The freighter had landed where indicated and the admiral proceeded to the meeting point established in the datapack, wearing his campaign uniform and acompanied by two, highly symbolic, GA guardsmen, wearing modified plastoid armor with red markings. Renzo was almost too eager to meet whoever was in charge, but he knew how to rein back his emotions; furthermore, he was already too disillusioned about how the galaxy worked these days and little relieved his mind from the burdens of command. At least he hoped that his office still had some regard among the self-styled successor estate to the Galactic Alliance. Force be with us.

Marcus spent a lot of his days traveling between Corellia and Talus, balancing the needs of his position as King of the FedDub and Prime Minister of the Corellian Coalition. He knew full well that had others been in his position, they would have had his daughter step in as Acting Queen of the FedDub. Thankfully his daughter understand well why he had not done so yet, and supported his decision. One day he would have to abdicate the throne, but it would not be today. Even as he sat in the Office of the Prime Minister, sorting through paperwork as a pair of Coalition guards pushed open the doors and gave Admiral Ostrenis entrance to the office. Marcus pushed up out of his chair, his cloak fluttering with the movement Admiral Ostrenis, it's an honor to welcome you to my office, please... take a seat sir... Marcus motioned to the pair of seats set out before the desk then

The cold eyes of the admiral scanned the room, maybe just something he took from years of continuous warfare, rather than just suspicacy on his side. But, clearly, he was measuring the Prime Minister, like a green-blooded predator. Both hands behind his back, he motioned to take one of the empty seats, his bulbous head tilting as he did, as some sort of respectful salute.
"I'm thankful for your hospitality, Prime Minister. Took us some time to cross hostile territory to come here, we even lost a good cruiser on the way. But I thought our greater chances of survival and progress laid with you"
The Crix Madine had been a good ship, but a Resurgent annihilated in the proximity of Onderon, were they were took out of hyperspace by a gravitational mass.

Marcus lowered himself back down into his own seat, thankful for the leg brace that helped support his weight as he sat down. An aide came forward then, placing glasses on the desk and filled them with water before disappearing. Marcus listened then as the Admiral spoke of his travels to Corellia and the losses suffered in that trip. He took a sip of his water before setting the glass back down War is an ugly thing, and each casualty is a great loss... Their sacrifice must not be in vain, and you have indeed come to the right place to ensure that is not the case. The Corellian Coalition welcomes you and your forces with open arms so that we might stand together as a bulwark of freedom against the Imperial menace known as the First Order... As long as you and your people are willing to fight on. Otherwise, we will still gladly offer refuge to any that seek it...

"I cannot, in good faith, to remain idle while the galaxy is ravaged and torn by war. Me and my crew, like Loth-wolves, will make sure the Imperials cannot find a moment of peace"
Assured the admiral. His cold red eyes looked determined, even if his alien eyes were hard to read.
"We will leave our refugees in your custody, but after some well-diserved rest the Oathkeeper and my other ships are willing to fight for the Coallition. We could spark another rebellion..."
He leaned back on the chair. Sipping some water, wishing it was the famed Corellian whiskey instead.
"But I fear my current flotilla is hardly up to fighting size, considering the Imperial's current might. Two Nebulon-Bs -one of which is a medical frigate, not too heavily armed-, four Blockade runners and my own flagship might not be enough. I'm afraid we could need some replenishment, Prime Minister, if you truly want us to be a sizable threat to the Imperial assets and borders"

Graemon Gorgano walks down the hallways of the Capitol Tower, making his way into the area where the executive leaders of the Coalition's government resided. He checked the time on his watch, noticing that the Fondorian was a bit early, but he had to make his report to the Prime Minister. After all, an appointment had been made on this day to discuss the finished rearmament of the Redemption. He goes up a turbolift, making his way to the office of the Prime Minister Starmane.
The doors hiss as the Baron Gorgano walks in, but finds that Starmane is not alone. A Duro was present, wearing a Galactic Alliance naval uniform and bearing the rank of Fleet Admiral by what Graemon saw on his chest. He checks the time on his watch, seeing that he was on time, but it seemed the Prime Minister had another appointment.
I am terribly sorry, Prime Minister. I had hoped to speak with you about the Redemption, but it seems you are occupied. Should I come back later?

