This might be over my paygrade.
Rogo was hard pressed to hold the ground against the frenzied Quarren, who was using very raw and brutish movements to keep him pinned in place. And he had been taught to be mobile and dance around opponents, instead of engaging in a duel like this. He was starting to sweat, because even deflecting his blows was being hard on his arms' muscles and the elbows themselves. It seemed like he was hitting him with a heavy hammer, instead of a weightless lightsaber. Nio was beeping around, alarmed, trying to surprise the fallen jedi, but he was far to aggresive for him to find a gap. Rogo then decided to use the spinning function on the saber, which he hadn't used before. The blade started to spin around furiously, breaking the enemy's posture.
"What... is this?!"
Rogo could then slip to a side, avoiding a glancing blow and push the Quarren against the wall, giving him some room to breath. The corrupted Jedi slammed hard against the concrete and fell on his knees, lightsaber lit. He pants but gets up soon. The inquisitors circles him with the double-bladed weapon on the ready, inspecting his movements.
"You're no jedi... neither a Sith, you're just a rabid cur!"
"You tell me? It seems... you're not... seeing... the Gamorrean... on the room, pal!"
Rogo almost regreted the tease when the Quarren charged forward, screaming at the top of his aquatic lungs. He almost lost focus and fell backwards, but could regain balance and deflect the blow, the foe's sword slashing through the floor.
That was close.
They then returned to the exchange of blows. Now, being at the middle of the room, Jan could swing his sword easier and have a greater control over the duel, spinning around the enemy. He managed to pierce the Quarren's left arm over the elbow, which was surely painful enough and, then, he almost severed his right leg. However, the Quarren had clearly been a skilled blademaster before falling pray to whatever nonsense he muttered behind his squid-like teeth. While Jan had received proper training as an Inquisitorius, clearly the jedi had an upper hand. They kept fighting and fighting, dueling all over the place. Drops of sweat started to appear on Rogo's forehead, feeling weary as the combat dragged on. He started to rely more and more on the range and trick of his weapon, trying to recover part of his strenght by keeping the enemy at bay, instead of having to struggle in close range.
Alright. I need to try something.
He tried to focus on the Dark Side, channel the strenght from his very core. The fear felt when he saw the abomination over the altar, the hatred towards his masters and his opponent, the pain he had felt in the past, electricity running through his veins as he was being tortured by Lady Zariel. And he could feel it back, surging towards the surface like an irresistible wave of power. Rogo did a wide slash, and spins in circles, forcing the fallen Jedi to step back, gap he used to raise his right hand, extending his fingers. There was some hesitation and, then, a crack of energy was released, lightning emanating from his fingers. Nio yells, excited. And the Jedi grunts, caught by surprise. Rogo's eyes now are tainted by the dark magic he was employing. It was intoxicating and exhilarating. He kept releasing the lightning over the foe, who started to feel the pain delivered by such power. However, there was a flash in his beady dark eyes, he screamed again, but this time was different.
"NO!"
Oh, no...
There was a huge wave of energy, one that blew up the already derelict ceiling and shattered all the windows. The Force push sent Rogo flying against the wall, hard, breaking the lightning chain and making him drop the lightsaber, that flew, masterless, to a corner of the room. He could barely breath and his head felt like hammered against an anvil.
"Now, pet, you die. Do you see the Abbyss? The dark pits where the Great One dwells? There I will send you... your flesh will feed the many-angled ones, once I devour you, slowly"
He's way too powerful.
Rogo could barely stand, still on his knees, trying to catch his breath and looking for his saber. He saw the feet of the Quarren closing by, taking delight on his advantage. He felt the ozone burning and the hiss of the blade as the Quarren approached. Jan commanded the force, trying to get his lightsaber back, but it was too late, the Jedi raised his blade, delivering the fatal blow... But something hit the Quarren from behind, quite strongly. The saber missed Rogo by an inch, cuting few of his airs, that slowly fell to the ground. The circular hilt of the Inquisitor's saber again on his hand. There was a circular movement. A slash across the chest and a face of surprise as the fallen Jedi fell to his knees, the air hissing while leaving his powerful amphibian lungs. He gasped for air desperately, while articulating incoherent words with his beak-like mouth. Rogo stood on his feet and slashed again.
Ferking sleemo.
Nio was hovering over the corpse, looking at his master inquisitively.
"I guess that was your lesson, never underestimate a droid, you ferking son of a rancor"
"Beeeo, bep bop biiiiiiip"
"Wow, that was... crude, who programmed you to talk like that?"
He sights, kicking the Quarren's face.
"That was far too close. Thanks, friend, I owe you one"
Rogo reaches for his comm.
"Lord Silas, here Inquisitor Rogo, the threat has been eliminated, but... there's something here I believe you should see, my Lord. Rogo out"

