They open the roads, but every motor vehicle in your vicinity has a flat tire. You find a rickety old unicycle, and pedal your way into town to get tobacco, only to find that the store is sold out... And it was all shipped to where you came from.
I wish that actually happened, because it would be kinda fucking hilarious.
