? There is something to be said, after all, in our line of business for one who is able to know when to withhold certain details; just as it is a desirable trait in those we work with to cultivate an ability to be . . . discreet and circumspect. Drumming her fingers along the side of her glass and looking at Razmik as though scrutinizing him and weighing the merits of risking working with him, Sinya is silent for a moment before she says, Well then, I think we might be able to find a use for such a close-knit and finely tuned machine as you claim your crew is. Something, Sinya thinks to herself, that will enable her to test them before entrusting them to anything too terribly valuable or incriminating. How soon would you and yours be free to take on a bit of work?"

Smiling while the Twi'lek woman laughs, Razmik lifts his hands in a gesture that silently asks 'well, what can I say?' when, once her laughter ends, the Twi'lek jokes about the intentional vagueness of his answer. Beneath his confident exterior, the Sector Ranger is relieved that his strategy worked in the situation; while the Twi'lek is clever enough to recognize and accept that his supposed profession is one that does not cultivate openness or trust, others might demand that he be more forthcoming, which could become a problem depending on just how deeply they might dig into the identities and histories that have been created for Razmik and his undercover crew.
Smiling and cheerfully asking, "How soon do you need the spot of work done?" Razmik conveys that he and his crew are ready at any time to do whatever it is the Twi'lek woman has in mind; which, he feels certain, is probably more a test of some kind than an actual job, but a test that will ideally allow him and his fellow Sector Rangers to penetrate whatever organization it is that the Twi'lek works for.

"Answering questions with questions, Sinya'gella observes with an amused laugh, how very, very droll. Pointing a finger at Razmik, the Twi'elk winks as she says, Oh, I do think I will enjoy working with you Mister Grigoryan, so try not to disappoint me. Drumming her fingers on the table as though she needs to consider the matter of what to task the smuggling crew with even though she had selected the trial job before even meeting with them, Sinya pauses before finally saying, Tomorrow morning should do nicely. Get some rest, see the sights, and then be standing by in your berth in the hangar to accept the delivery I will arrange for you and your crew to deliver, she waves a hand vaguely, to somewhere or other to someone or another."

"Something to somewhere? Razmik repeats cheerfully in his refined Coruscanti accent, Who's the droll one now? Laughing good-naturedly, Razmik imitates the Twi'lek, pointing a finger at her as he says, Oh, I think we really will enjoy working together, don't you? Standing, the undercover Sector Ranger says, Tomorrow then," and, with Alessia falling into step beside him, heads back towards the hangar.
Knowing there is a possibility they will be followed and observed, the Sector Rangers don't speak as openly as they otherwise might, Alessia doing her best to watch for any signs that they are being tailed as Razmik comms Armin and tells him and Wenqian to ready the ship for taking on cargo and departing sometime the following day, which he trusts Armin will interpret correctly as an order to ensure that nothing is left laying about which might burn their cover should any of the Twi'lek's associates be aboard their ship at any point.

"Ta ta, Sinya'gella says with a playful wave and an amused smile when Razmik and his silent companion depart. When the pair has departed, Sinya looks over towards a nearby table, its lone occupant concealed by the dim shadows, and says, I want to know where they go, what they do, whether they contact anyone, anything and everything you and your little lizards can learn."
A fat fingered green hand emerges from the shadows, gesturing indolently as a soft, airy voice at odds with the rotund figure that is hinted at as the owner of the hand and voice leans forward to assert, "It will be done. Bril'sivron, a light purple skinned Tyrian Twi'lek possessed of large appetites that match his heavy frame, rises from the table, gathers his simple robes about him, and leaves from a rear exit. One of Bril's many 'lizards', a young male Rutian Twi'lek dressed in tattered, simple garb, is waiting, and scampers off after being given his assignment.
As Razmik and Alessia make their way back to their ship, many eyes will soon be watching them as the word spreads among Bril's network of 'little lizards' that he wishes to learn all he can of the offworlders.

Bril'sivron's 'little lizards' will have little of interest to report; for while it escapes Alessia's notice that a young Twi'lek is often about wheresoever the crew goes throughout the remainder of the day before retiring to the hotel rooms they eventually book for the night given that she, naturally enough, is more alert for adults that appear to be shadowing them, the Sector Rangers are disciplined enough not to break cover at any point, even when they appear to be alone. The report of the crew's movements throughout the day will consist of Wenqian and Armin spending the majority of their time prepping their Nemesis-class patrol ship for embarking the following day, and resupplying the ship's stores; while Razmik and Alessia, under the guise of doing a bit of sight-seeing, get a feel for the city and its inhabitants while watching for any sign that they are being followed with no success given their failure to consider children potential surveillance teams.
After breakfasting together in the hotel's restaurant, Razmik and his crew return to their ship to await the arrival of the delivery they have been told to expect.

Brizio and Dierk, the humans that had been on hand to meet Razmik and his crew upon their arrival, arrive the following day not long after the alleged smugglers return to their ship. Though the crew has passed the first test, Bril'sivron's little lizards having observed or overheard nothing that suggests the members of the crew are anything other than what they claim to be, the delivery is not entirely what it seems, and will act as the final test for the alleged smugglers.
Dierk, controlling a small repulsor-sled containing five small locked crates, nods to Brizio when they reach Razmik's ship, and tightens the bad securing his red hair in a ponytail as his comrade walks up the boarding ramp to knock on the hatch and thereby announce their arrival.
Resting a hand on the blaster holstered on his hip, Brizio steps back after knocking to await the arrival of Razmik and his crew.