No response came from Silas, not that one was needed. A few moments passed before the distinctive scream of another TIE fighter could be heard arriving, though this one looked unlike Rogo's Dominador. For those familiar with the Empire, they would recognize it as more akin to a TIE/D Defender, but with its wings inverted. It was a modified variant that had only been granted to a few Imperials, and Silas had been one of them.
Silas pulled back on the controls as he approached the warehouse building which had been cordoned off by the local police force. He set the ship down just outside the building before exiting the craft and making his way inside, heading straight for the office where he sensed Rogo to be waiting "Inquisitor Rogo... please, show me what you found..."

Rogo had some time to organize his thoughts and put them in order. He nods: "Follow me, my lord. It's upstairs. You can read the report to know how we reached this place and the reasoning behind the murders, the file is pretty self-explanatory. Oh, here we're..."The traces of the fight were plain to see: the shattered windows, the half-blown ceiling, the scorching made by the deflected lightning and the numerous lightsaber marks left on pillars, walls and floor. "Nio identified him as Jedi Master Oraloh Lope, but I assure you he was no longer a Jedi. My droid has sent you the recordings of the fight, you will find them very interesting, I'm sure. Specially the audio"
The corpse was already there, laying where it had fallen. "And... these... I've never seen, Lord Eye"He pointed at the scribblings and runes. The altar made of body parts, the flesh and bones fashioned in the shape of an unholy figure, including the mutilated severed head of the gangster, barely recognizable. "He was very powerful. Even if frenzied, his swordsplay was hard to counter... he was driven by something or someone else"

Silas followed Rogo as the young Inquisitor lead the way through the crime scene and up to the hidden office space where the fight had plainly taken place. His gaze scanned the scene, taking everything in while listening to Rogo deliver his report. Things had definitely taken a rather unexpected turn, starting off with a simple suspected active Jedi or Force User. But it had ended up with the culprit dead. There were undoubtedly answers he might have gotten much more easily had the man lived, but sometimes such things were unavoidable "You've done good work Inquisitor Rogo..." He moved across the room, carefully avoiding the body, and squatted down to examine the altar. Strange runic markings were carved into the flesh and bone that made up the altar. They were in a language that Silas vaguely recognized as being some mix of Quarren and the old Sith language. There were bits and pieces that he could translate, referencing something or someone known as 'The Voices'. Silas examined the figure which depicted a creature with four arms and a faceless skull. The name "Xaztes the Faceless One" was barely legible. Silas rose to his feet and pulled out his datapad, quickly bringing up the recordings to play back Oraloh's last words "Hmmm... It seems we have stumbled upon something far darker than initially imagined Rogo... I've heard reports and seen visions of a group upon Dac... They claim to serve these... Creatures of the Abyss. I considered them a threat, but... I did not imagine they would be here so soon... It would seem our friend here was offering tribute to one of them. Perhaps hoping to try summon this... Xaztes upon Etti IV..."

Rogo was aching from the prolongued duel: his back and arms were a knot of pain and exhausted muscles, even if the Force provided strenght to him beyond a normal human could. And producing the lightning had drained him. "He... saw something in there, that much is true. Something nightmarish"He added. "I believe he was fundamentally broken before they killed his padawan. That only pushed him further down this slippery path or maybe it just shattered his pretense of sanity"
The young man looked worried and the droid in his back chirped anxiously, frightened. "That... is alarming, sire. What should we do?"

