[/ul][/ul] {Continued from the Commenor system}*The entirety of Equinox and Perihelion fleets are currently stationed over the planet Dosh. On Nola Jir's orders, they have been sent on a reconnaissance mission to evaluate the prospectus of Trandoshan mercenaries. A thorough cost-benefit analysis would not be complete if the Sun Guards did not at least investigate, personally, whether the military skills of the T'doshok matched up to those of the Thyrsians. Compatibility is another major concern. Nola had requested a report on the Dosh religion from a task force consisting of some of the Thyrsian clergymembers. According to their research, they worship the Scorekeeper. This keeps the Trandoshans aggressive, which is a major benefit in the eyes of the Thyrsians, and lends credence to the suitable coincidence of their two religions, but as to whether the T'doshok could be effectively proselytized... well, that was yet another reason to investigate in person.*
*And so Equinox fleet had dispatched the twelve pilots of Desert Squadron from the Corona-class frigate, "Burster", to the surface of the jungle world. The reputation of the Trandoshans precedes them: presence of the fleet in orbit was intended to mitigate acts of overt hostility. Such an action was not considered a threat to the Dosh culture, any more than wearing a blaster at one's waist would be. Why leave it at home when the situation might call for it here and now? To the saurian species, it was nothing more than keeping this information on the up-and-up. Far worse, to them, was the notion of concealed carry weapons. Assassination is a grievous offense - the hunted should always be aware that they are prey. That's the sort of thing that matters to the Scorekeeper.*
*The transmissions from Commenor arrive at the "Nova", flagship Majestic-class cruiser of Equinox fleet. Upon receipt, the rear admiral, Venma Krope, signals for the communications team to dispatch details to the "Luminous Flux", and likewise to Desert Squadron.*[/ul] *With these words, the crews salute and attend to their tasks. Krope continues her stroll across the bridge of the cruiser, unhesitating in stride. She gazes serenely over the crew members. The communications team attends to sending the orders as requested. The navigation team, meanwhile, begins working on calculating a hyperspace route directly to Kuat from Trandosha. Fortunately, it is merely a jump from the Mid Rim to the Core Worlds; the further one travels, the exponentially more likely it becomes that the desired route may not exist due to one or more gravity wells, asteroid fields, or other obstructions. Hyperlanes are undoubtedly a safer way to travel, and the computer calculations are far less expensive. But computational cost is not a particularly poor tradeoff, if sticking to traversing only known hyperspace routes is going to take more time in the long run.*
*Equinox and Perihelion fleets depart from Trandosha's orbit and set a course for the edge of the gravity well. Given some time, the computed hyperspace vector will be readied for the fleet, and they will make the jump straight to the planet Kuat.*{Continued in Kuat's orbit}

A flight of four black and green liveried Bes'uliik fighters exit hyperspace in the Mytaranor Sector, near the inhabited worlds of Trandosha and Kashyyyk. Nearer the latter world, the four fighters, in a neat diamond formation, streak in towards the Wookiee homeworld at full power.
The fighters are broadcasting Clan Australis IFFs, identifying them as Boar Squadron. In the lead fighter was Kaine Australis, with the other three pilots sticking to the Alor in tight coordination, keeping pace, one behind, one port, one starboard, Kaine in the front. He flicked to the squadron's private frequency. ::Let's try knocking first.::Kaine commed to Kashyyyk Control. ::Kashyyyk Control, this is Boar One. Requesting Landing Clearance.:: He wondered if the Hutts were awake today. Four Mando fighters should be enough to wake anyone up in a hurry. Kaine was here thanks to information he'd encouraged a Hutt in the Wayland system to give over. Said Hutt was still alive, in carbonite, stuffed into the cargo bay of Kaine's fightercraft. Kaine planned to return him to his crime bosses.
Whether they liked it or not, he was going to follow the chain of scum as high as it went, and stomp on everything he found along the way. He was good at stomping, not so good at patience when it came to those who preyed on the weak. Zordo The Hutt

