Bakura's terrain mostly comprised mountains, valleys, plains and small seas, all of which received a great deal of rain.

The Simic landed without further incident in a natural clearing in the dense lush forest several hundred kilometers away from Salis D'aar; Bakura's largest city. Xxoxia remained silent as she got up from the command throne and left the cockpit, leaving down the landing ramp without glancing back at the two droids as they went about tasks of prep and repair.
What had she done? Xia looked up into the crystal blue skies and wondered how long it would take Alex to repair his ship, and just how long she had to acquire her Master's treasure before a very real reprisal would be here? "I haven't much time..." Xia murmured to herself, bringing a small devise from her belt up to your face. "To the west then." She said softly as her head turned in the direction of the place marked on her locator by Jud'dayus. Xia's eyes widened. "Locator." She breathed thinking on Alex's nun-to-sly placement of such a devise on the Simic. She was about to head back, and destroy it, when she realized Carmine had the location as well.
Xxoxia growled, she'd forgotten and now she would be facing two enemies instead of possibly just the one. Her hands went idly to her sabers and she let out a sigh. Xia thumbed the devise in her hand and spoke into it. "As soon as you can, dust off and find another area to repair..." Xia nodded. "Make sure to disable Alex's tracking devise before you leave. I'll contact you when I have the object for our Master."
There was an acknowledgment chime from the other end of the comm-channel, and with a satisfied nod Xxoxia headed into the forest.

Xxoxia had made her way into the thick temperate jungle, using her sabers to clear the dense foliage and undergrowth as she continued along towards the ebbing blip that sounded from her comm-link attached to her right wrist. She was close, maybe only a couple meters away now as the comm became more frequent in his chirping.
With a swipe of her saber Xia hit something that wasn't plant matter. Instead she had just grazed the surface of some crumbling edifice. She stepped forward and started to hack more and more of the clinging vines and small fern-like plants from the ever expanding side of whatever it was. "By the Whills..." Xia finally said, craning her head up, finally realizing that the small foot hill in front of her was actually the overgrown and eroded remnants of some structure.
Xia looked down at her wrist and the pulsing image showed her that the megalithic stone in front of her was only one small peice of the kilometer by kilometer squared base to what her Master had sent her out to find, yet there was no opening to be seen on her wrist relay. "Seems I'll be searching for a door then?" Xia said with a huff of annoyance, before setting off down the side she had come upon, hacking the plant growth away meter by meter.

In the time that it had taken Te Prudii descend through the planet's atmosphere, Carmine had slowly made his way from the viewport back to the command deck's radar, where he was now looking over the Simic's projected flight trajectory. The Sith knew the young woman wasn't an idiot, most likely she had the ship drop her off somewhere and then had it move to another location. All the same, if he and Alex dealt with her ship, then regardless of whether or not she obtained the crystal before they got there, she would have to take the time to find another way back to Tatooine. This would give Alex and himself enough time to zero in on her location and take the coveted artifact for themselves. A sinister smile appeared on Carmine's face as he thought this over, the woman must've thought herself clever, but against Carmine, there was no competition.
"Alex, see if you can track down the Simic. If at all possible, blow it up......completely. I think it's safe to assume she's made her way to the crystal already, so let's buy ourselves some time. Besides, you could look at it as payback for what she did to the ship earlier."
Carmine continued to study the radar, his smile never fading.

Alex tapped the screen where the trajectory line of the Simic ended.
"Guess I'm three steps ahead of you. Main battery is charged and ready to fire. I'm gonna let you give the command. At least with that I can pin the destruction on the Old Man's ship on you. I ain't wantin' to get any blow-back from that one, understand?"
Alex moved over to the main control console and corrected Te Prudii's descent, heading towards the Simic's landing zone, laser cannons armed and hot.
"Now, when he finds out, I was unconscious after you knocked me out when I tried to stop you...got it?"

Meanwhile on the surface:
Xxoxia had been hacking through the dense undergrowth for what seemed to be like hours. She stopped momentarily to take a breath, wiping the sweat from her brow as she looked back at the path she had cut with her sabers. "This is taking forever." She murmured to herself as she searched the edifice of the overgrown Temple to see if she somehow missed the entrance.
She hadn't.
With pursed lips Xia turned back and started to hack more violently at the ferns and vines in her path. This whole quest had turned into complete shtocko. First; her Master had made sure that Carmine was along for the ride. Second; Carmine had changed the perimeters, by picking up his friend. Now, she was knee deep in a sweltering jungle, looking for a buried door, and had no doubts that two very angry men would be at her back any minute now.
"Everything's a test!" She shouted aloud, as her anger fueled her to hack at the foliage recklessly. "Everything's always a fugging test!"