"If half the rumours are even true, he saw something nightmarish indeed..." Whether what he saw was real or not, Silas was not a hundred percent certain about. The dark side of the Force could produce and hold creatures of unimaginable power and might. Did he believe them to be true deity's? almost certainly not. But were they creatures with god like powers? almost certainly. After all, Abeloth, Bendu, Sel-Makor, Vitiate, and Waru had all existed and each had god like powers. These 'Voices' were just the latest in the existence of such creatures "We could speculate all day about what effect the death of his padawan had, whether he was pushed further down the path or it shattered his pretense... But there is one possibility worth considering: That he was crazed long before her death. That she was trying to escape his madness and whoever killed her was meant to be helping her escape... Or... perhaps he killed her himself... Whatever the case, the perpetrator is dead now..." He slipped the datapad back into his pocket and met Rogo's gaze "As to what we should do... For now, we need to keep an eye out for any other cultists throughout Diarchy territory. We'll need to deal with them before they can summon anything. For now, I believe a diplomat is being sent to Dac to negotiate with the Quarren Dominion. Perhaps via the government, we can gain an insight into what exactly is going on beneath those waves... While Diarch Torken's men are meant to be handling external intelligence, I do not believe they are equipped for dealing with a danger such as this... There is much to do Inquisitor Rogo... For now, we shall wrap this up. I want everything within this room delivered to the Cathedral. Have it all packaged and ensure none of these uniformed buffoons touch it directly. Am I clear?

Said Rogo, trying to hold Silas' gaze without flinching, like looking into a beast's eyes. "Maybe... but governments aren't too keen into their most devious practices surfacing, my Lord. Probably the diplomat won't gain much"
Jan looks around. He would need some support to carry it all back to the headquarters: he would have to call for a dropship. "Yes, I understand. All clear, my Lord. I shall use droid-help to pack the evidence in sealed containers, so it arrives the Cathedral in pristine condition"The Diarchy employed droids in several ways, one of them, of course, was as working force. Atash had equipped all the branches of government with their own droid workforce, as to compensate the lack of manpower or avoid stretching too thin the resources and manpower they already had.

"I don't intend the diplomat to gain anything on the matter. If he can open diplomatic channels however... It will make it much easier to embed our own agents onto the planet..." Silas gave a bow of his head and made for the door then, stopping and turning back to look at Rogo "And Inquisitor Rogo, I suggest you keep an eye on more than just Etti IV. The Diarchy is more than just one planet and I'd rather you handle future investigations, lest I have to waste my time repeating myself to every Inquisitor throughout Diarchy space that comes across this... Good luck..." Silas turned around without letting Rogo get in another word and made his way out of the building and back to his TIE/C, the Cyclone taking off a few moments later and heading across the city back to the Cathedral

"Of course, master Darkstar, it shall be done as you wish. I will handle these... cultist episodes if they ever show their face again on our space"He stood still as the prophet left, relaxing his posture when the fighter was gone in the city's sprawling landscape. "Beppp, booo bi bop"
Muttered the droid, calculating the vast numbers of star systems involved. Darkstar left and Jan had a chill, down his spine. The sweat was drying and felt cold, hungry and exhausted. The fight had consumed his strenght and the night's breeze was chilling. "I know. I know. We'll figure it out. Alright, let's wrap this up, I'm tired and I'm sure you need a power recharge" "Bip bop" "I owe you one. Ferking mynock-spawn... that one was close. Far too close for my taste"He sat, back leaning in a column still standing. The inquisitor then keyed in the built-in comm on his vambrace a message for his order's headquarters to send both a dropship and a couple enforcers droids to help with the gathering of evidence, corpse included, and clean up the building itself.

—Though there were many who took their time upon the surface to visit the newest district crafted by the Diarchy, others chose to slip away from the center hub of excitement and the finer aspects of living. To quite a few, visiting the bars and clubs of the outer reaches and darker bits brought a much more exciting experience to one’s life. And so those that chose to stay out of the main district enjoyed their time drinking and partying the small reprieve away, though they remained mindful of this fact for they didn’t know when the call to return to the fleet would come.—