The Hutts were indeed awake, though that didn't matter here specifically. An operative of the Ajuur Cartel, working as the Orbital Traffic Controller heard the ping from the lead Besu'liik fighter, identifying as Boar One.
Received, Boar One. Our databanks identify you as Mandalorian Clan Australis. The Ajuur Cartel currently has no quarrel with any of the known Mandalorian Clans at this time. You have been cleared to dock on landing platform A-422 on the outskirts of Rwookrrorro. A cartel representative will be there to greet you.
Clan Australis was a very old, well known name in a lot of circles. Tales of their exploits could be heard from dozens of the most veteran cartel enforcers. And they would also state that they weren't to be crossed. However, the Cartel was functioning as the mighty Zordo wished and at this time, expansion or conflict wasn't on the agenda.

Kaine recieved the comm cordially. Looked like this was going to be settled on the ground. So much the better, he thought to himself. The Boars would have copied the transmission from Traffic Control.::Acknowledged, Control.:: Kaine clipped curtly, and settled in for the descent pattern down to Kashyyyk's Wroshyr Forests, and the tree city of Rwookrrorro. The veil of clouds revealed the deep green of the huge forests, and soon enough, the Bes'uliik drew low enough to make out small gaps in the trees, which were actually large open areas, dwarfed by the massive arboreals around them.Kaine brought his fighter around to platform A-422, which was big enough to accomodate the four fighters. All four touched down within moments of one another. Kaine popped his cockpit seals and hopped the few meters to the ground. He looked around at the Kashyyyk forest, watching for the Cartel's promised representative. He kept his hands away from his sidearms, though that was just to make the locals feel at ease. Helmeted, his face was unreadable behind the T-Visor. Anyone sensing him in the Force would sense only determination. Zordo The Hutt

Aloriya waited until they had cleared the treetops and her pilot had them on a course for the Muun'bajir, then she went to the main cabin and sat down across from the wookie elder who had accompanied her along with a few other wookies. She began to speak to the elder using the Shriiwook translator she had installed in her helmet prior to coming to Kashyyk in search of Wroshyr sapplings."My name is Aloriya Marev. I will be releasing you and all of your brethren as soon as we reach my ship. I have no intention of keeping you or any of your people as slaves. We will take you wherever you want to go, and we will furnish you with money and supplies so that you may survive. I could not leave you on your homeworld to be sold into slavery. I only ask that you allow us to take you wherever you want to go without your people harming us. If I may ask, what is your name?"The wookiee Elder considered Aloriya for some time, during which, she sat still and bore his scrutiny."My name is Naznak. Why are there Wroshyr saplings in this ship?"Aloriya glanced to the rear of the compartment where several of the BL droids had deposited the last saplings they had been carrying when she gave the order to return to the village."The saplings are why I came to Kashyyk in the first place. We came here to get Wroshyrs so that we can grow them on Mandalore. We intend to re-forest some of the devastated regions of our planet with them. In addition, we plan to make houses in them, and use their wood to build houses owing to the tree's renowned flexibility and strength."The wookiees held a rapid conversation that was either too fast for Aloriya's translator to pick up on, or was in a dialect that her translator did not cover. "If you do in fact release us, I will tell the rest of my people not to harm yours. Then I will talk to them and we will decide what we will do."Aloriya removed her Buy'ce and smiled at the Wookie Elder."Thank you Naznak. I promise your people will be freed. In fact..." Aloriya pulled out the control codes to the collars and stun cuffs and released Naznak's restraints, then Aloriya gave him the control codes. "I trust you to keep your promise to ensure that your people will not harm mine."Naznak took the Control codes and released the other wookies that were on Aloriya's Komyrk. They then began to speak to each other again, and Aloriya realized after putting her buy'ce back on, that her earlier suspicion was correct and that they were speaking in a dialect that her translation software did not cover. They were now speaking slowly enough that it should be translating for her, but it wasn't. She frowned slightly as she made her way back to the forward section of the ship to take her place behind the pilot. The Komyrk had been docked a mere few minutes when the sensors officer reported four inbound Bes'uliike broadcasting Australis IFF. Aloriya pondered them for a moment and decided whatever they were about was Australis business. Unless they commed requesting support of some kind, it was none of her business. The wookies were quickly settled as comfortably as possible in the available space. And the Muun'bajir made ready to depart the system and head home to Mandalore. Aloriya turned to the comms officer and instructed them to open a line to the Loth-Wolf. ::Loth-Wolf, this is Alor'aan Marev. We are preparing to leave the sector and make way for Mandalore. Do you require any assistance? I will be leaving behind a single Bes'uliik fighter to rendezvous with you when you return to orbit. The Pilot will deliver the promised first deposit of 100 Mandalorian Skulls. The Pilot will then provide you with an escort into Mandalorian territory and fast-track you through Flight Control once you reach Mandalore if you so choose. Otherwise, they will depart immediately for Mandalore. The rest of your payment will be available upon delivery to the Marev Bastion on Mandalore. ::Following this message, Aloriya gave orders for a single Bes'uliik and crew to remain in orbit as the Muun'bajir made for the jump point. She gave them a crate with the promised Skulls, and gave them orders to observe the goings on on the planet until such a time as the Loth-Wolf was ready to depart Kashyyyk's orbit.

