And there were the million credit questions. What could the Ren offer her and what would she need with it. There were a number of ways he could approach this answer. But until he could better gauge her feelings on the matter, he would have to handle the subject with care, well at least as much care as he could muster Surely a Fleet Admiral has ambitions to rise higher within the ranks or be able to better serve her Empire... It is one thing to control your crew and crowds of people around you. But what happens when that is not enough? What happens when you are forced to face someone skilled in the Force? Or people not fooled by your meditation? You are strong, but you can be so much more stronger. The Ren have resources, power, and knowledge that would be at your fingertips, if you so desired it...

She tilted her head a little at what the armor clad man before her had to say. Shel then turned at took in what her two companions thought. Though she couldn't see their faces, she could see how the presence in the Force had changed since the approach of Harnan. General Scortino seemed slightly upset by the insinuation that her troops would not be enough to keep her Fleet Admiral safe. Officer Orren Blant seemed to be weighing what this strange man had to say, though a little protective, in a way Shel had never received from her adopted 'father.' Turning back to Harnan, Shel had more questions.
=Shel= Perhaps, though I am not like other imperials, I don't have that ambition to see myself on the very throne I started out serving. But perhaps a better understanding of my powers would be suitable pursuit. If my Emperor approves, and it won't detract from my ability to perform my duties.

Harnan shifted his gaze ever so slightly as Shel appeared to consult her closest comrades. As always, he could easily pick up on the unease he caused just about any Imperial Officer. Far too many of them seemed to disbelieve the existence of the Force. Viewing the Ren and the Imperial Knights as fanatics that pretended to have magical powers. But eventually they would all see the truth of the matter when a skilled Force User tore up their battalions. He shifted his gaze back to Shel as she spoke once more Rising through the ranks does not have to include the throne. You can do what you wish with this power, once trained to use it... As to your duties, rest assured you will have ample time to conduct them. After all, it would be somewhat counterproductive to monopolize all of your time and see you lose what you have already earned... As to the Emperor's approval... I will handle that personally. All you have to do is but say the word...

Smiling at the realization of how much effort this man was putting up just to recruit her, Shel then gave a slight nod as she made up her mind.
=Shel= If what you say is true, then I will join you to be tutored, and perhaps join your order, but, if I am unsatisfied I will return my full attention to the fleet. Deal?

He gave a return nod of his head and reached out his hand for her to shake as Shel laid out her terms for undertaking training By all means, consider it a deal. But you should know ahead of time, I never leave a Lady unsatisfied...

Reaching out and taking the armored hand of Harnan, Shel shook on it. Starting her down the path toward expanding her mastery over the Force.
=Shel= I suspect not, but I am hard to impress.

Following his conversation with the Grandmaster, Lucien made his way back into the crowd, hoping to run across other people he knew from whatever limited amount of time he had spent in the First Order. Walking through the sea of grey that was the Imperial officer corps, he saw a few familiar faces, but none he could openly approach as a friend. However, after making his way through a particularly thick group of officers, ran across someone he did not expect. The silver-haired woman known as Jenia Kasalle. Lucien froze. He had not expected to see her here today, though he supposed he shouldn't have been surprised. It was, after all, a major ceremony for the First Order, and anyone with any degree of rank in the First Order would be extremely likely to come along. She was with a group of other officers, but the others seemed to be simply making small talk with the woman, as well as imploring her to attend the evening's gala alongside them. Jenia, as expected, was understandably annoyed by all this. And so Lucien decided to save her from the annoyance and embarrassment of these other officers."Admiral Kasalle, I hadn't expected to see you here..." She looked up, mildly surprised as she saw Lucien. "Rear Admiral, to keep it formal, but yes, by chance I was able to attend as well", she responded merely, while looking up to the Imperial knight, "I sadly can't say that I'm surprised to see you, unless I would have overslept your appointment. My congratulations for being now officially known as the Emperor's faithful knight." Although it sounded sarcastic with the cold tone of speech, which she still maintained, it was meant honest nontheless. She appreciated the young Needa and also his servitude for the Empire, given of what she found out on Garqi during their last meeting. Therefore the atmosphere was for her more relaxed, when knowing the person in front of her. Lucien reacted with a slight chuckle. During their evening out on Garqi, he had gotten well acquainted with the Rear Admiral’s hidden flair for sarcasm, and found it to be rather endearing.“Of course, Rear Admiral. I’m flattered that you came out all this way to see my appointment.” Even though this was said in a joking tone, he was definitely glad to see her. It was almost reassuring to him to know that she was here, and was somewhat humbled by the fact that the rear admiral had taken the timers come out here and watch his promotion, even if it may have been for other reasons than his mere presence. Even so, he knew how much she detested social events, and she likely took some comfort in the fact that he was there, as he was more of a known quantity then most other people in this room.“Especially considering how much you love these kinds of events.”

