This is the training area. It is here that the future of Iridonia's warrior-bred are trained.
Here, you will find multiple training rooms, the star prize being the Combat Simulator installation, which involved state-of-the-art solid light holographic technology with which to train in various scenarios.
The main attraction of the Training Area was the Battle Arena. It was here that high-level Acolytes sparred against each other in final tests, mid-level Acolytes had their corporate saber and Force-combat classes, and other various students sorted out conflicts. Academy events were held here too; resultantly there were multiple levels of seating in concentric circles around the arena itself, seating enough to house the entire population of Wortan.
Aside were some training rooms for private booking. Without significant authority clearance, these rooms had to be booked for use.

Down at the Battle Arena, preparations were already being made to herald in the new Blademaster of the Academy. Flags, bombastic ceremonial horns, grandstand beautification... all of those bombastic regalia that Angel found rather unnecessary, as "prerequisite" as it had to be.
Academy staff worked back and forth to set up the Arena for a conducive viewing environment that could take the hits of much-anticipated collateral damage. Angel's guards were on the scene; extra security forces and all that crap that the overseer knew Angel would mentally roll his eyes at. By the time the two Sith Lords would reach, they should be done with setup. If not, Angel would have their heads served to him on a platter.

About ten seconds after the last prop was meticulously placed, Angel and Romulus walked in to the arena, where whatever amount of students that were there gathered with all the instructors. He addressed them.
You may or may not know why you are gathered here at this time. I despise grandiose speeches, so I will be very blunt. I have found a better, more efficient Blademaster than me, and I have more important works to attend to. Some of you may have already experienced his dexterity firsthand.
The big Zabrak, now with an arm cast, sulked.
He has probably announced himself as the new Blademaster, and now we will substantiate that and sanction it into inauguration.
Angel walked over to the other side – his connection to the Force had been building from trickle to torrent during the time of walking– and without warning, he launched a massive Force Blast from his right hand mixed with a lethal dose of his indigo Lightning from his left. He boosted himself forward with a quick Force dash, the metal hilts of his sabers sliding into his hand, right behind the fast-moving bolt of energy to execute a reverse Shien uppercut with one of his Lightning-imbued flame-coloured blades, targeted skyward. Angel would give Romulus no time to respond. If he dodged the first attack, he would not miss the second and be forced to block. If he absorbed it with his tutaminis technique of Force Armour, it would at least halve his Force-Weapon reserve, and the second strike would be indefensible (due to the focus required to absorb the bolt), which would also batter at his Force Weapon application.

Romulus stood beside Angel, holding back a yawn. He was still a bit tired from the nap. And slightly hungry. Hoping it would end soon, he looked up as Angel left the spot beside him. Interested, Rom cocked an eyebrow as Angel crossed the room and turned to face him.
Suddenly, Angel released a Force Blast fused with lightning towards Rom. Immediately, Romulus called on the Force and his black lightsaber flew into his right hand, ignited. With his (still imperfect) force weapon, he focused all armor towards the front of his body, absorbing most of the force blast. The lightning came next, but Romulus was ready. Being naturally gifted as Force Lightning, it was almost effortlessly as Romulus raised his left hand to absorb the dangerous sparks of electricity flying towards him. They went into Romulus' left hand, glowing bright blue, now his to use.
And then Romulus saw Angel just behind the attack. As if on instinct, Romulus concentrated all Force Weapon into his lightning-imbued left hand. And then, he did something utterly ridiculous: he grabbed Angel's lightsaber.
Normally, Romulus' imperfected Force Weapon would not be able to entirely nullify a lightsaber's blade, but instead reduce it's cutting power. But this time, his hand was charged up with Force Lightning; and Romulus was an expert at the manipulation of electricity. Amplifying the power-outage with the Force, Romulus was able to grab Angel's lightsaber blade - fingers and all - with almost no damage from the super-heated plasma. Upon contact with the blade, Romulus began to suck away the lightning from Angel's lightsaber into the glowing blue hand.
My turn.
And Romulus brought down his saber. The black blade flew through the air, right for Angel's left shoulder.

Angel's right hand flared to life with his own Force Armour as he grabbed Romulus' black blade; the energy absorption technique of the Force preventing his hand from being severed. Now they were in a unique lock; each one of them had blades in their hands, one by the hilt and one by the other... unpleasant end.
Hmmm, his lightning abilities have grown more accomplished than I thought..., Angel thought to himself.
Angel ceased the lightning around his left blade; it would be like trying to drown a fish. As both their hands and blades were occupied, it would be impossible to use otherwise. Angel performed a backflip kick (a technique inspired by the third tier of the Echani martial arts), imbuing his soles with Force Push upon contact, with the intent of freeing his blade from Romulus' grip, and likewise, and redistance themselves again. And hopefully knock a bit of wind out of Romulus' lungs.

