Sango! We have company! Sango! Sango, having been preparing a batch of jerked dewback meat when Dee shouts to let him know that they have company, is wiping his hands on a dish towel as he enters the cockpit and asks, "From the tone in your voice, my dear, I take it our visitors are not . . ." and trails off as AVI's voice comes from Dee's comm and answers his question:::Attention: Delivery successful. Position compromised. Security forces at my location . . . Security forces at the ship's location.:: Sango, holding his furry chin in his right hand, sounds as calm as he appears as he says, "Hmmm, if the CSF is there as well as here, it suggests that we're who they're after rather than whomever Nkosana and AVI made the delivery to, wouldn't you agree my dear? Well, he frowns as an alternate possibility presents itself, I suppose that the two events might be unrelated. Coincidences do happen from time to time after all. So, I suppose we have to choose between trying to make a run for it, if we decide it is unlikely that the CSF's arrival here is not unrelated to their being where AVI and Nkosana are, or, if we instead . . ."
Saving Dee from any more of Sango's deliberation, Fumnanya's voice comes over the comm, We assume the worst. Assume they have at least an idea of what we're up to here, and probably have images of everyone that was outside of the ship after we set down. Dikeledi, you and Vejide split up. They'll be looking for two females together if they observed us all leaving, so it will hopefully throw them off if you split up. Dee, if you think you can get away from the landing pad and lose the CSF, do it. If not, try and bluff your way out of getting detained or arrested. Say you took everyone that is not aboard as passengers for extra credits, deny any knowledge of who we are or what we're really here for. AVI, Nkosana, try and lose the CSF at your position. Find somewhere to hole up until we know how things with Dee turn out. Everybody stay cool, we can get through this.
Sango looks at Dee and, unflappable as ever yet clearly of the opinion that her assessment of the situation and what it calls for from the two of them, asks, "Well, my dear, what do you think? Those interceptors are unarmed, but more maneuverable than we are down here. Do you think there is any chance at all that we might be able to lose them?"<<GO GO I WILL COVER YOU>> Having frozen up when the CSF made their appearance on the scene, calling for the Zabrak and his minions to put their hands on their heads while the wailing of sirens came from outside of the tapcafe, their lights strobing and illuminating everything inside the tapcafe in alternating red and blue shades, Nkosana snaps out of his paralysis when AVI shouts for him to go.
Though panicked, Nkosana draws his DC-17 shotgun from its scabbard as he slides out of his seat and then crouches down to peer outside of a window facing the front of the tapcafe to assess the scene. Fumnanya comes over their comms as Nkosana is taking a deep breath in preparation of making a run for the ship while AVI covers him, ordering them to try and throw off the CSF's pursuit. "Easier, like, said than done, Nkosana mutters, and then calls out to AVI, We need to lose them, find a way down to the lower levels or something! Let's go out the back, try and lose them in the alleys where those Panthers can't follow us!"
Shouldering a service droid out of his way, Nkosana leaps onto the counter of the bar between the dining area and the kitchen, sliding across it and then continuing into the kitchens. Dodging panicked kitchen and serving staff, Nkosana barrels through the kitchen, pin-balling off shelves of dishes and ingredients that clatter and clang behind him as he searches for the door leading into the alley behind the tapcafe. Pausing when he finds the door, glancing over a shoulder to see if AVI is following or trying to save their clients from being taken into custody, Nkosana takes a deep breath and kicks the door open. Listening briefly for any reaction to the door opening, Nkosana then goes through it in a crouch, DC-17 shotgun at the ready as he pans left and then right to make sure the alley is clear in both directions.

