"I will take my leave, then," he said with a slight bow at the waist, both hands open facing palm up toward the two men, "to requisition that help."
Backing away from Devlin and Arcturus with a wide step, Jerek immediately turned and did not break his stride. The doors were not far from him, now, and he was out them and gone within several heartbeats. There was far more to do than simple requisition and making phone calls; now, Jerek needed to meet with his operative in the lower city, to see if they could curtail an offensive on their home front.
Of course, he would have preferred to inform a Councillor of some manner about the operation, but he had wasted more than enough time on battle planning for the day. He would run put of time to respond if he tried to squeeze any more in. It would be enough to file a report afterward in the Jedi Intelligence Network and declassify the boring details for review.
After all, it wasn't necessary for everyone to know, all the time, every little thing. Except when it was Jerek. Knowing was his job.

Silently, Arcturus watched as the cloaked man disappeared through the council room doors - staring a hole into the mans back all the while. There was something off about him, something...strange. He was too polite for one - everyone in this room was bent out of shape in one way or form; even the resigned Devlin seemed concerned at putting Arcturus at ease...the man for all appearances was...normal. Too normal.
"...He's trying too hard to be inconspicuous," Said Arcturus aloud, to no one in particular; though Devlin would undoubtedly here him. "I have to wonder who he is...there's a deeper story there, somewhere."
Shaking his head, Arcturus smiled slightly and eyed Devlin.
"But that is not our job or concern. I should head to the hangars to do some prep work to my fighter...the upcoming battle will test our skill and resolve."
Arcturus took a big breath then, and slowly shook his head. Things were moving so fast...first Councilorship, then starfighter battles...what next? Sith lords? Destroying Super weapons? Probably.
"If you'd like to talk more on the finer details of the Exploration Corps - I'd be more than happy to. Again though, while I do some repairs and outfitting. Hangar four, the Owool."
With a brusk nod, Arcturus walked towards the big doors of the council room, and exited. Almost immediately, he felt a load come off his shoulders...the weight of professionalism, titles, and the vast paraphernalia and trappings of social circles and cliques of the accumulated Masters falling off like so many stones.
"Thank the Force that's over with."
With a snort, he entered a turbolift, and headed down to the hangars...

An incoming holographic call registered with the High Council spire, originating from the surface of Coruscant and approaching the temple at a slow speed.
::This thing- no, the red button. The red one. It turns on visuals. Yes I know what they say about pushing red buttons, but are you going to follow your master's advice for the rest of your life? What did I say? What'd I say? Too soon? Too soon? Oh kriff your sensitivity! Just push it you stupid little brat!::
The image appearing on the floor was not a very flattering one. A sandy-haired human doctor, tall and bony, his white coat torn in a hundred places while his scrubs seemed coated in ash, soot and dirt. His right arm hung from some kind of railing above his head while his face twitched and his free arm seemed to shake with the ship. The man looked more like a street junkie than any sort of Jedi or even a professional of any sort. The only thing which seemed to lend itself to any credentials this individual had to make this call were the occasional glimpses of figures in the background. Adolescents in Jedi padawan robes- wookiees, humans, a Miraluka, and a few others- shifted in and out of the holographic projection.
::Are we on? We're on? It turned green? Good. Quit your whining and buckle yourself back in. I didn't slip through a Mandalorian blockade to see you die of a broken neck. Hello and salutations from what's left of the Yavin IV medical team, oh high and mighty Jedi Masters! My name is Doctor Leviathan Rosenfield, medical liaison to the Yavin temple from Coruscant Naval Hospital, reporting in with my survivors of the siege. I've got eight living padawans aboard this transport, and I have a dozen Knights currently sealed in solid carbonite coffins to deliver to your order. I'm sorry if this isn't very sensitive, but I need to know where you want these bodies. The warm ones and the cold ones. I've got another three-hundred being off-loaded at the Naval hospital as we speak- Republic troopers and Jedi security personnel. But I've got all of your people with me- living and dead- right now. So where do you want 'em?::

