As Jaecyn spoke, a crooked smile had begun to spread across Kel'Al's face, and his eyes twinkled as if something had amused him. The timing of the Force was impeccable. Here he was, preparing to give his speech on the Ryloth crisis, and here Jaecyn was, practically confirming Kel'Al's own conclusions about the state of the Outer Rim. That shouldn't be too hard, Master Roma. He laughed, then eyed Jaecyn, smirking. You could not have picked a more appropriate time to mention this problem, or make your proposal. I am right this minute attending a charity event for the victims of the Ryloth crisis, and I have been asked to give a speech. He motioned behind him. That is why I am calling you from a dressing room on Coruscant.I do not know what the audience is expecting me to say, and the organizers left the choice of topic up to me. But I plan to give them an assessment that the Republic's vision is too small, and must be more fully focused on the protection of the galaxy, and not just one's comfort zones in the Core.He paused, catching himself as he remembered the question. But I am sure our boring political adventures and long-winded speeches will be all over the HoloNet News. To answer the question, yes, that should be very possible. Senator Koronov is somewhere out in the banquet hall, and I will send him a comm when I get a chance. I should warn you though, he is very busy. I am not sure when he will be able to come home to Corellia. The Senator was very busy trying to thwart the recklessness of politicians like Crom'nen and Khar, and worrying about the upcoming election for Supreme Chancellor. Riddick only received a whisper of the Ryloth incident, nothing more than "something happened here." It was, to him, an annoyance that he didn't always get the best information concerning things in his own neck of the woods, but at least there was something to go off of. It would be a bit of a gamble, but knowing of past response times, it might very well be a good one to offer some support.I can have critical manning spun up and ready to go inside of two standard days to render aid. It might be of benefit to both our causes to have seen an external entity, friendly to the Republic, reaching out, based on Republic information. That is, until your personnel are able to affect as reasonable an aid as we could. I will need more information on the matter, as I am less aware of the situation than you appear to be, and foot notes do not suffice. Jaecyn took another swig of his drink, before speaking again. And I understand that the senator is busy. That will not be a problem. I just need to speak to the man.

The holo image of Kel'Al Raganella narrowed his eyes every so slightly at the offer. He quickly realized that Jae must not be familiar with the details of the Ryloth situation, or perhaps the news had simply traveled slowly. The whole situation had tied the Senate and the Jedi in knots for weeks. The Corellian was almost jealous. He hated politics with a fiery passion. It wasted a lot of time.
I'm glad to know I can still count on you to move quickly, but I believe the immediate need for manpower is passed. The attack was over two months ago. Assistance in rebuilding might be welcome, but the main focus now seems to be on funding the rebuilding efforts, as well as acquiring new planetary defenses, and training the Twi'leks to defend themselves. He paused. He didn't want to dissuade Riddick from assisting the Twi'leks, despite the tone of his initial comments. Crom'nen's own personal motives could be questioned at times, but Jaecyn was smart enough not to fall for those sorts of deceptions. However, if you want to help, I am sure that Senator Crom'nen would welcome your offer. The quickest path would likely be to contact his Senate office on Coruscant.
He glanced back toward Serrin. Kel wondered what her feelings on the Twi'lek Senator were. He'd never asked her. But now wasn't the time for that conversation, either. They had gathered to discuss Jaecyn's proposal, and they were starting to slip off topic. Getting back to the topic at hand, you can absolutely count on the support of the shipyards on Corellia. I still have connections there, and the CEC board sees the Jedi as a valuable customer.

I still have connections there, and the CEC board sees the Jedi as a valuable customer. That is what I had in mind. Forty-eight hours is our government standard for any rapid response, from civil engineering all the way to military. We can have a team ready to go, to help you do just that. Jaecyn finishes the last couple bites of his dish, and washes it down with drink before reengaging in conversation. Having his own distaste for politics, himself, he knew that a fast response is a welcome change to the usual plodding around perceived as a standard, especially that Jaecyn was a leading political figure himself. He wasn't the only one who was keenly aware of the difference between a politician and a statesman, or that real leadership is far beyond the sitting behind a desk, but the views that he had were as rare as what shapped them. As for the shipyards, I knew I would have its support. Business, done right, is one of the freest things we all can engage in.

