Dazbog seemed a bit saddened at the Rakata's pass on the offer of food. He slaved over his kitchen twenty four seven to make everything by hand. Then he stored it for safe keeping where he could materialize it whenever and where ever he needed it to be.
"Surprised? No. I'm too old to be surprised. At least by the reappearance of a dead species."
Dazbog coughed to clear his throat. He felt he just let the elephant out of the bag.
"There might be a few left. One can never be certain. They just haven't made themselves known. It's so hard to tell when a species is actually extinct, and when they're just hiding. You may very well be the last of your kind. If you'll accept some advice, don't follow the same path they did. Make your own. If you plan on returning to the Universe at large, that is."
His cheerful face had turned serious. The return of the Rakata could either be a blessing or a curse. One was hardly a threat, at least to Tython, but it might bring fear to others. An end of days scenario for all those Rapture Believers.
"Tell me. What drew you here? I'm hoping it was the delicious aroma of my freshly ground coffee?"

"Power, wisdom, knowledge. The pull of omniscience. The burden of that weight. The chains that bind you and hold you up. As ancients go, the whills are not the only ones to have seen the gravity of the stars and how it directs life among the swirling and turning islands in the cosmic mire." She looked at her clawed hands again, 6 fingers of gray brown dexterity. She had never been among these stars. This was a new place to her, she could feel it, but still she understood what she looked like. It didn't take long for her to understand the history as it moved through her like air through lungs. She should give them a name to call her, but this was not her set of stars, she was a stranger to this place. It would not do to use the name she had been known as back where she was created. "Be stilled, bearded one. You can call me Niah. The place I am from, my people carried a different heritage. We enslaved, we were cruel, but I see here they went down a much more bloody path. I am not interested in walking their path."

Dazbog raised an eyebrow at the nickname Bearded One. He liked it, though he feared Odin might be offended. He was the big beard.
"Call me Dazbog, Niah. Resident Coffee God, and all around happy go lucky Devourer of Granola."
Dazbog ended the sentence with popping a handful of granola into his mouth, and munched on it for a few moments before continuing.
"So what are your plans, Niah? We could always use another Agent to act as our eyes. Our most recent one recently embraced the æther. What do you think, Eralam? I know you're no longer one of us, technically speaking, but I'd like your input."
Dazbog turned his head to his older brother, awaiting an answer.

Eralam snorted. It sounded like a truck with air brakes venting pressure.
"I'd say you both could learn a thing or two about trusting ancient beings with immeasurable power and why it's almost never a good idea, but that's just me."
The Shard produced a bottle of liquor and passed it towards the newcomer, as if to challenge her to put his assertion to the test. The was nothing wrong with it or its contents, mind. Make of that what you will.
"I am curious as to what you have in mind, Dazbog. This one isn't of our universe, at least not wholly. What possible use could you be to each other?"

Dazbog shook his head and scoffed at Eralam's comments.
"The same purpose Jud'dayus served. I never said anything about giving her power. You should know enough about me to know that's not my schtick. But the fact remains that we need a new set of eyes out there. Whether they come from our Universe or one made of rainbows and leprechauns is irrelevant..."
Dazbog paused at that thought and then turned to Niah.
"Your Universe isn't made of rainbows and leprechauns...is it?"

"No. It is made of much the same stuff as yours, stardust and dreams, agony and angst."In her grasp, the liquor mellowed to something palateable for her, and she added a bit to the coffee sitting in front of her. Perhaps it would lessen the bitterness of the brew, as her tongue was not used to such things. She set the bottle back on the bar, her hands once again bringing the cup to her lipless mouth to drink gingerly and not spill the concoction all over herself. The cup was not suited to the features of a Rakata. "I am not suited to immeasurable power. I seek only to be free of the prison I have occupied for the last several thousand years. Time has stretched on long enough for me within the confines of that place. Only by casting my mind out to the galaxy around me have I eluded madness. I have long been an distracted observer of this realm. What further would you ask of me? My powers here are useless. I am only whole now here because of your power and my knowledge of how to manipulate it."