Romulus saw Angel adjust his body, and realized what would happen before it actually did.
A Force kick! (in thought)
Romulus then deactivated his black saber, and the blade disappeared from Angel's grip. He quickly brought his body backwards, narrowly avoiding the backflip kick. In doing so, Romulus had no choice but to let go of Angel's saber. The two of them were gradually gaining distance from one another. Before he got out of range, Romulus pointed his unactivated lightsaber straight at Angel's landing figure, and pressed the switch. The black tube of plasma shot out at an incredible speed, right for Angel's torso.
All this while Romulus carefully and intently repositioned his left hand, glowing brighter than before.

The Trakata technique Romulus employed had severely disrupted the angle of the kick, as Angel's Force-hand had been grabbing it. As he landed, Angel's senses resounded. That same black blade shot out to his right leg (thanks to the angling shift), but Angel's still-imbued Force hand swatted it away. Resultantly, the black blade sizzled close enough to lightly singe his leggings, but not enough to sear it. Angel somersaulted away and rid himself of the Force energy in his hand.
That was entirely too close.
With a single blade in hand and without break, Angel zips forward, almost like teleportation, thanks to Force Speed and performs a midair Shun spin to build momentum for a power diagonal downward stroke towards Zone 3 (left hand). The attack is a Djem So Falling Avalanche technique; this attack can be blocked with a horizontal rising parry, albeit the defending blade would require two hands to reduce the fact it'd be significantly forced down thanks to the sheer kinetic power of the Djem So technique. A one-handed sideswipe would shunt the blade, but both attacking and defending blades would be out of striking capacity temporarily. The lightning in Romulus' hand would also suffice in meeting the blade to deflect it, but he'd have to expend the lightning in order to neutralise the kinetic impact, and it wouldn't be enough to short it out.

Romulus saw Angel spin towards him, and weighed his options: Block the attack, or dodge it? Dodging it could allow Romulus more time to plan a second attack, but blocking it would allow him to immediately follow up with his own attack. Romulus' mind wavered to the 2 blue-bladed lightsabers hanging from his waist. 3-saber style... ...no, not this time. For Romulus had made his decision. He faced Angel's attack head-on. Just as the blade swung down, Romulus aligned his body slightly to the right. The falling lightsaber hit his shoulder, eating through the fabric...
...and stopping right on his phrik-laced tattoos.
Gotcha.
And Romulus swung his free hand forward, with such speed that the black blade drew a clean arc in the air, right for Angel's open body.
y'know for a character who claims to be more Force-aligned, Angel sure knows some fancy moves.

Angel was about to followup the power down stroke with a Zone 5 offensive sideswipe, but quickly transitioned into a Zone 5 defensive. As Romulus angled right, Angel shifted left; the blade slid off his phrik shoulder, into the Zone 5 attack stance; then Angel shunted both blades away with the Zone 5 defense maneuver, blocking the sai tok Romulus had aimed at his torso. With both his and Romulus' blades out of striking range for a split second, Angel used that moment to dislodge blades, spin around and launched a colossal Force Push at point-blank range, hoping it would slam Romulus against the wall hard enough to at most, crack several ribs; at least, knock the wind out of him.

Romulus took the force push head on, and allowed himself to be thrown backwards. But instead of slamming, he used the Force to slow himself down, and made contact with the wall feet first. Romulus then pushed himself off the wall and back towards Angel, drawing a second, blue lightsaber from his waist. He landed on the ground, and spun on the spot, before holding both blades parallel and striking towards Angel with a powerful downwards swing.

Angel leapt back as Romulus spun forward, dodging the brunt of the attack. Angel channeled Force Push energy through his blade as he lifted his other hand and made a fist, summoning a different surge of Force energy and shaping it into a ball within a second. He launched a bolt of kinetite towards Romulus' chest, timing it to coincide with the final followthrough of Romulus' down-arc in his power swing. With Rom's blades still in the momentum of swinging down, Angel hoped the unorthodox Force counterattack would catch Romulus off-balance.

Romulus barely had time to breathe as he instinctively channeled Force Weapon into his chest. The kinetite ball hit him square on, but it merely blew Romulus back, once again making distance between himself and Angel.
But now he was ready. Romulus threw his black saber in the air, abandoning it for the fully-charged lightning hand. With a concentrated burst of Force Speed, Romulus flew forward and aimed his lightning blade directly at Angel's chest. A full-frontal attack.
No need for fancy techniques or intricate planning here: the energy amassed in Romulus' left hand could be described simply in one word: deadly. Powerful enough to eat through the thickest durasteel plating on any AT-AT, and pierce through even the most stubborn of Force barriers.
Time to end this.