Carmine grinned slightly at Alex's comment as he returned to the viewport.
"Of course."
No sooner than he finished speaking, Te Prudii began nearing the Simic, slowing down as it grew closer. Carmine knew that when they finished here they would need to hurry in making their way to the artifact's location, he didn't want to give Xxoxia anymore time to find an alternate means of travel off world. The slender man rubbed his chin for a moment as he thought about this before walking over to the ship's targeting computer. The Te Prudii had just stopped and was within firing range of the Simic. Carmine's smile returned as he began to speak.
"Target the Simic and fire with full force!"
Not but a moment later Te Prudii opened fire on the small shuttle, the amount of fire power used would surely spell the end for Jud'dayus' beloved method of transport.

The rain had started out lightly, pitter-pattering off the canopy above in an ever increasing staccato of cool droplets. Xxoxia turned her head towards the sky, closing her eyes and allowing the rain to hit her face. Living on Tatooine for the past seventeen years of her life didn't allot her the chance for the soothing sensation of rain. Xia's mind wandered back to Dathomir, the planet of her youth. Where the rains were said to have the powers to revive and heal.
As the drops fell on her, she wondered if this planet's rain was similarly blessed? "Blessed..." She said softly, her lips parting only enough to mouth the word, as the rain beaded and ran down the contours of her face. If there was any time that she needed to have some blessing from on high; it was now. "Master... Whills. Guide me." Xia whispered to the sky, tightening her features into complete concentration. Focusing her mind on the Force - like her Master had taught her - trying to project herself through time and space...
The Sky answered her with a resounding clap of thunder and an arching flash of lightening, before the rain turned into a torrential down pour. Xia was unphased as the rain beat a rapid tattoo on her face. Its rhythmic cadence helping her continue concentrating on the Force. "Father..." Xia voice echoed in her head, as she concentrated more and more. The outside world starting to fade, becoming white noise to the mantra of calm she was resiting internally. "Father, guild m- ..."
Xxoxia's thoughts were cut short as she felt herself move. She opened her eyes and witnessed that the rain was actually coming down the eroded side of the Temple. The moss and dead plant-matter at her feet was sloshing away for the crumbling stone work rapidly. Without a second thought Xia Force leapt from the spot she had just stood, and watched in awe as the entire side of the temple gave way in a monstrous avalanche of stone and foliage. She landed like a nexus; softly and perfectly on her nimble feet several meters away from the now shear drop off, due to the Temple collapse.
Through the rain haze Xia could see into the recesses created in the Temple, and a devilish grin crossed her rain smeared face.

Two droids within the Simic had tracked the Te Prudii, and now were holding steady several kilometers away from where they had dropped off Mistress Xxoxia. At first it remained stationary, but as the droids realized the Te Prudii was accelerating towards their position, but it was too late.
The Simic tried to lift away as the closing cruiser's batteries lanced out at the shuttle craft with extreme prejudice. The Simic was wracked with concussive jolts and lit up in a blossoming haze of green impacts, turning the once proud shuttle into fiery wreckage.
The Simic flew, as if trying to show it wouldn't give in, but it was only momentarily. Like a wounded and dying bird, it went only slightly further before gravity took hold, bringing the Legendary craft to it's premature grave.

