Description:
The Speedster Refit for the C-9979 Modular Frigate turns the C-9979 into a Blockade Runner/Fast Transport. While it retains the 4 Wingtip Laser Cannons mounted in 2 Fire-Linked Pairs, and 4 Turret-Mounted Cannons also in 2 Fire-Linked Pairs, the rest of the ships systems were dedicated to massive engin blocks that were installed across the back wings that vastly increase the speed at which the C-9979 can move. The front wings were filled with additional fuel reserves and generators to keep up with the new needs that additional engines put upon the C-9979.
Additionally, a SLAM System was introduced to punch through blockades, whilst Manoeuvring Thrusters helped keep the Speedster refit point and go where she wanted. An upgraded Sensor Array helped the C-9979 track itself and everything around it so that it did not meet an unfortunate end. Given the ships design priorities, it did fall behind in terms of its carrying capacity compared to other variants. 100 Troops and 12 Starfighters did seem a trade off, but it did provide means for an elite covert entry team to be deployed behind enemy lines rapidly.
