--12 hours before the test--
Regardless of his display, they still walked him through the scanners & checked his documents. They didn't bother searching the ship, as their job was just to stop people from bringing illegal things onto the planet. They didn't care what the person kept in his ship. After waving the man through security, they went back to their central post, leaving the automated systems & security systems to keep an eye on the ship.
The main D'Ordinii base here was the Citadel. No-one except high ranking Clan members could get anywhere close to it due to the massive amount of defenses. However, the site he was directed to was one of the several offices scattered through the city. Like most of the structures built for & by the Clan, it looked more like a extra tall bunker than a normal office building. In the lobby inside, guests were being quickly directed into a series of offices that seemed to be mostly used for conversations with Clan representatives.

After I walked into the main lobby, I approach one of the desk clerks that are sitting at the front desk.
Excuse me, I would like to join the clan, if thats alright.
"Please proceed to room 2041. Next!"
After that I walked down to the office. The building was very confusing since there were so many offices.

The office was relatively plain, with most of the area being taken up with a large desk & several comfortable looking chairs. The figure sitting at the far side of the desk was wearing the same bland grey colored armor that seemed to be the standard out here. This particular version looked to be a modified EOD style.
-Office worker Welcome, how can I help you today?

The office worker wasn't surprised. Most of the people referenced to him had the same goal. It was also an easy enough request. A quick log in his armor's computer & the man would be set up to take the placement tests. They didn't even need to have any talks about motivation or desires as the tests were designed not only judge, but also to weed out those that meant harm to the clan. Plus he would give credit to any spy that could circumvent a full sensor suite that was literally sitting next to his skin all day of every day.
-Office Worker A simple enough request. Looks like the next testing period is going to be tomorrow. We will have to put you up in a hotel for the night if you want to go ahead. Otherwise, you will have to wait at least a week if you have other things you need to take care of before then.

Njogarroec was feeling sick to his stomach, he was worried that he wasnt going to pass and be a embarrassment of my family. But he wasnt going to let that get in his way, he put the sick feeling aside, and tried his best to ignore it.

==Recruitment SL== <<106 PP; S4 Sector, Etti IV, Mondder>> It wasn't long before Shyrkag was shown to the hotel. It was fairly posh, & the room service was covered for the night. The next morning the recruits were gathered up in the lobby of the hotel. It wasn't long before the man was herded onto a bus with about 40 other figures. After a short ride they were let out at a large complex just beyond the outskirts of the town. After another short delay, the recruits were lined up & processed. -Instructor All right. This is going to be very simple. You will all be taking an rather extensive battery of tests. They will range from General & specialist knowledge to physical, as well as several aptitude tests. The first half of the day will mostly be knowledge & information tests. You will proceed at your own pace. Once you complete each test, the next will pop up. Once you finish with those, you will be dismissed for food. Once you have eaten & rested you will move on to the physical tests. Very well, let's get under way.True enough, the first room they were shown was mostly a block of what looked like small study cubicles, with drones floating overhead & fixed holofeeds watching each work area. Each recruit was seated in a box & the tests began. The tests began simple & got progressively harder as it progressed, once a subject was finished the system would automatically bump them to the next subject. Of course if you did too badly for too long, the test would also bump you to the next subject. About halfway through the tests, one of the other recruits stood up & declared he had finished. A few moments later, he seemed to realize otherwise & ducked back into his work station.

The recruits all walked in and we all sat down. Then the instructor gave us a large lecture about what we were going to take on the test. After that, we all began our test.
The test wasnt to difficult, the bad thing was how long it took, the fastest someone finished was 6 and a half hours. But I was there for 8. The first couple questions were easy, they asked about some Mandalorian saying in Mando'a, but I know Mando'a pretty well. The more intermediate questions came along at about the 2.5 hour mark. It wasn't anything I couldnt handle, they were things like who founded the Mandalorians, and when, but that was pretty easy. But the last ones were the ones that messed with me the most, my brain was being pushed to its limits. But finally, it was all over, I had the worst headache ever, but at least I thought I aced it. Most of them I knew besides a couple that I had to put what I knew about the question, I feel like I missed 2 maybe 3, but overall I think I did good.
I stand up, and walk over to the front desk, and stick out my hand, and hand the instructor my paper.
-Njogarroec Im done, thanks for taking your time to test me. Where do I go now? Should I just wait for the rest?