It was past midnight and the first day of the new year when my shuttle landed in a shuttle bay. it seemed that I could sleep and my contact would come and get me. and so i spent the first day after i rose watching certain sporting events and trying not to barf at the fact that the company that owned two channels, chose to make its stance so undeniably clear. Granted, in my own way i didn’t agree 100% with either of the points made… but what outraged me was to see one side shunned and another openly allowed… it was mind boggling.
It wasn’t until nightfall that i realized that i would have to get off of my lazy butt and climb the hill myself. However, upon opening the bay doors even a crack i found a snow storm nearly making the chamber unbearably cold. i retreated within my shuttle and determined that i would attempt the trek up the south face if the storm had settled. and so there was dusk, and there was dawn on the first day of the year.
on the second i awoke relatively earlier, with no equipment to ascend aerially, the trek would be made by rock face. The free climbing seemed a tad dangerous, with only two pins to hold me if i slipped. However unlike my writer, i dared to push on toward the summit. stopping to rest only momentarily for rehydration and refueling. it was nearly midnight when i reached the summit.
“you know… had you waited any longer i might have thought you were not close to who you said you were”
the first quip that i heard from Tessai as i connected myself into the link he had set in the ground near a tent.
“you missed a large show of fireworks only with lightning.”
i smiled as the man brought out a small bottle of bubbly, knowing myself i nearly refused, but Tessai’s words put me at ease.
“don’t worry… this is a special drink, yes on the street it would be a finely aged Namana Liqueur, but there are people that know how to make the drink that reduces out the alcoholic content so it is safe for consummation by people with abused livers, or in cases who cannot stand a drop of alcohol all together”
i glanced across the valley to the temple and i smiled, for the last time in that conversation.
“The monastery looks nice from here, i can’t wait for the tour.”
“Actually, you will need to there was a terroristic attempt on the temple just before the new year. the only conclusion that President Oswald and Mentor Torin could put together was someone not wanting you to become a guest or even a practicing member of the monastery. The white guard has been instructed to use force to prevent you from reaching the temple…”
“But why? You can run scans every which way on me… i am the person of whom i claim to be”
“precisely your highness, and that is why you are not to be allowed in. Forgive me. i was one of the last guards to be handpicked by King Pala before the schism… they do not fear you bringing danger to the temple… but rather they worry of danger for your person.”
“so they are sending me away into the open, for my own protection.”
“It is mostly those in Salis D'aar who do not want you at the temple. Torin, in his wisdom has deemed it essential that you are equipped with three gifts.”
Tessai went into great detail about the three gifts. the first was an early amulet of finding. the powers it possessed where studied and used to imbue a compass made to look like the amulet to lead me, not only where i want to go, but wherever i “needed” to go.
The second gift was what looked like an antique Sonic multitool. but, as it was explained to me was rather a beacon transmitter. members of the Blue and white guards were set to follow the background signal of the device keeping a observational distance unless i needed emergency help. in which case i was to press the button and the nearest guardsman would be at my side as quickly as possible. i hoped i never would have to use that.
The final gift was something referred to as a “glide pack” the device ran on wind power, and for the most part when used correctly was nearly perpetual in its efforts to be self sustaining. unfortunately, it seemed that the only purpose it had was as an escape from high locations.
I thanked tessai for the gifts as he directed me to a tent he had set up for me to sleep the night in before i began my journey. but as i popped my head out to wonder where tessai would sleep, my guardian vanished. leaving behind a map chip from my wrist comp… and rations for tomorrow… or later today as the Chrono indicated it was past midnight. and so, i popped back into the tent and shut my eyes officially ending my second day of the new year.

As the light of the third day when I rose again, i found that all of the equipment was neatly packed into a bag that i could connect to the glider including several days worth of food. Checking the bearings, the compass said that i should travel just shy of west. the Wings give me some bit of resistance as i am yet un familiar with the controls, but by using the wind to my advantage the flight is not altogether disappointing.
“Safely on the ground… best stow my gear.”
Folding up my wing pack became easier than thought. the wing segments were designed to fan in and out, and then retract once fully folded up. and because of the materials used to make the pack, the weight added was not all that significant. and so dusk came, and the third day ended.
—
On the fourth day, was largely uneventful...
Save for one event, the HUD that my bionic Eye allowed me started to show low battery reports on certain of the electronics that were in me at the moment. for the moment it was merely minor auxiliary storage chips implanted within the brain. If they went down in one crash, there wouldn’t be too much Drama, but this indicated that it would be time to undergo surgery to replace the power sources for the devices. and i didn’t know too many locations that could do the job as well as the RDMC…maybe i installed the tech myself… but at the moment i didn’t have the tools to repair my own tech.
Feeling lazy, i moved myself toward the shelter of a cave, and i rested as Dusk came and the fourth day ended.
—
On the fifth day, i largely rested.
walking outside the shelter i had found, I spied a town that was a couple days journey from me… however, it dawned on me that i did not choose this path because i crashed… but so i could be enlightened. So, assuming a small lotus position, I spent the day in meditation, and devoted to myself that on every seventh day, i would meditate instead of journey or what else was required of me by the outside world.
and so dusk came, and the fifth day ended.

