Nicademus calmly browsed the tables some more, taking note of which organizations to donate and, perhaps, even seek to be a patron of. The Empire had to seem changed and rejuvenated with its new ruler; the Imperial Knights were to be the face of the Empire while the Sith went back to lurking among ranks of his nation. While Nicademus had good intentions in his heart for the galaxy, he still had to utilize a large variety for the greater good of the Empire. Including the Sith and their methods.
His eyes did not even glance in the direction of the Twi'lek's voice when she spoke. His mind pre-occupied with other thoughts. After a few moments of silence and the dissipation of his thoughts temporarily, the Imperial turned to look upon the one who had approached him. The first thing he showed was a smile to the Twi'lek.'Your Excellency.' No one has called me that since I was Head of State for the Imperial Remnant. It always had a nice ring to it.A laugh emitted from his mouth at the end of the sentence. The Emperor would then sip the drink in his hand before moving to approach the Twi'lek. He gives a slight and polite bow to the woman who addressed him before speaking further. And who do I have the pleasure of addressing, Miss...?

Anya stayed a bit behind Nicademus alongside the other Knight that had come with them. She was glad for this for it gave her someone to look to when dealing as the Emperor's guard. It was her first assignment and she didn't want to fail him.
As he progressed through the crowd and mingled with others, she kept her senses sharp and eyes moving every once and awhile to take in her surroundings. She remained quiet as she did so. This was a place for the Emperor to be seen and mingle. And it was her duty to be ready to defend him when needed.

I trust your journey in was without incident? Not a single incident. When you have cautious councilors and a disciplined security, people tend to keep their distance. The Emperor would finish his drink and set it upon a passing tray before turning his eyes once more to the Senator.Acting Senator of Ryloth you say? I suspect that means that Senator Crom'nen is no longer in sitting upon the esteemed chair of Senator then? A shame if that is the case.Nicademus as well as the whole of the Empire knew of Crom'nen, thanks to HoloNews showing the session of Senate where the Twi'lek had admitted his role in the vicious Mandalorian Crusade and attack upon the Empire, more specifically Kuat. A little mouse back home had confirmed his suspicions and given him valuable information. Indeed, the Emperor was curious about the dealings of the Senate, but would only scratch the surface and attempt not to irritate the skin too much. If irritated, there would be a reaction and that was something that the Imperial did not want.

Bel'fima tilted her head to the side for a moment, shifting the colors in her headwrapping from gold to silver as the light angled off of it, then returned to normal.
Then Senator took a leave of absence during the Mandalorian War. While out that far, he returned to Ryloth, and was there when Lessu fell. His return has been... contentious, so he has elected not to resume the position as of yet. In the mean time, he has been active lobbying for the reconstruction and remilitarization effort, as well as other... endeavors. As his second in command, I have been acting Senator for the last sixth months or so.
She smiled gently and warmly. Yes, she knew of the endeavors. The Emperor would know of one as well. What he chose to do with that, she had little control over, except for acting with the same beauty, grace, and charm that disarmed many a male, even back to her days as a slave.

Nicademus keeps his hand behind his back as Bel'fima answers the Emperor's question. Crom'nen was dedicated to his people; given the information from two different sources. Dedicated to their freedom, liberties and stability. The Emperor sighs deeply and bows his head slightly.
Please convey my condolences to Crom'nen, Miss Bel'fima. It must have been hard to see his planet fall to such savagery and undeserving destruction. Such a tragedy is on par with the Mandalorian massacre of Cathar species and the desolation of Serroco during the First Mandalorian Wars under the command of Mand'alor the Ultimate. The Empire will be willing to give what it can to support the Twi'lek people in this time of need.
The Emperor slowly lifts his head after speaking. To think that the Twi'leks endured a hardship greater than the Mandalorian assault on Kuat would make anyone's stomach twist and turn in odd ways. Nicademus hoped he had conveyed his sincerity. When approached by a waiter, offering a drink, the Emperor declined and would speak further.
I have been working with my ministers to revitalize the Imperial Diplomatic Services and even the Imperial Mission, an organization that was the child of the Victory Without War program. With the sudden disappearance of Lord Sinistra, I have been working to change the face and outlook of the Empire in the galaxy. Once such services are organized, any promises made at the donation tables will easily be arranged, fulfilled and sent. A gesture of goodwill to the people of Ryloth and the Republic from the Empire you may call it.

