"Of course not!"
Said the moff slightly annoyed by the lack of a response. The Rodian coronel looked visibly upset too.
"We now have the tools to defeat our enemies"
He waves a hand, his face was emotionless but he was actually enraged. Only a pulsating vein on his forehead could spoil his spotless and composed facade.
"I suggest a full assault on Etti IV in a rotation"
The moff clicks, rather strongly, another key, displaying an holomap of the system.
"They have planetary defenses, here and here"
Two points on the map.
"Golan platforms, in groups of two probably one of the first and relatively weaker models. One is closer to the planet's moon, which we believe house a base, strongly defended"
He leans back on the chair, clasping both hands on lap, more relaxed.
"This is my suggestion, Inquisitor. My fleet will deal with the moon base, you hit one of the Golans and try to deliver a ground assault on Etti IV. I suggest maximun strenght to be delivered. Our objective shouldn't ne the capital itself, but few villas belonging to the slaver lords and the main military base, a stronghold near the North pole of the planet"
He seemingly took great delight in pronouncing the possesive "my" regarding the fleet.

Reya watched as the Lightspawn struggled to stay standing, and noting all the harm that had been done to it. That was definitely her mother's handy work. Zariel had been trying to teach her daughter Force Lightening over the past few months, but Reya lacked the anger and deep connection to the Darkside needed to manifest such power. All the same, she tried yet lacked that deep anger and hatred. Unlike her other apprentices, Zariel couldn't bring herself to be cruel to Reya, so as to help unlock that darkness. But it wasn't like Reya was planning on using it, not yet any way. Valon hadn't made any sort of move to threaten her, and besides, the force field kept him at bay.You presume much, Valon. Why do you say I'm out of place here? Your jailer and my mother are one in the same. I am here she indicated the brig, because I was curious. I heard of a great beast that my mother could not break. An impressive feet, since most of her Dark Jedi were once lightsiders. That's something you should know about her. She doesn't like wasting... things. Why kill a lightsider when you can turn them to your side? Not only do you succeed in removing a Jedi from the galaxy, but you also gain an ally or servant. Shrugging She'll either break you eventually, or she'll keep you around for stress relief. Valon could not help but let out a laugh as Reya revealed her truth. That the child Zariel so fiercely fought and to build an empire for, was this woman that now stood outside his cage. He turned his head to the side to look at Reya with a smile, of all things, plastered across his faceYour family does not define who you are, Reya... Your mother may be of darkness, but you... No, you have a light within you. A flame of hope that has not been extinguished. Just because you are born of a dark lineage, does not mean you are darkness as well. Your presence invokes light and life... That is why you are out of place here, among all this death and destruction... His smile faded a little then, as he thought upon Reya's next comments. Zariel certainly could have killed him, and in fact he was certain she had come close a few times. Yet here he still stood, alive and captive for her next assaultI will die, before I give into the darkness... So I guess I will be here for some time... Acting as stress relief, until your mother grows tired of torturing me or my usefulness comes to an end... Valon couldn't support himself much longer, and settled down upon the ground once more. The electrical burns and damage taking their toll, given that the short time he'd had to meditate and try heal himself had not been enough. He leaned against the wall of blue energy then, smiling up at Reya. Her beauty captivating him in that moment as he felt his strength escaping himAn end which may be drawing near very soon... You truly are beautiful Reya... Your light will blaze brightly, and banish the darkness that might try infect your heart...

The High Moff may have fooled those not connected with the Force with his cool demeanor, but Zariel, one who made a career out of infuriating others to an extreme degree, could sense his shift from pride to anger and back again. I do apologies for my apparent lack of enthusiasm, she said in a complete monotone, but these kinds of ships take time to build, and longer still to train their crews. They will be a superb addition to our arsenal, once they are completed. But for now, yes, I would be happy to assault the enemy strong points on the ground. What say you, Captain? She turned to look at her second. Her cold eyes shimmering with a delight that was not betrayed by the rest of her face. It was a look the captain only saw after Zariel got done tormenting a Jedi captive.
=========================================================================
Reya scoffed, though inwardly, she knew there may be some truth to what he said. But right now, she loved her mother, no matter what things she did, and her mother loved her. And that was something she was not willing to risk, for whatever reason. I wouldn't be so sure. Even if she tires of shocking you, she'll find new ways to torment you. Perhaps I'll watch. Perhaps I'll help? You see, I'm not bound by any code or sense of 'right and wrong.' I do what is in my best interest. You Lightsiders are so predictable. You always look for the brightest light, like a moth. But you seem to always forget, the brighter the light, the longer the shadow it casts. As she had spoken, she had moved over to the cell, looking down at him. They had only spoken for a few moments, and now he acted like he knew her. That made her angry. She trembled with this anger, not suppressing it, letting it build up as her mother taught her.