The unexpected and rapid approach of the street sweeper and subsequent collision with the Panther police interceptor causes the momentary confusion that AVI sought, the Coruscant Underworld Police officers in the airspeeder protected enough by their armor and helmets that their injuries are minimal even though both are understandably rattled and sore. Savvas, in the passenger seat of the airspeeder, finds that his door is not able to be opened due to how the frame of the vehicle crumpled, but his partner, Minoru, is able to kick the driver's side door open and, kneeling behind the door for cover, sights in on the Zabrak that has upped the ante by opening fire and, aiming for his shoulder, fires a bolt from his heavy blaster before ducking behind the airspeeder's door in time to avoid being hit by a pair of bolts fired towards him by the Rodian.
Call for backup! Raniero shouts to Saibh as he crouches behind the cover of his speederbike as blaster bolts fired by the Zabrak and the uninjured Aqualish hiss by overhead or sizzle into the side of his bike.
No go, Saibh calmly shouts back over the sound of her exchanging blaster fire with the Aqualish with the head injury. Comms are on the fritz.
Behind the tapcafe, Nkosana's glance left will reveal only a dumpster while that to his right will afford him the daunting sight of the second Panther police interceptor with its doors open and, behind the doors, two Coruscant Underworld Police officers with blaster pistols drawn and pointed at him. Basma, the officer on the right, steadies her aim as she shouts out, Freeze dirtbag! Drop your weapon and get on your knees!
Basma's partner, Korbl, spots the shotgun Nkosana is carrying and, having heard the shots and crash from the front of the tapcafe and possessed of the short temper and intolerance for crime many Coruscant Underworld Police officers share, decides to minimize the chances that he or Basma wind up wounded or worse should the bearded scumbag decide to engage them, firing a trio of blaster bolts, two for Nkosana's chest and the third for his head.
Officer Janda, when there is no reply from the YT-2400 or any indication that anyone inside is coming out, tells Wiater and his partner, on the ground, No movement. Keeping the airspeeder's spotlight on the area where the light freighter's boarding ramp would lower, Janda tells his partner, Cover them, and then as his partner unholsters his blaster and leans out the window to cover the boarding ramp, tells Wiater, Try and breach it, we've got you covered.
Cursing as, his blaster drawn, he motions with his chin to tell his partner they will head for the ship and start trying to find a way to access and override the boarding ramp controls, or failing that, use charges to blow the boarding ramp entrance, Wiater starts approaching the ship as Janda's voice repeats more forcefully than before, Coruscant Security Force! Exit the freighter now with your hands on your heads! You have thirty seconds to comply or you will be boarded by force!

The Zabrak winces as the blaster bolt fired by one of the CSF officers hits him in the shoulder, causing him to stagger and throwing off his aim as he continues firing at one of the speederbike officers across the street in an effort to keep him and his partner from being able to set up a crossfire with the officers that were in the Panther that was hit by the truck. If he and his crew can keep the CSF officers pinned down long enough for one of them to reach their airspeeder, which is parked across from the tapcafe and somewhat unfortunately currently located between the two CSF speederbike officers, the Zabrak is fairly confident that they can lose the CSF and any reinforcements that arrive on the scene before they can reach the speeder.
Ducking into the recessed doorway of a decrepit, moss enshrouded commercial building, the Rodin pauses to catch his breath and then peers out from around the corner of the doorway to spray several blaster bolts at the CSF officers in or around the wrecked Panther to deter them from moving too far from their smoking and crumpled airspeeder. The Aqualish who had been hit by flying debris is spared from the blaster bolt fired by the second CSF speederbike officer when the other Aqualish, weighed down by the bags Fumnanya and AVI had delivered to them, shoves him aside before firing wildly at the female CSF officer to try and pin her down.
Nksoana's eyes widen as he spots the CSF officers behind the doors of the Panther in the alley, and the adrenaline rush the sight produces causes him to react more bravely and boldly than he might have if he had tried to formulate a more calculated response. Ducking down and, with the first shot fired by the trigger-happy officer smacking into the wall beside him, leaping forward towards the door of the Panther nearest to where he emerged from the tapcafe after firing a blast from his DC-17 shotgun into the Panther's windshield in the hopes of getting the officers to get under cover in a way that doesn't involve injuring either of them, Nkosana hits the door with a shoulder as one of the blaster bolts fired by the officer behind it whooshes overhead, hoping to knock the officer down to give him at least a moment to figure out how to deal with the officer's partner.

While Minoru finds himself pinned down behind the door of his wrecked airspeeder, his partner, Savvas, clambers into the backseat since he cannot get out of the passenger side door, and then forces the rear driver's side door open so that he can join the fray. Deciding that they have issued enough warnings to the scum that are currently demonstrating a level of unit cohesion not expected from street criminals and trusting his armor to protect him, Savvas rises behind the rear door and, heavy blaster in a two handed grip, takes the time to line up a shot for the Rodian's chest before firing twice.
Raniero, after calling out to his partner to cover him, rolls onto his belly beside his speederbike to present as small a target as possible, and opens fire on the Zabrak, aiming for the horned bastard's center mass. As Raniero starts firing, Saibh rises on one knee behind her speederbike so that, as she covers her partner, she has some cover herself while she sends a blaster bolt towards the chest of the Aqualish with the bags and then another, less well aimed, towards the chest of the other Aqualish.
Korbl, thrown onto his back when the fast and lucky bearded scumbag rams into the door of the airspeeder, curses as he lifts and swings his heavy blaster to the front to cover himself in case the bearded skel is coming around or over it. On the other side of the speeder, Basma, having ducked down when the shotgun blast roared out and was followed by the almost musical tinkling of glassine shards from the airspeeder's windshield falling on the ground or the hood of the airspeeder itself, takes a deep breath and moves forward so that she has the hood as cover when she pops up and looks for where the perp has gone, firing a shot over the door Korbl had been behind to deter the perp from getting up when she does not immediately see him.