Operation: HIERARCH
Ever since the moment Silas joined the Diarchy, he had been building toward one eventuality: Zariel upon the Throne. This entailed removing Atash Torkan from his seat as a Diarch and gathering the entire government beneath Zariel's rule. As such, the Eye of the Inquisition had been built up, becoming one of the greatest intelligence operations around. As far as it was viewed from the outside, Silas had merely been doing his job by creating intelligence gathering networks and developing sleeper agents. But those resources were embedded within the Diarchy as well, ensuring they grew close to Atash's trust. Silas had made plenty of overture's to the High Moff, ensuring the man believed him to be an ally.
But as with most things, it had all been smoke and mirrors, intended to distract from the grand plan. Unfortunately recent circumstances had set a less than ideal stage, with Zariel's disappearance in her search for the lost Valley of the Jedi. But a heavy blow had been struck against Atash with the desertion and betrayal by Azrea and her forces at The Maw. The moment to strike against Torkan was now, before he could recover from the loss. Silas would apologise to Zariel when she returned and claimed her Throne.
Thanks to his sleeper agents he was aware of the Grand Moff's movements and plans at all times, so he chose the perfect moment to attack. Torkan was a Politician, as such the Military forces had been placed under the command of the Inquisition. This made Silas' plans all the more easier as he assumed command of the Diarchy military forces and began the systematic arrest and imprisoning of Atash's allies. They were labelled as traitors to the Diarchy, with the propaganda arm enforcing this message to the people. The war had begun, and soon Torkan would be found and removed

The shielded doors trembled and the ceiling started to give in.
"The cortosis lining worked, sire, but they're using explosives now. We don't have much time"
The assault on the palace had begun on the earnest, but they had not accounted for the excellency of Torkan's security and guards, who had blunted the attack and held the ground. Even Inquisitors had been felled by blasterfire and vibroblade. Torkan and a group of loyals hurried themselves through an underground tunnel, accessed through his personal office.
"The Contingency is in place, my lord"
"Good, we have no time to lose"
Torkan knew sooner or later than his alliance, build on compromise and a fragile understanding, would eventually crumble and he would have to save himself and his work. Darksiders could not abide to reason, they and their unholy religion had again undermined a stable government, only for the thirst of power. The betrayal of Thrune was bad enough, but now Silas, whom he had raised and considered an ally, had stabbed him, trying to usurp power. But, Torkan was prepared. Doors slide open revealling a hangar, where a red-hulled yatch awaited: his private vessel, a marvel of engineering that rivalled the Imperialis itself. Guardsmen in long red cloaks and red armor awaited.
"Everything is loaded, sir"
"Fire the engines, we're leaving"
He then clicked something on his comm. At his command the files and copies and backlogs and everything of use on his private servers would be deleted, while he took himself a copy of his personal archives, including the throve of information from the ISB that he had ever since he was a mere director in said agency. The small group boarded the yatch, passing through a number of crates, loaded with priceless relics belonging to the Moff's personal collection and other invaluable artifacts he could simply not part with. The guardsmen entered the ship last, and the engines roared. A rocky wall openned itself, revealing an underground tunnel. In mere moments, the fast ship crossed the passage, leaving through a waterfall that concealed the entrance.
Torkan had taken seat on his chamber on board, lighting up the powerful computer. The holographic display was clear, the key locations at the capital were lost, including the High Command and the research facilities. A huge number of key members of the Diarchy's government was now imprisoned or worse, beyond recovery. A select few, part of Torkan's contingency, were now out the planet and the system both. Torkan ran through the files, stadistics and predictions. A war would be prolongued and cause significant loss of population and resources. The Diarchy would no longer be sustainable, losing important contracts and provoking a loss of interest among the investors and great companies. The assets would crumble and the bursatile class would collapse entirely. There was no way he could fight back without risking his own backup assets, including the millions of credits diverted to ghost shells and other front companies in Balmorra, Nal Hutta, Muunilinst and Brentaal IV. The yatch shaked as some flak or fighter fire impacted on it, but the redundant shielding made it almost impossible to crack unless hit by the heavy octuple battery of an Imperial Star Destroyer.
Soon, they were in orbit and a battle welcomed them. The navy, who had always been faithful to the moff, was battling the pretenders' forces in orbit, with a number of red-marked destroyers holding their ground effectively against orbit defenses, lesser ships and other cruisers. Many of those ships had been part of Torkan's battlegroup while he conquered the CSA in the name of the Empire, years back. They were loyal. Torkan keys the comm at his holodesk.
"Sire, we presumed you lost"
Replied back a stern-looking woman in grey and red uniform.
"Far from the truth"
"We're holding the ground, sir, but we fear they might have reinforcements soon. Large destroyers of those loyal to the Executrix and her ilk"
"They will, certainly"
According to reports, the Ghost of Gehenna had been seized and weaponized against the loyalists and would soon arrive to wreck havoc.
"The Empire needs you, commander Syronna. Is my flagship ready?"
"The Eviscerator is at your disposal, sire"
"I need an open route to hyperspace, commander. Break the enemy line"
"As you wish sire"
She answered, rather grim.
"Apply secret initiative 0.0.B.G.76. Code: Redemption. I will see you again commander, I will not forget your loyalty"
"Long live the Empire!"
The grey-clad commander hailed her superior and cut the communication, her holographic shape flickering and disappearing. Soon, the defensive formation was broken and the destroyers focused in a single point in the enemy line. The Eviscerator, guns blazing, mauled a smaller cruiser, the shields of which started blinking and soon disappeared, the hull pierced by blaster fire, erupting in a ball of flames and debris. Every ship suddenly acted in almost a suicide fashion, taking huge amount of damage just to make an openning. One of the destroyers, an old Imperial-class, had an eruption on its upper hull, both shield generators wrecked by bombing assaults and precise starfighter attacks. The aged destroyer started to break apart, but as it did, sublight engines roared and made the dying ship ram a Golpeador-class, taking it down with its own last breath.
"Sire, we have an openning"
"Take it. Coordinates stored in navi-computer, codename: Ashen Nest"
"As you wish"
The yatch, with engines as powerful as the Nubian starships of the Naboo royalty, crossed empty space, debris and fighting lanes in a blink, heading for the stars. Soon, amidst the carnage of two dying destroyers, a red bullet entered hyperspace with destiny unknown. Before leaving, Torkan clicked a button and, in the surface, the palace was blown and explosions shattered the High Command from the inside, making it crumble on itself. The loyal forces then disengaged and the surviving forces followed suit, scattering like leaves on the wind. Torkan sighed as space disappeared and was replaced by the fast moving lights of hyperspace.
A shame, what a shame. Time to lay low.
The now dethroned Grand Moff removed the plaque on his chest, he looked at it and sighed. Then laid back on the chair, somberly looking through the viewport. With uneasy hand he keyed something on the console and forwarded a command ahead. Somewhere in Corporate Sector, well hidden deep within a starbase located in a remote asteroid field, a ship awakened, thirteen sublight engines thrusting the ship forward...