He pulled himself back from the wall of energy and looked up at Reya as she drew closer. Trying to mock him as she sought to deny any truth in what he said. Perhaps she was right. He was not infallible after all. And what he saw, might merely be him hoping to find some goodness in a place of such evil I am sure she will do her best to torture me in new and varied ways... And maybe you will watch or even help her do so. Maybe you will even enjoy it. Such things are well beyond my ability to see... All I can do is hope. Hope that the light inside of you continues to shine and grow stronger... Or perhaps this light will amount to nothing, and you, too, shall fall to the shadows... My legacy is one of failure after all. My people lay slaughtered and their remains lost to the winds... In their hour of need, even I was not enough to hold back the darkness... The golden glow of his eyes seemed to fade. The light seeming to dim to an almost imperceptible luminescence. He wrapped his arm across his abdomen then, resting his hand upon his side I may be weak, but I sense that power building in you... If I am to die, or I am to live... It will be at your hands Reya... Not your mothers... Not her guards... Yours...

He had gotten enough sleep to stay attentive during this meeting, so no nodding offs this time. The Captain looks up at the battle plans presented by the High Moff before speaking. With the crews getting some adequate rest, they will be in good enough shape to hit ground targets.Saren scratches his nose slightly before continuing to speak.I was given a review, by Lt. Colonel Bravanc, on the condition of the Stormtroopers under my command and he has assured me of their fighting effectiveness. The 77th and 78th will be ready to commit to ground operations.

"Good. Our assault troopers shall be employed to capture key enemy points with the support of our walkers and heavy artillery"
Said the high moff.
"The intel provided by Intelligence says that the defenses around the several manors across the country can be substantial, but they won't be able to withstand a full assault, they're mostly there to counter aggression by other rival slavers and deter bandits or pirates or even the very populace they enslave. They're a tool of fear, but we don't fear petty tyrants. Those not protected by a shield shall be mauled by orbital bombardment. You could use your darksiders to try to get the stronghold by surprise. Once the leading families are vaporized or slaughtered and their fortress taken, the rest of the slavers and executives should surrender quickly. Being swift is our best course of action here: do you concur, Inquisitor?"

Zariel nodded along as if a youngling only half paying attention to her daily lessons. But she mad sharp note over every detail that came from Torkan's mouth. She and her cadre of Dark Force users would make short work of any villa they could infiltrate. If her forces and those of Saren could make a big enough noise, then that would be all the distraction they would need. This wouldn't be the first government she 'destabilized' and she had a feeling it wouldn't be the last. A sigh. Yes, if we can draw their attention away from their own defenses, my Dark Jedi and I, perhaps along with some skilled commandos, will be able to make short work of these outlying villas. Another sigh. With two fleets we shouldn't have much trouble rooting the scum out of their holes. So do call if you need assistance, High Moff, I'd hate to see your fleet damaged needlessly. This statement of course was false, she couldn't careless about how well the Moff made out on this attack, though she was feeling somewhat more in the mode to promote cooperation between the two, given how hard the Moff had been working to improve the technology available to them.

Reya, as she stared down those golden eyes, suddenly felt sick to her stomach. It wasn't a natural physical ailment, though it manifested as such. She turned away as she shivered. This room suddenly felt very cold. And dark. Perhaps she was seeing it as Valon saw it? Whatever it was, it made her want to vomit. But she didn't regaining her composure, she turned back to once more defy the Light coming from the cell before her.
If it be by my hand or not, it will be on my mother's orders. You cannot trick me, I will not betray the one who has shown me nothing but motherly love!