Marcus nodded in understanding as the Admiral spoke of his depleted forces and their willingness to fight on, making a couple notes with the work station on his desk. The first of which was to ensure all the officers received transfer of rankings into the Coalition Navy, while the second was to requisition assets to repair and replace the vessels of Admiral Ostrenis per the Admiral's desires While we have had quite the crisis recently, we have plenty of new settlements for refugee's to make homes for themselves in thanks to the great work of Captain Lynne Jameroo. As to your fleet, the Corellian Engineering Corporation Shipyards and our various member states will be glad to provide you ships of what ever designs they can produce and supply to you. I leave the composition of your forces in your own capable hands... Marcus turned from the Duro Admiral then, shifting his gaze to Baron Gorgano as the man entered his office. A small alert on his workstation reminding him of the previously scheduled meeting that he was meant to have with the Baron. One which had been somewhat forgotten amid the arrival of new survivors from the Galactic Alliance. Returning his attention to the baron he shook his head and waved off his inquiry My apologies Graemon, Admiral Ostrenis arrived rather unexpectedly with his fleet and more refugee's from the Galactic Alliance. And as he has agreed to aide us in our fight against the First Order, I am sure we can trust him with information regarding the Redemption... Please, go on....

The Duros' eyes shine with a mix of relief and excitement. Again he would have a full fighting for and, what was possibly more important, the flame that was the true reason to keep fighting had rekindled with a spark of hope.
"She's working towards a noble and hopeful goal. The captain will have the aid of my crewmembers, I don't wish that the entire families we brought are divided and they should be settled taking their origins into consideration: they will surely have a smoother transition if they live between neigbours, so to speak"
His fingers pitter-patter the chair's arm.
"That's a quite generous proposal, Prime Minister. I will have to work around with what your shipyards might be able to produce and which ships are available. I don't wish to strain your resources beyond what's reasonable. Maybe I will consult with some of your aides in that regard, I like to take matters personally. Also, we do have displaced personnel but might need fitting individuals to compliment the new crews, properly. My men and women will examinate the candidates your people deem worthy of serving in the fleet"
The admiral turns, now for the first time, to look at the newcomer.
"Baron? Is that a Tapani title? I know Fondorians are part of this Coallition. Or this title hails from the Imperial aristocracy?"

Graemon turns to address Admiral Ostrenis who had spoken to him.
You are correct on the former, Admiral. I am Graemon Gorgano, Consul of the Union of Fondor, one of the three founding states of the Coalition and head of our Coalition's security and intelligence division. My baron title hails from that of my Tapani background. I fear that, if I was Imperial aristocracy, I doubt I would be where I am.
He gives a rare smile before touching his eyepatch. The Fondorian adjusts the patch slightly, feeling a slight draft entering his eye socket.
Sorry for the intrusion, Admiral Ostrenis. It is good to see that more have escaped from the chaos of the Outer Rim and found their way to safety. I will ensure that the refugees you brought with you are put in the able hands of Doctor Jameroo. She and her team have done wonders for the hordes of homeless and desperate that have come to Coalition space. Know that your fleet has the shipyards of Fondor are at your service as well.
Graemon then turns to Prime Minister Starmane, pulling out a handheld holoprojector. He keys it on, revealing a Resurgent-class Battlecruiser. Little information bubbles appeared and began indicating areas along its hull. The Redemption seemed finished by the looks of things.
My brother, Valerian, has told me that the Redemption is ready for full operations. He suggests running a necessary combat simulator in order to test its capabilities and get a crew acquainted with her. Once the tests yield their results, she can be formally introduced to the navy's ranks and serve on the frontlines.

"One never knows, you could have followed the example of old Baron Fel of yore"
It might have been a joke, but it was lost in the alien's very cold demeanour.
"I'm thankful for your good wishes. Doctor Jameroo must be a capable individual, I hope she will have enough time to meet me on the Oathkeeper when she comes to pick the refugees there. And if you're indeed in charge of the shipyards you must, of course, come to me, for I have forces to replenish"
Ostrenis' eyes shimmer with authentic excitement.
"You captured a Resurgent? That's incredible. They don't usually end in the losing side, neither are they easy to capture, they can carry up to one stormtrooper legion... I had never seen one in the hands of any Republican faction"
He leans forward to read the especifications in aurabesh and the various data displays.
"You should forward the internal data on the ship to me and my commodore, knowing this ship intimately could be very useful. Like it could lead to us finding weak spots or flaws in its design, even if Imperial have gotten more careful with time... that's certainly of use in a battlefront"

I assure you. Doctor Jameroo is one of the best. Her concern for the people is most remarkable and the people who follow her are skilled as doctors, soldiers, and officers. The refugees you bring will find proper homes and, hopefully, a new purpose in life to build anew.
Graemon allows Renzo to take the holoprojector, if he so desired, to examine the details up closely.
Unfortunately, the state of this battlecruiser was... in a worse condition I have ever seen. When it was brought to us, any data pertaining to Imperial plans and information was corrupted beyond measure. Despite days, weeks, and months of trying, nothing could be done. Its weaponry and other necessities were shot to the point that it was nothing more than a lumbering hulk of metal. We had to rework its entire weapon system and replace the shot technology with adequate counterparts.
It was a surprise that the ship even functioned when it came to the Corellian shipyards for refurbishing. The Baron Gorgano had some doubts of its ability to do its job, but hopefully the skill of the Corellian and Fondorian workers would pull through and make the Redemption fly and fight without issue.
You will have access to any military records on the Resurgent, Admiral. I will ensure clearance is given to you later today.

