Perched as he was, a large number of the droids in the compound had line of sight to the armoured Gungan. Turning almost in unison, blaster began to tear into the wall & air around their newly acquired target. The first few shots were going wide, but he would have to move quickly if he wanted to avoid the following shots. The duo out in the woods keeps making their way toward the next spot they planned to fire from.

Not seeing the Compound's mortar emplacement yet, I take off along the top of the wall, firing at the droids closest to my path, to keep myself from running into to much blaster fire. The occasional shot nicks his armor, but it had seen and survived worse before, so he just kept running, still trying to find the Mortar via his HUD between shots and especially while waiting for it cool down.

Another few moments pass before the duo in the wood reached the next spot & sal braced for another shot. A few seconds after that, another of the turrets transformed into a pile of half melted scrap. The duo had just started moving when the mortar revealed itself again to lob another shell. The shell exploded as the two figures dived for cover, fortunately they didn't suffer anything move than minor cuts & bruises from the close call.
Meanwhile, inside the walls, the droids were quickly converging on the highly mobile form of the intruder. Several began to swing around in a direction that would take them slightly farther away from the target, but should let them flank him in a few more moments.

There it was! Time to get down to business. NCO dropped a live thermals detonator behind him, at the pursuing droids' feet and dove into a slide along the top of the wall, as it went off. It broke up most of his pursuit, and a portion of the wall, oops. NCO rolled off the wall into the compound, and started running back the way he'd come while angling deeper into the compound, shooting at the droids still standing in front of him with one hand, as he tossed an EMP grenade at the droids that had been trying to flank him. He reached the mortar building and forced the door with the help of some thermal det-tape. His armor was starting to warm up, now that he was standing virtually still and taking plenty of hits, thankfully they hadn't seemed to figure out that his armor was mostly impervious to blasters yet. He dove into the building, coming up in a crouch just inside and to the left of the door, and scanned the interior, dropping anything that opened fire, using his bracer mounted sonic carbine which would only rattle the electronics a bit at it's current frequency, but still wreak havoc on organic targets. Any Droids would get a carefully aimed burst from his ion pistol, wielded in his left hand. He smiled, things were starting to get exciting, but he kept an eye on his time, he couldn't afford to be in one place for to long.

Inside the small, recessed bunker was some sort of floating automated mortar flanked by a pair of loading droids each carrying a tray full of waiting shells. As the Gungan stepped into the open roofed room, a pair of small turrets whirred to life & began spitting out a cloud of blaster rounds. From the size & apparent strength of each bolt, it was fairly obvious that they had been originally designed to kill small rodents & other pests. Someone, however, had significantly increased the weapon's cycling rate, making them a much greater threat.

Well, that made things much simpler, NCO fired two shots from the ion pistol into both turrets, and then rolled a pair of EMP Grenades under the Mortar unit. That should disable everything, if it didn't then sister would be upset, because he'd start blowing things up. NCO slipped back outside, standing just to left of the doorway, as you approach the building, and fired the rifle at the remaining droids. He wasn't nearly interested in saving any of these, that's what the parasite was for, and Buir had many, better solutions to security than these. After the HUD indicated the grenades had gone off, NCO checked to make sure everything was down for the count.

The turrets had not been designed for combat, regard of the amount of after-market armour haphazardly bolted onto their shells. Each went clattering to a halt as the ionic energy overloaded their circuits. A moment later the grenades went off as well, causing the two loading droids & the floating mortar slamming into the ground. As the droids toppled, loose mortar shells were sent spinning across the hard floor.
In the woods around the compound, the Wookiee & Sullustan were picking themselves off the ground & checking each other over for serious injuries.

NCO nodded, things were working out very nicely today. He commed Aya on a secure line, that went through his personal ship, making tracing the recipient difficult.
Mortar disabled, seeking target now. Moderate resistance encountered, no casualties expected at this point.
NCO left a little surprise for anyone trying to access the mortar, before he was ready for it to go back on line. It was a simple proximity mine, placed just inside the door, out of visual range of anyone entering unless they were looking for it. He then moved on to the nearest dome to begin the hunt for his target. As targets presented themselves, he opened fire, using the rifle primarily, but using the Ion pistol when the rifle was cooling down.