He watched her seem to physically recoil in that moment, turning away from him as she shivered. But just as quickly as she turned away, she managed to regain her composure and turned back to him. Seeming to think he was trying to trick her. He smiled up at her, meeting her gaze as she defiantly stared down at him I am not trying to trick you, nor am I asking you to betray her... Merely stating a fact. My Will may be unyielding, but as enhanced as my body is, even it has limits... Strike me down in anger, leave me alone to die, or choose to heal me. The choice is yours Reya. Your mother is not here to decide my fate... Only you... He let out a sigh, feeling weighed down and burdened at long last by the torture that Zariel had inflicted upon him I do not doubt that she truly loves you and seeks to try have your best interest at heart. Parents, for better or worse, will always love their children. They will go to what ever lengths they deem necessary for their children... Just as I tried, and failed, to do for mine... I pray that you never have to see your mother struck down as my children were forced to... None of us are purely of light or purely of darkness Reya... There is always a small part of the other side within us, somewhere. And sometimes we just have to decide which side we want to let grow, absent of any outside influence... Regardless of your choice, it was a pleasure to meet you Reya... To have a moment... A spark of light in all this darkness... It was nice...

"Then, we do have a plan"Said the moff with visible satisfaction. "My fleet will be ready in less than a fortnight"His new flagship was almost completed and the TIE Droids would soon begin to mass in the shipyards, ready to be alloted to the several new ships that had been produced and constructed and that were waiting to take off and were almost ready for duty. "We should meet at his arranged meeting point before converging on Etti IV. I have sent patrol ships and frigates to clear the hyperlanes, so we should have a smooth access to the system. But, of course, they shall be waiting for us"
He said. "Something else to add, Inquisitor? Or any of you present is willing to speak?"... Some time after the meeting, the High Moff summoned his silent red shadow, Thrune. "Azrea, you may remove your helmet, we're alone"They both were on board the Manticore, on the moff's private quarters, probably the safest place in all the Diarchy. "How's going the training and recruit of my new guard?"

Overlooking the meeting so far quiet as a Royal Guard could be, Azrea paid so far attention to it, yet decided to rather analyze their guests over the course of the event. She didn't really care about the Rodian officer and Atash himself, as she already knew those two. On the table they were so far the ones she could estimate the most when it came to their actions. Rather more interesting was the officer, who had accompanied the Lady Inquisitor as she tended to call herself. It wasn't hard to tell that the Lady Inquisitor had probably more in mind than she said, given that Azrea distrusted force users in general, her captain though was hard to estimate when it came to loyalities. Men like him were sadly the backbone of this woman, as he made a competent impression when it came to his report. Overall the atmosphere was for the moment relaxed, while the Royal Guard kept a clear mind. When it came to the overall strategy and technology, she would leave the talk to the Navy, as the real fight would await them when they would gather up the fleet. If their fellow allies will keep to their word, the High Moff could trust upon their aid, should things go dire within the space battle. However, it was naive to trust honeyed words and promises. She knew well enough what had to be done in order to restore the Imperial Remnant into one singular force under Daala's and Pellaeon's command as the means to unite all the warlords under a single banner - in the end only two remained.
--------------------
Ignoring so far the High Moff's suggestion, Azrea solely sat down in order to state her report. "Out of the thousand candidates, I see solely two possible options, three with some good will", she replied dry, while opening up a holo projector with a recording of two Stormtroopers fighting each other,"I tried to keep the losses at minimum, given our future assault plans, but a small portion of the participants did not survive and the rest of them is just as pathetic as the Elite Corps in which they're serving. They're fine soldiers, better than the standart troops, but they lack expierience, think they are good if they best their comrades in melee combat before they face me. Barely anyone of them tries to adapt to the situation and still follows protocols like the mindless soldiers they are and those who adapt make rookie mistakes, unworthy of an Imperial soldier." A brief pause followed after the harsh report. The Royal Guard will take time until we can be sure that our candidates will embody the glory of what once made the rest of the Galaxy even fear them, when the Emperor oversaw their training. Yet those six I will watch further can soon proof their use to us within the coming battles. If they can endure, what once I was able to survive during my training, they will be worthy of these robes, High Moff." To some point, she wondered if Atash would even understand her point of view upon the men she trained. Many would argue that it was just enough to put an expierienced Stormtrooper into a red robe to show the opponents the former glory of the Galactic Empire - yet from Azrea's own view it would only show the decadence of those, who had long forgotten the core of its identity. The Royal Guard was more than just a singular guardsman. They were bodyguards, assassins, commanders and hunters at the same time, the personal agents of the Emperor. Tasked with missions, even the Emperor wouldn't have trusted towards the ISB or his most famous commander, Darth Vader. Yet she hoped that the Moff would see her reasoning, given that she owed him and his troops already the position she was in.