People gossip, so do the Banshees. Slaves locked up in the crucible gossip the worst, and they gossip up the most incredible stories. Legends. There are some numbers that are legendary, like the Tusken 6, the purple 1, Gaia, 19 and of course... The Mistress. The legend about 19 is that when they finally got her into a torture cell, the Mistress went in to do her work... for one day. One day only. When she came out at the end of that day, 19 came with her, wearing the collar and she was proclaimed Banshee. The legend said that before her "turn", 19 was a con artist, living off the rich and powerfull by only her charm and quick wit. She either struck a bargain with The Mistress, or even convinced the Mistress to simply ... leave out the torture and the years of training.
19 and 18 entered the Ball.-Herald- Koyi Zitan, President of Victims of Atrocity Charity organisation, and escort. Organiser. "Koyi Zitan" AKA 19 was a large Twilek girl. Some with lack of sensitivity would call her Obese, Fat. Nobody would call her that here. She had a shine about her, a charming and full of life kind of radiation she spread wherever she walked. A girl ready for fun and games. ample bossoms, stilish Anobian dress, jewlery, makeup. She was a large beauty. She was sided by a fit twilek woman, her assistant. Mostly known as "Badaki Fla'tnen" but her real name was 18. She was plastered to her Datapad, because... well, she was the assistant of the ball organiser.
Sure, they have been here all day, oragnising. It is a lot of work to make sure the decorations are in place, the technolgy is working, the cooks are having all they need and they will be ready in time, to make sure everyone knows their place. This took time, and it was only now she could come out of the woodworks to enjoy her own party. Hers, and the Imperial Intelligences.

Bel'fima accepted a drink from the waiter, but merely held it between her hands.
=Bel'fima= The attacks have been quite terrible across the galaxy. Your assistance and good will are even amazing considering the rebuilding of your own world. But Kuat always was a captain of industry. My own people, unfortunately, have never been successful ship builders. Our warrior culture prides itself on individual achievement. Starfighters allow that, but capital ships have never been highly valued. Hopefully our new Clan Council will be able to change that piece of our culture, just as I hope that your own reign will allow a new, grander vision of the Empire.
Meanwhile...
From the balcony at the back of the room, Crom'nen watched as the events organizer entered. He had been curious to meet her. Her background was very... neat. A little too so for his tastes. And now that he saw her, he knew for sure. She was wrong. Her name was wrong. He wished that he could compare an age-regressed image of her to his facial recognition software, but he knew it would draw too much attention. He kept his thoughts out of his face and body posture. This was one of the people his guards knew ahead of time to allow up the stairs to see him without having to check in, as could the Emperor, a specific list of Jedi, and a few others. He turned his head slightly, and spoke to the shadow on his left.
=Crom'nen= Keep an eye on those two.
The shadow did not respond.

Nicademus bowed his head at the compliment from Bel'fima. In my address to the Empire, on the day I proclaimed myself Emperor, I indeed conveyed the notion of a new and grander vision for the Empire. My entire career up until I became the Head of State for the Imperial Remnant was that of a commander of troops, under the watchful eye and orders of Emperors. One of them was my tutor, who taught me the ways of being a true Imperial and a leader gifted with both the experience of the military and art of statecraft. By those experiences, I took up the mantle of ruling the Imperial Remnant and, eventually, that of the Empire. The Emperor then gestures to the two Imperial Knights flanking him.In fact, you can already see for your own eyes at least one change of the Empire. The reinstatement of the noble Imperial Knights, the protectors of the Empire and the production of Jagged Fel's vision for a new Empire, the Fel Empire. When the Knights learned of my ascension, they knew they had a found an Emperor they could obey and protect.

The Imperial Knights were indeed very impressive. Quite a difference from the guards protecting herself and Crom'nen. They were shirtless and carried blunted spears. Yes, they were excellent in hand to hand combat, and as loyal as the Imperial knights, but not nearly as intimidating.
Very impressive, Emperor. I hope that their loyalty is well rewarded, and that justice and honor guide your path, and theirs.

The Emperor hoped for that as well. He had a stained relationship with the Imperial Knights when much of their effort to rebuild was thrown away during the attack on Prakith against remnants of the Order of the Eye. The Knights were still rebuilding from such a great loss during that campaign.
I have no doubt about the Imperial Knights. We have many promising recruits and they have shown great enthusiasm.
Nicademus would glance in the direction of Anya, the newest recruit he had met. A smile was offered to her before the Emperor turned away.
I must ask now, is Crom'nen currently attending the Charity Ball? I would like the privilege of meeting him and conveying the Empire's condolences involving Ryloth to him in person. I believe that would be a good show for the Republic's public to see.