The rough and rugged looking Corellian Jedi Master watched as his colleagues re devying up bureaucratic responsibilities, Will's usually piercing blue eyes now somehow have this pale glint to them. Seems as if everyone is ignoring the fallen, and these 'defenses' that the jedi are putting up are really helping this war come along. The Jedi have done nothing but burned and bled for the defense of the Republic and appeasing the ludicrous crusade that these Mandalorians are on. Something has to change.
And with the reports of untold multitudes of casualties coming onto the capitol world of the Republic, the Senate can no longer afford to ignore this. Nay, the entire might of the Republic can't afford to ignore this. But Will knew first hand what that meant, more bureaucratic tape to get around. Will had hopes as a High Council member that he could get up and over those hurdles. Now that Will is unshackled from those bonds, he can focus on change that can matter. For Dav. For Jago. For the untold casualties that have already suffered; and for those who will undoubtedly suffer soon.
Will makes momentary eye contact with Adi, then with Mike. The two battled seasoned Masters knows Will the most intimately than all these new Masters. The look in his eye might indicate to them that Will was preparing to do something stupid; that, perhaps, Will is about to conduct himself in a way that the Council would not sanction-- but would find necessary.
With nothing but a slight nod to the both of them, Will's eyes harden as he leaves the Council Chambers and out of the Jedi Temple. . . .

A message came through to both the Jedi High Council Chambers and the Senate Rotunda. Anyone who was absent from either location would have the message forwarded to their personal comm or holo devices. A holo image of the deminuitive Ewok Jedi Master known as Rawkill appeared before the messages intended audience =Jedi Master Rawkill= Greetings esteemed members of the Jedi High Council and the Galactic Republic Senate. I am Jedi Master Rawkill of the Council of First Knowledge. Today I came to you bearing grave news from the world of Yavin IV, formerly home of the Yavin IV Praxeum. As apart of my Council duties to ensure all Jedi archives were properly maintained and untampered by the Mandalorian Forces, under supervision of Republic Admiral Ju'unthor, I arrived to Yavin IV just moments ago to find GALSAF forces already waiting in orbit. As per Republic and Jedi customs, I greeted GALSAF and plainly stated my intentions with regards to maintaining and checking over the Jedi owned Archives. At which point GALSAF proceeded to try and stone wall my efforts. To ascertain that GALSAF would not take control of the joitnly owned Jedi/Republic Military Installation over Yavin IV, I contacted Master Diamonte Tuhlute who was my local contact at Yavin IV. He has informed me that GALSAF has somehow managed to take possession of the Jedi Archives, a fact that Admiral Staton of GALSAF further reiterated, and has informed me that GALSAF does not intend to hand over any data until they have perused it. It is my belief that they have malicious intent, a fact that Admiral Ju'unthor backs me regarding. With this in mind, Ander Tagira, Jethroe Staton and GALSAF have committed acts of terrorism against not only the Jedi, but the Republic as well, even now their forces seek to regain control of the Yavin Defence Station and intend to take control of the other temples located on Yavin. As such in accordance with Republic law, I will detain and arrest both Ander Tagira and Jethroe Staton, so that they may stand trial, and have ordered GALSAF to disband. At this stage I am confident the Republic Fleet with me will be more than enough, but I would like to request that any further assistance be on stand by to come assist. Master Rawkill out.

As it so happened, Rawkill's message did not need to be forwarded in the case of Councilor Jade as she was currently on Coruscant admiring the view from the windows of the High Council Spire as she meditated that morning. She turned back towards the center of the room as the Ewok Master's form appeared in the middle of the hologram projector and delivered his report on the state of affairs over Yavin IV.
She folded her arms, frowning as she gazed intently at the 3D figure that flickered once or twice before solidifying. Diamonte Tuhlute was on Yavin? Earlier on Corellia he had left her with the impression that he was seeking the life of a hermit for a time on Bakura, in spite of her attempt to persuade him to take on a more active role within the Order. Evidently he had listened. She hoped that it had not gotten him in too much trouble; however, with Master Rawkill and the fleet tasked to the Council of First Knowledge in orbit over Yavin currently, it seemed that the situation was under control.
Quickly she sent a confirmatory ping! acknowledging the receipt of his message back to Rawkill so that he would know he had been heard, and someone on Coruscant was standing by in case further developments required action.
Life on Coruscant was turning out to be a more hectic than the Corellian Master had at first thought likely. The first night in, she and her padawan had accompanied one of the Healers on a rescue mission into the Underworld late at night. In fact, soon Anshara would be out of the bacta tank if all went well. And perhaps they would find some answers there. Terra had not yet told her what had happened that night, though she was aware her padawan had carried on a conversation with a person unknown. And now...this news of the Yavin Praxeum. It looked like the issue that had been raised at the Council meeting that ushered in a new High Council was finally progressing, though the results remained to be seen.