Travis Slane Darth Sanguinus From the depths of hyperspace, the Firebrand would come into existence, exiting over the immense forest world of Kashyyyk. Immediately, the ship roared to life as the personnel within got to their stations. Squadron commanders reviewed with their pilots, Stormtroopers of the Tenth Legion headed for their landing craft, and others got to their battle stations. Intelligence reported nothing truly significant beyond the possibility of an anti-piracy fleet. Scans detected nothing within the vicinity at the time, but time was a fickle thing. Things could easily change on a whim and without notice.
What was known was the recent history of the Wookiee homeworld. A Jedi crusade liberated the world from an unnamed Sith Lord, who fled the planet to parts unknown. Hutts came to claim the world, later, after the Jedi failed to establish a strong presence in the system. There, the Hutts utilized Wookiees as slave labor and soldiers to be sold to rich clients. Now, presently, with the fall of the Zordo Cartel, Kashyyyk was independent and ruled by its chieftains and clan councils. A loose confederacy that sought to the security and stability of their system and to prevent further issues. Yet, issues always came. The stars hid dangerous foes and, for the first time since before the Jedi crusade, Sith came knocking upon their door. Under the façade of an Imperialist warlord faction of course.
Xitan left the bridge in the command of his chosen captain, Jaa Harand, so that he could focus on what he needed to do, well him and two others. Travis Slane, a Sith 'Surgeon' if one could call him that, and the newly risen Favored, Darth Sanguinus. The three of them were under orders to raid the planet for worthy slaves, seeing as the Wookiees were a strong race, though stubborn of course. Just like the Twi'leks. He descended down a turbolift, stopping at a floor where one of his compatriots had come to join. Now, the fun can truly begin. It had been several weeks since the conquest of Ryloth had happened under the command of Lord Dragus. The Council made sure that, this time, there would be no conquest. However, they didn't say how severe the raid needed to be. Xitan hoped there were worthy opponents to fight below. Wookiees were a truly great warrior race, fierce and determined. At least, this time, there were no Jedi to interfere with their plans.

Sanguinus Followed Xitan out from the bridge, his small Viper droid hauntingly hummed closely behind them. As always, the Pau'an strode with his hands behind his back, keeping in-step with Xitan's. Sanguinus had heard of the favored acolyte's previous exploits, but was unsure how much of it was truly founded. He expressed his doubts through the metallic reverb of his mouthpiece.
"I hope you are not in over your head, young one. I may not be there to save you should the wookiees be more than you can handle."

