-Sal Everyone's a critic. Chrick, give me a boost.
The large wookiee fell back the the Sullustan's position. A moment later & the diminutive female found herself flying through the air. With a surprisingly graceful & light step, Sal landed on the top of the thin metal wall & immediately tripped her cannon's tractor lock system. Seeing the smoke pouring from the third auto turret, she immediately spun & fired a pair of shots into the last corner of the compound. The first shot was only a glancing hit, bouncing off to explode in the ground outside the compound. The second shot however was a direct hit that reduced the turret to slag. As the droids turned to fire at the 'new' highly prominent target in sight of nearly everyone, Sal deactivated the tractor lock & let herself fall backward. Chrick had been waiting at the bottom of the wall for just that & easily caught the smaller female, cannon & all.
The first two shots of NCO's carbine proved underpowered for the task of damaging the durasteel gate frame. The third however hit with the power of a small cannon, instantly melting a fair chunk of the top of the frame & raining half-melted slivers on the droids still heading for the invading trio. Despite the gate missing most of its top third, & the number of droids taken out by the liquid metal, the remaining frame remained standing.

Only the living. CLEAR!
This was either going to buy a few minutes or get messy fast, but probably both if considered honestly. Aya would receive the all clear signal, as NCO rolled forward, collapsing the nearly spent shield, and when his boot soles were perpendicular to thee ground and pointed at the open gate, he set off the repulsors sending the broken droid parts, flying back into the compound, perhaps along with some of the droids closest to the gate. He was really only looking to buy some precious time, for his unarmoured companions, since his armor could hold up long enough for Tal'tracina to arrive and sort things out. Coming to his feet again, inches from the cooling threshold, and continued firing the rifle as it had cooled during his somersault. His armor soaks the shots that return to him as Sal drop back off the wall.

Within moments of being declared clear, the LAAT that they rode in on swung above the tree line & came to a stop over the compound. The droids were not even close to being capable of handling an assault transport, mainly as most of them were designed for combat in the first place. Within another half a minute, the remaining droids in the compound found themselves in pieces. Once the surface had been confirmed as clear, the LAAT settled down near the middle of the compound. No more than a glance inside of the open deck of the ship was needed to confirm that Aya wasn't aboard the ship. A Platoon of thirty troopers quickly dismounted the Ship. One of the troopers quickly approached the Mercs. NCO's HUD marked him as Lieutenant Gruuber of SS Defence. As he got closer, the single four-pointed star on his left shoulder & Anvil icon on his right shoulder served as a visual matched for his designation. A quick scan of his HUD would show that Gruuber was the highest ranking Trooper in the area, a point highlighted by the floating 'crown' icon indicating overall command of the area.
-Gruuber Lieutenant Gruuber. I'm in charge of holding the compound once you three finish securing it. The only thing left based on scans should be the central structure. The scan suggests roughly ten rooms, but it could be anywhere from nine to twelve because of counter-measures. One last note, CEO Aya asked me to remind you that MMC would prefer the target taken alive.

Preference has been noted, and I haven't levelled the place... yet. The target isn't an idiot, he may be dead when we get to him. I don't plan on slotting him though, we have plenty of options when it comes to bringing him in alive. That was part of the reason the droids were such a problem, I am kitted for an organic target. Expect company, friendlies, and send them our way when they arrive sergeant.
NCO took the time to let the adrenaline rush to pass, and his armor some time to cool off. Then he marched straight for the structure indicated and decided to check with sweet stuff and her play book once more. He stopped at the main entrance and turned to face the contractors, canting his head in an obvious question.

During the time that NCO & the duo were resting & preparing for the final push, the Troopers fanned out through the compound & began to secure it, mainly by making sure that the downed droids were inactive by hitting them with ion bolts & checking the remaining storerooms.
At the entrance to the bunker, NCO was soon rejoined by Sal & Chrick. Sal had stowed her cannon somewhere & was fiddling with the dials of a blaster rifle that still managed to look far too large for her.
-Sal My heavy tech isn't much good in small spaces. I've still got that stun grenade for the target, otherwise this is your show. Hang on a sec & let me sync up our comms.

Tal'tracinya arrived and landed just outside the compound's front gate, having been updated on the current situation. Four similarly armored men exited the ship moments later and joined the trio waiting for them at the bunker's front door. One of them pulled out what appeared to be a data-jack and inserted it into the available slot just beneath the key pad for the door. Their comm's had already been synced to NC's comm, and when Sal synced hers and Chrick's comms to NC's she also synced with these four. Slick, the man using the data-jack, began probing the system seeing what he was up against, and looking for by pass routes to nullify security systems. Slicing was his profession, he couldn't compete with Aya of course, but he was still at the top of his game.
Buir wants it in one piece, what can you find out about this bunker and it's occupants?
Three steps ahead of you boss. You pick up a date in town? Didn't think you were the sort to play both ways.
Keep talking and you'll get a front row seat and complimentary live dissection.
Sheesh, keep your bucket on...

