The High Council Tower was a tall spire that housed the meeting place of the Jedi High Council on Coruscant. Over the Council's history, the Tower has existed in many different incarnations. The most recognizable Tower was located atop the southwestern side of the Jedi Temple surrounding Tranquillity Spire. Fully rebuilt circa 1,019 BBY, the Tower was abandoned in 19 BBY and later collapsed during the Galactic Civil War. An exact replica would be constructed for the New Jedi Order circa 35 ABY

Devlin Dewe wore his traditional Jedi attire: a brown robe, tan tunic and pants, a white undershirt, and black boots. His single hilted lightsaber was clipped to his belt near his left hip. His hood was up. His long hair pulled back from his face hung loosely behind his shoulders into the darkness of his hood.
Devlin walks into the Council chambers. He breathes in its smell deeply.
The rich, grainy wood, the musty carpet; it all served to ground him to this place. This place out of time. Almost. It was a memory of what the Jedi stood for. Of what the Jedi continue to stand for. And what the Jedi will stand for. It was the home of the Order; but not the home of the Jedi. The original home.
Devlin looks around and notices he is the first to arrive. Stepping to the hololink console, he begins the process of alerting the other Jedi within Coruscant and elsewhere that the time for the meeting is at hand. He smiles, imagining the friends he will soon see.
Stepping away from the console, he takes his seat on the right side of the room and waits.

Kel'Al had just stepped into the High Council Spire's main lift from the hangar levels, and was taking his first breath of fresh, filtered air not polluted by the exhaust fumes of hundreds of years' worth of starships when his comlink chimed twice. Flipping the device over in his hand as he drew it from the green sash tied around his waist, he was surprised to see a message from Master Devlin Dewe, one of the High Councilors with whom he had hoped to speak. Given the nature of his business, the Corellian Master had not announced the purpose of his arrival, and he was concerned for a split second. But the message proved to be unrelated -- summoning him to a meeting, although its purpose was not fully stated.
Apparently, during his time incommunicado on Vortex, he had missed other important Jedi business. The young man's brow furrowed as his sense of precognition almost prickled with Force energy. The meeting itself was for a positive reason, he felt sure, but some weighty matter almost hung over the Temple, now that he was listening for it. With a sigh, he stared upward, willing the lift to rise faster.
At last, with a tiny ping, the lift car slowed to a noiseless halt, and the doors slid open with a whoosh. A cool breeze entered the car, and luxurious carpeting stretched out before him, leading toward the hallowed doors of the High Council chambers. It was at this point in his trip that Kel'Al had been unsure how next to proceed, as he did not wish to simply burst in uninvited, and there might or might not have been anyone in the hallway with whom he could clear his presence. But the invitation from Councilor Dewe has erased that problem, and so the young Corellian strode confidently into the Council Chamber on silent feet, his traditional green robes swirling slightly as he passed a cooling vent.

Devlin sat with his arms tucked into the sleeves of his robe. And wondered where the other Jedi were. Lost in thought, he almost didn't hear the door open. Actually, he hadn't; however, the Force told him someone had entered the room.
Seeing Kel'Al enter, Devlin stands and lowers his hood. He smiles warmly at the other Jedi. He walks to meet Kel'Al and extends a hand toward the Corellian Jedi in greeting.
Devlin's face was clean-shaven, but care-worn. His dark hair pulled back from his face. His eyes, however, were bright with genuine happiness. One of the few times since Ossus' latest attack that they weren't filled with concern. Meetings with Jedi tended to drive other concerns from Devlin's mind, however.
"Master Raganella. It truly is a pleasure to see you. How have you been, my friend?"