As Romulus threw his saber into the air, angel drew his other blade and formed an X in front of his chest; drawing on the accumulated Force Push energy and accelerating it into both blades. Leaning his entire momentum into the counter, he blocked the incoming assault. The lightning blade met both blades head-on in a unique bladelock. Angel knew very well by now the effects of the ability his former apprentice had created. He couldn't meet the attack head on; it'd eventually eat through the Force-barrier. Instead, being a Force-master, Angel knew that if the blade was Force-generated, it could be Force-repelled. The Force Push momentum in his blades served as the repulser of the main power of the lightning by redirecting the intensity of the attack away by "pushing" (as Force Push is named) a significant amount of the lightning's potency aside. However, Angel knew it would not be enough to completely dissolve the attack. The lightning blade, now with twice the cutting power of an ordinary lightsaber on max mode, made contact with his sabers.
With visible – but not strained – effort, Angel then brought in his tutaminis absorb ability into play in conjunction with the Force Push, attempting to suck in the raw lightning of the blade through the X formation of the blades to even the odds. Initially, the lightning was being drawn into the blades. However, the vast amount of Force lightning still actually present began overloading the blades. The lightning arced up and down the plasma, coruscating back and forth between his blades and the source (Romulus' blade) in increasing ferocity and velocity until over time, the lightning reached into the core crystals of both blades and short-circuited the sabers.
Angel sensed this about a quarter-second before the blades finally overloaded, subsumed with furious raw power. He threw the electrocuting hilts forward into the lightning blade, and began creating a Protection Sphere around himself.
Both lightsabers exploded.
The explosions would have probably absorbed most, if not all, of the rest of the lightning blade and launch both opponents away from each other again at considerable speeds.
The force of the detonations rocketed Angel backwards, but the shield he had begun to create had assimilated most of the lethality – so instead of disintegrating him, it flung him with a very hot, very strong shove halfway across the arena to land skidding on his back. Angel audibly heard the sound of a couple of his ribs break and a couple more crack as he made rather unceremonious, solid contact with the ground at a hard, high speed.
Before Angel had his back seared with friction burn as the momentum threw him backwards, he kicked his feet upward from his tumbling fall and somersaulted back into a standing stance. Regaining most of his perceptive senses as he recovered, Angel felt a throbbing over his back and his hands were aflame with pain, from holding the electricity at bay. He drew upon it, drinking it in to feed the beast of the dark side within him. His eyes began glowing a light yellow, as he felt accelerated healing rip through his side and "bandage" the affected ribs.
Angel stared at the crater in the ground ten metres away. The Academy custodians would have quite a job on their hands to set up for the next match, or even the show coming up later. From a hidden compartment in his sleeve, Angel drew a black shoto and with his other hand called Romulus' blade to him. The two black bars shone with an eerie light.
Enough. This Academy has seen what I wanted it to see. And you owe me two lightsabers.

Romulus stood at the other side of the training hall, clothes beaten and worn, and a worse-for-wear body.
The explosion caused by the lightsabers had caused immense punishment on his body-wide Force Weapon, depleting it entirely. His body had various burn marks around him, his back ached from hitting the wall, and his left hand's skin had been completely burned off. Blood dripped off of it menacingly. Breathing hard, Romulus raised his left arm to observe it. He took a deep breath and focused; sending Force energy through his body. The lesser burns around his body began to heal, and his back slowly stopped throbbing. But it'll take more time for his left hand.
Romulus then looked up at Angel, motioning to the his black lightsaber in Angel's hand.
I'll want that back.
Romulus began to walk over slowly.

