The combat and tactics simulator, or C.A.T.S. is a training device used to ready agents of the Organization for field duties, providing them with realistic situations including combat, espionage, assassination, infiltration, and acquisition missions. The advanced artificial intelligence running the simulations uses the most up to date information regarding a mission to help ensure that there is little uncertainty regarding the mission when it is to be done.

C.A.T.S - Combat and Tactics Simulator. A training device utilizing the latest holographic technology to simulate various training scenarios to help prepare field agents for their appointed tasks. Capable of making everything seem as realistic as possible, dampeners prevent any death from taking place within the simulator, but injuries are not out of the question. Devised by The Mysterious Man and perfected by his protege, The Illusionist, the simulator is even better than it was before The Organization fell.

Krai spent most of her time training in the C.A.T.S. She had run through most of the Clone Wars era simulations for the Jedi Council and she was improving, but the upper half of the council was still giving her trouble and she was only beating them rarely. Pushing herself harder and harder every day to improve and get used to her latest round of enhancements. The Banshee, as she called herself, fought again and again. Sometimes taking on real opponents, but fewer volunteered, as she was not known to be gentle in sparring matches. This is how her days passed when not on mission for the Illusionist.

With a sudden shimmer, a holographic image of The Illusionist appeared alongside Krai as the simulation paused. Standing there, dressed in a neatly pressed suit, jacket unbuttoned, right hand in his pocket and a lit cigarette in the other, the man spoke to his most trusted agent.
Banshee, I have a new assignment for you, if you are interested?
Eyeing up the Nagai woman, he took a drag from his cigarette and exhaled slowly, watching her thoughtfully. Though no longer resembling her Nagai roots, aside from a few aesthetic features, the fiery-maned Nagai warrior was his best and most successful agent to date. Unquestioningly loyal to the cause as well as him personally, she knew she was the best of the best.

Krai had just managed to bring down CC-1138 and was about to move on to Mundi when the simulation paused. About to let fly a string of threats and expletives at whoever dared interrupt her, when she noticed it was the Illusionist who had paused the program. Removing her warmask and giving a crual and hungry smile, the Mercenary leader gave her reply. At last. Who needs killing?

A small smirk formed, though it quickly disappeared. Looking upon the mercenary, he replied to her.
No killing. This time. I have received rumors that there is a person of interest on Naboo. She apparently liked to help refugees and civilians displaced by the conflict between the First Order and the now defunct Galactic Alliance. I want you on the ground, searching for her. Your cover will be a relief mission. Bringing credits and medical supplies as a gesture of goodwill. With the Galactic Alliance on the verge of collapse at the time, they were unable to help the people of Theed after a chemical weapons attack. Relief efforts have been ongoing. And slow. With the whispers of a new government potentially forming to stand against the First Order, now would be a perfect opportunity to recruit operative. I will forward all available information to your personal datapad.
He knew she wouldn't be overly thrilled with no killing, but he needed the best on the ground, and despite her apparent bloodlust, she was the best operative he had. So she had been selected. And he knew she would do the job to the best of her ability.

She looked over the image of the Illusionist for a moment, as if trying to find out if it was a very out of character joke, sending her on a non-violent mission. Krai snapped her fingers and one of her soldiers rushed over with her personal datapad before retreating back to the edge of the simulation. Smirking at the pad she looked up as if making up her mind.
I didn't know you were one for practical jokes. You want me to recruit a Force Sensitive? And I thought I didn't get humor.
The Nagai looked over him again, this time in a more aggressive way. Even with the defiance in her eyes, both of them knew she would do the job and do it to the best of her ability. But it was clear she was not going to like it.

Knowing that is may seem odd, a Force Sensitive, seemingly against the use of the Force all together, was a valuable asset. And, if he was ever going to be able to cure Force Sensitivity, he would need test subjects.
This is no joke. My predecessor employed the use of several Force Sensitives during his reign. Despite whatever stance I may take on the matter, using their own weapon against them seems to be the more successful option until such time as we are able to cure it. Besides, we need Force Sensitives for research purposes. Studying how Force Sensitivity works is the key to mitigating it.
Still standing before her, he took another drag on his cigarette. Exhaling slowly, he spoke once more.
I trust your mission is clear?

Crystal.
Krai looked over the frozen image of Ki-Adi-Mundi and whispered mostly to herself, though the Illusionist would no doubt hear.
Don't go anywhere, Mundi, I'll be back for you. End simulation.
The terrain, clone bodies, and Jedi Master all faded away, leaving the plane simulator and the Illusionist in the room with her.
When am I leaving?

Not one to mince words, especially with how feisty Krai seemed right now, The Illusionist motioned to the simulator's exit.
As soon as you are ready. If any new reports come in while you are on Naboo, I will have them forwarded to you directly. As of right now, all my sources are scouring the HoloNet for any traces of Miss D'Naga. All the equipment, along with three Athabasca-Class Modular Freighters have been assembled and are ready to leave from Port Town. Good Hunting.
As the Illusionist took a drag from his cigarette, his image vanished from the simulator.

