Gavin smirked as laughed a little. "Eager to get to it, huh? That's good. To the point then, what path do you wish for yourself or have you been unable to figure out the kind of person you wish to be.?"

Raara let her gaze fall as she thought on the question and how to answer. After all the time thinking and preparing, she wasn't exactly sure how to answer. In fact, she really wasn't sure what path of power she wanted to follow within the Sith. After a few moments, she turned her gaze upwards, as if looking to the sky before looking back to him.
"To be honest, I'm not sure what path I really want to follow in regards to power. All I know is me and what interests me. In which case, I have found a fascination with the wind. For someone like me who was born into slavery, the idea of the flowing breeze was a sign and dream of freedom. Even now, I still get lost in the breeze and wish to flow with it."

Gavin rubbed his chin as she spoke, working to keep a smirk from growing on his face. "I see. So I think it's safe to say that you would work best as an elemental wielder. There actually are abilities that relate to the wind. Force Wind, Force Whirlwind, Alter Environment, and in the case of wishing to fly, Force Flight. I, myself, have an affinity for elemental power, namely in the form of lightning. Anything that harnesses electricity comes naturally to me. Perhaps the wind is the same for you. And, for your satisfaction, you can use that very symbol of freedom and turn it into a cage against those who seek to enslave."
Guessing that the thought would amuse her, he pushed on to the last bit. "Now, face me in a spar and let us see what style of combat best fits you."

As he expected, all of what he said made her eyes light up, especially the last bit about enslaving enslavers. A dark smirk grew upon her face as she thought upon returning to Nar Shadda and bringing those who had her family to their knees and putting them in cages. When he spoke of a spar, she gave a nod and ignited her saber.
"Sounds like fun." Suddenly, she leapt forward and came down upon him. She attacked with an agile and acrobatic ferocity, trying to flow as she expected the wind to be. She assault him with all she could to attack from different directions and keep him on the defensive.

Gavin worked to block her attacks as she made the first move with no hesitation or lack of confidence. That was good as he kept up her changes in direction and placement, easily defending himself from her attacks, though it was something he could truly brush off. Ten minutes passed by as he got a grasp on her tactics and style, relating it to what he felt it to be. "Very good, Raara. You are definitely a wielder of Form IV. The acrobatic style infused with your attunement to the wind certainly gives it a nice flair. That is all for now. Now finish your training for the day."
With all the students for the day gone through, he returned to the main room and watched as the students continued on with their training. Those who had already been given an idea of what path to take were already attempting to step into the styles of combat they had been recommended for as well as some of the Force powers. Not a moment wasted, it seemed. And now, there were only three left to gauge. And with the week's end approaching, the next week would begin diving into each of the combat forms.
With the classes end, he began to dismiss them, calling out a final instruction to them as they went. "Nidana, Geralt, and Lizbeth. We will look into your preferences tomorrow. Do begin thinking on it, if you have not yet."

Nidana left the training area feeling nervous and arrived the next day feeling even more so. She did not know what to expect from a spar with Gavin, and though she had progressed far in her melee combat skills, she was still far behind the others in her class. The young Echani was attempting to focus and calm herself as she awaited Gavin's instructions in the morning.

As the next day arrived, Gavin arrived early, ready to get through the final day of analyzing and speaking with his students in helping them along their personal paths. Three more remained one of which was Nidana. He was very curious as to how things were going for her as he had spent special one on one training at the beginning in an attempt to help her better control her power.
As each of them arrived, he waited for a few moments to see how things were progressing with the rest. It was small, but he could see each of them making attempts at executing maneuvers from the suggested combat forms or Force powers he had mentioned. Those who started at the beginning of the week were making better, more obvious progression for what little it currently was, but it was good seeing that they put dedication and initiative into their training, making him smile.
After about thirty minutes of watching, it was time to get started with the final three. "Nidana, you're first up. Come with me." Turning away from the group, he led the Echani into the smaller training area, out of sight of the others. For now, whatever was said and done would be between them. Leaning up against the wall, he spoke, his tone softer than she might have expected, knowing she had been nervous in the beginning and seemed to be just as tense now. It was best to make her feel more comfortable in order to relax. "So how have you been enjoying the classes? Are they working for you?"