Anya had been keeping watch around them while still keeping eyes front to stay with the Emperor. She, herself, had seen some of the other guards and took time measuring them, seeing how they stood as guards in their own right. No doubt she was the least experienced of all. However, she felt of confidence when she caught Nicademus's gaze and smile. Though she didn't make any response, not even a nod or smile, she was grateful.

With the arm that was covered in the dress, Bel'fima guestured to the end of the room furthest from the stage, to a second floor balcony. There were stairs on either end of the balcony leading to the main floor, with three more Twi'lek guards on each set of stairs, for a total of six honor guards. When the Emperor looked, Crom'nen nodded in respect.
=Bel'fima= Crom'nen is here, but felt that is presence would be a distraction from the plight of our people. He is somewhat... unpopular... these days. Especially among the press. He came in a side entrance to avoid that. He will be one of the keynote speakers this evening, but until then he has remained on the balcony to allow for more... private conversations. I know that he would be pleased to receive you.
She stepped back and smiled warmly, as was her welcoming way. The subtle message would have been unclear to a passerby, but should be quite clear to the Imperials.

Noting the appearance of their host, if only in the technical sense, Aya decided that it would be proper to greet her. A subtle nod & nudge was all it took for her escort to lead the way over to the newly arrived host, Aya trailing along with her arm looped through her escort's arm.
-Aya Miss Zitan, A pleasure to meet you, I'm sure. This is certainly an extravagant little affair, though the holoprojections could have been more tastefully chosen. I have found the rich tend to be made uncomfortable by images of direct suffering. Unless, of course, that was the intention & you plan on tossing out a bit of guilt during the speeches in order to raise donations.
Aya's tone was light & conversational throughout, seemingly indicating that she didn't mind the images. That or she quietly supported the psychological ploy, but was unaffected herself.

Calmly, the Imperial passes through the throngs of the various crowds, moving through the spaces between them towards the balcony's entrance. He calmly approaches those who were guarding the entryway. The Emperor of the Galactic Empire desires to speak with Crom'nen, former Senator of Ryloth.

The guard merely snapped to attention, allowing the Emperor and his guards to pass. The other five guards did the same.

The Emperor nods to the guards and walks up to the balcony. He motions for the Imperial Knights to wait by the balcony's entry before proceeding out from the hallway towards where Crom'nen stood. Nicademus bows his head to Twi'lek.
Crom'nen of Ryloth, it is a pleasure to finally meet you. As Emperor of the Galactic Empire, on behalf of the Empire and her citizens, I wish to give my condolences to the people of Ryloth. We can only hope that your people will strengthen and rebuild swiftly from such savagery.

Koyi Zitan, 19, went through a crowd of greeters, people whom thought this party was great, or the cause was just, or just thenked to be invited. Amongst them were one that at once became a great interest for the Imperial Agent. Namely, the Executive of MandalMine. If she played this right, she could link her together with an other businessman. One named Bateman, and gain an Imperial Claw locked inside the mandalorian Economy.
19 smiled warmly at Aya.-19, AKA Koyi Zitan- "I am happy you attend, miss Aya D'Ordinii. Me and Mr Crom'nen whom planned most of our displays decided not to shield the guests from the horros of what went down on Ryloth. It would be wrong to convay a nice and calm picture of a horrible event. If the turth is guilt tripping, then it should be strong enough to act against, dont you think?"

The Emperor.
That was new.
The tall Vor gathered up his chips with his claws, and pulled them inside his sleeves. The hands came back out empty now, and the creature known as a God stood up, leaving the Roulette table.
He started to slowly walk through the crowds. He was testing the Guards of the Emperor, giving them glances, looking at them, then away, as if he was scouting them out. Or... Prowling.
The only one whom could cause problems here was the Emperor. Not by his own doing, but maybe some of the guests. Many of these people were nobles, with ties to ancestors whom fought the Emperor. One of these may be a young naive ideologist that may want to change the world right here and now. Also, many had lost relatives to all the recent wars fought on this very planet. The Emperor might just attract attention he did not want to.
Also...... Sel wanted to know the man. After all, The Vor God and Sith Lord will have to kill him one day.

Anya stayed close behind the Emperor as they progressed through the crowd. She had noticed the Vor as he moved around keeping eyes on them. She didn't know what he wanted, but it didn't matter. It was her duty to protect the Emperor from any threat, no matter what it was. She only hoped that all the training Gavin had bestowed upon her would hold true in a real confrontation.
As they followed Nicademus towards the balcony, she saw that for a moment, they disappear from the sight of others. It also made a quiet place to assassinate. So many thoughts ran through her mind. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes when they stopped at the entrance of the balcony per the Emperor's order. From there, she watched all she could.