"It's a shame, it could have been very useful, but the scorched earth tactic is something these... fiends, have gotten used to. At least the frame will be of use and the very shape instills fear"
He examinated the ship closely.
"A fitting ship to rally around. It does its job both as a carrier and a mauler, like any Star Destroyer"
He himself was so fond of his darling, the red ISD he called ship and home.
"And the symbolic value of fielding a converted enemy ship against themselves or other factions cannot be ignored. It has been like this since almost two centuries ago, when General Calrissian led the Emancipator after Endor. Or General Antilles with the Lusankya... Sorry for the rant. Thanks for the eagerness to help, baron"

Graemon's eyebrow went up slightly. It seems he had misspoken about how the condition of the Resurgent came to be.
I am sorry, Admiral, but the Redemption was not in its condition because of the Imperials trying to prevent it from being captured, but because of the team that had captured it. They had been a little over zealous, from what I had seen in the reports, and thus had inflicted quite a condition onto it trying to put it in the right condition to be captured.
Might explain why, once the battlecruiser had been deposited, that the team had seemingly vanished.
This was, of course, before the Coalition was even a concept in the mind or on paper. Before the recent galactic war had happened as well. This Resurgent is likely among the first of its kind and, knowing the progression of these Imperials, they may have altered its configuration or created newer Star Destroyers to be able to fight against it.
Graemon looks at the holo-image of the Redemption.
Still, there was muchwe learned from this ship. This alone shows us the advancement of Imperial technology. And I was unfortunate enough to fight one over Taris during the midst of the previous war our galaxy endured. She will serve her purpose to the Coalition. Now we just need a good order of TIE Liberators to fill her racks and make her fully serviceable beyond a legion of our own soldiers.

"Well, surely the Imperial techmen were diligent in scrapping records and removing information from the ship's servers. But, it was a sloppy job then, as it was both destructive and too slow, it would have been quite more useful otherwise"
He waved a hand, disappointed at the seemingly incompetent work of the operational agents in charge.
"Simple often works best, the Alliance always had good fighters to pulverize any eyeballs the Imperials could field. I myself always favored even the older models, with slight tweaks they work wonders, I assure you. The only thing a fighter needs is a capable pilot and a good astromech, some of the best aces we ever got didn't relly on a state-of-the-art ship. Posibly those TIEs are too expensive to manufacture, compared to a solid pair of squadrons of B-Wings and Crossfires working and flying in unison"

Marcus sat and listened as Renzo and Graemon talked with one another about the Redemption. The Admiral keenly interested in trying to study the Resurgent they had captured in hopes of using its information against the Resurgents the First Order was fielding. It was a good idea, and perhaps one that may prove useful, if only to better assist boarding parties. After all, there were only so many places you could put a bridge and reactor, even if the route to them was slightly differentThank you for the update Graemon, I have a crew and Admiral in mind for this particular duty. I'll be sure to re-assign them shortly to begin preparations... As for the Liberation Fighter's, I will certainly review the order and make sure it receives top priority, if it is not already. They will prove quite valuable, given they are based on the stolen First Order special forces TIE fighters we acquired. Certainly they are far less expensive an investment than B-wings and Crossfires. And much more daunting for the Imperials to face in battle...Marcus touched a couple controls, before a pair of holograms appeared. One for the Redemption and one for the TIE/lfImperials may move fast, but the Coalition is able to move just as fast, and soon we'll be able to move faster. We're young still, but we are growing by the day. In fact, much of Doctor Jameroo's efforts with the resettled refugee's are to thank for this. The economy has seen a boost thanks to the new cities and with the incentives on offer, many who can fight, are signing up for military service...

"I had no idea of such fighters being into production. I believed it was something else entirely. But, of course, there is no way I should or could know"
He studied the hologram, the wavering blue light flickering in his bug-like eyes.
"Certainly, could be a good choice, specially since you won't have the need to modify the hangar's racks that launch the TIEs, an element that I always found quite useful to give the fighters some momentum. I use myself two TIE squadrons combined with good old sturdy Gallactic Alliance ships. The strong point here is that we can combine multiple elements in our advantage, while the monolithic and uniformed nature of the Empire is less adaptable. The figther wings of the Alliance have always proved to be the cornerstone of most our past victories"
The admiral scratched his chin, pensive.
"You need to integrate more systems, be more daring, or either the Imperial propaganda and fear will sway them over. Do you, per chance, have any planets and sectors in mind?"
He raises both hands.
"Sorry if I'm intruding, I have no right to ask these questions, but the rush of excitement gets me carried over. You have supplies, power bases, good shipyards, a considerable population in all your sectors and capable personnel: this is a solid start to take over the galaxy or at least over a sizable part of it. From my travels and later campaigns I can point out that the southern rims of the Galaxy have a weak imperial presence. You, or better, we, could capitalize on it"

