Kifo is glad that she has no intention of sticking around long enough for any kind of sentencing she would be facing to be handed down, her smile never dimming as she listens to the less than reassuring advice and predictions about the future that her court appointed attorney offers her. "No contest, Kifo nods a few times while grinning cheerfully, Definitely, then gives the Selonian a thumbs up as she says, And may I just compliment you on your warm and fuzzy bedside manner, counselor! I mean, really, Kifo goes on more than a little sarcastically, I'm just super comforted by all of your great advice, without which I'm sure I would succumb to despair. Standing up and reaching over the table to shake the Selonian's hand, Kifo pumps it up and down energetically as she smiles and says, I'm really looking forward to our next meeting!"
Finally releasing Nitika's hand, Kifo asks, "How soon should I expect to hear from you about that transfer outta here?"
After being brought back to her and Niraasha's cell, Kifo pats the pudgy Kitonak's shoulder and tells her cheerfully, "Meeting with the attorney went really, really great! Making her first and second fingers walk in air, she says, We'll be transferred out of here and into a regular prison in no time, winking as she goes, and then we come up with an escape plan, get out ship back, then go back to doing what we do best!"
Smiling as she waits for Niraasha to reply, Kifo sits down on her bunk when it becomes clear that her vanilla scented navigator is either taking even longer than usual to reply or has no intention of doing so, telling the dour Kitonak just to end the conversation they were, in a manner of speaking, having, "You just sit there and let it all sink in, old friend, I know you are probably overwhelmed to know how close we are, she holds her thumb and index finger just a tiny bit away from one another, to sweet, sweet freedom."

CDF Fort Goldfield - Detention Center
"You're thinking of doctors, Nitika dryly informs the pirate captain when offered a backhanded, sarcastic compliment about her delivery of the reality of the situation the captain is in after her actions in orbit, and then, obviously utterly unconcerned with the captain's opinions or apparent inability to take her and her crews' situation seriously, stands up and says, I'll get back with you after I've presented our offer to the prosecution and they accept it or alter it."
After leaving the detention center, Nitika takes her airspeeder back to the public defender office in Meccha to draw up her proposal to the prosecution so that she can present it to him, neither hurrying nor delaying since it is late enough in the day that she will need to wait until the next morning to do so.

CDF Fort Goldfield - Detention Center
The CDF graciously gives it's detainees a daily chance to see the sun during an optional thirty minute walkies period, which is something Kifo looks forward to since it gives her a chance to check in with the other members of her crew when one or more wind up in the same group of 10 detainees that she is in, and also affords her more entertaining conversational partners than her vanilla scented navigator who can sometimes take hours to come up with her replies to even simple questions like how did you sleep.
Today, fortunately for Kifo, she winds up in the same group of detainees on walkies as her XO, Zhelaniye, an androgynous hermaphroditic Kage beauty with golden eyes. "'Aniye! Kifo exclaims, walking over to where the Kage is having a ciggie while staring up at the sky as though storing the sight away for when they are returned to their cell. Got any smokes to share?"
Passing Kifo a cigarette and a packet of matches, Zhelaniye says, "Our dear Niraa says you've a plan to get us out of captivity soon? Do tell."
Arching an eyebrow, Kifo jokes, "How long did that take her to tell you? The whole walkies period? When Zhelaniye looks less than amused, Kifo shares, I actually have no plan at the moment save for the plan to make a plan once we're transferred to a regular prison. Brilliant, right? Our court appointed attorney is working on that even as we speak, probably. So, actually, that's part of a plan, so I do have a plan, which you now know."
Exhaling smoke through their nostrils as they reply, Zhelaniye opines, "Fabulous."
The Kage's humor tends to be on the dry side, at least Kifo assumes the Kage is being funny, so she grins and says, "I know, I know, don't get too excited, lighting her own cigarette finally as she asks, So, you seen any of the rest of our merry crew? How are they holding up?"
Pocketing the matches Kifo hands them, Zhelaniye replies, "Mechtat has the misfortune of sharing a cell with Narek, so, they shrug - as Kifo will know that Narek, their Duros helmsman who, when nervous, emits a foul odor thanks to his species' unique defensive trait, will not be the most pleasant of cellmates for the crew's near human sensor officer without requiring them to explain it - before going on, Our dear Sub'da loves a good scrap, as you know, the crew's hulking Dowutin weapons officer having a foul temper and violent disposition, and so is most likely just as happy in here as he would be anywhere else."
Nodding, Kifo smiles as she says, "So, spirits and hopes are high! Awesome! Make sure you pass along the plan if you see any of them before I do."