Dazbog eyebrow was lowered only a moment before the same serious look as before fell upon his face.
"And when you are free from your prison, what shall you do then? Not to seem rude or cruel, your kin are dead. You are quite possibly the last of your kind. As an Agent of the Whills you will have purpose. We do not ask you do anything but watch. Act as you see fit. Your life will be lonely, your path may very well lead to darkness, but I believe you may be used to it."
Dazbog stood up and paced to the bar, and back to his stool. His eyes were slightly duller than before. Teh jovial twinkle was gone, for now.
"Recording the events of the Universe for us, is no light task. I do not expect you to take it, but I offer it none the same. Many before you have taken this path, and sentient beings greater than you have come and gone. The task is great, sometimes dangerous. But the reward...."
Dazbog smiled knowingly, the twinkle returned to his eyes.

Tired of trying to drink from a cup made for humans, she allowed the pull of the force tug at the lip of the contain and draw it out to a more flat and elongated spout, better for pouring the drink past the sharply pointed teeth she had. Setting the cup back on the bar in front of her, she stacked the thrice fingered hands back on her lap. "I accept your offer. I will be your eyes, so that I might see this galaxy for what it is. And what it is not. However. You must free me from the vault on Lehon and that is no easy task." Tugging on the tendrils of the godlike powers so ensconced on the planet, she used them to create a projection of the ruins of a temple on Lehon, and walked them through the intricacies of the problems of freeing her. "This is all that remains of the Temple of Chaos that once stretched towards the heavens. Beneath it, concealed by hidden doors and passages is another eternity vault. Those entombed here were violent and unhinged, the unpredictable who wrought destruction and sought to topple the greatness of our empire. My sisters and I were the volunteers who choose to be entombed with them, to keep them in check. To act as their wardens. A great deal of strife befell Lehon, the crumbling empire lost the temple and Lehon and with the defeats, the temple was destroyed. Part of it collapsed in and killed our charges and my sisters. I alone am all that is left of them. I cannot get out of the temple on my own, I need your help. Release me from my eternal prison and I will do as you ask."

Dazbog sat back down and continued drinking from his special chibi Dazbog mug. He spoke in between sips.
"Do you want the quick and easy way out, or do you prefer the long and drawn out way? All it takes is a snap of the fingers, and you'll be free. Otherwise....we will need to enlist others to help release you."
Dazbog took a deep gulp as he waited for Niah's reaction.

Eralam was of the opinion that magical snapping would defeat the point somewhat, but he kept his voicebox shut. He had offered his opinion, now it was on those two to work out their deal.
Instead, he summoned a bottle of Black Cask from his private stores and poured a couple of fingers into a glass. The means by which he drank actually could be described. A heating element converted a small portion of the liquid to gas, which was then forced through a spectrometer to analyze the composition. The rest of the liquid was forced through a fuel cell that would convert it to energy. The appropriate taste and effect was passed along to the droid brain. He was quite proud of the system, and had often sent blueprints along with agents of the Shard Network. Such a device was a valuable commodity in both the droid and Shard communities.

She couldn't exactly frown the same way a human could; her eyes were not under a boney brow ridge, they were on a pair of stalks on the side of her head. There were no eyebrows to display her disdain. Instead, she breathed out slowly and let the projection dissolve in front of her. "You are new to the rescuing a lady business I take it. In these stories, you are supposed to go through great peril to free the maiden from danger. But, you are the one with the ability to release me. If you choose the easy way, that is your prerogative."

Dazbog simply shrugged.
"It is not my place to go around rescuing rather fetching females anymore. When I was younger, however, I used to slay many a beast to get past a lady's undergarments."
Dazbog chuckled at the memories, and then realized he had said too much, he cleared his throat and put a big handful of granola in his mouth to cover up the apparent slip.

She waved away his excuses, a wary eye turned to the robot sitting quietly next to her. Such power, such a boring lack of adventure and finesse. But it was what it was. Couldn't be helped. The fates were strange in this place, the ebbs and flows moved differently than she was used to. The cave in of the temple that held eternity at bay had damaged their realms, ripping the fabric of separate dimensions open and sewing the wrong edges back together. She would never feel the currents of her own universe again but perhaps through these strange creatures, she could find use here. "Do as thou will. I am merely the imprisoned, not the leader of this expedition."