Atash leaned back on the command chair, inspecting the holoprojector carefully. He nods in agreement.
"I agree. I only want the best of the best, not merely spineless worms clad in red pretending to be as much. I do not care either how many weaklings are culled in the process, they were unworthy. Do whatever is necessary, I trust you and thus, you have free hand to do whatever is needed. That means you have the highest clearence codes and will act as if you were an extension of my will. My Hand"
He gestures as he speaks, marking his words.
"Being a Royal Guard commands respect, instills fear. I need men and women who are as capable as any of those Palpatine ever had in his guard. Someone who will remind everyone in this Galaxy what means to be an Imperial, what means to be the heir of that long-lived legacy. And, also, that some of us haven't yielded and bended the knee to the pretender, the fake emperor in Coruscant"

He said. "Something else to add, Inquisitor? Or any of you present is willing to speak?" Sighing, and standing, Zariel gave the slightest of a shake of her head. No, I do believe that covers everything. But before she departed, the Inquisitor turned and addressed the Rodian engineer. And an excellent job you have done, dear. A faint trace of a smile. I do apologize for my seeming lack of interest in the new designs. I tend to get tunnel vision when their is an enemy to break. Turning back to her second. Sigh, smile faded. Shall we? ========================================================================= Reya turned as if to storm out, but stopped. Slowly she turned and looked once more at the Lightspawn. Pity had replaced her anger. He was so damaged he couldn't even hold himself up anymore. She moved back over to the controls for the cell and lowered the forcefield. The young woman was ready to send a wave of the Force out if the being tried to escape. But once satisfied he wasn't about to run, she moved back to stand over him. Crouching down, Reya put a hand over some of the beings more grievous injuries and let a bit of her energy flow into him. It would at least dull the pain he felt from the electrical burns, but it wasn't much, as she had never been trained to heal, this was all instinct. Seemingly coming back to what she considered her senses, she stood suddenly and backed away with a look of horror on her face as she looked at her hands. That was a mistake, I shouldn't have done that! Mother will be so upset!

For a moment, Valon thought Reya was indeed going to walk away and leave him to his fate. That he was going to lean over and fall into a sleep that he would not awaken from within this realm. But such thoughts were washed away as Reya turned and looked at him. He felt her move at the edge of his sight, the wall of energy disappearing a few moments later. He felt her ready to attack if he attempted to escape. But he lacked the power and knowledge to do so.
He lifted his face up with great effort to look up at her as she stood over him. His fading golden gaze watching as she crouched down and felt the Force flow from her hands into his body. Just as the metal had amplified the damage of the electricity, so too did it enhance and amplify the effects of Reya's healing. The golden glow of his eyes brightened as the little help she was able to offer took effect. The worst of the burns healing and feeding just enough energy back into him so that he might live a little longer.
He watched then, as a look of horror crossed her face and she hurriedly backed away from him. Her gaze locked on her hands as she claimed she had just made a mistake. He managed to push himself to his feet then, and placed his hands upon her shoulders. Settling his gaze upon her face No... No, the mistake was mine... Lock me in my cage and be gone from this place... Speak of this to no one! He moved his right hand to lift her chin, to make sure she was looking at him and that she was following everything he said You were never here, understand? You never saw the beast you heard about! He took a couple steps back, releasing his hold upon her then. Pushing her slightly to try get her into action. He had no idea where Zariel was or how long she would be gone for. But the Force told him that time was running short. He settled upon the floor in the middle of the cell Your mother loves you Reya... She will not hurt you... Now hurry, time is not your ally... Get as far from here as you can!

Atash S. Torkan Grand Inquisitor Zariel It seemed that, at long last, the Imperials were going to finally make their move against Etti IV. The Diarchy could not sit idle with the slavers and rebels still being around and ever present threat to the future of the Corporate Sectors new management under the Imperials. However, Captain Saren did have something he wanted to say before this meeting concluded and further business was pursued.Understanding the expedience of our mission to move against Etti IV, I do request, High Moff, that we are given twelve hours of rest. My fleets crews, troopers, and pilots are almost at their limit. I have granted them necessary sleep, however, when the news of your TIE Droids being produced came. The Captain keeps his gaze firmly on Torkan. If you can grant my fleet, and likely the Lady Inquisitor here, a little rest, they will be revitalized and ready to deploy. Otherwise, we will only incur unnecessary casualties if our armies are not at their full potential. Our manpower must be preserved until the Diarchy's borders are secure.