The mask of Xitan remained looking forward as the turbolift came to the bottom level, on the same floor as the hangar bays they needed to arrive at. The door hissed open and this time, the Sith turned to Sanguinus. This one had been the replacement for Darth Tormus, who had perished at the hands of a certain Sith Master named Karnac. There shouldn't be an issue. Just as long as there isn't a sorcerer that can break your knees easily. This was the response of Xitan who had witnessed Vullorr put the newly risen Favored in his place by utilizing the 'gravitational' power of the Dark Side. Xitan then proceeded to walk out of the lift, following down the rather crowded corridor. His Myrmidons were already forming up as they walked and so too his starfighter squadron. The Stormtroopers will have a harder time with Wookiees. They like smashing up plastoid armor.

*Travis Slane sat with his back to the wall of the main hangar, his mirrored mask and dark cloak discarded in a pile next to him. Even without Orvos' garb he did not look like himself. His hair had been modified from it's normal color to an unnatural matte black that extended into a full beard which the sugeon did not usually sport. In fact his jaw line and cheek bones had been augmented so that he was unrecognizable even to facial recognition as Travis Slane, which was a good thing as that identity had a reputation to consider. His eyes, now modified to be a vibrant violet stared forward all emotion missing from the face as he stretched out his senses examining the stormtroopers in the bay
Though physically present his mind was delving deep into the soldiers' bodies locating the subtle differences that each soldier had, small underlying issues and boons that they were likely unaware of. There was something exhilarating about knowing a person better than they'd ever be able to understand themselves, however even that exhilaration had limits and it wasn't long before the Surgeon switched from observation to manipulation. For one soldier with an underlying heart arrhythmia he reached deep within the powers of the universe and reset the electrical currents, dropping the soldier where he stood. There was a dual sense of satisfaction at the man's collapse, his own pleasure at a problem solved alongside a deeper satisfaction at the man's pain as his system reset itself. Another soldier recieved a different treatment, a Tholian Flu had started in his system and though it's presence wasn't yet felt by the body Slane accelerated the process, multipling the virus with the force, forcing it to split and spread at an unnatural rate until the man was pulled out of ranks and taken to the infirmary. The flu would burn itself out in a few days now instead of the usual 2 weeks. Sure those two days would be intense but there is no reason a soldier in good condition wouldn't be able to survive the added strain.* <<Besides, if he doesn't then he was too weak to be worthy of this army>>. The voice that only he could hear didn't surprise him anymore though he was surprised to find that for once he agreed with it. He pulled his senses back to himself and looked at the mirrored mask in it's pile of dark cloth, looking at his own reflection sneering back at him even though his face bore no expression at all. It is better to fail now than when they need to be counted on.
*There was a moment of hesitation before he donned the cloak and placed the blank mirrored mask over his face.* Fine you may proceed. *There was a surge of power as the Sith stood up straigh and drew on the force and suddenly half a dozen other soldiers fell over with similar symptoms. As they were being pulled away two soldiers in different sections of the hangar began coughing up blood as the tumors that had only recently began forming began destroying their internal systems. A cackling laugh began from behind the mask, echoing across the chamber for just a few moments before the Surgeon reasserted control, the laughter dying on his lips, but continuing in the back of his mind as he removed the mirrored mask and dropped the cloaks hood. The hangar had erupted into a controlled form of chaos as most of the soldiers raised weapons and prepared to deal with what they could only assume was an attack.* Do not be afraid, this will be over momentarily. *With that he reached out once again to the force, pulling his senses out of himself and into the soldiers. In moments the entire group was twisting and spasming on the ground as their bones gained strength, their muscles gained mass, and their nervous systems became more efficient. In truth their genetic code was being rewritted but the Surgeon had never been one to ask for permission and this would improve the soldier's overall effectiveness, a win for the Sith Eternal as a whole, and a culling of those too weak to survive the true riggers of life. A smile crossed Slane's lips as the laughter in his head mixed with the screams and clatter of soldiers becoming their best selves. This mission was already proving fruitful and they'd only just arrived....*