As each of the test takers finish they are dismissed to a fairly large sitting area. There is plenty of room to stretch out or walk around, as well as a selection of food for those that want it. On one wall was a large clock counting down the time until the physical part of the test. It listed about an hour left.

Aldross sighed and gave a quick stretch and a yawn. He filed over into the room with the rest of the recruits and was surprised to see how many women were among them. He'd always thought of the Mandalorians as the brutal men-folk portrayed in the Mandalorian wars, as well as the countless mercenaries from the Jedi Civil War. Even stranger still he found most of them to be significantly attractive. Aldross was typically smooth when it came to the ladies, but he decided not to push his luck with Mandalorian women - he didn't want a one night stand to force him into another surgery. Speaking of surgeries, Aldross delightfully found that his wounds were fairing much better now than they were only hours before. He wriggled his fingers around on his left hand and found that all responded well to his nervous system's commands.
"Well that's a relief..."
The young man then walked over to a small ala carte buffet area where he grabbed a tray and filled it with a good mixture of different vegetables and starches - he wanted to have enough energy to take the next portion of tests, but didn't want to overfill on food either... then he heard that strange echo again. The echo seemed even closer than before, and Aldross began to hear it with more clarity, almost like listening to a second language with more vocabulary becoming accessible. He tried to pay it no heed as he sat down and began to eat. A few Mandalorian recruits gave him curt nods and slid a bit from him to give him room to sit. At least these Mandalorians seemed to be much more civilized than Aldross gave them credit for. He respectfully nodded back and continued to work on his meal.
"This stuff ain't half bad at all."
Aldross made short work of his food and was about to grab another helping, were it not for his own reminder to not overfill. He brought his dirtied tray over to a large stack of dirtied dishes and left it there, clearing off most of the bits of food still left into a trash receptacle. The server behind the line smiled at him in thanks, and Aldross waved back at him with a smile of his own. Perhaps he'd been wrong - he certainly didn't find the Mandalorians unsavory or detestable at all, but rather dignified and respectful. He got down on the ground and tried to warm up his muscles a bit, testing his left arm out with a few push-ups. Everything seemed to be in tip-top shape, so Aldross skipped a pre-workout and continued to stretch. He caught himself staring at a few Mandalorian ladies more than once, turning his head and blushing each time. He could have sworn that he heard one of them giggle, yet he put the thought from his mind - this type of distraction wouldn't bid him well on his next set of tests. He then noticed another like him - one that appeared to be in the right place, and yet out of place. He walked over to this man and bowed.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Aldross - Aldross Umarov... say, you ever been through one of these before?"

I reach out and shake hands with the man, he seemed very friendly, and I seem to remember him standing up in the middle of the test, but I wasn't sure.
-Njogarroec "Nice to meet you Aldross, I'm Njogarroec, don't even bother trying to pronounce it correctly, you can call me Shyr. And the answer yo your question is no, I have not been to anything like this before, how about you?"
As we spoke I kept going back and getting more and more food.
Damn this is some good food.
Eventually I wasn't hungry anymore, so I went over to the seating area with Aldross and we kept talking.
I wonder when the next part of the test is gonna be, I've been waiting for a while.

"Nah, nothing like it at all."
Aldross continued to make small talk with this Shyr fellow. He seemed to be nervous, but Aldross couldn't say much considering. He looked over at the clock on the wall of the mess area; it was almost time to continue the test. That in mind, Aldross stood once more and began mentally preparing himself for the next set of tests. As his nerves flared up from anxiously awaiting the physical portion, Aldross couldn't let the echo in his mind alone - or rather, the echo wouldn't let him be. It was less so an echo and now more of a clear dialogue, though in some language unfamiliar to him. The young man concentrated hard and tried to ignore his head, yet it was to no avail. He couldn't help but hear it - yet he didn't want anyone around him to know what he was hearing. He acted natural, looking more anxious about the next test portion than anything else.
"Let's get this over with."