Eralam sighed.
"Get Chilly-poo to redo my chambers and I'll give it a go."
The Shard stood and stretched, mechanical joints popping and groaning in a disturbingly organic fashion.
"I'm not saying you guys lack a sense of adventure, but you guys lack a sense of adventure. Seriously, when was the last time you got into a bar brawl?"
His form shimmered and shifted to that of a tall, lanky human wearing tan boots, jeans, and a black T-shirt that proclaimed, in plain letters, "I am comfortable with violence." Around his waist was a leather pistol belt, studded with .45 Long Colt cartridges. On the left hip was the bearer of such cartridges, a converted Colt 1851 Navy. On the right was a sword, technically an espada ropera, but called a rapier by most. Over it all was a long canvas duster, faded with time and repaired so often it was hard to tell where the patches and stitching began and where the coat ended.
"I'm not what one might call subtle, and I don't pack the punch I did as a Whill, but I reckon I'm bored enough to give freeing an ancient, potentially dangerous being from a prison that's nearly as old as Dazzie's granola."

"A champion emerges." She glanced between the bearded one and the suddenly squishy one cautiously. Wrinkles creased up around her mouth, a strange look of contemplation in her crimson eyes. "I do not think you will be able to accomplish this feat alone if you no longer possess the power of the bearded one. But if you wish to make the effort, I will aid you in any way I can from the inside." She turned her attention back to Dazbog, taking a sip of the coffee. The concoction was starting to grow on her. "Will I see you upon my release or will I need to be brought back here to receive my orders?"

Dazbog set the coffee mid-air and stood up, walking behind the counter of his shop and fumbling around for a minute before coming back up, holding a small spherical device in the palm of his hand.
"There is little need for me to be there. This will help you along the way."
The sphere glowed bright green, and floated slightly above his hand. He held it out to Niah.
"This is a Lorekeeper. It will help you record everything that you see, and some things that you don't. It will update our records. You are the first to actually receive one, so if it malfunctions be sure to let us know."
Dazbog tapped the sphere with his other hand, and the light faded, and it stopped floating, resting back down on his palm.
"Be wary of letting your position be known to others. If anyone asks, make something up. You are there to observe among all else. Where ever you go, where ever you are, the Lorekeeper will transcribe it. You can add your own thoughts into it as well."

She motioned for Eralam to take it from Dazbog, her explanation directed at the bearded one. "I cannot accept that, it is merely my mind here. My physical body is still trapped on Lehon. I will keep it secret. I will keep it safe." She looked to the robot turned human, arrayed with a mess of ancient weapons. "I suppose it is time we undertook this endeavor. May chaos fall in your favor."
Niah stood and stepped away from the bar, something of a smile on her face as she dissolved into nothingness.

Eralam nodded and popped the sphere in a pouch.
"Well, I best be off. I'd be a fool to try this by myself. Got some recruiting to do. Anyway, remember what I said about the chambers."
And just like that, he was gone, leaving behind only the fragrant smell of burning pipe tobacco.

Dazbog paused, trying to speak, but everyone had already left, Eralam taking the Lorekeeper. He sighed and shook his head.
"No one cares to ask any questions about the mysterious device or its bonding abilities."
Shrugging Dazbog returned to taking care of his Coffee shop, starting with dusting, and then moving on the mopping.
"Not to mention its other functions."

*Just coming up to the door of the café Mórrígan catches a glimpse of the unmistakable form of An Tiarna, surrounded by IF troops. Some ships are in the air too but all concentration is momentarily lost as earth the earth shakes under her feet, an earsplitting ring sounds out and a dark mushroom cloud lifts up from the surface. Opening the café door rather clumsily with books in hand and concentrating on the black cloud she mutters*
"Seanathair...."
*Mórrígan disappears into the café. She smiles at the cashier saying*
"Double double, strongest brew you have and could you make it a wee bit Irish, led do thoill"
*The cashier, still some shook up from the blast beyond stirs up a extra large coffee then looking to each side slips a bottle from underneath the counter pouring a stiff shot on top and hands it to the exceptionally pretty but rather ghoulish looking girl with a wink*
-Cashier-
"Sorry dear, this establishment does not condone alcoholism.... On the house. Would you like some blood to go with that?"
*At that Mórrígan laughs taking the cup turning and walking away with these words sits at a table by a window back to the wall and begins to strum the volume
"Go raibh maith agat"
