Hello, I'm Dante - most of you know me as the guy that changes my name every day. I've been doing it for years, so, you know, sue me. ^_^ Just kidding. Anyway, as many of you know I fancy myself a wanderer, something of a dark jedi, who wanders the boards and RP's on random planets trying to bring RP to them. A kind of rehabilitator I guess. Anyway, Dante himself has been a dark jedi for quite literally, many many years, and it's only been this past year that I've Rped him as heading to the light. Well, I've decided to settle down in the expanse as a Jedi hermit - on Vandelhelm specifically, as it seems to be the planet I inevitably come back to eventually - and try and spark some RP.
Basically, I'm a gray/light side hermit inhabiting a M-ETT sand crawler (Czerka style, baby) in the wastes of Vandelhelm. The political situation is such that a mining company is aggressively taking over the planet for its resources - the company, too large to be policed by any powers that be, and having a *legal* right to be there, basically act like Czerka did in KOTOR: corrupt, greedy, borderline evil...though there's never any evidence. The planet relies on me, a neutral entity, to investigate (I'm a jedi investigator/peace keeper by trade) issues and disputes regarding this company.
So basically, what I'm looking for, is just if anyone wants to help bring RP to this planet in the form of a team: you can control this evil company, the government, train with me as an apprentice, have ME train under you, cause chaos, bring peace, do whatever. I just want there to be RP. I'd especially love to bring together some lightsiders and grays together to try and combat / police this corporate entity - that's the main idea for the prevailing SL at the moment anyway. Going for a "Czerka on Tatooine via KOTOR" feel if you will. Though other ideas, thoughts, or entities are welcomed.
So. Lets see if the proverbial fish are biting shall we?

Dante, you're awesome and I'd love to write with you in the aforementioned SL. Not sure that I have a character that could write their long term but it could happen, if you want me?

Now that you mention it, I just got my hands on a new and shiny canon mining company, and it wouldnt hurt to mix fun with usefull.
So... I could come and be your evil company exploiting the riches of wanderheilm.

Christ, finally. I've been looking for a chance to do some actual Jedi work for ages. Investigating a corrupt company is right up Miras' alley, and he wouldn't turn down some free training either. Look over my profile, sparse as it might be, and let me know if you think he'd be a good fit for your SL.

Well, if you're there short term, I know we could definitely use you for some old fashioned piracy RP of freighters out in space. That could create tensions on part of the corporation to mine the planet harder in order to recoup their losses: thus increasing tensions and such. A more permanent char could do just about anything...though I seem to remember you bend to the dark side and such? We can figure something out I'm sure.
Atia - never RPed with you, but I've seen you to be active, and I've heard good things RP wise about Juvex imports (I believe thats how you spell it). You're more than welcome to head up the evil corporation gig. Corporations exploiting rich mineral / aggri worlds is what the expanse is canonically known for. Would you mind heading up a space piracy sub SL with BP? My goal is to get every thread on Vandelhelm RPed on - the space aspect has been bothering me somewhat. THis is in addition tot he RP we carry out on the ground.
Miras - TOTALLY what I'm looking for. The Watchmen / Peacekeeper / Investigator roles are exactly the type of Jedi I'm looking for, and someone of your experience level IC wise is awesome as well. Are you a Centaris character? I seem to recall you being one. And would you be looking to be a padawan under me? I wouldn't mind training up someone to Knight level. It would make for some prolonged RP.

Ah yes, and this is Devlin - another one of our (What looks to be like?) team. He expressed interest via PM rather than the boards.
Wellll, looking to start this rather soon. Just kinda ironing out who's doing what and what not. Once thats figured out, then I guess we can fire when ready, to use a SW colloquialism. Right now it looks like this:
(Corporation) Atia and Devlin: Atia will RP the big bad corporation, Devlin will work as (probably) primary enforcer or Chief of Security for that corporation.
(Jedi) Dante and Miras: Will work the Jedi side of things, With a possible knight/padawan gig running on.
(Third parties) Bloodrage: working the piracy/harassing the corporation angle, which could lead to harsher conditions on the planet.
If everyones ok with that, we can start when ready.

Actually, my main character is Ishmael. I think I've written with you before, actually- a fencing match on 1.5? I also wrote briefly on Vandelhelm as Malystrix. To answer your other question, you taking Miras as your padawan suits me perfectly.

BP harrasing the Juvex Import Export doughter company? He would never dare! His captain wouldnt get his own rum brand!  HOw about I start up my privatisation of Wanderheim, recruiting some local talent (Devlin) and get some pirates to "re-localise" some locals from the more interesting mining areas? |

Hi. I'm sort of new here. Or rather, I'm one champion lurker.
I'm intrigued by the storyline you guys have going. Just thought I'd ask more about it.
I'm not sure if my character will be all that useful though, so maybe I should audition first.
I'm an ex-Jedi, and moderately-skilled in the Force at best. My character concept is inspired by Zayne Carrick from the Knights Of The Old Republic series. So I'm literally living proof that the Force has a sense of humor. That said, I'm a walking disaster. Manipulating probability without thinking or trying, and just tending to make things go against me and against everyone...okay maybe that's overly dramatic. I should just say I'm clumsy, and my powers have a habit of backfiring when I try to use them, and the less said about my lightsaber the better.
I'm a lousy fighter, and I can't hit the side of a barn door with my blaster at five feet. I'm more than likely to shoot everything else up though.
So I'm a professional and legal transporter for goods and people. Legal, I have no contacts with smugglers nor am I one. Probably because I lack any tact, guile or sense for subterfuge, and I know a lot less than I think I do.
Okay, this is not much of a good resumé, boy I sure hope I'm not applying for the pros, or I'm so out.
Anyways, I have a ship, it's comfy and nice, it's kinda my home away from home...oh wait, I don't have a home, so yeah, it's my only home.
Think you'd have a use for me?
Really looking around to start RPing. I kinda started out with a friend, but he left me in a lurch, and now I'm just free-floating in Lurkspace.
You could look in my profile for an even more detailed story of my character. Sorry, but I hadn't meant for it to become so long. I actually just started writing it out today, and couldn't stop. Next thing you know, I have a wall of text in my biography. So maybe I should ask people if it'd be better if I shortened it?

How much would it cost? xD Let's assume that Devlin has some money saved away, because I've been writing him since 1.5, and he's done some robbery and hits on his own and when he had a team. He didn't get paid by anyone, but he took anything valuable he could find to offset the cost of the Op. Also as a corporate enforcer I'm again assuming the pay would be nice. More than enough to pay a unlucky goods transporter for some rare cigars. Can't be big and bad and not be surrounded by smoke while shooting a rifle into a crowd. I'm thinking maybe Mirian turns Devlin over to Dante's side eventually? Makes him see all the bad Nan is doing as the company and turncoat on them. Nothing like an innocent's view to turn an inherently good bad guy good again. Not right off, but slowly. I want to enjoy being bad for once. > |
