KEY FACTS
YAVIN STATION: Partially disabled. EMP damage renders some areas without life support, others without artificial gravity. Doors malfunction, and the great doors that seal the Hangar flight corridors are off line.
The computer lockout has locked out access to confidential information, Jedi comm encryptions, shields, and weapons. Internal security controls are also partially locked out, and the station's sensor array is only partially accessible thanks to a combination of both the encryption and EMP damage.
OPEN ORBIT: The immediate orbit of the moon above the region the Praxeum is in, anywhere that could be considered line of sight on the Praxeum region, is still under the targeting bracket of the V-150 Ion Cannons. The Mandalorian forces therefore are keeping their larger ships out of effective weapons range.
The Mandalorians have blockaded the moon using a substantial fleet, fighters, and interdiction mines that force any incoming or outgoing ships to drop out of hyperspace some distance from the moon. This ensures anyone going to or from Yavin IV will be forced to deal with the Mandalorian blockade.
YAVIN IV TERRAIN: For a region of approximately thirteen kilometres around the Jedi Praxeum, the coverage of the Praxeum defence shield prevents direct passage. Much the same as the shield protecting Echo Base on Hoth, this shield is strong enough to withstand any bombardment. The only way to approach the Praxeum is by flying to the edge of the shield cover, and skimming the tree tops under the edge of the shield. The shield also offers protection to the Temple of Exar Kun, the V-150 Ion Cannons, and its own hidden generator.
The Mandalorians have set up a forward command base at the Temple of the Blueleaf Cluster. This base is just past the edge of the shield bubble.
The terrain of Yavin IV consists of thick rainforest, and an extensively craggy and hilly forest floor, with a moderately deep and fast river separating the Blueleaf Temple from the Praxeum. The wildlife is dangerous, the paths barely more than beaten foot paths trampled through the underbrush. Various small pieces of ruins, both above ground and below it in tunnels, offer up some interruption to the vegetation, in various locations.
The terrain is incredibly difficult to traverse, and anyone not a resident of the moon - almost all of the Mandalorian Forces and any non-Yavin based Jedi ones - will find navigating it incredibly difficult, and the wildlife a real risk. The Yavin residents are less limited due to their personal familiarity with the terrain and fauna. All land vehicles are limited in their movements due to the rainforest and uneven terrain.
IC OBJECTIVES
MANDALORIAN PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Locate and disable the Shield Generator OR Disable the Ion Cannons OR successfully destroy/seize the Praxeum
MANDALORIAN SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: Disable the anti-aircraft platforms, prevent or destroy Jedi supplies, regain full control of Yavin Station.
YAVIN JEDI PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Prevent shield generator, Ion Cannon, and Praxeum destruction. Find or create supply routes.
YAVIN JEDI SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: Gain intel to aid in ending the blockade, rescue hostages and prisoners of war held on Yavin Station, harass Mandalorian forces to keep them focused on Yavin, destroy the Mandalorian base at the Temple of the Blueleaf Cluster, capture or kill Mand'alor Ashrah Intalbo.
OOC NOTES
All blockade running attempts must be written out fully and in collaboration with the Mandalorian forces. The mines will force any ship out of Hyperspace some distance from the moon, unless there are equipped with legitimately acquired HMIS systems. People will get through the blockade, but they have to be smart about it. If the attempt isn't up to scratch, the attempt will fail and ships will be at real risk of capture by the Mandalorians.
The IC objectives each have OOC caveats;
MANDALORIAN PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: The Mandalorians may succeed in disabling one of the two Ion Cannons as a major plot point. The shield generator will remain active, although it may be discovered and assaulted/damaged toward the end of the siege. The Praxeum will be damaged numerous times, and occasionally Mandalorians will make it inside, only to be driven out or defeated.
MANDALORIAN SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: Many of the anti-aircraft platforms may end up disabled or destroyed over the course of the siege. Some attempts to resupply the Praxeum will fail, and some supplies successfully delivered will be subsequently destroyed. Yavin Station's encryption is unbreachable without acquiring the ability to do so from Dav himself - the Mandalorians will have to discover that he is the only one with full knowledge of all the necessary encryptions. Diamonte will know some, but only the full set will be of any use. The encryption will only be unlocked during the breaking of the siege, if at all.
YAVIN JEDI PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: The Jedi will see success in their primary objectives as outlined above.
YAVIN JEDI SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: The Jedi will gradually gain some intel to aid in ending the blockade. The rescue of hostages and prisoners of war held on Yavin Station will be left to RP during the course of the siege and is yet to be determined. Mandalorian forces will be subject to Guerrilla tactics and hit-and-fade attacks throughout the siege, although any success in disabling the Blueleaf base will not come until the last days of the siege. Mand'alor Ashrah Intalbo will escape Jedi efforts.
The Massassi Arena is off limits for now within the siege RP, as it is being used for another major storyline set before the Mandalorian Attack. This may be subject to change, should the storyline conclude before the siege does.
The Jedi will have some level of Holonet access to start with during the siege. An objective that will develop for the Mandalorians after a few days will be realising this and attempting to neutralise the transmitter, something which they will succeed at, cutting the Jedi off.
OPENING THE RP
The siege RP opening will see the Mandalorians needing to secure both their ground base and Yavin Station, as well as lay the interdiction minefield. There will also be a need to catalogue the prisoners captured on Yavin Station, and call in additional forces to strengthen the blockade. The base being set up within the Blueleaf Temple will have to compete with dangerous insectoid Klikniks, which are a vicious indigenous species that have made nests within and under the temple.
The Jedi will need to repair damage done to the Praxeum, and to start fortifying against the long siege. Patching up the wounded and cataloguing the resources available to them will also be important.