Mastigophorous - Starport
Kuweweseka, having exchanged her flight suit for a less conspicuous pair of olive colored cargo pants, black tee and a khaki tactical jacket, reaches up behind her head to tighten the band keeping her pink, purple and blue isolation braids in a ponytail as she walks down the Kom'rk's boarding ramp and waits for the Mando mercs with her to finishing ditching the armor for something less conspicuous.
Having seen some of the sights the domed city has to offer during the trip down from orbit, the Weequay almost wishes they weren't here on such pressing business, as she imagines there won't be much time for sightseeing as they try to figure out where her Captain, Kifo Akerle of the Beskonecchnyy Pirates, is being held after being taken prisoner by the CDF.

All having changed into the clothes they borrowed from Kuwe's captured crewmates, Dzyun'spitak and her comrades disembark from the Kom'ryk and join the Weequay pirate. Dzyun, motioning towards the exit from the starport into the city as she says, "Let's find someplace for Engla to do her thing, then asks their blonde haired slicer, Where do you think the best place to work your magic is?"
As they start making their way into Mastigophorus, Engla, munching on a piece of spiced leathermeat, says, "Library if they have one, explaining, They usually have little private cubbies with dataterminals, not usually much surveillance to worry about, if we're lucky there will be something about Kifo's capture in the news that lets us know where she's being held, and if not I can hack into the public defenders office and find out who was appointed by the court to defend her, and go from there."
Finding a small public library fairly easily, Engla heads inside with her younger sister, Anitra, to act as her lookout, with Dzyun, Mynah, Pakmakali and Kuwe going over to an outdoor cafe across the street from the library to wait for the sisters to get the information they need for the next stage of their rescue operation.
Taking a seat at a table, Padmakli keeping an eye on the library in case there is any sign that Engla's work attracts the wrong kind of attention, Dzyun orders a Javarican espresso and then asks Kuwe, "Since we've got some time, why don't you tell us exactly how Kifo got herself captured? You guys have been operating here in the Core Worlds for how long now without running into anything you couldn't handle?"
Mynah, ordering a Blurrgfire, chuckles as she says, "Yeah, I mean, you guys had a MC80, right? How the shab do you lose a fight with a monster like that?"

Kuwe, sipping her Starfire 'skee while twirling an isolation braid around the wrinkled index finger of her free hand groans when Mynah asks how her Captain and crewmates had wound up captured, saying in her dry, raspy voice, "Yeah, not our finest hour, that's for sure. After gulping down a drink of her 'skee, Kuwe explains, Started out simple enough, our Wayfarer was bringing a load of spice up from our base here on Drall like normal, yeah? Then this CDF corvette snatches them up after they tried to make a run for the Endless, which, she shrugs, no big deal, right? We pop over in the Endless, disable the corvette's systems with our ions, Kifo heads over to get our stuff and people back, easy, right? Shaking her head, the Weequay says, Would have been fine if the frikkin' Rebel Alliance didn't show up outta nowhere. They launch fighters, we launch fighters, they kick our butts, like, totally wiped us out except for me because I'm awesome, she shrugs and admits, Most of the time anyway, this Rebel pilot that is a Forcie like me just about exploded me, sent me into an uncontrolled spin, right?"
Pausing for another drink, Kuwe wraps up the story, "Anyway, while all that's going on the CDF sends a cruiser over since the corvette got out a partial distress call, and they fry the Endless' systems with their ions, and, she shrugs, it's game over. Finishing her 'skee and waving down a server to order another, Kuwe asks, How long do you think Engla's gonna take? Should we go and check on her?"