AVI, standing at the doorway to the cafe, was amused at how distracted the officers were with the four out front. Their client and his crew seemed to have sufficiently distracted the officers long enough for the <<ADRENALINE>> script to load firing patterns for both of the MkII Carbines. Savvas rises behind the rear door and, heavy blaster in a two handed grip, takes the time to line up a shot for the Rodian's chest before firing twice.
Dual wielding, AVI thought, had to at least look cool. That had to count for something He watched at the Rodian took one round to the chest and one to the shoulder as he fell. He coughed and reached up under his shirt and pulled on the searing hot plate of armor. Raniero... rolls onto his belly beside his speederbike to present as small a target as possible, and opens fire on the Zabrak, aiming for the horned bastard's center mass. The Zabrak, distracted by the officers maneuvering around the Panther, takes a round to the chest and falls back. The round impacted the armored plate he had concealed, heating it and enraging him. Now on his back, he began scrambling backward and firing at the officers near the bikes. She sends a blaster bolt towards the chest of the Aqualish with the bags and then another, less well aimed, towards the chest of the other Aqualish. The Aqualish who had been injured and was dropped by his comrade trying to help him, took a blaster bolt up from the abdomen, under the armor plate, and through his chest. The bolt, with just enough energy remaining, ripped out the top of his right shoulder, covering his brother in burnt blood. Enraged, his brother roared and stood up, firing wildly between the two groups of officers. His chest armor was being melted away by the barrage of fire. Other rounds were striking his arms and legs, but he refused to fall in his rage. A single, lucky round entered his forehead and blew out the back of his skull. The <<ADRENALINE>> script began unleashing a volley of stun rounds at the officers. With the time that he was given to calculate and predict, he assumed this was what it would be like to shoot fish in a barrel. Though, he had never seen a fish before with his own sensors. While laying down precision cover fire, he stepped backward and jumped onto the crashed street sweeper, and then disappeared into the alleyway.Korbl, thrown onto his back when the fast and lucky bearded scumbag rams into the door of the airspeeder, curses as he lifts and swings his heavy blaster to the front to cover himself in case the bearded skel is coming around or over it. AVI was just about to the corner when he stopped and listened to the struggle going on behind the cafe. He nodded, knowing that Niko had gotten himself into a bit of a bind. ::NIKO:: he sent a comm to Niko, hoping that it would be too silent for the officers to hear in the chaos of the moment Holstering his right blaster momentarily, he reached back and grabbed a thermal detonator. He set it to flashbang, not wanting to damage the speeder he detected was at the center of the kerfuffle. ::CLOSE YOUR EYES::Looking up, he quickly calculated the best trajectory before momentarily cooking it and chunking it off of a wall and bouncing it to the open side of the Panther. ::COVER YOUR EARS::He shut off all of his sensors and waited the second and a half it would spend in the air, hoping Niko would forgive him. With sensors still coming online, AVI turned the corner and began aiming to fire on the officers with stun rounds, attempting to aim away from the speeder to avoid damaging it.

