A comm line was opened to the orbital controlTalus orbital control, I am Valon of the Jedi Lords, requesting permission to land at the Temple of Karabor...He stood and waited. A lot of reports had emanated from Talus about the planet's instability in the wake of the Coalition's fall The Five Worlds were in political turmoil, to be sure, but basic military responsibilities such as the rote clearance of known ships to the surface were still in routine operation, albeit it with heightened tension and suspicion toward outsiders. After a few moments of static, a slightly suspicious voice came on the channel.=Talus Control=Jedi Lord Valon, we have not heard much from the Jedi Lords in some time. While I'm processing you througb the system, what is the nature of your visit to the Temple? In the background could be heard the noises of someone fumbling with a control board.

One of the crew checked the IFF for The Raven was on, broadcasting it's ID and the new verification codes from Lord Malvern to ensure the process was as smooth as possible. Their suspicion was understandable, and Valon was in no rush Sadly I am a new retainer of Lord Malvern, so cannot speak to their recent silence I'm afraid. But perhaps this contact will let them know you are well. As to the purpose of my visit: I wish to seek an audience with the Knights of Karabor, or failing that, examine the Temple and it's library. I believe those who constructed it are connected to my own people... What rare few of us that are left...

=Talus Control= Roger that, Lord Valon. Please stand by. Despite the apparently-clumsy operator, and two small 'crash'-es that were heard in the background, the ship's signature was quickly validated, and the codes confirmed. The controller had no further power of justification to prevent clearance, and if he let this take any longer, he was going to risk impeding traffic.
After a few seconds, the voice came back on the line, and in a flat, tired voice, recited the same lines he told every ship for eight hours day. Very well, Raven, you are cleared to land. I am attaching approach vectors for Dearic Spaceport and for the Temple of Karabor on the data stream. Please mind the restricted lanes and obey all speed restrictions. Enjoy your stay on Talus. He didn't really sound like he meant that last part, but maybe the controller was at the end of his shift. It was hard to know.

The approach vectors came through and the co-pilot got to work inputting the data into the nav computer to ensure they kept on the correct path. Valon gave a nod of his head Copy that Talus Control... The Raven closed the comm off and followed the approach vector down toward Dearic, but more specifically the Temple of Karabor. Whatever was going on, Valon did not intend to interfere. His ship was built for research and stealth

A lone CDF Assassin-class corvette, accompanied by a CC5000 frigate, both ships members of the of the small fleet that has been dispatched from Corellia to participate in the defense of the Double Worlds of Talus and Tralus, having separating temporarily from the ships that have remained nearer to Tralus, begin patrolling near the planet.
Two trios of HLAF-500 starfighters, one trio launched from the Assassin-class corvette while the other took flight from the CC5000's hangar, streak away from the larger ships and begin combat air patrols, one over the planet's northern hemisphere and the other over the southern.

Corellian Passenger Ferry - The KahmurraWhile the Corellians had accurate records of Talus's moons going back thousands of years, as a somewhat insular and xenophobic star system, occasionally the archives available to the galaxy at large were incomplete, and the full details of the planet's natural satellites were one of these gaps. It was one thing for the Corellians to provide data that they had collected themselves, and it was quite another thing for the galactic scientific community to accept this astrophyical data as fact. Independent confirmation was always needed. And it was one of these independent survey teams that had led CDF Lt. Mikells to her task today: Playing tour guide aboard a military transport cruiser as it orbited Talus along a course carefully chosen to achieve a flyby of each of Talus's moons. The alignment occurred no more than two or three times per year, and sometimes not at all for several years, so it was not to be wasted. =Lt. Mikells=The human female officer adjusted the comm attached to her stiff uniform collar as she looked back at the half-filled seats filling the back of the transport. No doubt this small a tour group could hear her without any amplification, but protocol was protocol, and the CDF was bound to treat every group the same way. "Thank you all for coming. My name is Lt. Mya Mikells, and I will be your tour guide on today's flyby of..."