It was, the 7th day of the new year, and the second day of the week. Realizing that i had slept through the first without so much as a passing care, i haphazardly brush off any thought of wrong doing by stating the fact i despise these first days of the week, for nothing more than having to start up and be “productive” after a day spent for working for myself, is bound to be stressful, but this was the role that i didn’t so much choose for myself, as was thrust upon me when i could not currently reside within the jedi Monastery as i needed to.
Eating a small portion of the remaining rations i noted to myself that i would need to Make my way toward a town soon, or the supplies given to me would not last much longer. but first thing was first, clearing my way out of the cavern and finding a town.
But the odd thing occurred as I burrowed my way out. I saw a small Green Dinosaur standing out side… perhaps eager for my escape from the cavern.
“Yes, may i help you?”
The sound i was greeted with was little more than a young creature trying to intimidate with a roar, only to have a cute squeak come out instead.
“I don’t presume that for some reason you are here to guide me to this eastern Location”
More tiny dino gibberish, I feared that if this continued i would be either in need of that surgery to recharge my neuro-storage boards… or i would need a Chibi-basic translator.
Traveling throughout the day I noticed that the village that i had seen previously was not the one this little droid seemed to want me to travel to. So through the night i was following the little creature.
until at one point I spotted a mountain, i was running to catch up with the tiny droid when i noticed that i was far more tired than i previously thought and tumbled toward sleep mere steps from secret entrance to the base… the last thing i remember hearing was
“There you are Dragoll… you had me worried.”

‘ this ground is soft’ The first words my conscious mind could string together when I finally came to. granted, it took my brain a few moments to register that a) I wasn’t outside, stumbling into sleep… and in an actually bed. assembling those two facts in a manner befitting a jedi master… I did the only logical thing possible
I tensed up as if a cramp seized every muscle in my body, and let out a scream as I bolted to an upright position.
When my little episode was completed, I threw on my robes, noting that a wash date was shortly in order, and walked down the stairs to find that the kind people that had offered me refuge was some sort of general store. or rather, something more defined in it’s departments while still being small enough on the outside. with an embarrassed grin on my face I approached the owner.
“ Hello and good morning… I was wondering when you would get up.” “ you… know me?” “ i should say not. I saw your form as the knights brought you inside.” “ Ah, thanks for that… what’s the damage?” “ your first night was paid for. However, if you are looking to stay longer term, you may need to show me some coin of the realm” “ I don’t have anything other than some frozen credits. would you accept if I worked till I paid you off for letting me sleep here, and have enough to buy minor rations to last me to my next destination?” the agreement was readily agreed to. I would work jobs in the shop and throughout the town in order to pay off the debt I incurred as a guest in the town. and for the day I was free. so roaming around I found a small cyber café that featured the certain connection I desired to be able to reach holonet. plugging in a small drive that mirror in appearance keys from the secret base on carida, I accessed Starnet.Selecting frequencies that would Ping the latter three, I prepped a message regarding issues that I held close to my heartDisconnecting the drive from the computer, I headed over to the local tavern to begin my odd jobs.

And in a blur, the first several days of my “residence” had passed. I can remember the jobs mostly because i had 5 tasks assigned to me each day that i “had” to complete to maintain my free rent status. The tasks were mostly busy work, Deliver milk to a district within the village, referee the children’s matches with their toy creatures, at night serve a shift behind the bar mixing drinks. (the force allowed me a bit of extravagant showmanship in that act). and so, as the 7th day closed i was a popular man.
On the first day of the new week, I considered taking the day off. but curiosity got the better of me, and by sunrise i found myself in a pew in the local church. The theology taught was not completely foreign to me, in fact it was quite similar to how I had read the story of savior of the force.
I began to think over the issue between services when i was approached by the minister, and i was asked to help provide activities for the little children since the late service at the request of the Mayor, and i noticed that one of the little girls insisted on being as close to me as possible looking back on it I would remark the situation as a little crush.
Around high noon i finally was able to free myself of the church i noticed a small boy was crying because someone had smashed the battery that came with his little toy dino. I looked at the shards of the broken piece and gasped as i began to see them as a technology as my own. pushing it to the back of my mind i spent the afternoon trying to find a store that carried the toys so that i could replace it. the boy was very grateful for me to go out of my way just to help him and his Green t-rex
But things changed on the first day of the new week.
immediately after getting the ‘rations’ that were part of my B&B accommodations, i was ushered by the town sheriff to the mayor’s office where he explained he had received a summons requesting that i be turned over to the Government at Salis D'aar.
“the Reasons are not given… but i cannot believe they are sane”
“With all due respect your honor, when i arrived i was greeted with assurance that if i needed assistance that the people that defend the politicians and the dignitaries that visit would provide aid. You have told me that the seal that closed the envelope was their’s, I will dutifully go.”
“is there anything that i can do to convince you to stay”
Although i could not give a reason why staying presented me a better option, i ended up staying additional days on a project to create an advanced Data core for the dino toy, giving it to the boy with the green T-rex. i explained that the battery would store data and allow the toy to grow and perhaps gain sentience…
that night i slept one last time on the soft mattress. I checked out of the location early in the morning, found my way outside of the town walls, and pointed the sonic beacon skyward. it was not 30 mins later that a squad of Guardsmen arrived to transport me to those that wanted me
and so my journey to understand myself to a brief hold while i found out what was required of me at Salis D'aar.

