-Aya Not quiet yet. I'm planning on waiting until after the speeches to decide how much to give.
As Koyi reach out her hand, Aya's escort took a neat half step forward & slightly between the two women, blocking the attempt at contact with her body.
-Escort Ma'am, I must insist that you do not attempt to lay a hand on Lord Aya.
-Aya Peace Sir Knight, I'm certain no harm was meant.
The fact that Aya made no move to actually chide her escort, however, made it clear she would not allow anyone to actually touch her.

This shook Cass, he was not expecting it. But he maintained his composure. How did he know? Of course his lightsaber. He would have to make alterations to its carrying mechanism in the future. He collected himself quickly. And I took great lengths be be sure it wasn't. THis is a night i would rather just blend in.
He motioned over to Koronov. Cass's look and age make the lie believable, especially at a place like this. My uncle wanted me here, I am supposed to learn about politics, or some nonsense. Personally I prefer to just have a bigger gun than the other guy, as from the look of you friend you do as well. But know, uncle says its better to learn, make relationship and diplomacy is the answer. But I guess i may as well meet you. Cassious Haldron, nice to meet you friend.
He then offered his hand. This strategy was 2 fold. One the lie was good, and Cass was a very good liar. And two he planned on monopolizing the Vor's time. Everyone here was here to gather information, and spending too much time with one person, especially a nobody doesn't help accomplish that too well.

He did not respond to being called a jedi, and he named an uncle... not by name. It is true that some jedi accademies play light with the family rules. THe tall vor leaned his head down a notch, just so the other could look into the black pupillsess eyes above the huge beak. Tired but alert eyes. The nosetrills on the beak huffed once.
"Invitation. Show it."
He knew that every security personell in here surely had some hidden weapons. He didnt care, because his allie was the force, and god damnit, that is one good allie to have. Plus, his voice was deep, demanding, dominating. You better do what he says.
Cassious Haldron. The name rang no bells, didnt mean it would not. He will have to consult his datapad. As for being a nobody, if Cass didnt just land this minute, he would know of the fleet in orbit, Strike Force Nemesis Triton. He would also hear of its commander. Seleevan Khar, the Vor. He might also have heard (through tons of media coverage and experts blowing up in analytical panels) of the Vors exploits in this very space. Like this being the third time he visisted this planet. The other two were all assaults along other fleets. Successfull ones. He wasnt really a reptile to be trifled with.

Of course. Forgeries to events like this were not hard to come by, and were often undetectable even to the best eyes. Thats what happens when the best at the job get passed up for political favors, as was par for the course on a world like this.. Cass had found such a forger. He handed it to the Vor.
What is a Vor like yourself doing here on the planet working something like security, when there is that big fleet is in orbit?
Cass chose is words carefully. He had know idea of his parentage, but the effects were still clear. Thrawn had given him tact and i keen eye to read situations, Mon Mothma his calming voice and nature, everyone seemed to like him. These abilities had often made Cass wonder if he should just become a permanent con man. He would be good at it. But no, he knew that wasn't who he was. He may not be a Jedi but he was no crook. Here had had done enough to let the Vor know that CAss knew who he was, but that Cass didn't want to use that information. The weapon on his back should be easily dismissed, there was no reason for anyone to think he wasn't Koronov's nephew. And even a warlord would think twice about accusing a senator. Cass could get out of this, yes. But what was the rush. He was here to make contacts and relationships. This Vor would be a good one to have.
If everything is in order then. I was going to get a drink. I am assuming you can't have one on duty, but i would love to get you something else. Lets chat.