The <<ADRENALINE>> script began unleashing a volley of stun rounds at the officers. With the time that he was given to calculate and predict, he assumed this was what it would be like to shoot fish in a barrel. Minoru - one of two Coruscant Underworld Police officers not sufficiently distracted to fail to recognize that the previously motionless artificial intelligence inhabiting the combat droid it is often mistaken as being is a factor that should have been accounted for far, far earlier in the increasingly chaotic battle that has erupted - pops up from the cover of the wrecked airspeeder's driver's side door in time to see not only that the Rodian his partner, Savvas, had shot was wearing body armor and still poses a threat, but also that what looks like a droid is rapidly raising a pair of twin MKII carbines. Watch out for the . . . Minoru manages to say before one of the stun bolts hits him as he is beginning to take aim on the head of the droid.
Savvas, before he has so much as registered that his partner was trying to warn him and the other officers of something, falls stunned to the ground an instant after Minoru.
Raniero, the second officer that observes and reacts to the sudden movement of the previously stationary droid body, fares little better than his fellow officers, managing only to utter a curse as, with blaster bolts fired by the Zabrak hitting him in the right forearm and slapping into the ground around him, a well aimed stun bolt from one of the MKIIs hits him in the back and causes him to limply slump, stunned and unconscious, to the ground an instant before his partner, Saibh sprawls backwards behind her speederbike when the fourth stun bolt fired by the artificial intelligence slams into her chest. With sensors still coming online, AVI turned the corner and began aiming to fire on the officers with stun rounds, attempting to aim away from the speeder to avoid damaging it. Korbl, grinning savagely beneath his helmet, squints and starts lining up a shot beneath the door at the bearded scumbag's left knee. Before the Coruscant Underworld Police officer can take the shot, however, a blinding flash accompanied by a deafening roar spoils his aim and dispels any chances he might have had of noting the arrival of the bearded scumbag's compatriot. Going limp when one of the stun rounds hits him, Korbl is unconscious mere seconds before his equally blinded and deafened partner, Basma, is struck with another that drops her to the ground on the other side of their airspeeder, undamaged save for the windshield that was cracked and shattered by the shotgun blast fired into it by the bearded scumbag.

The Zabrak and the Rodian stare in awe as the frame jumps behind the crashed street sweeper while unleashing a hail of bolts with unspeakable accuracy. It takes them several moments to realize what had happened, only to be hit with a concussive sound from the back of the cafe. Looking at one another, they quickly scramble to their feet. The Rodian runs over and grabs the packages off of their fallen comrades while the Zabrak gets into their speeder. Within moments, they are gone, unaware of any potential tracking placed on their vehicle. They both sit in silence and shock. ===== Sango looks at Dee and, unflappable as ever yet clearly of the opinion that her assessment of the situation and what it calls for from the two of them, asks, "Well, my dear, what do you think? Those interceptors are unarmed, but more maneuverable than we are down here. Do you think there is any chance at all that we might be able to lose them?" Exit the freighter now with your hands on your heads! You have thirty seconds to comply or you will be boarded by force! Dee jumps back into the co-pilots seat and pulls out a flashlight. The visor on her full helmet dims the blinding spotlight to a degree, but it is still quite bright. Possibly, we could lose them. I want to give the crew a chance to get back here before we cut and run on them. I think we can stall these guys for a bit more than the 20 seconds we have left. ::NIKO. . .CLOSE YOUR EYES. . .COVER YOUR EARS:: Blindly obeying AVI's instructions when they come in over the comm, Nkosana squeezes his eyes shut and cradles his DC-17 shotgun in his arms while covering his hands with his ears. His eyes and ears only marginally protected from the noise and light of the thermal detonator going off beside the Panther and the distinctive sounds of stun bolts being fired from somewhere above, and Nkosana blinks and rubs at his eyes once the sound and flare of nearly blinding light have both subsided.
Scrambling to his feet, shotgun at the ready, Nkosana squints while swinging the barrel of the weapon to his right to check on the officer that he had knocked over with the door, swivels some more to peer over the hood towards where the stunned officer's partner, also stunned, lays beside the Panther on the opposite side, and feels dizzy as he completes his scan of the alley by swiveling a bit more to check the other end of the alley for any sign of additional police coming to the aid of those that AVI stunned. "Clear! Nkosana shouts far more loudly than necessary as his ears are still ringing, Thanks for the save! I owe you one!"Possibly, we could lose them. I want to give the crew a chance to get back here before we cut and run on them. I think we can stall these guys for a bit more than the 20 seconds we have left. . .I sure hope Morse Code works in this universe... Sango! Go start pounding on the ramp with a hammer. Hard! Make it sound like you are trying to break through! "Right!" Sango says, turning to jog towards the ramp to do as asked. Deciding that what he bangs on the ramp with is less important than the banging itself, Sango does not take the time he would need to find a hammer and instead takes a fire extinguisher from a wall on the way to the ramp.
Once he reaches the ramp, Sango, fearful enough of Vejide's wrath that he takes a few seconds to determine where his banging will do the least amount of damage, and then a few more to work up the nerve to actually lay into the ramp with the extinguisher, begins pounding away on the ramp like he is trying to break it down as Dee had instructed.