Coruscant.... a giant ball of metal and sweat, somehow the traditional home of the jedi, wielders of the a power that surrounds the living things of the universe, there has to be a bit of irony in there somewhere. Of course I don't know much about irony... right? In any case I manage to avoid too much philosophical thinking as I make my way through the halls of the jedi temple. There has been more than enough time for thinking like that. Instead I let my thoughts drift to friend I've had and family I've loved, ignoring the fact that many of them are now gone. My mind clicks back into reality however as an emergency report comes in through my comlink. Running the extra few meters to the council tower I make it up to the top just as the report ends. Oddly enough I find a familiar figure already waiting for me in the room. I still had yet to interact with Jade enough to get a full understanding of the older woman but with her Work for Corellia and the Jedi in general it wasn't like she was a total stranger either.
Seems like the galaxy I still falling apart around us isn't it? I say, with an uncommon sense of solemnity in my voice. It's not that I joked about everything, but in truth I had just gotten tired of the galaxy's habit of being a little TOO serious. Speaking of witch I suppose it's time for a drink. With that I take a nice long swig from my flask as I step up next to Jade, looking out through the windows opposite us, out at the lives of the billions who didn't have to worry about anything more than what's for dinner tonight... Oh what a wonderful life that would be. I continue with my private musings as I wait for the other Master to respond to me.

"Entropy is a universal law. It wouldn't be reality if the galaxy was not falling apart around us," Jade replied, looking out at Coruscant's skyline, before turning to Mike Frantz. "There have been no further reports from Yavin IV, ostensibly implying that Master Rawkill's skillful use of initiative has managed to stabilize the situation." She folded her arms in front of herself, noting that Mike's ever-present flask had already made an appearance. "Recently arrived from Corellia?"

Taking another long drag from the flask I offer it toward the other master before replying. Indeed. It hadn't been a particularly unfamiliar journey, but it wasn't exactly something I was looking forward to either. Corellia is my home, no matter how much time I do or do not spend there, Coruscant on the whole other hand was another entity. I'd always felt out of place here. There was just something so unnatural. Sighing a bit I move my eyes off of the window to meet the eyes of my fellow Master. We never finished our conversation there did we? I say, switching to a more usual and lighthearted tone and letting my usual half-smile cross my face. It seems like you're in good health at least. That's something to be glad about.

"No, we didn't," she confirmed, taking the offered flask with her left hand. As she raised it to her lips and took a drink the light shining in from the large windows glinted off the Corusca gems in a ring on her hand. The whiskey however, was good. "And just in case you were wondering, I don't feel at home here either."
"I am well, thank you. Yourself?" she inquired politely. "Shortly after we arrived, Terra and I ended up running a medevac in the middle of the night to the Underworld." The diminutive female shrugged.

Taking back the flask and taking a long swig I tilt my head. Really? Maybe that's why I don't feel right here, there's just so much wrong. Shrugging slightly I make an encompassing wave out toward the rest of the temple. Why do I feel like we're not doing all that we can. Oddly enough my tone becomes much more subdued as I speak. Despite my normal jovial appearance, life has managed to weigh me down a bit. The last few years have been extremely trying. Deaths, injuries, and finally the destruction Carida have managed to crack my usual composure just a little bit. Dropping into the nearest chair and slumping down I take an extra long drink from the flask. It never seems to end does it? I say in almost a whisper, more to myself than to Jade.

"Perhaps you feel that you are not doing all you can, or that the Order as a whole is not doing all it can. But, I can certainly assure you that I have been busy to the extent of what most people would consider overwhelming." She handed him back his flask and considered him narrowly. He was one of the Corellians that so far, she had yet to see in person within the grounds of the Corellian Academy itself. However, she refrained from reading him the Riot Act, and instead began quietly pacing around the room's perimeter.
"What brings you to Coruscant?" She finally inquired.