"Formalities, I would rather call it", Jenia answered truthful after they had made their distance towards other major officers within the corps, trying to find some private space on this huge dreadnaught for a brief moment of time, now that the main ceremony was over, "I care for my crew and those, who are assigned to my orders, therefore I had to be present. One of the promoted officers will be one of these people - and I would be a bad example of a leader if I wouldn't at least not honor it." She sighed, trying to calm down for a short duration of time. Talking to Needa was always strange - whenever she encountered him in recent times, she tended to talk a lot about things she normally didn't talk about. Strange to some point - there were only few persons whom she rewarded with such an ammount of trust and even for those individuals it took her a long time to admit everything which bothered her. The job of an imperial officer had changed her a lot, when reflecting it towards how she acted as a younger person. "And I'm neither sure, if I should attend the later gala, Lucien", she then continiued, "I'm not sure if I have the courage for it. There's so many things, which could go wrong..."

To tell the truth, he wasn't surprised that Jenia was unsure about attending the gala. She preferred the company of only a select few people, and she was rather uncomfortable, even in the semi-casual setting of the small reception that was taking place outside of the hangar where the ceremony proper had been held. As such, the two of them left the room it was being held in, sitting down in a small side-room that was evidently designed for three or four people to sit down and discuss strategy. As such, the room had two black leather couches, and a black glass coffee table in between them, whose edges glowed a soft blue color. In addition, a hexagonal window opened up into space, providing a beautiful view of the stars glittering in the distance. Lucien gently held her hand in a comforting manner, helping to calm the nervousness she clearly felt about the gala.
"The gala? Don't worry about it. You'll do just fine. Just stay with me, we can avoid the majority of the people. If you don't feel like talking to them, don't talk with them."
He paused for a moment, gesturing to the starfield that presented itself in the window.
"Everyone there is like one of those stars. Sure, they have things happening on them, but ultimately they are just small specks in the distance. It will just be me and you."

She sighed, waving back her silver hair before taking a brief moment to just enjoy the calmness around her. This was in the end what she needed, what she was used to. Thus she neither minded holding Lucien's hand for the brief moment - after all she had learnt to know him better at Garqi in order for her to trust him. "It still comes to appearence in the end", she solely said, more than unsure, before eyeing Lucien directly, "And I honestly don't think I should attend at all, but well... I don't want to miss the event either. Like, I even had considered wearing a dress, the one I bought back at Garqi. And yet... I don't fit in there, as much as I wish I could fit into the whole gala."
Again a deep sigh, as she pulled his hand closer towards hers. "I feel vulnerable out there without a task", she merely whispered as she shook her head, "Just like I felt vulnerable at other moments in my life, prior before I found my purpose as a ship's captain. Sometimes though it feels like a golden cage. I have to follow my duty if I want to keep the respect of my crew and my fellow officers, but at the same time... there is no place for Jenia as the woman you learnt to know at Garqi. Unlike you, they only know the Rearadmiral Kasalle. That's why I fear the event so much, if you can reason it, Lucien..."