She begins pulsing the flashlight at the speeder as it slowly circles the ship. I captn E b e l e F a r a i of S c h r e c k l i c h e . . . we tra p p e d in here and d o o r has r e m o t e Janda's partner, Yeva Avagyan, leans closer to her window when she catches on to the fact that the blinking lights she had noticed seem to be blinking with regular irregularity of some kind, and asks, You see that blinking light?
Janda, mentally counting down the seconds irritably says even though he had not noticed the pulsing light until Yeva pointed it out to him, replies, Yeah. So?
I think it's a message, Yeva replies, catching on to the pattern and beginning to translate it in time to reveal, Says something about being trapped inside and trying to break the door and don't shoot.
Snorting a laugh, Janda opines, Bantha poodoo, they're stalling.
Or the crew was taken over by force and then locked in their ship while the perps went off to do whatever nefarious stuff they are here to do. We go in shooting and that proves to be the case, we end up down here in the underworld for the rest of our careers.
Damn it, Janda mutters, then comms Wiater and his partner to fill them in before he calls out over the airspeeder's loudspeakers, Stand away from the boarding ramp, repeat, stand clear of the boarding ramp, and then extends his free hand out of the window to give Wiater and his partner, Dorov, the signal to start trying to force open the freighter's boarding ramp.
Wiater, stopping beneath the light freighter where the as yet sealed and raised boarding camp is above him and to his left, tosses a self-adhering code breaker onto the ship's hull beside the boarding ramp and then, using his datapad to monitor the progress of the device. When Dorov, covering him from behind the cover of the passenger door of their airspeeer, shouts over to ask what is taking so long and if he wants the charges so they can move on to just blowing the door, holds up a hand to request another moment to try to remotely lower the boarding ramp. The process us usually fairly quick, the code breaker one designed to give law enforcement personnel the means to board ships when the crew is unavailable or resistant, but something seems to be giving the device more trouble than usual in this particular instance.

AVI nods and begins carefully pulling the officer out of the Panther. He turns to get in, before quickly turning around and grabbing the keyfob, then taking a seat at the wheel.
Push to start, but it immediately asks for a password or biometric input. AVI looks over at the officer then reaches up under the dash. A few prehensile wires come out of his wrist and wire into the system. Moments later the speeder roared to life once again. Get In, we have a ride back to the ship. Dee and Sango are about to get some company, I can't fight their hacks well from this distance.
He closes the door as Niko closes his side. Their attacks are different in this universe. Its unlike anything I have ever experienced. I am going to let them have the door, we will be there in less than a minute anyway.
AVI disconnects himself from the local net. The Panther lifts off and comes up over the cafe. AVI overrides the safety and the speeder blasts back for the ship.
=====
Dee watches as Sango wails on the door. Inside her helmet, she is trying to hold back a laugh. It's masking her fear of what is going to happen to her in this situation. On a cosmic level, it was funny. On a real level, she was going to prison, and nobody was going to come to get her.
Her last moments as a free woman was watching a Bothan beat a boarding ramp with a fire extinguisher. It's this, or I could be a part of the glass crater on the Sanctuary Moon. She shrugs and starts to walk back to the cockpit with the unmistakable sound of the ramp lowering filled the cabin.
Her whole body went numb. Spinning on her heel, she dropped to her knee and leveled her carbine at the ramp. AVI! Weapons Control!
<<Greetings, De'ath. Weapons control online. Please hold the weapon steady. I will fire the weapon at incoming hostiles.>>
She took a deep breath. Chills ran down her back; hair standing on end.

Returning his datapad to its pouch when the boarding ramp begins to lower, Wiater draws his heavy blaster as he begins moving to cover the foot of the ramp when it is down, states the obvious over his helmet's comms on the secure channel selected for him and his fellow officers at the landing pad to use, Ramp is lowering now. Cover me Dorov, he adds while the airspeeder overhead moves so that its spotlight illuminates the entryway into to the light freighter.
Heavy blaster held out in front of him in a two-handed grip, Wiater starts up the ramp, with Dorov moving from behind the door of their speeder as he is nearing the top of the ramp with no signs of movement at the top as of yet.
Holding near the top with his blaster aimed to cover the entry way in the event any hostiles or, if Janda's partner is right, members of the crew that had been trapped aboard the ship, appear, until Dorov is beside him, Wiater nods and motions with a hand to signal that he will go aboard first, with Dorov covering him. Spotting the Bothan with the fire extinguisher first when he runs to the top of the ramp and drops into crouch beside the hatch leading inside so that he can get to cover if necessary, Wiater shouts, Drop the extinguisher! Get on your knees, hands on your head!
Dorov, spotting the armored figure with the carbine further inside the ship as Wiater shouts at the Bothan, mentally berates his partner's lousy job of clearing the top of the ramp while he aims his heavy blaster at her and calls out over his partner's warning to the Bothan, Weapon at our twelve! Already firing a blaster bolt for the armored figure's chest, Dorov shouts an almost amusingly belated, Drop your weapon! and fires a second bolt for the figure's head as he tells the armored figure, as fate would have it just as his partner is yelling for the Bothan to puts his hands on his head, Hands on your head!