Sensing just a little bit of bitterness in the other Master's tone I look up and take another long swig from my flask before standing up, shunting aside whatever may be going on in my head. There isn't time to worry about worrisome things. We had business in the galaxy. In truth I hadn't had any reason to come to Coruscant, just sort of felt the need to connect to the rest of the order after recent events, but that isn't much of a reason. now is it.
Just regrouping I suppose I say with a shrug. It seemed like a good time to try to connect to the rest of the order.

"I suppose," Jade replied, absentmindedly as she got a message from Mei informing her that Anshara had woken up and a situation was developing in the infirmary. She looked over at Mike, even as she commed Terra. "My padawan and I arrived a couple days ago, and almost immediately rescued an enigma from the underworld. It looks like she has woken up with a vengeance, care to accompany me to the Infirmary?" she invited him along, and then headed out of the Spire.

*Gavin had made his way through the halls of the Temple, unconcerned with the looks he got the whole way. He had no doubt that his presence made them edgy. After all, an unknown man walking through the Temple with a large sword on his back didn't give the best reassurance. But it didn't matter. All that did matter was getting himself set with the Jedi and getting to working helping the best he could.
He came to the Council Spire. He wondered who, if anyone, would be inside. Jade had mentioned a Master Nemo and Council of Reassignment. He still was in the dark about it all, but came here as he was instructed. Standing outside the Council doors, he took a breath, remembering his first time entering the council chambers on Yavin IV so long ago.*

Master Erik Steiner was walking through the Council Spire when he spotted Gavin. It was a strange sight indeed to see a man with a full length sword strapped across his back in the Temple. Most Jedi preferred lightsabers but some chose Jedi katanas but those were worn on the belt, not the back. The Sage Jedi studied the mannerisms of the man as he slowly approached, he was clearly waiting for someone or something. The Jedi decided to make himself useful.
"Good day and welcome to the Jedi Temple. My name is Master Steiner, is there something I can help you with?"

*Gavin was taken out of his thoughts at the sound of another's voice. Turning his head, he looked back to see another Jedi there. He was glad he hadn't waited too long for something to happen. He was slightly on guard at the moment anyway. Until things were sorted with the Jedi, he had to assume that things could go south quick. His ice blue eyes focused on him for a moment before he turned.
As he did, his trenchcoat opened slightly, revealing at least four lightsaber on his person, two clipped to his belt, another two in holsters on each leg. He also held a large pack over his vacant shoulder. His eyes softened slightly as he spoke.*
"I was told by Master Jade to meet with the Council of Reassignment. I've come here intending to aid the Jedi any way I can. She also mentioned a Master Nemo. " *Gavin gave a light bow to the Jedi.* "I am Gavin Phoenix."

Erik was not a stupid Jedi, he observed all around him and was well aware of how well armed Gavin was. However, he did not let this concern him, the man was in the Jedi Temple and apparently here to help.
"Ah yes, very good. There is a slight problem, Master Nemo is not currently on the planet at the moment, he is away on business. However he has appointed me to represent him on the Council of Reassignment. I have the feeling this is a subject for a more private conversation, would you care to follow me?"
Erik turned slightly and began to walk down the short corridor to the Reassignment Council chambers. He approached a set of double doors and opened them, walking through and waiting for Gavin. The room on the other side was similar to the room the High Council met in, only smaller and with fewer seats.

*Gavin nodded.*"Of course. Master Jade said he was away on business for a little while." *As Erik had thought, Gavin was here in attempts to help. Wasting no time, he made his way into the room after Erik.*

Erik took a seat, the one nearest him was identical to all of the others and he chose this one for simplicity. It was the second one in a small semi-circle of five. There were usually five jedi on the council of reassignment but currently none were on Coruscant. Hence Master Steiner was appointed to take care of business for them.
"Forgive me if I ask you anything you have already explained to Master jade but I am not Master Jade and therefore do not know your situation. What is it that's brought you to the Temple?"
The Jedi Master was already thinking about potential positions for Gavin, even before he knew about his situation.