Nidana timidly followed Gavin into the other training area and expected something harsher. But he seemed gentle and calm, for a Sith instructor anyway. She paused as he asked about her progress and how the class had been helping her. Forming her thoughts in her head she progressed to speak.
Well, I think they are... I haven't been waking up in cold sweats having just hurled a bolt of lightining at the wall. Now I just wake up in cold sweat. She laughed nervously at her own joke. But despite my Echani heritage I'm still far behind on the melee aspects of the class.
She looked down at her feet, hoping that Gavin did not take what she said as an insult to his training abilities.

Gavin listened as she spoke, rubbing his chin as he processed everything she had to say. It was a bit disappointing that after two years, she still hadn't fully obtained absolute control yet. then again, she was still young and had access to power that she was taught anything about. Then again, there was no telling what all she experienced that could have awakened or disrupted her power since leaving the Jedi.
Giving her a smile, he moved up to her a placed a hand on her head. "Well, it's good to know that we are making progress. It might be slow, but it is progress nonetheless. With a little bit more time, I'm sure the pieces will fall into place that helps you get ahold of it quicker. Some things just can't be rushed. And it's not a bad thing that you aren't as capable in combat. It doesn't mean you are weak, only that your skillsets reside in other abilities, abilities that are as equally, if not more, effective than combat. But do keep at it. You never know when you'll be thrust into a situation in which you have to fight." He gave her another smile as he removed his hand and began walking around a bit. There were a few more questions he wished to ask before getting into the meat of why she was here. "How have things been going with the others? Making friends okay?"

Giving a smile to her feet as Gavin comforted her about her abilities. Then the conversation turned to her interactions with the others. She was pensive at first before giving a small smile and blushing. Still studying her feet, she brushed some of her loose white hair behind her ear.
Well, up until recently I had only interacted with the others during training. But, well, I've been talking to Geralt outside of class and, well, he's nice, I guess.
She bite her lip apprehensively, wondering if Gavin would give a classic Sith speech about emotional attachment to others makes you weak.

As Nidana mentioned Geralt, he stopped and turned his head towards Nidana, a smirk growing on his face. It was almost completely obvious what their talking really meant. It was clear in her actions and tone. He waited only a moment before turning back to her. "Good to know you're building relationships with others. Attachments, friendships, they can lead to powerful emotions that can, in turn, be used to channel and build your power. The Jedi seek to remove themselves from these things, thinking it disrupts their focus and leads to the Dark-Side. The Sith feel attachment can cloud your mind and keep you from doing what needs to be done. But love and friendship are great and powerful things. Plus having friends you can trust and count on in and outside of battle is important. After all, under the Sith'ari's rule, a new Rule of the Sith hs emerged, one of unity. Just make sure that when the time comes, you don't let your relationships hinder your mission." He wouldn't spell it out for her entirely because there were some realities that needed to be figured out by oneself. But in keeping relationships from hindering her duty, he didn't mean killing them and cutting ties because it held her back, but not choosing them above everything else when an important task needed to be done.

Nidana was relieved when Gavin began to explain to her the benefit of relationships, but was brought back down a bit when he said 'Don't let your relationships hinder your mission.' It reminded her that she may have to chose the Blackguard and her adopted Father or Geralt and others. She gave a small nod, indicating that she understood, weather or not the resolve was their was another matter entirely.

Gavin gave her nod. In time, it would truly be up to her on how to live her life and how it affected her relationships and her duty to the Blackguard. Time would be the teacher and her heart, mind, and spirit would determine the path she'd choose. But that was a matter left to her for another time. It was no time to dive into the topic for their discussion. "So, have you figured out what path you wish to walk? Have you figured out the person you wished to be?"
He looked at Nidana curiously as he asked his question. For some, he had gathered quickly by watching them what would best suit them. Some he had to be told. The Echani before him was one of the latter, to be sure. And the desire to know was piquing his interest.