Spotting the Bothan with the fire extinguisher first when he runs to the top of the ramp and drops into crouch beside the hatch leading inside so that he can get to cover if necessary, Wiater shouts, Drop the extinguisher! Get on your knees, hands on your head! Sango lifts one hand while leaning down to set the fire extinguisher down with the other, adding to the din of voices speaking over one another as he tries to calm down the tension by saying as calmly as he can given the circumstances, "I'm complying, I'm . . . Trailing off when the second CSF officer, speaking over the first, shouts about a weapon, Sango looks over his shoulder as he is getting on his knees and putting his hands on his head as instructed. Seeing Dee with a rifle in hand, Sango, having thought they were going to pretend to have been locked inside the ship rather than try to fight, looks confused as he waves one of his hands in a downward motion to have her lower the weapon while holding the other out in front of him as he turns back the CSF officers to try and prevent a firefight from breaking out, saying hurriedly, No! She'll comply! Don't . . ." only to be cut off by the harsh barking of the CSF officer firing at Dee even as he commands her to drop her weapon.
Whipping his head around to see the results of the shot, hoping that it was only a warning shot, that Dee dodged it, or that her armor protected he, Sango cringes as he hears a second barking sound when the second shot is fired.Get In, we have a ride back to the ship. Dee and Sango are about to get some company, I can't fight their hacks well from this distance. . .Their attacks are different in this universe. Its unlike anything I have ever experienced. I am going to let them have the door, we will be there in less than a minute anyway. His ears still ringing from the noise of the thermal detonator going off, Nkosana cannot make out most of what AVI says, and so asks more loudly than necessary, "What?"
Able to guess what some of what AVI said meant from what he does while saying it, Nkosana gets into the Panther and repeats, "What?" once more after AVI says something else once they have both closed their doors and the Panther is lifting off.

The ramp lowered, and the head of the first officer came into view. Dee moved the blaster to meet the target and waited for the blaster to fire. Nothing. AVI? Fire!<<I am sorry De'ath. This is a Coruscant Security Officer. He is not a hostile threat.>>Realizing that she was useless in this fight, she tossed the rifle, palms outward. The first blaster hit impacted her in the on the right side. Static electricity washed over the armor as the blaster bolt ricocheted around the shielding systems. The impact knocked the wind out of her and shoved her to the side. Her heart was racing. She was suddenly hyper-aware of her surroundings. The colors around her were intensely vivid. The voice was slow, deep. Curious. She turned her head and watched as a bolt of light slowly closed the distance. Aponia...Dee blacked out as the bolt of energy sizzled by her head. Her body collapsed to the floor with a thud. ===== AVI Shook his head as the light of the landing pad came into full view. He slowed the Panther down just enough before hacking the passenger door open. Tuck and RollAVI shoved Niko out of the passenger door, opened his own door, aimed the craft at the speeder parked on the pad, and stepped out himself. Jogging to a stop, his sensors reconnected to the ship just in time to see and hear the blaster shots inside. AVI's critical and higher level processes crashed. Repeating errors started to run over one another. He restarted <<ADRENALINE>> and began rebooting. Paired with the active sensors of the ship, the frame quickly calculated the only course of actionAVI's field of view expanded. He pulled down his heavy repeating blaster and began firing at the hovering Panther, corralling it toward the front of the freighter. Atop the Geheim Masjien, the twin cannons came online. Paired with the ships active sensor sweeps, they instantly rolled over, aiming at the slowly hovering Panther, and released a single salvo. The Panther AVI had been piloting impacted the parked one on the landing pad in a shower of sparks and flying debris. Sprinting at the ramp, AVI fired a single bolt from the repeater at the officer shouting at Sango. The frame then grabbed the leg of the officer that had shot Dee, yanking him to the ramp with a thud. AVI deftly aimed and fired a single round into his chest from the heavy blaster. He stood there, frozen. Only simple processes were running