The message was sent without out trouble, but there was a nearly immediate reaction from the compound itself. In addition to the nearly two dozen droids trying to pin down the agile Mando, dozens more began to pour out from several of the entrances to various domes. While all the droids were rather fragile, poorly armed models it was obvious that someone had spent a fair fortune on the collection. Within seconds nearly twenty droids had a line of sight to the Gungan & opened fire with their weak, but still fairly accurate blasters.
Outside the wall, the duo noticed the comm message thanks to a small device their kept for just that purpose. The Wookiee covered his face with one large furry hand up mumbled something inaudible.
-Sal Oh, KRIFF ... Do you think we should help? Or should we just let the fool drown in the pit he just dug?
The Wookiee rumbled something & then the duo set out to go help the Gungan out of the mess.

Well, that changed NCO's priorities a tad bit, and he moved to the compound's main gate. Which he vaulted easily, again using his repulsors to boost his jump. He landed a little heavily, but he didn't injure himself. He then stood and turned to face gate, waiting to see if they would open up, or if the remaining turret would try to pin him, though he was a tad close to the wall for it's fire arc. He wondered briefly if the two contractors had survived the brief artillery barrage, it hadn't occurred to him that they might not have before now. He shrugged, that wasn't his problem, it's just make life a tad more interesting if they hadn't. He hoped they'd be working on a way to complete the objective while he kept the larger portion of the defences focused on him. If the gate didn't open of the owner's accord soon, he'd force it with the rifle.

The gate remained firmly shut, as the duo made their way across the blasted landscape toward the Gungan. Fortunately, both of the turrets on this side of the compound had already been reduced to scrap by the cannon wielding Sullustan. Once the duo reached the Gungan, the Wookiee aimed a very light slapped at the back of NCO's head.
-Sal What were you thinking? First you rush off without setting up a contact method or plan. Then you go & trigger every last alarm the place probably has.

I know my father, the quite way has already been tried, and by beings far more skilled at it than I. Did you think this armor was just for show? And you got the message didn't you?
NCO's voice was level, and cool, belying the fact that he'd basically just run through the entire compound in heavy armor, not an easy feat, but made easier by years of living in it, day in and day out. Still, he'd have to pace himself carefully if he didn't want to end up exhausted half way through the job. He'd used a lot of explosives to thin out he ranks of the droid security, he took the time to play what his sensor's had manged to gather of the droids and the capabilities, taking the time to focus on what they were doing in reaction to his actions and what weapons and tools were at their disposal. NCO also used the recording to tally the droids and their operational status. He used his wrist mounted holo-projector so the other two could see as well. Then, since the duo apparently found his work distasteful, he looked to them for a suggested plan of collecting the target. Turning to Sal, he addressed her specifically, while hoping my apparent inattention to the gate would prompt the stubborn fool to open up, though doubting he was quite that foolish.
Your call sweet stuff.

Sal muttered for a little bit more, but then seem to decide on a plan of action.
-Sal Right, the 'keep knocking little chunks out of the target's limited supplies' plan is pretty much shot. Time to try the 'blow everything up & hope we don't die' plan. Buckethead, you are on point. As they are already on full alert, we will use point-beam comms to coordinate. Try not to get far enough ahead of us that the droids can cut you off. Ready? Good, because I'm about to knock on the door.
Sal swung the massive cannon around to point at the gate, tripping the locking systems that would hold it in place, then giving the door a double tap. The first shot hit like a hammer on a gong, leaving the gate somewhat twisted, but still attacted to the frame. The second shot, on the other hand, blew the massive door free & back a couple of paces, crushing several droids on the other side based on the twisted chunks of scrap left behind.

NCO shrugged at her announcement, and turned to face the door as she opened fire. On second thought, might as well use the suits full features, he thought to himself, as he deployed a folding personal shield. It was styled and operated similarly to the shield used by the Militia Gung of Naboo, though both stronger and easily transported. Holding the shield in front of him, NCO took up a position just outside the door, to prevent the enemy from flanking him without scaling the wall, and opened fire with the ion pistol, taking time to line up each shot to maximize his efficiency. He also does a quick check on the parasite he'd set up at the beginning of his little run, seeing what progress it had made so far in subverting the local defense network. It had made moderate success, not gaining complete control of any one droid but subverting the sensor packages of many and managing to slightly change the data output to significantly reduce the accuracy of the droids shots to mostly near misses. NCO had it focus on subverting the droids targeting his unarmored companions, knowing they would not fair nearly as well as he if they took a hit. Then he continued picking off droids, one at a time, in relatively rapid succession.