Clapping her furry hands together softly, Master Fervse'dra smiles toothily as she says, "Ach, as it sounds like ourrrr worrrk is done forrrr the time being, I hope you will nae mind excusing me Jaecyn. I have a class beginning shorrrrtly, the Bothan explains as she stands and adds, It is a pleasurrre to see you again, and I do hope I'll have the opporrrtunity to see morrre of you beforrre you leave." After a polite bow of farewell to all present, the Bothan leaves the dining area to make her way to her classroom.
Taking a sip of my tea, I tell Jaecyn, "We have long range communication available to you, should you need to communicate with your forces. Gesturing towards his plate with my free hand, I ask, Can I get you anything else? Looking towards the holographic image of Kel'al, I ask, As it may be some time before he returns to Corellia, do you think it would be possible to arrange for the senator to have a holographic conference with Jaecyn at his earliest convenience?"

Gesturing towards his plate with my free hand, I ask, Can I get you anything else? No, Jaecyn said, taking every prudent and polite effort to keep himself looking well kept. No, that was enough. My compliments to the cook. A little charred around the edges but I will not hold that against him. The rest of it more than made up for it. Having spoken honestly, with a twinge of pleasant jest, Jaecyn paused in speaking for a moment, taking the time to arrange the silverware to indicate that he was indeed finished with the meal. Besides, it seems that I have just come across some work that will need tending to. It should not be long, but I will want to get things started, and the sooner that happens, the smoother my discussions with your senator will be. Jaecyn gets up from his chair as he finishes speaking, to address the others at eye level. I will take leave, then, to make the preparations.

Jaecyn excuses himself, and briskly heads to a quiet corner of the room where he was not likely to be heard. He sent a coded dispatch to the proper elements with in his government and military regarding the relief and rebuilding efforts on Ryloth, and had made sure to have this message disguised, as all others he sent between him and his cadre, as background noise.

Inclining my head to convey my understanding of what he has said, I smile warmly after Jaecyn announces his intent to take his leave so that he may set his plans in motion, and say, "Until later, then."
Not long after Jaecyn has excused himself, I receive a message from our hangar crew that they have been alerted by orbital control of the impending, unplanned, arrival of a CR-90 corvette. Explaining the situation briefly to Rakella, I ask that she stay in the dining hall in case Jaecyn might have the need for anything after he has finished seeing to his affairs, and then excuse myself to make my way to the hangar to greet our unanticipated guest or guests.

The holographic image of Kel'Al Raganella nodded his assent to Serrin's proposal of a holographic conference with Senator Koronov. I will inform the Senator. But for now, I must go. I have a speech to give. He bowed to the gathered Masters, and shot a toothy Corellian grin at Jaecyn. Until next time, my friends. With a static-y flicker, the holo winked out of existence. The delegation of all this political poodoo to the Senators really was a more elegant solution, at least when you had a competent man like Koronov to do the heavy lifting. He had never for one moment regretted leaving politics behind, and he doubted that would ever change.

Arriving in the dining hall with the trio of Th'tremsi, I lead the way to a circular table large enough to comfortable accommodate us all and bid them to seat themselves before asking if any of them would like to have anything to eat or drink - Knight Sel, proving herself once again to be quite adept at hunting down any information she is asked to track down, contacting me telepathically not long after we enter the dining hall to inform me of what she has learned. Seating myself once the matter of refreshment has been decided upon - having learned from Knight Sel that a recent meeting of the High Council did in fact involve establishing, or more accurately re-establishing, a relationship between the Jedi Order and the Th'tremsi, as well as a few other pertinent details - I smile as I begin by saying, "Allow me to begin by asking that you all please accept my apologies for the rather regrettable lapse in communication between the High Council and our, or other academies. I have only just now learned, from our academy's administrator via telepathic communication, of the re-establishment of the alliance between the Jedi Order and the Th'tremsi. Allow me to say on behalf of all those Jedi here at this academy both how very glad we are to learn of the restoration of that alliance, and also to welcome you all here to Corellia."
Pausing briefly before continuing to allow the Th'tremsi to respond if they wish to do so, I continue after they have done so or have elected to remain silent, "If I may, I should like to turn briefly to the matter of your kind offer to add to our academy's security. Lifting a hand to gesture towards the dining hall, and by extension to the entirety of the academy, I smile as I say, As you have no doubt concluded for yourselves, the troop compliment you have arrived with is not only one that is far larger than our academy requires for it's security, but also one we could not hope to comfortably accommodate. While we most certainly appreciate the gracious offer, we trust you understand the reasons we must respectfully decline. Perhaps, I suggest with a smile, we might explore the possibility of having a smaller compliment - perhaps, for example, a squadron of twelve - remain with us to both train together as the Jedi and Th'tremsi have done in the past, and also to work with our existing security team of Jedi Knights and Masters?"