Wiater is about to yell for the Bothan to shut up and put his hands back on his head when Dorov fires the first blaster bolt, which is almost immediately followed by a second and then the sound of what sounds almost like the steady, staccato thumping of rapid cannon fire coming from somewhere outside of the ship. Yelling for the Bothan to get down on the ground with his hands on his head, Wiater is in the process of turning around to assess the new threat when the police airspeeder AVI and Nkosana had arrived in crashes down from the sky into the one that had been set down on the landing pad, the event occurring in concert with the heavy repeater cannon bolt that neatly sizzles through Wiater's back on the lower left side and explores more impressively out through the front, the smell of scorched muscle and flesh accompanying the burned or uninjured and purplish loops and coils of intestine that spill out of the smoking, gaping hole the bolt leaves in its wake before Wiater falls, unconscious and slipping rapidly into shock, onto his side.
Dorov, trusting his partner to handle the Bothan, is covering the fallen armored form with his heavy blaster while beginning to stand when all hell breaks loose outside of the ship, and is asking Janda and Yeva for a sitrep while continuing to cover the armored being he dropped with his first shot. Janda and Yeva have their own problems, however, but even had they not, Dorov is pulled off of his feet, his confusion mercifully lasting only a short time before the heavy repeater cannon bolt fired into his back reduces his heart to a burnt ruin, killing him almost instantly.
Janda is sprayed by what seems like a high pressure fountain of his partner's blood as he is hit in the right shoulder by one of the heavy repeater cannon bolts that tears through the neck of Yeva, killing her in the process, after ripping into the side of the police airspeeder, severely impairing his visibility as well as his ability to pilot the vehicle which is, in any event, shot out of the air by the light freighter's salvo of cannon fire not long after Yeva is killed. Janda's safety harness saves him from being thrown from the airspeeder as it slams into the landing pad surface on it's hood, and knocked unconscious when it's forward momentum tips it over onto its roof so that it slides, spitting sparks and shedding debris, several feet before coming to a halt, smoking and creaking and ticking.

Nkosana's hearing has returned by the time that AVI tells him to tuck and roll, but the instruction comes as enough of a surprise that he still asks in a befuddled tone of voice, "What?" AVI shoving him out of the door gives Nkosana his answer, and he has retained enough of the training and instincts acquired during his time as a Sector Ranger that he manages a reasonably competent tuck and roll after being shoved out of the Panther's door. Sustaining only a torn pant leg accompanying his scraped and bloodied left knee, and what will likely prove to be a spectacularly colored bruise on his left shoulder, Nkosana shakes his head after his trip from the Panther to the landing pad is complete. Drawing his DC-17 shotgun from the scabbard on his back, Nkosana's jaw drops as he watches AVI deal with the CSF officers harassing Dee and Sango with quick, brutal efficiency.
Jogging past the wreckage of the trio of burning Panthers, Nkosana stops beside AVI at the top of the ramp and, after observing that Sango is looking after Dee and does not look as frentic as he would if her injuries were grievous, grins as he says to AVI in an impressed tone, "Nice work, big guy! Getting no reply, Nkosana realizes that AVI has gone as motionless and inert as a statue, and so waves his free hand in front of AVI's face as he asks in a concerned voice, Hey, you alright?"
Sango, the oath he took as a physician demanding that he at least ascertain whether or not either of the CSF officers were within his capabilities to treat, had been able to determine rather easily that one of the officers was dead and that the other soon would be given that his wound would require surgery more complicated than he could perform in the ship's medbay. Moving to where Dee had fallen, Sango adjusts her head and neck so that her airway is protected while looking over the state of her armor to determine whether or not the blaster bolt had penetrated it, while asking, "Dee, Dee, can you hear me, my dear?"