Unfortunately, the system in question was too low tech to gather much info. It would seem that either the door was on a separate system from everything else, or that none of the systems in the bunker actually linked up with each other. Slick did manage to get the door codes, making blowing in the door unnecessary.
Due to the fact that neither Sal nor Chrick were wearing helmets, their comments could be heard over both the comm channel & the mando's external audio feeds.
-Sal Oh, goody. More bucketheads.
Chrick's only reply was an amused chuckle like sound.

Us bucket heads can take hits you and Chrick can't, and in the bunker you may not have room to dance around incoming fire. If you got a problem with putting forth an armoured front to take the brunt of what ever retaliation we receive, you're welcome to take point.
The door opened and the four new arrivals move into the room in pairs, after Slick reports the dismal state of the system, and retrieves his data-jack. They check corners and move to take positions near other doorways leading from the room. NC follows a moment later, just in case they found unreasonably strong resistance that would need a strong response. He went in rifle ready, using the live sensor link from the fire-team's helmets being shown on his HUD to pick out targets as necessary.

To describe the room beyond the entrance as somewhat hostile would be a very, very large understatement. As soon as the door opened twelve turrets began to pump an unholy amount of fire at the newly opened gap. While ten of the turrets seemed to be the pest control type from before, the last two appeared to be modified E-Web emplacements. Additionally, several dozen small slots opened on the floor, walls & even ceiling pushing outward roughly a centimetre. The HUD of NCO's suit was advanced enough to spot & immediately paint each of the slots as sensor strips for explosives. The entire room, which was more of a long hallway of death, immediately filled with dozens of overlapping bubbles of 'trip-wires' for the explosives as the HUD mapped the trigger range of the mines. Fortunately, there was plenty of room for the Mercs to duck back away from the door & back onto the 'porch'. Watching the hail of death coming from the door, Sal turns & starts walking back toward the main group of troopers.
-Sal On second thought, I think I'm going to go get my cannon.

The fire team notes the sudden extreme opposition and backs out to consider their options. NCO orders everyone to fall back, except for one trooper who is to fire a grenade into the hall, as far as it will go, and see if they could get a chain reaction going in the overlapping coverage of mines. Not being suicidal, the trooper falls back to the doorway where he slides out of sight, and set the launcher to fire into the hall at an angle that denies the turrets a direct line of sight to him or his weapon but will get the grenade as far along the hall as possible. NCO didn't expect great results here but he wasn't far from settling into excessive hostilities himself as this nasty bit of clean up was growing tiresome. The rancor below was about to get skinned and spitted, despite the lack of profit in the equation.

The grenade went off with a satisfyingly larger than normal boom, along with several secondary booms. A quick glance, or sensor, poked into the doorway would reveal that several of the mines had gone off due to being placed too close to each-other, taking out three of the smaller turrets & apparently damaging the rotor assembly on one of the E-webs. a large number of mines remained active in the hallway, however. Sal returned a few moments later, while the cannon was missing she was carrying a metal orb roughly the size of her head & sporting an evil grin.
-Sal Look what I found. It is a pinball mine, not sure what the real name of it is, but close enough. One of the shiny boots was seeding these around the entrance. When it goes off it shoots out lots of little pinballs. It probably won't due much for the turrets, but I bet it will clear up the mine problem. Only problem is we need to keep the turrets from shooting it long enough for it to go off.

Cannon fodder, well, it wouldn't be pleasant, especially for the fire team, as the concentrated fire was taxing their armor heavily, but they could do it. NCO designated positions in the door way in his HUD that the fire team would also see. He would stand in the middle, and take the brunt of the enemy fire, the other four would flank him, two on each side, and work on eliminating the turrets, one at a time. NCO started an audio count down from ten, and at one, he stepped into the center of the doorway and brought his rifle to bear on the undamaged E-web turret. The fire teams would be picking off the smaller turrets one at a time, with each pair working together on a turret. They would continue until they took a hit or finished clearing the turrets, which ever came first.