An other clawed hand stuck out from under its sleeve and grabbed hungrily after the invitation. The other hand was still holding (firmly, but not overly agressively) Cass shoulder. Like a father scolding a child rascul. The vor looked over the invitation. Looked original... Looked original. He thought it over, why hadnt this occured to him before? The invitations... they seemed rather.... low key. Not childs toy to forge, but he bet if he threw a rock in undercity he would hit at least one guy and recochet a second whom knew a third guy with the skills to forge this piece of paper.
Why...
He glanced at the fat lady Twilek, talking to the Executive of MandalMines, then turned back to Cass, both his attention and the invitation.
"They wanted to make sure I didnt get funny ideas, like bombing the créme de la créme of Republic society. I guess."
The man DID come in with a lightsaber... or something like a lightsaber. That raised a question .... where. Not the front door. If this place was leaking like a rubber boat filled with hedgehogs, someone was either trying to make him look the fool, or ...
Something was fishy, and it was aint the Rylothian buffet tables.
"Red wine. Expensive. Who was your uncle again?"
He let go of the man, and made a security check. Like a radar that beak turned left and right over the sea of heads, seeing everything, registering every conversation participants. Sel waited for the man to turn his back so he would go to the bar...

Anya nodded as she took in the information given to her. As they continued on, she kept her senses aware, especially for the Vor.

Post by Senator Zarine S'daya on Mar 31, 2015 19:02:32 GMT -8
Cass notices the commotion between the Imperial and the Twilek. He couldn't hear anything but he made a mental note. Either of them could prove profitable in the future. Once he left the party he would have to look them both up and get information. For now he focused on this S'daya and Koronov. Zarine noticed Crom'nen of course among a crowd of other notables, though what caught her interest was something rather closer to home. She nudged Koronov's elbow subtly, before turning to actually look. She couldn't place the fellow off-hand, though undoubtedly he wanted something."Good evening." Seleevan Khar was a figure she knew by reputation and appearance, though she hadn't personally met him before tonight. His interchange with Cass was interesting, and judging by the body language between the two of them, there was more going on than met the eye. But, such was to be expected, even in a gathering as classy and ...selfless, as this one was supposed to be.

After walking for a moment, the Emperor decided to see if he could speak with anyone else from the Republic. To speak to Crom'nen alone would raise some suspicions and he wanted such notions as minimal as possible. His mind recalled the announcement of Senator Koronov of Corellia and Senator S'daya of Yavin IV. Perhaps he should speak with them to pass the time and, in doing so, get to know more from the Republic's most prestigious senators.
Nicademus subtly gestures for the Imperial Knights to follow him as he changed direction among the crowds. Emperor, dressed in his usual Imperial officer attire, made his approach towards the Senators of Corellia and Yavin IV from the right of their group. He gestures for the Imperial Knights to halt before walking forward some more. The Imperial pauses in his stride to bow his head, placing one hand over the right side of his chest as he made a formal greeting to the pair.
Senator Koronov of Corellia and Senator S'daya of Yavin IV, it is a pleasure to meet such esteemed members of the Republic Senate this evening.

Bel'fima surveyed the crowd, paying attention to the faces, conversations, body language. She also knew that she had a mission, really a set of missions with various people. Some of these missions were on behalf of Crom'nen. Some were her trying to do the right thing, with or without his approval. That was, after all, why she stayed with him, to help him be better, whether he liked it or not. After surveying the crowd, she decided to walk up to the clueless Rodian Senator.
Senator Qooda, it is my pleasure to meet you. I am Bel'fima. I was good friends with your Grand Protector and his wife long ago. Tell me, how are they?

As sel was about to disarm the person before him, the Senator of Yavin 4, the sistem of one of his arch enemies (old arch enemies) showed up. With Koronov no less. Making a scene, one that might be dangerous on these people would be highly unfortunate, so he expressed a warning.
"Senators, please heed my warning, this person is armed, and may have snuck in. Seeing as he is most likely wielding one or even two lightsabers, I would suggest holding range, untill I have disarmed him. Should he not comply, I will have to claim drastic measures as my own."
And, out of the ocean of people, like some bearded dude once opened a large water mass in some old fantasy book, out stepped the Emperor himself with his trusty Knight lapdogs, trying to instigate conversation with the persons Seleevan was instigating conversation with, whom in their turn was instigating conversation with whom Khar was allready in instigated conversation with.
The RUDENESS!
"But you, emperror, please... come closer."
There was no motion in that beak, but if he owned lips, they owuld be sneering.