If our people have been doing their jobs correctly, indeed no one outside the coalition should know of the Liberation's existence yet... Marcus chuckled, making sure to forward a copy of the Starfighter's stats to the Admiral so he can review them in greater detail later. He waved away the holograms then, before bringing up a display of the galaxy as it stood now. Or at least as best they understood it to be based on their own territory and reports from spies and travelers. Sectors of control highlighted in different colors to represent what the Coalition knew to exist. Though, there were certainly factions that held territory beyond their own knowledge. Marcus motioned toward the Coalitions territories Make no mistake Admiral, our power base has only just reached its current status, and it has been a hard fought battle to get this far. However, we certainly intend to do our best to expand our control and rid the galaxy of the Imperial menace. I must warn you though, we are not in the habit of taking over the galaxy like the First Order. Our goal is to liberate worlds under Imperial oppression and offer them the chance to join us in this fight. Any who wish to refuse us, are welcome to do so. But we will not conquer them by force... Marcus focused the display on the southern reaches then, where large swaths of unaligned territory existed. Worlds being highlighted then that had known independent Warlords and Imperials reigning over them Right now, our most immediate focus is to secure the worlds between us and the worlds of Hoth and Endor. Indeed, as you are aware, there are a number of unaffiliated Imperials and Warlords reigning here that we can remove, without bringing the full might of the First Order upon us at such an inopportune time. In fact, once your forces are refitted, and the Redemption receives its Fighters and new Admiral, I'm hoping to begin launching offensives into these territories to remove these tyrants and reach out to these people and offer them a place within the Coalition. And if not, provide them any help they request to set up their own governments to oppose the First Order...

"Certainly, you did a good job, first time I saw these fighters"
The Duros reminded himself of checking the fighers' specs, maybe he could incoporate some of them to replace the lost squadrons.
"Time and time again life has told me to not get over enthusiastic, specially with the current estate of things. But it's a relief to not be on the hunt for the time being"
The admiral leans forward again.
"Of course, it was merely a form of speaking. No conquerors but liberators. Everyone must know a fair and representative government. The fall and dissolution of the senatorial system was a big loss, the authocratic ways of the First Order bring more harm than good and many will soon realize that on their own, or I expect as much. Dissention will arise in due time. Another rebellion, or many"
He studies the holographic shapes.
"Certainly... warlordism is an unavoidable plague these days. But that also means they're easier targets, while imposing they can be brought down without such a strenous effort on our side"
He leans back.
"You have my ships and my people. Once my flotilla it's back to shape I will be up to any task you seem fitting to deliver upon my shoulders. We have to bring hope to the southern fringes of the Galaxy. And there're systems whose support would be invaluable, like Bothawui: their spies, ships and just sheer power would be a great asset"

Marcus smiled and reached down into a small cabinet built into his desk, producing three glasses and a bottle of the finest Corellian Whiskey money could buy. A gift from the government of the FedDub on the day he was elected King of the Federation government. He poured out drinks for the three of them, before offering Renzo and Graemon two of the glasses. Making sure to stow the bottle away before lifting his own glass up To the Redemption. Marcus took a swig of the whiskey, enjoying the smooth taste of the alcohol before setting the glass down Indeed warlords are unavoidable, but we will ensure their downfall, especially with the help of the Redemption, your forces, and those of the Coalition... Indeed, Bothawui would be a valuable ally. Baron Gorgano, you intended to visit the Bothan home world, did you not?

Graemon takes the glass offered before taking a small sip. The Baron still had work to do and didn't need his wits dulled by alcohol. It was a good drink to have after the day had ended. For now, the Fondorian would drink it slowly. At the mention of Bothuwai by both Admiral Ostrenis and Prime Minister Starmane, Graemon would exhale slightly, setting the glass down.
We have made some attempts to establish contact with the Bothan Sector, but with little success. It seems their local government has gone into a sort of... quasi-isolationist stance. Likely because of the reports of a rising power in their region. Coalition merchants, and other guilds, have seen warships going up and down various hyperlanes. Though many are wedge shaped like Imperial Star Destroyers, none of them belong to the Imperials. The First Order's symbol is not upon their hulls.
And with the reports of the previous Sith attack on the Jedi at Felucia, it was likely the ships belonged to that order.
The Diplomatic Corps and I have decided to go in person to speak with the Bothan government. However, given their position in the galaxy, in proximity with our own territories, it may be difficult to convince them of the benefits of joining us as a member of the Coalition Senate. I am ensuring the best of our diplomats are available for the mission to Bothuwai and the Bothan Sector.