As the Illusionist vanished, Krai returned her helmet to her head and marched out through the exit of the C.A.T.S.

After a walk through the streets of Port Town, Kia and Miranda transitioned seamlessly to the protected and restricted area that was The Organization's headquarters. A pristine, state of the art building, seemingly out of place in an asteroid, but none-the-less there, was The Organization's operational HQ, where agents and staff lived and thrived, wanting for nothing. Communications arrays, top-of-the-line research and development labs, offices, manufacturing facilities and even a nightclub were all hidden away within Skip 7. Protected by various countermeasures, The Nexus was more secure than a Hutt's vault. Leading Kia through the facility, Miranda came to the Combat and Tactics Simulator, or C.A.T.S for short. Here, every operative, field agent and solider within The Organization underwent training to keep their skills sharp. Extensively frequented by Krai Essen, there were no better training facilities around.

As the bit of paperwork was finished, Kia followed Miranda through the streets of Port Town. She had found it a bit strange, everything that she was asked to sign. However, she had never actually been involved with any real organization or government before, aside from her small time with the First Order, so she didn't fully know what all had to be done upon joining up. And considering the nature of the Organization through the bits she was gathering, secrecy was a big deal. But it had been done and her file had its start.
It wasn't long before the area seemed to change to something more pristine. It could only be guessed that she was now within the main area of the Organization. As they entered the area, she was able to catch the name, which made her smirk a bit. It seemed that now was the time to test her skills. In that regard, she wouldn't disappoint. "On to the skills testing, huh? This should be fun."

Combat And Tactics Simulator - Testing Bay 1. With a small smirk, Miranda nodded to Kia."These simulators can mimic everything. And you can be injured here. Death cannot occur, obviously, but The Illusionist takes the training of his operatives quite seriously. Pick a setting and simulation type and we'll get you set up."Despite Miranda being the top operative, at least for the time being, she always did enjoy seeing the prowess of the other new recruits. Some had surprised her, whereas others had woefully under performed. This process helped weed out those that would go on to become exceptional operatives and those that were better suited for desk jobs or intelligence work.

Kia listened as Miranda explained the simulator and its capabilities. She had to admit it was an impressive piece of tech. Capable inflicting injury and putting someone in a tough situation just like it would in the field without the risk of death was an effective training method. It reminded her of her brother's particulsr methods in training apprentices.
For a split moment, her mind turned to Gavin, wondering where he was and what he was up to. She hadn't heard from him since he left the First Order years ago so there was certainly no telling. But considering the group she was joining and their beliefs, it was highly possible they'd meet up on the battlefield at some point.
When told to make here selections, Kia made her way over to the consel and looked over her options. It was a bit surprising that she was getting to choose. A more effective test would have been one Miranda chose at random. Still, she didn't complain, nor did she intend to disappoint. Looking over her selections, she went with the next to highest difficultly. She had faced more than her fair share of live opponents but not knowing how the computer judged the settings, she didn't want to be facing sonething that turned the simulation into super soldiers. Then came the type. She still wasn't sure of all the settings, but opted for soldiers from both the First Order and the Blackguard. She had no real care for the First Order, though didn't doubt the modern weaponry and skills of their Stormtroopers. The the Sith soldiers gave her the challenge of lightsaber wielding enemies, not expecting the use of the Force a capability of the C.A.T.S.
With her choices selected, she looked to Miranda, wondering if anything else was left before the simulation began.

*The trek over towards the building that housed the "Combat and Tactics Simulator" was relaxing enough, but once Aedon crossed the threshold into the building proper, he was suddenly awash with the plethora of emotions that came with the name. His ability to empath made it so he felt every bit of the fear, anxiety, bloodlust, and confidence that each of the agents currently training there felt. The main corridor had viewports along the way, each looking in on a different arena where the agents were undergoing training simulations or being assessed. Aedon followed Miranda and Walker over to a desk area where the Illusionist's right hand took a few moments to greet the staff there and ask for a datapad detailing the day's attendees and their scope of work. As she went over it, she conversed with the Chadra-Fan who handed it to her. Aedon took the time to go over and view one of the simulator "matches" that were taking place. This one had a full strike team of five going up against a heavily-guarded facility, from the looks of it. Each operative was moving independently, but seemed to be waiting on one of their comrades to clear an objective before moving forward.*
*The facility was multi-tiered, all the way from the open plaza to the third floor of the structure. There were multiple access and egress points, plenty of cover. However, Aedon noticed that the whole of the structure was fairly well-lit, and where it wasn't, there were overlapping patrols that made it difficult to progress without the chance of being seen. That, and Aedon saw cameras and hovercams involved in the patrols, too. Yet, these operatives weren't wasting any movements. They were finding the holes in the patrols, using access points to hide from the cameras when they swept through, and taking out security when it was deemed safest with ruthless efficiency. And once they were down, the operatives were hiding their "bodies" before any other patrols were able to see them.*
*One of the operatives was kneeling behind a planter on a lower tier, and Aedon observed him activating a sort of holoprojection on his left forearm. It looked almost like a dimly-lit orange gauntlet, and he was toying with it by manipulating his fingers. Then, Aedon began to see little holo-screens appear and sweep left and right. Was he...slicing? The lighting on the exterior of the complex began flickering, and then suddenly went out in key sections. This sent a few of the guards into an alert status, and they began checking comms. To which, Aedon observed some manner of frustration in their features, likely because of the slicer's interference. He felt as though he could continue watching the sim forever, but instead turned his attention back towards Operative Strahovski, intent on hearing her instructions as soon as she would decide to give them.*