*The turbolift doors opened, and Aerandir, dressed in his white adventure robes, strode into the High Council chamber, arm interlocked with Cassie's. There was an air of gravity about him, but at the same time strength, both from within himself, and from the woman with him. Seeing that there were already two other Jedi present, Aerandir stopped, smiling at them and giving them a bow, a gesture Cassie mimicked.* Masters Raganella and Dewe, it's good to see you. *Returning upright, he glanced aside at Cassie then gestured to her with his left hand as he returned his gaze to the Masters.* This is my wife, Cassie. *Anticipating questions or comments regarding likely never having seen her before, he grinned.* I'm afraid I can't divulge where I've been keeping her, that's classified information. *Cassie smiled, but didn't say anything. Aerandir led her away from the entrance, the two of them standing slightly off to the side. Aerandir looked around the room, then spoke softly to Cassie after a moment.* We're still expecting another Councilor. Raven won't be joining us today. The other three will be joining us via hologram... from Yavin IV. *She nodded grimly, understanding the meaning of this. Aerandir continued speaking.* We're also waiting for another certain two individuals to arrive, as well as any other Jedi that see fit to show up. *His eyes traveled away to the large window, to the skylane traffic far away from the Temple, the daily routines of these people uninterrupted. How long would that last? Were they equipped to stop the oncoming storm? Of course they were. The question was, how did they respond? The same as they always did.* ... though I couldn't blame them for having... previous engagements.

Having arrived mere moments before the meeting that has brought us here was set to begin, I had simply, after setting down in the hangar, suggested that my Padawan avail herself of the opportunity she had been looking forward to once learning we would be journeying to Coruscant and enjoy touring the Temple's archives whilst said meeting was being conducted and then, once the post flight checks had been seen to, made my way to the High Council Spire.
Noting, as I enter the council chamber, with a bit of relief that I am not quite as late as I had feared the delay in my departure from Corellia would make me, I incline my head in silent greeting to those of my fellow Jedi that are already present and, not wanting to interrupt any of the hushed conversations going on, walk to one of the windows lining the chamber and - as Tchun, my left lekku, unwraps around the front of my neck and, contracting it's muscles to pull it over my shoulder, falls to drape behind my back with my left - clasp my hands behind my back when I arrive, looking out at the view as I wait for the meeting to begin.

A full-scale projection of Vesten Kor-taan flickered to life just in front of his Council seat. The human male stood tall for a moment and then turned, being handed a data pad from some unseen individual. The Jedi Master's features appeared sullen to anyone, evident of much stress and little rest. He wore normal Jedi robes but had a surgical mask hanging just under his chin. In haste of preparing for the meeting, he'd forgotten to remove it as he had his bloodied gloves and gown.
Vesten handed away the data pad before speaking. He appeared to be addressing someone about half his height, but he was looking intently at the miniature projection on his desk of all present in the Council's tower on Coruscant.
"I apologize in advance if my presence is cut short," Ves stated plainly. The man closed his eyes, drew a deep breath, and centered his thoughts and focus. It was a simple task easily forgotten in the environment he and his brethren faced on the far-away moon of Yavin. The Jedi managed a smile when his eyes opened. "How is the day on Coruscant?"
Vesten was trying to imagine the glittering city-world on a sunny day, far different from the tropical heat and rain common to Yavin IV. He hoped it was a suitable day for the brief ceremonies that they needed to attend to.

A few moments after Vesten's hologram had resolved itself, a second Hologram, that of Dav Man'Sell, flickered to life. As it did so, Vesten's hologram also flickered, a sign of their transmission through the same transmitter, powered by the same, strained power-source.
Good afternoon all... His voice sounded a little strained, just a the generator powering their transmission was, and the bags under his eyes attested to the length of time since he had last properly rested. He wore, as many were accustomed to seeing him wearing, his long black Greatcoat, and beneath it, an orange-red pilot's flightsuit. His hair was messy, and thick stubble darkened his chin. Sorry if I look a little dishevelled. The 'neighbours' were up all night partying again...
That, the others no doubt would know, referred to the Mandalorians that lay siege to Yavin IV. And their party? The kind where Bes'uliik fighters attempted to drop a few missiles through the Praxeum's front door.
Dav had to confess, it was his least favourite type of party.
The Jedi Master glanced around the room, taking in who had arrived and who they were still waiting on. His eyes settled on Kel'Al Raganella, who he wasn't aware they were expecting. Still, the Corellian Master was a welcome sight.
Master Raganella, Good Afternoon to you. Are you well?