A few minutes before the clock finished its countdown, the instructor entered the room. By the time the buzzer actually sounded, most of the test takers were already standing in a loose cloud around his position by the door.
-Instructor All right recruits. Next up is the physical portion of the test. First off will be a medical scan & basic fitness test. As all of you managed to walk over here, I expect you all to pass that part. After that you will be split in groups for field testing that your test results have indicated my be required for your possible occupation choices.
With that out of the way, the recruits were led to a large medical bay. The room was mostly taken up by ranks of large medical scanners. Each one looked like a large dome that a full grown person could stand in with ease with a door sized arch cut into one side. The test went by fairly quickly, as medical drones directed each of the recruits to the scanners. Once inside, they were directed to stand still, as the floor plate slowly rotated a full circle. Once that was finished they would exit the scanner & wait for the others to finish.
Once all the recruits had been scanned, they were led outside to a large circular track. From how far the far side of the track looked, it was likely a full kilometer around.
-instructor Recruits! give me three laps at your best speed.

After the whistle was blown, I started off slow to conserve my energy, but I ended up getting a good time. The running portion wasnt what was difficult, it was how long it was. I was so out of breath at the end, but at least I did good in track. My end time was 8 minutes and 30 seconds. I was one of the first people to finish the 3 laps. According to the instructor the entire thing was about 2 miles. So I did pretty good even though I was almost in last place.
Once I finished, I went and layed down right on the asphalt because I was so out of breath, but at least I finishes them.

Aldross nodded and bolted forward, running in-toe with another recruit for first place. He looked over at this recruit and found it to be another cybernetic-amputee, like himself, yet a full suit of light armor covered the recruit's face and body. He found himself briefly distracted by the mysterious appearance of this other recruit that matched his speed, yet shook it off by the end of the first lap and focused only on his speed. Aldross took a firm runner's pose as he dashed forward, just barely passing this other recruit by the beginning of the third lap and took off for first. He could hear his heart's pulse, yet it was surprisingly slower than he thought it should be. The burning sensation in his legs was replaced by a soothing calm that flowed through his muscles and almost carried him forward. By the end of the race, the recruit just beside Aldross moments earlier finished a whole two seconds after he finished, only to find that one other had already beaten them. He clenched his fists and breathed hard, letting his own excitement calm back down.
"Whew! Some race! What's next, boss?"
Aldross bounced lightly a few times to work out his adrenaline, yet found that it was much more simple once he took a deep breath. His whole body seemed far too relaxed to have accomplished that race - and that damned language he kept hearing over and over, it was becoming clear.
<<"Ni kyr'tayl gai sa'ad">> It was the echo that Aldross had heard before once he came close to the planet's surface, and now it had become clear, yet he couldn't place it's meaning...

With the basic fitness test completed, most of the recruits were shuffled off to various other parts of the installation. Most were finished with the testing now & would be shipping out shortly to their chosen jobs. For some it would be a fairly long trip, others wouldn't even leave the planet. Of the original 40 only half a dozen were remaining with the instructor for additional tests.
==Mu== The next stop for the remaining six recruits was a small arms range. Here they would be tested for accuracy on the main weapon system of the Clan. The M-CLAW, more fully known as the Modular Clan Assault Weapon, was a modular weapon that could be broken down & reassembled into a nearly endless variety given the right attachments. The ones here had been assembled into blaster rifle style weapons. Down range was a mixed holographic/shield projection targeting system. Once the recruits were all positioned, they were clear to begin firing. The range wasn't too bad. Four of the recruits only needed moderate scores, in the fifty to sixty percent range, as combat wasn't the main feature of their job choices. The last two however, were attempting to join Recon & would need a score in the eighty to ninety percent range.
==NJO== Nearly half of the recruits were loaded into one of the buses & shipped back to the spaceport. Once there, they were given a few hours to collect any personal belongings they wanted & spend a bit of time out in public before being shipped off. Each was assigned one of the small MER drones that would provide directions to anywhere in the city, as well as reminders when it was getting close to time to return. For those that would be going in areas or fields where personal belongings were limited, such as diplomatic staff or military personnel, The remainder of their personal belongings, even small spaceships could be placed in Clan storage facilities for extremely low rates. Otherwise the recruits were free to find other solutions. such as selling off the items or storing them with other companies. The recruits would end up returning at different times & to different Hubs as they were assigned to various passenger flights out to their new job postings.
Shyrkag found he had nearly six hours to waste before his flight was scheduled to take off.