As the trio entered the Combat and Tactics Simulator, Walker paid little attention to Strahovski as she walked over to a Chadra-Fan, he was more interested in the current match taking place in one of the simulators. This match seemed to be a solo combat round, a single operator entered and faced off with a bunch of droids. These droids were something that Walker had never seen before, their design was interesting and Walker could honestly say he had never seen anything like them before. Walker noticed a man with a white goatee and glasses sitting on his forehead while wearing a white lab coat, he decided to strike up a conversation with the man. "Impressive droids, never seen anything like them." Walker turned his head a bit to look at the man before continuing. "Have you seen anything like them before?"Walker had a hunch that this man was the brain behind the droids, however he wanted to make sure.

Baird Armstrong stood and watched one of The Organization's operators take on his latest creation the The Shepard. Baird had designed the droids to be a defensive tactical droid that was capable of suppressing threats, he was so lost in thought that he almost missed the man standing next to him speak. Baird had to smile at the question, he quickly deduced that this man was clever and knew exactly who he was talking to.Of course I've seen them before, I did design them. I don't believe we've been introduce yet. I'm Baird Armstrong of Renegade Industries, Head Engineer. Baird continued to watch the match while he spoke with the man. After a while Baird walked away and made his way to a workshop that had a surplus of Shepards. Baird had named this droid after his close friend Doctor Adam Shepard, in part to annoy the doctor and the other part was to show some respect. The recent match was providing him with a lot of data that he needed to make improvements to the droid design. Once Baird was done with the droids, he would move onto his new prototype tactical medium combat armor.

Walker listened as the man introduced himself as the head engineer of Renegade Industries and the brains behind the droids. For the next couple of minutes Walker and Baird talked, with Walker introducing himself. Then before too long Baird left and Walker walked back over to where Strahovski had left both him and Aedon. Walker figured that he and Aedon would most likely be submitted to a vast array of tests, that made the most sense at least to him because why bring them to the simulator if they weren't going to partake in a few simulations. Walker was kind of excited to get into some combat even if it was simulated combat.

Finishing up with Kattar Nuz, the Chadra-Fan 'receptionist' of sorts, Miranda approached Aedon and Walker, as another person dressed in slightly different attire approached as well. Karin Seymour was the chief medical officer of the CATS area and she often helped Operative Strahovski with the assessment of new recruits."Gentlemen, welcome to the Combat and Tactics Simulators. Utilizing top-of-the-line holo technology and energy dampners, these simulators can simulate virtually everything with almost perfect realism. Injuries can occur, but the dampners prevent lethal or death blows. The Illusionist takes the training of his agents and field operatives very seriously, but the safety and well being of those agents and operatives are top priority. Doctor Karin Seymour here, is the chief medical officer for the simulators and she will be assisting in the assessments."As Miranda finished speaking, she motioned to the blue-haired, blue-eyed, pale-skinned Zeltron doctor."Thank you, Operative Strahovski. There will be several tests that require my direct supervision, so we'll be splitting you two up for the time being. Lieutenant Walker, if you would please follow me..."The slender Zeltron doctor trailed off and motioned for Walker to follow her down a corridor marked with an overhead sign; "Physical and Psychological Assessments/Simulators # 15-30". This left Miranda and Aedon together. As Doctor Seymour and Walker departed, Miranda spoke up."With Lieutenant Walker and Doctor Seymour covering that portion of the assessment, that leaves us to tackle the solo and team combat assessments as well as the strategies and leadership assessments. Normally we'd stick to the routine, however, as a thank-you for the lunch you bought, which would you prefer to start with?"Miranda offered the Zeltron male a warm smile. He was a charming individual, however, she wasn't the type to mix work and play, and with her 'upbringing', she was hardly one to offer any sort of companionship. But she could be polite and courteous to him as thanks, and maybe even let him choose his own course, rather than being subjected to the usual routine. Besides, from the moment they entered the simulators, until they were 100% cleared, they were being monitored on how they handled everything and how they responded to the choices they were given. Biometric scanners continued to monitor everyone in the simulators, while various other scanners kept an eye on nerve pulses, personal 'tells', body language and posture.