Dzyum whistles as Kuwe finishes her account of how her crew wound up captured, telling the Weequay, "Rough, compartmentalizing the information about the Rebel Alliance coming to the aid of the CDF on Drall as it could be something their allies in the First Order find interesting, and then nods her chin towards the library entrance by way of replying to the question about Engla, who is walking down the stairs with her younger sister right behind her as they head towards the street, Looks like she's already done actually."
As she sits down, Engla says with a cocky smirk, "Found 'em. Propping her chin in her hands after resting her elbows on the table, Engla spouts off what she had learned at a rapid clip, Kifo and the others are still in CDF custody, their public defender is working on a deal with the prosecution to get them moved to as cushy a prison as their crimes will allow for, I've got tabs on their attorney's datapad so will know if anything moves on the transfer front.”
"Why wait? Mynah asks, gesticulating with her hands as she explains, We know where they are, why not just . . ."
Interrupting the Lorrdian, Dzyun says, "Picking a fight with the CDF is a bad idea, then says after considering their options for a moment, But if we can work out when they are going to transfer Kifo and the others it would probably be best to try and extract them en route rather than waiting until they are moved to wherever they are moved. If we move fast enough and pick the right ambush point we should be able to snatch them up and get outta Drall before the CDF can send reinforcements. Looking at Kuwe, she says, You're footing the bill so it's your call. Wait until they're moved or pull them out while they are being transported?"

Kuwe purses her wrinkled lips in thought after Dzyun proposes that they could try to free Kifo and the rest of her crewmates when the CDF transports them from where they are currently being held to where they are transferred to, weighing the option of having to deal with a CDF transport against having to deal with a prison's defenses. Shrugging after deciding taking on the smaller force likely to be involved in transporting Kifo and the others is preferable to going up against a prison, Kuwe says, "The transport sounds like the best of the two options."
Taking a drink of her 'skee, Kuwe asks, "So, what's the next step? Waiting around for the public defender to get word about the transport sounds dull, and she figures there has to be something they can do in the meantime to make sure they are ready to set out as soon as possible. While there is no way to know which regular prison Kifo and the others will be transferred to, Kuwe figures there can only be so many routes out of the CDF facility they are in now, assuming they are transported by ground, while an aerial extraction will be tricker to manage, so she asks, Is there any way we can determine how the CDF usually handles transfers? If they go by ground transport we should probably see if we can figure out the possible routes away from the CDF facility, and maybe look into getting the ship someplace close before the transfer if it will be by air."

Before Dzyun has a chance to weigh in on the discussion about what their next steps will be, Engla fields the question about how they could go about figuring out whether the transfer would be done by ground transport or air, twirling a strand of her blonde hair around an index finger absently as she says, "I can search the holonet for any information about previous prisoner transfers, or, she shrugs, try hacking into CDF records if the search doesn't turn anything up."
Dzyun, bobbling her head from side to side indecisively as, while she does not doubt Engla's skills are up to the task of hacking into CDF records she is not sure it is worth the risk that a breach would be detected and alert them to the possibility that a transfer would be subjected to attack, says, "Probably best to stick to the holonet search, and then addresses Kuwe's other thoughts, Having the ship close to the detention center is a good idea either way the transfer goes down, as they would want to extract Kifo and her crew and then leave Drall as soon as possible, then purses her lips as she thinks about the matter for a moment before asking Engla, Did you get an idea of where the detention center is located? If there is a closer city, we could head there and standby until we know more about when and how the transfer will go down."
Engla shrugs, "We're close enough here as we would be in any other city actually, so long as we can get rooms close to the starport we should have enough time to get in the air and to the intercept point when the time comes."
Nodding, Dzyun tells Kuwe, "There you have it, now we just need to get those rooms and settle in to wait for the transfer to go down."

Kuwe nods, satisfied with the Mando's plan since it is flexible enough to be changed should the need arise and trusting their judgement where the final version of the operation is concerned once they have all the details they need to make their decisions.
Drall is not exactly a tourist hotspot, so finding rooms close to the spaceport proves to be easy enough, and after checking them all in under false names to avoid any blowback resulting from their mission, Kuwe retires to her room to settle in to wait for Engla to work out how the transfer will be taking place so that they can wait some more for when the transfer actually takes place.

*The three-hundred-year-old tree creaked and croaked as the violent thunderstorm tossed its ancient branches to and fro and soaked them with a driving rain. The faithful tree, the oldest in the entire village of Gale's Haven, had sheltered five generations of Wingriders on their aerial patrols of the countryside, but today, the tree was feeling its age. An old gash where a major branch had been torn off decades earlier had re-opened, and the crack widened. The tree quivered, sensing what was about to happen, but too exhausted to prevent it. The elder statesman of the forest was tired and broken. With a deafening crack, a shudder, and then a crash, the old tree suddenly toppled to the ground, expiring and breaking into a dozen pieces. Swallowed by the darkness, the tree would be a haven from the gale no longer.*