He flashed her a smirk as she laid down what amounted to a challenge to him. And he did not back down from a challenge. Especially one of this kindI'm sure... But I am more than ready to rise to that challenge... Did you have anything else you wished to discuss? Or would you prefer to be left in the company of your officers?

Without a doubt. For now, farewell Lady Hu... Pardon, Fleet Admiral Hu...He gave something of a shallow bow, before taking his leave of Shel and her retainers. His focus settling upon his new task. He made his way through the gathered officials, to find Nicademus Delvardus IV. Some might have advised him to wait until after the proceedings to discuss this matter with the Emperor. But Harnan was a little more concerned with getting the Ren back up to full strength, than he was with matters of decorum

But Harnan was a little more concerned with getting the Ren back up to full strength, than he was with matters of decorum Nicademus was easy to find since, as always, Faina Nikulin was by his side as well as the Field Marshal Baltasar, his younger brother. The Emperor had finished speaking with some high ranking members of the Imperial Military which he waved off as Harnan was spotted approaching. The Imperial had noticed an extended conversation between him and Admiral Hu. The likely topic of that conversation being the reason why Harnan came to him.Was I not right, Harnan? Soku would have no choice but to allow you back into the ranks of the Ren.Nicademus remarks as Harnan drew close. The Emperor turning slightly to look at the Ren.Your stride has an intention. What can I do for this time?

Harnan came to a stop just short of Nicademus and his entourage. His gaze briefly passing over Faina and Baltasar, before resting upon the Emperor. In a rare sign of public relations, he gave a slight nod of his head to the man in greeting This time, yes... Circumstances were in my favour... The man's next words continued to show just how observant he could be. Harnan nodded his head back to where Shel was standing amongst the guests. Trying to not make the topic of conversation too overly obvious to anyone else within the gathering The Fleet Admiral... I'm sure you're aware of her potential within the Force. She has expressed her interest in training with the Ren, with the stipulation that you would approve. She will maintain her current duties while I... reassign myself to her fleet to provide her training beyond her current skill set. Unless you would disapprove?

Nicademus once more glances over at Admiral Hu. He figured she would fall under the persuasion of the Ren as the Imperial Knights certainly were of a different breed and not what she was used to from her days with the Old Empire. The Imperial plainly knew why this request was made due to his previous conversation with Harnan. It was good that Admiral Hu still desired to be a part of the Imperial Military, her skills would be needed, one day, to fight against the enemies of the resurgent Empire.
I see no reason to disapprove. Considering her background, she would be better off with the Knights of Ren.
The Emperor remarks, having heard both her story and reviewed the files of her service to the Galactic Emperor, Palpatine.
Do what you must to train her, Harnan, but do not let that get in the way of her duties. I will be shortly posting her assigned location and will ensure that it is, at least, somewhere close to the Deep Core. Her fleet and presence will prove useful in the Coreward territories.

Harnan had to admit he had been concerned that Shel might have declined his offer in favour of the Imperial Knights. But given the fact Palpatine's Empire had been more aligned with the Dark Side, the Ren were definitely the clearer choice. He smiled behind his helmet as Nicademus gave his approval and made it clear that her training should not interfere with her duties I have no intention of distracting her from her duties. Of that, you can trust me... As for her posting, I am sure the Coreward worlds will benefit greatly from her protection... For now, I will leave you to your duties.. With that, Harnan took his leave of the Emperor and disappeared back into the crowd

Whatever, for the moment she felt that it was okay, as she enjoyed it, looking up towards Lucien.
"So you want to tell me to abbandon battle that easily?", she asked amused, "It's not an enemy fleet I encounter here... even though some ships of the fleet might see my ship more as a threat towards them than others... But I don't know. Leaving to the surface today seems wrong as well. We could always do that after the gala."