Aellemere, Avanoraa, and Altaaly followed Master Roma as she lead the way into the Dining Hall and over to a circular table. With the three women having eaten only recently, they all opted for a glass of water each. Aellemere had a drink as Master Roma spoke, before offering her a smile in return as she placed her drink back upon the table, as once more apologies were traded between the two groups. Certainly there were no two groups in all the galaxy that apologised for simple mistakes as much as the Jedi and the Th'tremsi, that was for certain Whilst unnecessary, your apology is most graciously accepted. And we thank you for your welcome, it has been some time since our two people were able to work together, and we shall most certainly make each other stronger with this reunion. It was then that the discussion turned to the matter of security. Certainly the academy was perhaps smaller than what either Aellemere or Avanoraa had expected, but if the situation called for it, there were supplies enough to construct and provide accomodation for the forces they would be leaving behind. But if the Corellian Jedi prefered a smaller garrison, then that was their decision, though all said and done, even if they required additional reinforcements for what ever reason, Talus and Tralus was only a short trip through the system away, and The Draenor would always be able to travel back relatively quickly If you feel that such a small force is all you require, then we will most certainly be happy to oblige your request. General, do you care to add anything?
If you would be amenable to it, I would also like to leave behind a pair of AT-RTs and a Fighter Tank. it would be most remiss of me, as a General, to not ensure I provide you with the best security possible.

Nodding gratefully to convey that I both understand and share her sentiments when Aellemere expresses her belief that our two groups are certain to strengthen one another now that they have reunited, I am relieved when she then voices no discontent with the idea of leaving a smaller security force than they had initially believed might be needed to bolster the academy's defense. Turning my attention then to the General when she is asked whether or not there is anything additional she would like to add, I smile with a nod of assent after she has asked whether there might be any objection to the addition of a pair of AT-RTs and a fighter tank to the forces that will be joining our own security team, "If you feel the vehicles would enhance the academy's security, I see no reason they should not become an additional addition."
With the matter of the size of the security force that shall be joining our academy settled, I turn to a related subject that may also help me to learn more of our new friends, first stating, "When we have concluded our meeting, I shall have Knight Ashton, the head of the academy's present security team, join us so that he might meet with your squadron and show them around the academy, as well as introduce them to those Jedi Knights that work alongside him to see to the academy's defense. Lifting my left hand as Tchin, my right lekku, swishes behind my back to coil its tip around my hip, in a gesture of invitation to share openly, I tilt my head to the side inquisitively and ask, Are there any accommodations me can make in order to help your people feel more at home here at the academy? I must confess that, while I hope to learn much more as well as intend to soon do all I can to alleviate my ignorance, I know little of Th'tremsi culture and customs."

General Avanoraa gave a nod when Master Roma voiced no bojections to the additional vehicles, before sending a message up to The Draenor in orbit, requesting the couple extra troops and vehicles to be brought down. By the time the meeting was done with, the transports would have made their trip down to the surface to drop off the reinforcements. Meanwhile, Aellemere turned her attention to the Jedi Master's next question Aside from their armour and weapons, our warriors require only a statue of Ashla to feel at home, and that has already been included amongst the supplies that will be left behind. To be quite honest, our two people are not all that much different, except that where the Jedi consist of many races, we are but one people, bound to the force for our existence...