She finally looked up as her master asked about the future she saw for herself. Their were few in the Blackguard, or the galaxy for that matter, who she had shared this desire with. But Gavin had never seemed the one to steal glory from another. So their was no harm in showing him. She reached into her bag, one she took everywhere, and produced an old leather bound journal with lose papers poking out from between the pages.
This is my record of findings in my time exploring Sith tombs. The most interesting ones I found were those who were overshadowed in their time. Those who were crushed under the heels of the likes of Kresh, Sadow, and so many other Dark Lords. They had truly imaginative ideas, that failed due to a lack of power, time, or necessary scientific advancements to augment their experiments. I want to see these old designs put to the test starting with these Sith spawn.
As she moved over to Gavin, she opened the book careful to not let the loose notes and pages fall out. The Echani was in one of her rare moods when she got talking about something that she was passionate about. Her eyes dazelled as she pointed at a tracing of a relief that decorated the final resting place of a Sith. It depicted a creature with an armored vertebrate body, a long, bifurcated whip-like tail, one arm with a single talon for a hand, and a head with an armored crest. But surrounding it where slightly different ones, such as with wings, or two talons. And outside of those it looked like a representation of a whole horde with those mutations.
They are a Hivemind that share adaptations. When in range of another, they telepathically send the code to unlock these mutations allowing them to grow wings, tougher hide, longer claws, or any number of things. If they were all to have these mutations, then they would be too complex to produce on a mass scale, they must be simple but adaptable. Seemingly catching herself, she blushed and looked away, lowering the book from out of Gavin's face. I apologize, Master, I get overly excited about the topic... And, well, sorry.

Gavin watched as she immediately moved to remove something from her bag as the question was asked. It seemed that she had a very good idea of what she wanted to do within the Blackguard or at least wanted to see what he thought. Even more was that she didn't only have the ability to tell him, but show him. As she handed him the book, he looked at her for a moment, then the book before carefully looking over what she wished for him to see.
Overall, most of what he saw was gibberish to him as it was something outside of his understanding. He took in what he could as she went on to explain the creatures and what she discovered about them. It was good to see her driven about something. And it was very clear to see the path that would work best for her based on what he saw. He laughed a little as she apologized. "There is nothing to apologize for, Nidana. I'm glad that you have something you are passionate about. That is good. Clearly, you have a desire for the arts of Sith Magic and Alchemy. Only through those practices can such things be brought to life. Unfortunately, they are arts I cannot aid you in, though I know the Blackguard possesses a few such masters that could soon take you on to further your knowledge and help bring these things to life. Do you have many plans like this you wish to eventually implement?"

Nidana once again noticeably got excited as Gavin expressed the possibility of this being a path she could pursue. She closed the journal gently and returned it to her bag. The young woman smiled as she seemed to forget the impending fight that would be coming.
Yes. There are still several I have in the journal, and others I'm sure that are yet to be found.

Gavin continued to smile and laugh as Nidana showed her excitement. It was always pleasing to see a student eager about learning and having a good idea of what they wanted to achieve. Out of all of the other students thus far, she showed the most enthusiasm, showing a great difference between who she was now and the completely shy girl at the start.
When she walked away, answering that there were, indeed, other ideas, he gave a nod. "That is good to hear. You should have plenty to work with when you become skilled enough. I'm eager to see what else you have in the notebook. I'm even more curious as to what you eventually create that is entirely your own."

Shivering and beaming with excitement as visions of her future rushed into her head, she shrugged, though still smiling, at the suggestion of creating something of her own design.
I don't know. Right now I will be happy to see those who were forgotten get their recognition. But who knows, maybe I'll have a stroke of genius someday.

"Quite a noble sentiment. Most Sith would be inclined to take anything they find that had been forgotten and claim it as their own. But I do admire that. Just remember that the time will come to make your mark. I know you'll think up something worth remembering in the history of the Sith."
Gavin smiled before removing the training saber from his hip and igniting the blade. "I can easily see where your strength lies. You are not a fighter like your people, and that's alright. Your talents will be shown through the arts of Alchemy and Magic. Most times, these enhance and create things that can aid you in a battlefield. As such, these creatures. They will fight for you. But Magic can do even more, increasing powers in the Force or creating new powers within it. So your strength lies in the Force. But you must always be ready for the chance of physical combat." Twirling his saber in a fancy show, he took a stance. Face me in a little spar. Let's see if there are any particular assets that you possess that can be used. See if you have a talent for any of the other particular lightsaber styles that can benefit you."

Nidana winced a little as she saw the blade ignite in the hand of her master. But she took a deep breath and held on to the feeling of accomplishment that had come with the prior conversation. She calmly removed her bag, exhaling as she tossed it aside and unclipped her own saber. It hummed to life, letting it extend at a down word angle, ready to be brought up in defense. This was going to be an experience she hadn't had since arriving, an opponent she could fight without handicapping herself. She extended her left hand, ready to unleash the power inside of her. And a small spark rose inside her. Was she eager to test how far she had come? Perhaps some of her classmates were rubbing off on her. She waited for Gavin to make the first move. The Echani knew if she wanted to do well, she would need to keep her distance.