Operation: HIERARCH
Silas was a foe many underestimated, their bias' viewing the Force as an archaic religion and disregarding its power. It was ultimately their downfall. His enemies tried to outsmart him, and set plans within plans. But Silas saw through them all, the Force granting him the ability to foresee events past, present, and future. He had played out the many scenarios under which HIERARCH would go, each time accounting for the most amount of variables in his own plans and preparations. Ultimately Torkan would escape, but Silas had ensured that it would cost the man greatly.
Each force was always just enough to take the Palace and the High Command centre. Key personnel that were vital to the Diarchy's continued operation had been evacuated and moved tot he Cathedral, while Torkan's loyalists that had been captured as prisoners were held in both locations. Thus it was that when Torkan activated both sites destruction mechanisms, it was his own allies that were set up in flame. The Inquisitors took losses for sure, but far fewer than would have otherwise been lost had Silas committed larger forces to either location. The Naval forces above Etti IV that suicided themselves against the Inquisitorial forces also worked well, their decreasing numbers providing a greater victory for the Inquisition.
Even as it played out, footage was broadcast across the CSA, showing Torkan "betraying" his own people, and escaping as his own fleet were forced to allow their cowardly leader a path to freedom. Loyalist forces were hunted down and slaughtered even as they sought to escape. Anyone that had not already escape would not leave the borders of the Diarchy alive. The followings days and weeks would see the clean up after the Operation and a restructuring of the CSA's government