~ The artificial representations of Masters Man'Sell and Kor-taan blinked and and wavered yet again as a third avatar of light blue tried to form in the Council Chamber. The figure could be seen talking to someone "off-screen", clearly trying to find a way to solidify the connection and prevent it from dying entirely. The three Jedi of Yavin IV disappeared for a brief moment before finally appearing crystal clear, only slight fluctuations in the hologram showing from time to time.
The newest form was clearly exhausted from the way his eyes sagged, no longer possessing the fire and fervor they were so often noted for. His hair was a complete wreck, and for someone who had difficulty maintaining his snow-white mane to begin with, that was saying something. A fresh gash adorned his cheek, and the black flightsuit with red trim that he wore was covered in dirt, sweat, and who could tell what else, small tears in the padded fabric exposing bits and pieces of scarred flesh. The only thing cleanly about the man was the polished hilt of antique brass that rested in a holster at his left thigh.
:: Got here as quick as I could, :: he said simply, making no apologies for his appearance or the weariness in his voice. His posture remained tall, resolute, though it was clear to any observer that the near non-stop combat on the Jungle Moon of Yavin was starting to take its toll on Jago Pulastra. Not since the beginning of the invasion had he stopped to rest, adamantly and stubbornly remaining by Dav's side to coordinate the Jedi Praxeum's staunch resistance against the Mandalorian aggressors.
It was with a bit of smug pride that he reflected on the night before. Bastards thought they could sneak up on them, eh? A pity, then, that Dragon Squadron had a record setting scramble time. Whereas Dav had left after the fight, though, to secure the perimeter and double check their local sensor grid, Jago had remained in the ejector seat, determined to continue his air patrol until sunrise. It was only after two other squadrons came to replace the weary Bohemian pilots that he allowed himself to be relieved.
They had all been running ragged, hadn't they? Near constant aerial surveillance and interference via interception and bombing runs was starting to slowly eat away at their available fuel and ammunition reserves. It wasn't a cause for major worry just yet, but if it kept up ...
He pushed the thoughts out of his mind.
:: So, where's our two celebrities of the day? :: he asked, inferring the lacking presence of Will Son'Tir and Adieumus Matango.~

As the turbolift rises up the High Council Spire, its occupants converse up the relatively short ride to the top where the High Council Chambers awaits their arrival.
Eventually the turbolift reaches the top of the spire and the turbolift opens to let the occupants out to a long hall with tall pillars bathed in natural light. It is dusk on Galactic City. Master Will Son'tir is the first to depart from the turbolift, followed by Jedi Knight Adi Matango, Padawan of the Order Maris and Force Adept and Illusionist Ak-Aki Abachu.
Will Son'tir, wore traditional Master of the Order robes with both his hilts dangling on both hips; a sight not normally seen, but with a gathering like this and the mystery that his fellow Corellian Master and High Councilor Serrin Roma had left him with, Will knew it had to be something big. Will would not allow any under representation of the Council be felt by them at large. Will has worked diligently to be brought back into the fold; gradually taking more and more responsibilities. A Headmaster at the Corellian academy; then training the newly recruited investigators; then taking a Senior Watchmen post on Mon Calamari to safeguard an integral system to the Galactic Republic; and now he is striding into another gathering of the High Council and serve the needs of the Order through their wisdom.
And speaking of Corellian Masters, he felt a familiar presence he had not felt in awhile. Will and company walked through the hall unabetted until they reached the chamber doors, in order for everyone to be prepared to meet the High Council in their appropriate reverence . . .