With his call concluded, Riddick made a move for the hangar, by way of his guest quarters, but not before passing by Serrin on the way out. With a glance in her direction, I reach out with the Force. I will be returning to the homeworld, as there are things of consequence I must tend to. You have ways to contact me if something arises requiring my attention. May the Force be with us all. Riddick keeps moving with a determined clip, having sensed something vaguely inimical to what he as trying to do, more instinctual a feeling than a premonition, but then he wasn't the kind to give up on a gut feeling.

Aside from their armour and weapons, our warriors require only a statue of Ashla to feel at home, and that has already been included amongst the supplies that will be left behind. To be quite honest, our two people are not all that much different, except that where the Jedi consist of many races, we are but one people, bound to the force for our existence... Nodding to convey my understanding after Aellemere explains what accommodations would make those of her people that will be remaining at the academy feel more at home, I then listen with open interest to her answer to the second half of my question; eager to learn all that I can of the Th'tremsi from her. Tilting my head to the side at an inquisitive angle after Aellemere has completed her answer, revealing her belief that the Jedi and Th'tremsi share many qualities, differing only in that the Th'tremsi are one people where the Jedi come from many species and cultures, and that the Th'tremsi are bound to the Force for their existence; the latter part of her answer somewhat unclear in meaning to me, though I do not press for clarification at the moment out of respect for both time and decorum in case my questions might become tiresome.
With a smile, I say, "Well, I shall most certainly look forward to learning more of the similarities between the Jedi and Th'tremsi as the bond between our two groups grows stronger. Lifting a hand in a gesture of invitation to speak freely, I then ask, Are there any questions I might answer for any of you? Or shall I have Knight Ashton join us in the hangar so that he and your people might meet, and then help them to get settled in?" I will be returning to the homeworld, as there are things of consequence I must tend to. You have ways to contact me if something arises requiring my attention. May the Force be with us all. Maintaining the telepathic link between our minds after Jaecyn has made me aware of the fact he has business on his homeworld requiring that he depart sooner than he might have initially intended, I telepathically communicate to him that I understand his need to depart, and that I wish him well in all his affairs. Adding my hope that Ashla guide and guard him until we meet again, I bid him farewell for now before releasing the telepathic link between our minds.

Aellemere glanced from Avanoraa to Altaaly, before retuning her attention to Master Roma as the three women came to an agreement on how to proceed Nothing that Knight Ashton will undoubtedly cover in the briefing. Certainly though, if you would like to, whilst Knight Ashton briefs Commander Altaaly and her warriors, I would not be opposed to continuing our own discussions here? But if our presence is required, then I shall follow your lead... It seemed that Rawkill was not the only Jedi eager to learn more about the Th'tremsi, and Aellemere was more than happy to indulge the curiosity, especially if it meant that the Jedi might learn something about their new warriors that would help them utilize them better. Although she was sure that Master Rawkill was already updating the Jedi Archives with the knowledge he had gained, it was most assuredly better to learn such things first hand where possible

Smiling with a shake of me head when Aellemere asks whether I might have any reservations about allowing Knight Ashton to welcome and acclimate the Th'tremsi that will be joining our academy as a part of the security team charged with protecting the academy and its residents, I say, "I believe Knight Ashton is quite capable of welcoming our new additions, and seeing that they are settled in. If you will give me a moment to let him know he can meet your people in the hangar, we can continue our own discussion here as you suggested?"
Excusing myself after the Th'tremsi indicate they do not object, I contact Knight Ashton by comlink to fill him in on what has happened, and to task him with meeting the Th'tremsi squad of twelve that will be joining his security team. After Hyatt has conveyed that he understands what has been asked of him, I return my comlink to its pouch on my belt and then make my way back to my seat.
Sitting down after apologizing for the interruption, I smile and open my hands in front of me as though inviting questions or comments while asking, "Now then, where were we?"