Sango adjusts her head and neck so that her airway is protected while looking over the state of her armor to determine whether or not the blaster bolt had penetrated it, while asking, "Dee, Dee, can you hear me, my dear?" The shoreline underneath the white cliffs near her home on Alderaan was continually awe-inspiring. The cold breeze coming off the ocean impacted their warm face in the evening, causing what looked like a waterfall of mist and fog falling into the sky above. White sands under her feet were soft and cool. Salt air filled her nostrils. It was the laugh beside her that made her the happiest. She looked over at the vague features of her spouse that were fading with time. Dee laughed back. She wasn’t sure what they were laughing about, but it was joyous. It was always joyous. Dee looked back at her home that was fading in the distance, but it was already hidden by fog. She continued to walk. Her nose was runny. She reached up and touched it to wipe it off. Her hand came away covered in blood. They both laughed. It’s a little chilly out, my nose is runny. The white cliffs faded into dark walls that looked like floor plating of a freighter. They were always awe-inspiring. Especially when the sun hit them just right, they looked like a beacon of hope. "Dee, Dee, can you hear me, my dear?"She looked over at Aponia, her face was covered in hair. She always looked so beautiful. Dee got up from the sandy beach. She was laying down. Her side hurt. The waves really beat her up today. The sand was unusually hard. How did she get down here again? The ocean waves began lapping at her feet. A few more crashed on her waist. One more large wave overcame her. Dee opened her eyes and blinked as she stared at the floor. Yeah, I can hear you.It took her a few moments to finish coming to. Her heart was pounding in her ears, and her throat was pulsing. She sat up quickly and took off the helmet, the inside of it was covered in blood. Reaching up, she wiped her nose on her armored arm leaving a long streak of blood. It continued dripping down her lips and off her chin. Must have bashed my nose in a bit there.Turning, she leaned against the wall of the hallway and took a few deep breaths. She shook her head. The Kriff was I doing. I...She breathed some more but didn’t say anything else. She just stared at nothing in the distance a million miles away. Her head fell back against the wall as Sango checked her over.

Wait a minute, she is alive? Her armor…the Jedi must have given her armor with limited shielding systems. Its still whole; no punctures. Her nose is bleeding? She must have hit her face on the inside of her helmet when she hit the floor.

With blurry vision, AVI began to see with his own sensors the destruction wrought before him; by him. The officer at his feet lay dead; blood streaming down the ramp to the landing pad below. His body twitched as the servo motors finished their synchronization. His voice chirped, but he didn't knows what to say or if he could say anything at all.

Taking a pocket square from his vest pocket, Sango hands it to Dee, "Here, use this. Squeeze your nostrils together and lean forward a bit, my dear. No need to be delicate, he jokes with a toothy grin, just spit out the blood from your mouth when it gets bothersome. The bleeding should stop soon, he says while gently palpating the sides of her nose, able to feel that it does not seem broken. Turning his attention to her side, the state of her armor suggesting that the blaster bolt did not penetrate it, Sango asks before considering the need to have her remove it so he can do a more thorough assessment, How is your side? Do you have any pain while breathing? Shortness of breath, or dizziness?"
Nkosana, getting no response from AVI other than some chirping noises and what looks to him like random twitching, says worriedly, "I think there's something wrong with AVI, and then turns around to examine the state of the damaged Panthers scattered around on the landing pads. The sound of sirens in the distance makes him suggest, We, like, might not want to stick around here too long. AVI and I, he says while grimacing as he looks at the bodies of the CSF officers on the ship, only stunned two of the officers we ran into, they won't stay out forever, and I think the noise from the crashes and cannon fire here has, like, drawn some attention."
Sango, reluctantly agreeing with Nkosana's assessment of the situation, asks Dee, "Do you think you can pilot the ship, my dear, or should I see if I can't get the autopilot up and running instead?"

With the square pressed to her nose, she shook her head at Sango. Putting her hand on his shoulder to get up, she pointed to the loading ramp with her free hand as she walked to the cockpit.
I'm fine. We can do a check up when we are clear, thanks Doc. What about the new cargo. Vejide is going to be thrilled with the new color of the walls and ramp.
She slumped into the pilot's seat and began full startup sequence for the ship. She shouted back.
20 seconds to legs up.
Leaning back into the seat, she exhaled hard. Her nose had stopped running at this point, and she dropped the cloth on the floor.
=====
AVI's whole body rolled and shifted back into place, now that he was fully functional again. He shook his head.
I stunned the officers in front and in back. Two of our clients were killed in action, two got away with minor injuries. Suffice to say, the payment for this job will come through.
He holstered his blaster and unceremoniously grabbed the leg of the officer at his feet and chunked the body onto the tarmac. He did the same for the other officer as well.
Apologies, I... I had a minor glitch and went into my own form of autopilot until my systems could be fully restored.
He shouted forward.
Dee, we're clear.
She leaned forward in her seat and pulled back on the stick. Her body was moving on its own with trained precision. Her mind was blank, and her gaze was on something in another star system. She picked up the ship, raised the ramp and legs as she rotated toward D21.
The ship's sensors were being blasted with incoming traffic. It was still a way out, but she wasn't willing to stick around and meet the new guests. The hornet's nest had been sufficiently rattled, and several people were dead now.
She tried not to think about how she was almost among those killed.
Throwing the throttle forward, the ship blasted toward D21 where she aimed the nose upward and accelerated up to the surface of the planet.

Romulus and Serina wasted no time in boarding their ship and leaving the atmosphere.