Following behind Master Sontir, Adi bowed deeply as he approached the Masters assembled. Many faces, both holovid and actually in physical attendance, were here, and the Arkanian knight suddenly felt very small. Here he was, with some of the greatest minds the Jedi Order held, and he was expected to address them.
Why he suddenly had stage fright, he didn't know...but it was very uncomfortable. Still, he knew why he was here.
The plan was rather simple...but he would need support to pull it off, not to mention Council approval. They would be the ones to make or break the idea, and if it was presented wrong, well....it would probably be a very long time before the siege of Yavin IV was lifted. The moon had to be liberated, of that there was no question. This plan would allow for that, along with hitting the Mandalorians where it hurt.
He had to succeed in winning over the Council first, though.....

Ak-Akari Obachu stepped in and bowed to the assembled council, but otherwise remained silent. While the masters assembled were hardly enough to cow him, never really having been one to be intimidated by powerful people, he knew enough to be respectful and wait until he was addressed. His matter was unknown to the Council, he was uninvited, and it was a rather insignificant matter compared to the issues he'd been hearing about. It was a matter of politics and etiquette more than for fear that he stayed quiet. So he simply stayed to the back and remained attentive, waiting for his chance to speak, and listening for anything he could potentially help with.

Devlin opens his arms expansively in greeting to the newcomers. He smiles warmly.
"Greetings. Master Son'tir, Knight Matango, Padawan Maris." He smirks. "Ak-Akari."
Since Ak-Akari Obachu was relatively new to Devlin's knowledge, he did not know how to properly address the man; but he was glad to see him; after all, he had helped defend Ossus. A debt Devlin would not soon forget.
"You are most welcome."
He motions to the seats--chairs and couches--surrounding the room.
"Please make yourselves comfortable. There seems much to discuss and many itching to discuss it."
He folds his arms into his sleeves and sits in his previous chair, relinquishing the floor to another Jedi Master.

*Late, he was. How embarrassing. But Master A'Kles put these worries aside; better late than never, and he cared only about being present. As the Caamasi stepped off the turbolift and into the High Council chamber, just as Master Dewe opened the meeting. Barely in time, then. He gave a quick bow to all those present, then slipped off to the side, here merely to observe.*

Will gives a short bow in acknowledgement to Master Dewe's opening of the meeting of the High Council. All members more or less present, with several in attendance; a the High Councilors had varying degrees of severity being displayed in their eyes-- definitely serious business is about to be discussed as the Council Masters took their seats and those in attendance filed next to each other, Will put a silent hand on the shoulder of his onetime student now Master Raganella, before he folded his hands in front of him in silent reverence to allow the Council to conduct its business . . .

Dav's Hologram nodded to Devlin as he greeted their guests for the day. Then, as the visitors made their way to the waiting seats, Dav turned to the Council.
It seems we've got a lot to discuss, so let's begin, shall we?
Their Agenda itself wasn't particularly long, but with the guests gathered - each, no doubt, with requests to make of the High Council - and the complexity of some of the issues, there was certainly the potential for the conversations themselves to take time. The first item on their list, however, was relatively straightforward; Will Son'tir. It was to this particular guest that Dav's eyes turned now.
Master Son'tir, could I ask you to step forward?
He gestured into the centre of the room, before turning his eyes to the other High Council members, watching them as Will came to stand before them.

A flash of perturbed confusion flies through Will's piercing blue eyes, before he obeys and strides forward toward the center of the room. Six of the seven High Council seating Masters were there, filling six seats in the middle of the semi circle; leaving one seat open on the right, two on the left. Master Alora is notably absent from the gathering.
Will kept his composure, but he never felt as much scrutiny among a Meeting of Masters as he does this moment. He allows his eyes to glide through the individual Masters' present until his met those of his fellow Corellian Headmasters', Serrin Roma, to attempt to derive any notion as to why he was on the top agenda. Serrin just held her typical serene demeanor; so Will resolved to, though make good eye contact with all Masters present (practically ignoring the line of guests), address most of his comment to Master Man'sell.
A crisp and professional bow and a slight smirk, "What is thy bidding, my Masters?"