"As I said, you have fourteen standard rotations to prepare, captain"
He said, wavering a hand.
"I believe two weeks will be enough time to recover and prepare for any contingency you have in mind"
The moff flexes his fingers.
"Trust me, the least I want are unnecesary cassualties. And, by the way, the shipments of TIE Droids will begin in the earnest. Soon we will have sufficient numbers to swarm any foes daring enough to threaten our space"

Loghain Vance stood silently in the shadows while he watched and listened to the meeting that was happening. Loghain was not one to make a flashy entrance and would wait until he was certain the room was secure. He was a quiet man and hardly spoke to anyone, this was due to his passed experience with people and by being this way it allowed him to be able to gleam information that others may not be able to. Loghain had joined up with the Diarchy as he was tired of other force users pushing their beliefs onto others and using them as an excuse for their actions. It was Loghain's belief that if one found inner balance within themselves, then balance to the force would simply follow suit. He also believed that force users should not use their power to rule over others, but to help others rule and while not many people share in his beliefs, it had no affect on him as he understood that their viewpoint is based on their own personal experiences. Even though he was still listening to the others speak, he was deep in his own thoughts.

The Emperor's guidance was once key to unify the galaxy under one single banner and with his fall, we lack these means. Yet... as always hope remains that one day, we will be able to restore the glory of this Empire under its old administration. Perhaps our success will convince others from the Core to join our fight someday... Right now though, we should rather sort out the traitors among our midst."
Azrea didn't necessarily care for the trust, Atash bestowed upon her. It was in fact useful, but nothing worth noting. Right now she was more concerned about their newest allies. "No matter our new allies usefulness within the coming fights, make sure that we can keep an eye on them", she solely added coldly, "Today they might offer you a hand for our help at securing important key locations for our side, tomorrow they could turn against us. Be careful about them in my absence. Attempted murder is only the most obvious method of disposing a rival from his command among many others."

Only the scarlet shadow of the Royal Guard remained, guarding the door. "I expected you to take a seat and voice your opinion"He gestured towards an empty seat next to himself. "I was quite surprised to see someone like you requesting to be on board, Vance"The moff leans on an elbow, changing his weight from one side to another. "And moreso when you offered to serve me. As you might have seen I have to share power with a member of the Inquisitorius"--- "Yes, they could slit my throat, but they command no respect among the populace or the administration, they would be as fleeting as fallen leaves on Lothal's autumn"He said, looking at the Royal Guard. "I need all the legitimacy I can gather around me. All the symbols. And make sufficiently clear to our allies that it is me who has the real power in this diarchy, not them. In due time we will be a beacon for all those likely-minded out there. We will expand and... rule"The moff leans back on his chair. "However, I do not understimate the Inquisitor and her lackeys, they are dangerous, like a vibrosword without a hilt, you might wield it, but at your own peril"He touches his temple with a leathern finger, massaging a pulsating vein on his forehead. "And my new flagship is ready. Another symbol of power, the first Imperial III ever issued. I will handle the Manticore to you, as a token of your responsabilities and position"

She may respect the High Moff, but she believed in more pragmatic approaches rather than glorified talk. "I will ensure though that the Manticore will continiue to be as efficient as it was during your service", she then noted though, "As a token of our friendship, I recommend however to move your favorite officers aboard your new flagship, since I can't guarentee for their safety. I owe you much, Atash, but I don't own them anything - therefore, get them out of my way before they become an obstacle." To some point Azrea was surprised about her own kindness. Perhaps it was true what some say and she had became softer since she had joined up with the High Moff's remnant. There would be later enough time to punish herself for this moment in order to keep herself in line. After all she was a Royal Guard. The Emperor's finest. There was no place for mercy within her heart and pself-discipline would be the solution to get rid of it.

Said the former director of the ISB. If he knew about something was about human -and alien- nature and where the breaking points were. "The gigantic shape of a destroyer can put lesser governments into disarray. Planets are conquered just by fear and this ship will instill fear"
He waves a hand. "I'm sure of it, the Manticore will be in shape for anything you might throw at it. It's a proud ship, honor its legacy. And, of course, my crew is my crew. They have been with me for years, we're used to each other, I won't give it up. I will leave the choice of a new tripulation to you, commander, you're free to chose whoever you want among our current manpower. I guess you better than anyone to pick up your staff"The moff strikes his bearded chin. "May I know the results of your recent review of our current land forces? Etti IV might need a land assault to subdue it"