Bakura, planetside.
Within the confines of the portside bridge of the Warrior-class gunship, Emerson Niamura casts his gaze like a fine net out towards the fore hull and the planet's surface they approach, but to little avail. Thick raindrops spatter all over the transparisteel, obscuring his line of sight. Passage through the atmosphere is only safely possible by reliance on sensors, and even the ship's appreciably powerful relays for one of its size are somewhat compromised by the prevalent electrical interference from the natural phenomenon all too common to Bakura: its thunderstorms. The failure of sight does not discourage him; instead, he permits himself to drift away in the random patterns created by the array of precipitation as it cascades all around them. The bridge, you see, has a distinction from many other ships in that it extends out into a sheath-like covering of self-sustained transparisteel; it offers 180 degrees line of sight from left to right, uninterrupted. If you have never been underneath a glass ceiling while water poured on it, then you cannot quite understand what it looks like to have water deposited by the sky be transported in random fashion by the velocity of the ship as it cuts its way through the downpour, following an invisible path to Salis D'aar. If you have, and remain unimpressed, then we can simply conclude that you are a different person from Niamura and leave things at that.
But he does not drift too far, and comes gradually back to reality. Turning around, he immediately encounters the second-in-command, Victor Thalm, who made his way to the bridge in Niamura's shadow. Although he'd never admit it out loud, Emerson had the distinct feeling that Victor was doing his best to psych him out and generally creep up on him whenever his back is turned. He vaguely wondered why that might be.

::Jettisoning nacelle, wings collapse to glider mode, begin descent.::
A new year, and here I was returning to Bakura. although this year would not see me attempt to settle the Jedi temple in a forgotten northern mountain range. This year I came with a specific purpose: to find the recorded archives of the droid Huyang. If I could find the droid and the back up it possesses, I would be one step closer to accomplishing a masterwork that would give me praise for the re-creation of a new weapon.
It was late last year as I was contemplating my own state of affairs as a Head master who was ineffectual due to my desire for travel that I stumbled upon a lore that intrigued me.
What intrigued me about this saber was not just its complicated life, but in addition to the Ambiguity of the saber’s history, it was also important to consider the lack of actual knowledge and craftsmanship in creating a blade that followed the same mechanics as it. The reports of any that were able to observe the saber without dying on it was the singular concept that the power of the blade naturally overpowered any lightsaber that came in contact with it. reports of ‘Darksaber’s involve a blade only as strong as a run of the mill Lightfoil.
So that brought me to Bakura, to a hidden Jedi repository very few jedi knew about. It was in this base that the Order kept tools they would need to keep safe in a contingency such as Order 66. It was rumored that the Crucible, and Huyang would be found here.
As I approached sensor range of the Mountain fortress, I transmitted the Authorisation code given to me by the Jedi high council when I requested permission to undertake this lofty goal. the code would disable the drones that made pilots believe the range was “Haunted” allowing my access into the fortress… but it would also leave the defenses down for a time allowing any sneaking in behind me… and since I dropped my Nacelles in orbit to switch from speed to a low impact stealth… I was not 100% that I was alone in the airspace.