Angel tossed Romulus' blade, still activated, back to him across the arena and began to walk towards him.
You've proven yourself worthy of the title and mantle I am about to pass down to you. Though you'll need to get that hand checked.
The sounds of marching echoed throughout the Academy halls. From around the different entrances on the various levels, 500 Sith warriors from the Dark Diamond, Angel's personal cadre stationed there, walked into the room and stood at regimental guard position, in stance for the processing that is coming.
A new Blademaster is going to take main control of the Academy, and its predecessor was giving the title. Important Councillors from various realms of Iridonia's society, as well as leaders in Iridonian government had landed under their escort at the Academy to witness the crowning. Anticipation grows both in the crowd and in the performers, waiting below deck in the hidden central platform. Angel echoed Kamy's words when he gave the title to Hawkeye a decade ago.
Lord Romulus, the time has come when you will have the chance to prove to all of us the worthiness of the title about to be conferred upon you. In the meantime, please enjoy what our people have prepared specially for this momentous occasion.
An extraordinary show begins.
From the middle of the ring in a trapdoor emerges traditional Zabrak dancers in the civilian military armour. They perform ancient K'thri techniques with dazzling acrobatics and furious speed, changing stance and combat style each time the musicians played the different song of each of the different Zabrak clans. The clan warriors displayed and represented the ferocious Iridonian fighting spirit and passionate vigour very well. This carries on for about fifteen minutes, before the next segment: the reeks.
Three reeks came bounding in from the beast gate, charging toward Romulus and Angel. From out of nowhere, a dozen Sith bikers leap over the crater of the two earlier explosions and land in between the two Sith and the beasts. They are dressed in the ceremonial midnight-black Sith robes. The riders began encircling the reeks, rounding them up. As they did so, the musicians began playing a different tribal beat altogether; the ancient war drums of Wortan when it was as bustling as Malidris before the Mandalorian Wars. It was a dark, but stirring upbeat rhythm. The bikers began accelerating, and the tempo correspondently increased, and increased, until it looked like one continuous ring around the reeks.
Suddenly the circle explodes. After the smoke clears, there are three figures standing in the middle of the arena: not reeks. Three Zabraks: one child, one adult, one elder. The three stare at Romulus expressionlessly as they slowly dematerialise, leaving the Iridonian symbol burning with an eerie purple flame on the ground. All the performing warriors gather together, face the two Sith Lords, and simultaneously kneel in genuflection.

Lord Romulus sits next to Angel and watches the show. The dancers, dressed in Iridonian armor, perform different ancient fighting techniques, while the musicians play songs from all the different clans. The show goes on for another fifteen minutes when suddenly several reeks come running towards Angel and Romulus. Thirty Sith bikers come flying over the the two and land between the the two men and the reeks. They are dressed in ceremonial Sith robes. The riders begin circling the reeks, rounding them up. The musicians are playing and dark, but up beat tune. Faster and faster the bikers circle until it looks like one continuous circle around the reeks. Suddenly, the circle explodes and after the smoke clears there are three people. A baby zabrak, a an adult zabrak, and an elder zabrak. The three stare at Romulus for a minute then fade away leaving the Iridonian symbol burning in the ground. All the warriors then come together and kneel at the same time. Romulus then stands, ignites his lightsaber, and salutes the warriors.
Very nice. Perhaps if I wasn't a Sith Lord... dancing might be a nice hobby.

Angel stands to his seat, and all the Academy people pay attention to him, still in formation as they await the necessary royal speech that Angel himself also found very boring.
My fellow Iridonians! Today I present to you a fine specimen from our Academy; ascending through the ranks like a krayt dragon through bantha. This is Lord Romulus from the Aran clan! And as you have just witnessed, he has the natural power from our land within him; he's here to teach what he knows and to increase our power!! To unleash our anger!! From now on he will be the Blademaster of our Academy, and you are all invited to join the ceremony inside the main foyer of the Academy.
Angel turns and faces the black statue of Darth Maul's menacing figure looking down upon them fiercely; there he stops and turns towards Lord Romulus; indigo magicks of Sith Alchemy formed in his hand, and out from the dissipation of mists was the ceremonial golden zhaboka he had received from his own master, Hawkeye, years back.
Lord Romulus, I present to you now the golden zhaboka of the Academy, now you are its gatekeeper, its master, its protector. I hope you will honor your oath and this place will give us the glory we have sought. And all of you people, I thrust your sons, the inheritance of all the ancient clans will come to learn what has been forgotten and to grow as the invincible planet that we will be... Salute your new Headmaster, Lord Romulus!
The present soldiers, warriors, and Academy students took to a knee and saluted; the government officials bowing with head low in acknowledgement, due to their higher caste.

Romulus looked out upon the people of the Academy.
By my blade, we shall rise. Hinder me, and I'll cut you. Side by me, and I shall cut those who oppose you.
Thank you.

So now, this Academy is your responsibility. I must forewarn you our Iridonian brethren are still slightly askance over foreigners; be wary of who you permit to land on these premises; in any case any visitor MUST request clearance; this is now your total duty; you will back their acts with your life. Go and redeem our former glory.
Now that this is official, you "officially" have work to do. Fare thee well, Lord Romulus. And go get that hand checked.
Go occupy your homeworld.
With that, Angel concluded the ceremony by motioning his wrists; the warriors marched back to their posts, the officials left to their ships, and the students slowly filed out. Angel turned and exited the Academy.