Had his shield been deployed the tactic would have worked flawlessly, Standing in the middle of the door, every one of the turrets focused on him, allowing his fire team to pick them off without triggering another mass detonation of the mines. Each of the remaining little turrets went down in a single shot, while the E-Web only took three. The breach only took two & a half seconds.
The Dragonskin armour NCO was wearing had been personally designed & built by Admiral Z'har D'Ordinii. It was relatively light weight & easily capable of handling light arms fire despite its flexibility. The integrated Beskar plate in it would also help to protect the wearer's vitals against heavier fire as well. There where exactly three suits of the armour in the galaxy. Each one fitted, built, & personalized for a single being. It could also, if needed, be integrated into heavier suits of armour to function as a body-glove. It was, in short, some of the best light armour that could be made. It was not, however, designed to take the full brunt of an E-Web cannon being supported by nine light turrets with an output roughly on par with a combat blaster pistol.
That being said, the armour did hold up for an impressive second an a half. Much of the surface of the suit was literally vaporizing off the now exposed armour weave core, making it look like the entire front of the suit was smoking. Several of the Beskar plates had been exposed under the assault, but had held, most likely saving the life of the wearer. Much of the electronics had been melted or fused from the generated heat. All in all, the suit would need to be nearly completely refitted before it would be serviceable again & the wearer would be spending at least a week in a bacta tank to heal from massive second degree contact burns & several small blaster holes through none-vital portions of his body. Fortunately, there where several medics on hand to keep him stable long enough to get to one of the several hospitals nearby that had Clan D'Ordinii ties.

Well, that went well. It really had, actually. NCO had been concerned that the turrets were remotely controlled and that the controller would aim for the weaker joints of the armor instead of hitting him in the center of his mass, where he was best protected. True he regretted not having found the time to buy some heavier plates to go over the dragon skin, but he'd fix that right after he finished recuperating. After the turrets were knocked out, the fire team pulled NCO back, placing him on a hover gurney, where medics took over his care, The ranking member of the fire team, a lieutenant, ordered NCO med-evaced via the gunship, before turning back to his team where indicated that the job would be finished with extreme prejudice, though the target wast still to be taken live. The four men, returned to the bunker, reviewing what damage the pinball mine had caused and planning their progression from their.

Only a few of the mines were still active in the corridor, & they were spread out enough not to be a threat since they were known. The entire hallway looked like someone had tried to melt it, sandblast it, & then power wash it with acid. What had been a security door on the far end of the hall was so damaged that it looked like a solid kick would bring it the rest of the way down. The only things moving in the hallway were the wisps of smoke issuing from spots of the floor & walls.

The men moved in and began searching using standard procedure for sweeping an occupied building. They moved with precision trusting their training and comrades to keep them from suffering any serious injury. The squad lined up at the door, with one of them standing opposite the door, waiting for the signal to kick the door down. The signal came and the door was kicked down, the men rushed through with the usual precision of a mando'ad commando team, checking corners and keeping each other covered as much as possible.

One after the other the remaining rooms proved to be undefended, rather expensively decorated, & completely abandoned. The last two rooms however showed signs of being rather hastily vacated, with the door leading from the last room, a incredibly luxurious bedroom, showing signs of being barred from the other side. From the other side of the door, a voice calls out in rather shaky tones.
Stay away! I'm armed!

The fire team notes the defiant shout, and lines up on the door, ready once again to knock it in and move in. Blaster rifles were set to stun, and light charges were placed, just enough to free the door from the frame, or so they hoped. The charges set, everyone ready, the final command is given, with a sense of morbid humor.
Fezzic, rip his arms off.
The charges are blown, and the door is given a healthy kick by the point man who then steps to the side, while the rest of the team moves in rapidly firing at anything that posed a threat, while fanning out to minimize the chances of being caught in a crossfire.

There wasn't much room to fan out as the room beyond was a bathroom, albeit a very fancy one. The rather rotund man inside took two shots, one of them just a graze, before his 'weapon' was revealed to be a rod for unclogging sewage lines.

Aya was in the Citadel. Well, maybe that wasn't exactly accurate. Yes, in one sense she was in the Citadel. There was a physical body there. Moving, speaking, even appearing to breath. That wasn't Aya though. Just a puppet dancing on a string. A unbelievably complex & expensive puppet, but no more intrinsic to her being than a comfortable pair of shoes. There was another sense that Aya was in the Citadel. Aya was, in large part intertwined so deeply into the private security grid & holonet the clan used that it was more like a second heart beating in her chest. Every video feed, every computer system, all host to her own unbound mind. But that also wasn't Aya, watching the vast ticking of the ever growing Clan, even the most secret parts.
No, Aya was alone in a small, dark room. No lights burned there. No sounds intruded. Someone in the room would even know what planet they were on, or if it was even on a planet at all. It was as safe a location as a multi-sector distributed, self-aware computer program could make. It was from this plain room that the puppet master carefully pulled & toyed with the multitude of threads spread out around her like a web of thought. If the small crystal carefully locked in the center of the room could make a sound it would be something like this.
-Aya Oh shit.