He was right, he was not alone in the space above the planet. The new Emperor was not kidding when he said that there was going to be a lot of missions after the Knights swore fealty to the Empire. Due to his actions Panno had been given the bottom of the barrel of these. It seems the Imperial Security Agency was more active than it ever had before, and it tracked not only Republic movements but the movements of millions of others threats to the Empire. One of those threats had been Diamonte Tuhlute.
Although he was officially here to monitor his business, unofficially he was here for another reason. He was to find something of use for the Empire, something as penitence for his acts. Word in the street had it that there was a Jedi repository on the planet, similar to Ossuss before it was sacked thousands of years prior. Of course there was no one to prove this true besides the few Jedi and outsiders who knew about it, and they wouldnt talk. His T4 Lambda shuttle got a ping on its scopes, out at the very end of its sensor range. Assuming that it was Monte he followed it, he was to far out for IFF proof but the firection he was travelling indicated the right direction.
Secretly he wanted this to fail. There were a many great things hidden from the public view by the Jedi for good reason. Stuff that only force users should know, stuff that could rock the foundations of the Universe and so on. Even if he found it, he would not let them know of his success instead he would stay here and use this repository to find something he could use himself. Something to better his knowledge of smithing and creating things.

“Sir, there is a ship persisting on the edge of full range scan.”
I figured as much. though i was not aware of who was trying to tail me, I figured someone would make an attempt… just seemed like a logical idea. The council thought so too and i was assigned a small squad of elite troopers to keep me safe as well as to monitor my behavior to ensure i acted in accordance to my request and took with me only the data relevant to my Darksaber project.
“They are persistent enough to be following us. I noticed them as we dislodged the Nacelles. and judging by distance, they will be able to use the delay in system to enter the range without triggering the defenses. can we go shadow mode… wait no never mind. all troops arm up… prepare for hostiles when we touch down.”
turning the ship towards the nearby cavern, i slowed speed and entered the cavern which was a maze unto itself to enter. at the distance the tailing ship was traveling, my ship would disappear from radar before they could figure out where my ship had gone

Of all the Imperial Knights it could be said that Panno was the worst pilot, which is saying something because he can still fly it. When he lost Montes ping on the radar he panicked. Minutes after Monte had entered the cavern Panno began Flipping the few switches he knew, and still nothing came out he typed in the course the ship was flying and turned on auto pilot. The ship sped up a little bit, not noticeably from the inside but enough to get him there. If he could have followed Diamonte then it was safe to say someone else could have escaped both their knowing.
Slipping his armour over his body suit Panno tightened the straps and buttoned up. Checking his energy shield on his right wrist, he grabbed a couple extra energy packs and put them in his belt. He could feel the force telling him something was wrong. Something that would lead to a fight if he wasnt careful. Mag locking his lightsaber onto his chest he sat back down in the chair just as he was getting to the cavern.
Looking for signs of wreckage it was an unassuming place and so Panno carried on this course before turning around. It was obvious he had lost his prey, so like any tracker he set out looking for signs. Really hard when your prey was a flying machine, but there may still be some clue. Maybe some extra ionized air particles from the engines. Starting in a small circle the Imperial Knight began to spiral outward, still a good 3 kms from the cavern entrance.

As the troops unloaded supplies I needed, I was hesitant… not entirely sure that whatever was following us was still trying to track this expedition down, or if I was truly going crazy. Before too long the Captain of the squad came to offer me a little water and asked to send a few troops to the surface to investigate. I declined the request because it would have left a tangible trail to the entrance if the unit was hostile, and we had no idea who the unit was either way. So instead I ordered all the troops back into the Shuttle, and knelt down.
Over the past year since I was last able to travel freely across the stars, I needed a … hobby to keep my mind trained and sane. my choice was to hone and learn my skills in the force to the best of my ability. I attempted to learn skills that would allow me to fulfill rolls in craftsman, diplomat, and shadow proficiencies. and the skill I would need right now would be sensory based. I knew that if I opened myself in the force I could in essence lead the unit to me, however I hoped that instead I could listen and attempt to find out where he was…(assuming he was on the ground).
as I knelt down, I pushed my left and right hand against the cavern floor. with my right hand I knocked four times and used my left to sense the waves as they departed in all directions. Then I magnified my senses and reached out for the minute seismic activity of a unit’s footfalls.
fortunately for me he was on foot at the moment I listed for some time to gain an sample of what direction he was traveling in. when I had the terrain mapped and modeled in the technologically enhanced portions of my brain, I called the squad to me and used my new Cybernetic arm to run briefing. The unit was close enough to the entrance that he could be sensed and running a spiral pattern. (though the squad members chuckled at spiraling even on shallower slopes of hilly terrain.) I calculated time of arrival between 3 and 5 hrs and instructed the troops to prepare a cushion in case the unit was not expecting the extensive vertical entrance before setting a “Welcome wagon” line when he arrived down to determine whether he was friend or foe… and what his intentions were.