It hadn't been difficult to subvert the targeting sensors of the droids as they had been sub-par quality to begin with. With the sheer number of shots fired, statistically they should be able to hit something important, unfortunately statistics had left for a lunch break. The wookiee, despite his size was proving incredibly difficult to hit as he dodged anything that came her direction, alternating return fire with his two blaster pistols. The Sullustan on the other hand was apparently wearing some kind of body armour under her clothes, as she had taken at least one shot without noticeable effects.
The droids on the other hand were doing much worse. Between the focused shots from the ion pistol, the over-powered cannon & the pistols hitting joints, nearly a dozen were already down. If the subverting module was able to do a head-count on the remaining droids, however, it would show nearly a hundred converging on the main gate.

Well... that was encouraging. NCO sent another message to Aya, requesting CAS, indicating the target was the large number of hostiles lightly armed and armored, but possibly capable of overrunning the contractors. He also requested an ETA, before focusing on the job at hand neutralizing the droids. His shield was powered by a small generator in the suit's back-plate, and it was able resist up to fifty shot from a standard blaster rifle and the generator could recharge the shield from 0% to full strength in twenty seconds, so long as he wasn't taxing anything else in the suit. The incoming rounds were, surprisingly, comparable to blaster pistols usually about one third the power of a rifle. As such NCO wasn't worried about losing his shield to incoming fire anytime soon, though the possibility of being over run was still a very real problem. He took a moment to swap power packs in the ion pistol, as he considered the area around him. If they fell back, they could use the minefield to their advantage, assuming they survived the mines and incoming fire themselves. It would also leave them with no way to balance the equation of numbers, so they'd have to just stick it out. He kept firing, popping off shots as quickly as he could without sacrificing accuracy, reloading as necessary. He only hoped Aya would be able to cut the numbers down to something reasonable before it killed the contractors, knowing his armor would last him much longer than anything they had.
Tinnies incoming, just shy of one hundred in number. At this rate we'll hit high water at about the fifty mark, got anything else sweet stuff?

The reply for close air support was simple & direct. There wouldn't be any as long as any of the auto-turrets were still active. Other than that, the LAAT could be overhead in less than a minute, but it was limited to the light beam turrets in armament.
Sal had taken another shot in the intermediate time & had shifted position to mostly behind the remains of the gate frame. This limited her field of fire, but helped to cover for the fact that her armour appeared to be smouldering.
-Sal I've got a single stun grenade & am open to ideas. I had planned on using it on our target however.

Plan B then, Tal'tracinya and crew was en-route to his location; ETA: ten minutes. Firefek, well, he could last that long and then some. Though the shield was being strained heavily, despite having all available power shunted to it to maintain its integrity as long as possible. It wouldn't be able to hold up for much longer, though it might last long enough. Time to ask sweet stuff for the extent of her contribution to the assault.
CAS won't show up until all of the auto turrets have been disabled. How many are still operational?
I drop the pistol, and grab my new rifle, shooting it one handed. Normally the loss of stability would ruin my accuracy, but today it doesn't matter. When it kicks into cool down, I take stock of the situation, and add instructions to disable the droids' IFFs if possible, or at least feed it false information just enough to cause some of the stray shots to thin out their own numbers.

The Sullustan called out from behind the dubious safety of cover.
-Sal One, maybe two. It depends on if my last shot managed to hit.
While the hack droid wasn't able to completely gain control of the local droids, it was able to switch the targeting data for at least three, who began to fire into the other droids nearby. However, their earlier reduced accuracy still hadn't been corrected so they were of only minor help. Only roughly ten more of the droids had been taken out of the fight, including the three converted droids.

What? Get those turrets down now! I'll hold here.
Firefek, the dikut wanted to berate him for getting the job done in an unorthodox manner and she hadn't even taken out her objectives! Well, I'll just have to figure out something until CAS gets here... I guess Aya will have to bill me for this one. Figures, but if that's the case, it's time to have some fun. Knowing my pocket is probably covering the reconstruction bill, I decide give the contractors a clean slate. I aim at the apex of the gate way and pour blaster rifle rounds into it, trying to bring the lentil down into the empty gateway while Sal knocks out those remaining turrets. Tal'tracinya's ETA: 9:30 and counting.