Once it was time for Shyrkag to start heading toward the passenger liner, the little MER drone began to emit a high-pitched tone to wake him up. Before long he was on the passenger liner setting out toward his destination. It would take several days before it arrived. From there he would be apprenticed to a Diplomatic unit. The unit in question was mostly a training unit, used to give low rank diplomatic aides a fairly safe way to build up their skills without endangering anything. This particular unit would be rotating out toward Hutt space not long after his arrival there.

Aldross chose his shots carefully, holding his breath and staring down the sights. He squeezed the trigger and exhaled once he had a shot lined up. Given enough time, Aldross was an exceptional sharp-shooter, yet he did poorly with blasters at close range. His shots were calculated and precise, and he fired in half the amount of shots as his fellow recruits. As he held the M-CLAW, Adross felt a strange familiarity with the weapon - his accuracy was higher than usual with this particular weapon. Aldross was slower, yet much more accurate, and his skill showed with close-knit groupings centered straight down the center of mass on each target.
<<"Aliit, Aldross...">> Aldross flinched lightly as he heard a whisper go past his left ear. His gaze darted over to where he heard the whisper, yet saw only focused recruits - the fact that this presence he now felt knew his name frightened him, yet he had no time for fear. He shook off his brief scare and honed in once more on his targets, this time shooting at a growing pace, hitting with the same accuracy as before. His skills weren't 100% flawless, yet for a sharp-shooter, they were impressive. Aldross' true skill, however, rests solely with his talent in swordsmanship. He couldn't wait to display his melee skills, and eagerly awaited the next part of his tests.

Following the rifle test, the recruits were called over to a nearby table.
-Instructor All of you have now used the M-CLAW. Now you are going to learn how to break it down & change out parts.
Taking one of the spare weapons, the Instructor pointed out a series of recessed buckle clamps. Flipping each up, he proceeded to pull the entire barrel assembly off the weapon in one smooth move. Sticking from the previously hidden end of the weapon were a trio of short ratchet bars. The bars made sure the parts fit together snugly, while the clamps pulled them tight & locked them in place. A moment later & the stock of the weapon followed the barrel, then the power coil. Along with the now unattached rifle grip, the weapon had broken down into four parts.
-Instructor These are the basic parts of the M-CLAW system. The weapon assembly, the power coil, the grip assembly, & the stock. There are dozens of variants for each of those four options. You will notice that in front of each of you are three parts. You have a weapon assembly, a grip & a stock. You have to break down your M-CLAW to salvage the power coil from it & then reassemble it with the parts in front of you. Get started.
The weapon design was straight forward enough. It had been made so that even a ten year old could quickly break one down & rebuild it. It was also designed so that it could only go together in a certain pattern. The power core was the heart of the weapon & everything else clamped on to it. This meant that any part could be quickly changed out without having to remove any of the others. The pattern of ratchet bars was also different from one type of part to another. So while any two different designs for the grip would have the same pattern of bars, the stock & the weapon assembly had different patterns. This made it so you couldn't attach parts in the wrong slot.
The three parts were a pistol style grip, a flat stock that was little more than a cover for the ratchet bar slots, & a short slug thrower barrel, including the magazine.