*At this rather inopportune moment the doors once more hissed open and after taking a precursory glance around and attempting as silently as possible to slide into a room unseen; when the majority had all turned toward the door at its opening, Steffo moved; after making a hurried bow to the nearest space, that being by the window and waved to Master Man'sell with his right hand indicating him to continue and not to mind his interruption and was rather now wishing the ground would open up and swallow him whole.*

Receiving a small nod from Serrin, Dav turned his attentions back to Will.
Free time is not a commodity some of us have much to spare, so I will, unfortunately, have to keep this brief.
He gave the Jedi Master before him a tight smile.
Will, you have proven your wisdom and your skill. You are widely respected, universally trusted, and your behaviour and service is in line with the very highest standard of Jedi principles. Therefore, we, the Jedi High Council, would like to offer to you a position on the Council.
The smile grew wider, a rare moment of levity and joy in an otherwise sombre time, one that he revelled in as he proudly had the honour to offer Will a place among their number.
Do you, Will Son'tir, accept responsibility to lead and guide the Jedi Order, to uphold the tenets of the code, and to stand as a champion of justice, civilisation, and the Force?

For a few long moments it seemed as if the Jedi Master in the middle of the room was a very lifelike statue of what jedi look like; Will's hands found there way into the sleeves of the opposite hand and the smile faded as the words kept coming from the holographic image of High Councilmen Dav Man'sell from his hidden position on Yavin IV-- as well, as the proposition came, and eyebrow crept higher towards Will's hairline. There, for all to behold, was the traditionally classic pose of a jedi master who was taken by surprise.
Will blinks as dryness sets into his piercing blue eyes as his mind tries to comprehend what was just said. His eyes chase the masters' gazes as they sat before him. . .
. . .His mind's eye flashed to his assistance and defense of Ossus as his eyes glimpsed Master Devlin Dewe. . . .
. . .Once more, his mind's eye recalled the cumbling academy walls of his home academy and the taste of dust caking his throat as the New Order of the Eye attacked Corellia when his own eyes met the serene gaze of Master Serrin Roma. . . .
. . .The smell of sea water and sulfur filled his nostrils and the whishing of his hair on top of a speeding rail transport can be felt as memories of Mon Calamari are recalled when Will's eyes met those of Jago Pulastra. . . .
. . . uproars and feelings of empathetic dissension of dozens of jedi knights were felt on the hill sides of Tython as Will's eyes met Master Vesten Kor-taan's eyes. . .
. . .The burning heat of flamethrowers and the screams of blood curdling death fill his ears as he helped the evacuation of Yavin as his eyes moved back to Master Dav Man'sell's eyes. . .
. . . .So many battles and death surround his tenure since his return to the Jedi Order several years ago. How can these stalwart keepers of the Order's wisdom wish this for themselves? Most of the members have bore witness to how much death-- how many Will could not protect or save. Will did not feel worthy for the position. His heart ached in the pain of the realization of that. . .
. . . he turned towards those visiting jedi awaiting the wisdom of the Council, all with varying levels of surprised and elation. His eyes met those of his travelling companion and Watch lead, Adi Matango; thought about the occasions they have fought side by side. Thought about those nights in the pubs and taverns; the briefing at Yavin; the trip over here. His mind flashed to the look of gratitude Adi gave him for Will's advice. . .
. . .Will's eyes jump to another Corellian master in the room, Kel'Al Raganella. Right before Will's gaze, Kel'Al's figure seemed to diminish in stature and dignity right before Will's eyes and left a much younger and jubilant Corellian Padawan the Master Son'tir had met all those years ago. Kel'Al, his onetime student, locked his gaze and gave cocked smile and a nod. Will can see that same smile on the much younger Raganella whom Will had spent untold hours with in training rooms; fighting techniques, meditation, battles ethics and philosophy. . .
. . .Will had touched these lives and many more; guided them; led them. Why stop now? . . .
Will's eyes locked back on to the image of Master Dav Man'sell, swallowed the spit that accumulated in his mouth and said,
"I do."