=Theomiir Starstrider=His first months as a Jedi Knight had passed reasonably quietly, but as he approached his 19th birthday, Theo knew that the peace and quiet Corellia and the Jedi had experienced would not last. He could not afford to become complacent. It would not be long before the Force would lead him to some new task, either here at home, or on some distant world. As he picked over the breakfast buffet in the Academy cafeteria, loading his plate with pastries and fruit, his mind was elsewhere, focused on his studies. He had discovered many texts on animal friendship among the Jedi archives, but he had not yet discovered an active, living Master that could aid him in his studies with some hands-on expertise. He hoped that he would be able to catch one of the Masters with some free time today, and seek guidance on the subject. =Theomiir Starstrider=Finishing his breakfast, Theo stood up, and slowly crossed the cafeteria once more, depositing his empty plate into the automated dish sanitizer. His mind still on his studies, and the opportunity to discuss it with a Master, the young Knight scanned the dining area. It was well past the normal meal rush, and the room was nearly empty, aside from Master Roma and a group of near-human visitors of a species he did not recognize. They seemed to be deep in conversation, and he was reluctant to interrupt. But then, his comlink buzzed, and he forgot all about his studies for the moment. The only problem was what to do about Arkania, and how to keep his other project moving forward. Exiting Starnet, Kel'Al opened a direct line to the Jedi Academy on Corellia, and sent a brief message to Theomiir Starstrider, his sister's former student and one of the Knights Kel'Al trusted to keep secrets, no matter who asked. Knight Starstrider, I need you to join me on Arkania right away. I am attaching initial data on my recon of the Guardian Temple. I must warn you, this is a place of pain, and death. But I need your help. Theo let out an audible gasp as he viewed the description of the destruction on Arkania, but then he took a deep breath, and sent back an acknowledgement ping to Master Raganella. He would come, of course, and with all speed. New purpose coming into his steps, the young Knight from Garqi turned and exited the cafeteria, almost hurrying toward the hangar.

Commander Altaaly gave a bow of her head, before taking her leave and heading off to the Hangar Bay to join her warriors in the briefing. Aellemere offered forth a smile as she took a brief drink before Master Roma returned from updating Knight Ashton Learning about one another, I believe. I will admit, I am curious to learn of the Academies history, since things here were rather different when our People last had dealings with the Jedi Order...

Nodding with a smile when reminded of the topic we had been discussion previously, I say, "Ah yes, of course . Pursing my lips in thought and canting my head to the side at a reflective angle after asked of the history of the academy here, I pause a moment to collect my thoughts before beginning my reply, The history, at least of the academy here on Corellia, began a little over thirty years ago when Jedi Masters Hunt, Coral, and Carter founded it to train future generations of Jedi after helping free Corellia and her people from Sith oppression. I feel a wistful smile rise on my lips briefly as I speak of Masters Hunt and Coral - who are, beyond a doubt, two of the more influential beings in shaping me into the Jedi I am today - and pause a moment to indulge in reminiscence of my old Masters and friends, one who has joined with the Force while the other has retired from the Order. With a faint shake of my head to focus once more on the subject at hand, I continue, While the original three Headmasters of the academy have all moved on, their influence still remains quite strong, living on in those, like myself, they trained and shared their wisdom and knowledge with. Our academy has grown, over time, into one that focuses predominantly, though certainly not exclusively, on the training of healers and Consulars."
My right lekku, Tchin, curls upwards and coils around my bicep as I lift my left hand and gesture at the walls around us with a smile while saying, "There are other tales in the academy's history, naturally, but that is the broad strokes version of its history to date. Turning my left hand so its palm faces upwards, I gesture towards our guests in invitation as I ask with gentle rather than aggressive curiosity, What of the history of the Th'tremsi? What has happened to occasion your return after now, after our two peoples were separated for so long?"

Corellia under the hold of Sith? That was most certainly a surprise that neither Aellemere or Avanoraa had been expecting. It was good to hear that the academy had been reestablished as a less reclusive enclave then what it once was. He expression took a slightly more solemn tone as the topic turned towards the Th'tremsi's return to galactic society. They had done a lot of good since their reappearance, with Talus and Tralus both having benefitted greatly from the rise of the new government Well, after the rise of the empire, and the near total destruction of the Jedi Order, we went into hiding to avoid our people's destruction, and remained that way for some time. In our absence, evil was allowed to fester throughout the galaxy, and now we have come out of hiding to stand proudly in the light once more and over come those with dark designs. We can already sense the rising darkness through the force, and it cannot be allowed to regain the hold it once had under Darth Sidious...