Once he had descended into the Hangar Bay, Xitan would find the troops assembling, various lightly armored vehicles assembled on barges, logistics loaded onto shuttles, and the starfighters arrayed for deployment. This was to truly be a raid, but one that would require a significant and steady presence of the Sith for a time while the damage was done and rewards reaped. However, as the Sith walked through the hangars, his eyes turned to one of the large openings to gaze at the planet of Kashyyyk... a darkness lurked beneath the immense foliage, its eyes gazing upward at the sky. Strange, thought the Acolyte, until his attention was turned to something else entirely. A blaster went off and a closer sensation of Dark energy was being utilized. The focus of which was... sighs... of course, him.
Xitan walked over to see Stormtroopers, a group of them, seemingly screaming and spasming as their bodies were altered by Sith alchemy or what the Saurian Lord called a 'necessary evolution', albeit a forced one. Except, this wasn't being done by the Lord Dragus. Instead, it was being performed by another of the very same department dedicated to Sith magic, science, and alchemy. A certain Darth Orvos who had been attached to the raid for reasons that didn't make sense to Xitan at all.
We could let the weak die at the hands of Wookiees, you know.
The Acolyte remarks as he sees one of the Stormtroopers, dead on the floor, with a blaster burn against his chest.
Stormtroopers, trained or otherwise, are a precious resource after all.
His mask turned to the ones that survived this 'evolution' sensing the augmentation was being drilled straight into their DNA. The troops were supposed to be assembling for the raid, not being the playthings of this Orvos. His disdain was mostly because Xitan was more a warrior than one who believed in the mysticism of Sith magic, despite the education and advice of Dragus.
Culling my legion any further will only serve to make our raid last longer. The Supreme Leader expects quick and swift results.
Xitan grimaced at the thought of having to call in reinforcements. He'd rather the lackluster elements of his regiment die on the planet, letting their bones become a part of the earth and serve as an example for the living to try harder and be stronger.

In orbit, upon the Firebrand...
Upon the bridge of Xyston-class Star Destroyer were several people, sitting around a holomap desk. Xitan, the obvious Sith, along with Vice-Admiral Grann Karath, a couple of commanders, a trio of Trandoshan leaders, and a few holoimages of the present raiding officers. One, in particular, requested this meeting due an odd report made by one of their patrols. Xitan, who was quietly reviewing the initial contact, looked up from the datapad at the Stormtrooper commander.
Wookiees... with red and orange lightsabers?
The report was hard to believe, but this was now the third time that such a report of instances with lightsaber-wielding Wookiees. At first, they believed they were Jedi which was understandable considering the liberation by the Jedi Order some years prior. However, the second report stated the color of the lightsabers since none had survived in the first contact. Just that lightsaber-like cuts upon the bodies were noted. This second confirmation of the lightsabers, now the third reported instance, raised an eyebrow beneath the mask of Xitan. Wookiees that were wielding the colors of the Sith?
=Stormtrooper Captain= We were able to get video confirmation from a scout probe that followed the patrol along the route of the first two encounters. It appears they are operating out of the Shadowlands, a place where the other Wookiee tribes dare not go. I have refrained from sending further patrols till I hear your next orders, Lord Xitan.
Xitan rubs his chin slightly, contemplating upon this. Sith Wookiees on Kashyyyk? The report of the Jedi liberation made mention of a Sith Order that lurked within the Shadowlands, under the command of some Pharaoh God-King if he recalled it. The Sith now turned to their Trandoshan allies, inquiring upon this.
=Trandoshan Commander= Long ago, there was a Ssssssith Order that ruled from the sssshadowss of Kassssshyyyk. Our ancessstors were employed as their mercenariesss. Long was the partnerssship held until the end of the ssso-called Pharaoh. If there are Wookieesss wielding the weaponsss of the Sssssith, then they are likely dessscendants of that Order's teachingsss.
Xitan then turns to the Vice-Admiral. It was time to get to the bottom of this.
Use the reports from the Jedi liberation and focus a scan on the Shadowlands. Have our Trandoshan allies assist in this. If we can locate where this Pharaoh once ruled and the Order headquartered themselves, then we might be able to find these Wookiees.
Vice-Admiral Karath acknowledges the order and proceeds to perform the duty requested.