They are doing about as well as can be expected given the circumstances. One of their children was murdered a few years back by a Sith and their eldest has discovered his own jedi abilities. Alas, the jedi have all left Rodia for now, leaving it in the protection of Shiar and Salnor.

Landrin wanders over to the roulette and Sabaac tables and takes a seat at the Sabaac tables. He lays down some credits on the table and looks at the dealer droid.
Deal me in.

Anya stayed back as the Emperor had instructed, but her eyes kept focus on those that were there. One was the Vor that had taken interest in Nicademus the Knights. She had to be ready for anything. Though nothing in her composure from the typical look of being a regular guard, she let the Force flow through her, ready mostly to create a barrier between the Emperor and any who tried to make a move against him in an instant.

The knight didn't bother to verbally reply, instead grinning & one hand on her belt. The grin however wasn't one of timidness or happiness, instead it was something even the earliest hominid would recognize: 'These are my teeth & I can kill you with them'. Her hand, which had the thumb tucked into her belt, causally made the thin scabbard at her side shift slightly, drawing attention to it in a subtle way. Head to toe she was projecting body language that said that if five bull rancors stormed the room at that very instant, she would still be the baddest beasty in the room. Aya on the other hand looked vaguely bored with the entire exchange, as if it happened often enough that she already knew what the two were going to say.-Aya By all means lead the way, it is always nice to meet those active in the galactic community. However, there seems to be a confrontation of some kind happening over there.

Bel'fima noticed the commotion by the Vor, and considered intervening, but though she would see where this went first.
Yes, I heard of the loss of their daughter, but I did not know of the departure of the Jedi. What caused that? Some disturbance caused by Brulax Ruso, no doubt.
Well, whatever the cause, there are not much safer hands than Shiar, Salnor, and Vreegon. They have each saved my life more times than which I would care to account. They were Crom'nen's escorts when I was rescued from slavery.
Such fond memories. Bel'fima, of course, already knew of the Jedi departure, and of Oraltor and Landrin being here on Coruscant. But there was no reason to let him know that.

As if it was nothing Cass get two glasses of wine from the bar tender. He turns to hand one to Khar. We despite everything, I am a man of my word. Your drink sir. Cass' demenor changes and is directed only at the Vor. Not threatening, but no longer friendly. It was a shame that we couldn't become friends. If you can find a weapon you are more than welcome to take it. Otherwise continue on and let me be. I am sure there are actual threats for you to deal with, perhaps a youth spiked the punch. I will be sure to make note of you to my next meeting with the council, i think someone like you may spark their interests. The contraption on his back the held his saber was activated by the Force in a very specific way to let its contents get released. Otherwise safely hidden and tucked away they were. And no, Cass wasn't a jedi, nor did he have any affiliation with that order. But there was no one present here that knew that. And no matter the vor's goals for the moment, Cass was betting jedi interference was not something he desired.

Ludo Karesh, wearing formal Umbaran garb, walks side by side with his escort.
The players have truly been moving their pieces at an astounding rate recently; this game is almost reaching its climax. We shall see what surprises await us this evening. I assure you, my dear, you will find it most entertaining.
Ludo had been playing this game for a long time and had subtly manipulated events in his favor. Rather he had been playing two games simultaneously. Crom’nen and Landrin, his two nemeses, at least one was guaranteed to be here tonight. The other, as far as Ludo knew, still resided on Rodia. Odd though, his source on that planet had reported that Oraltor had left, yet nothing had been mentioned of his upstart young pupil. This scared Ludo in a way he had not experienced in a long time. Wherever that young man traveled, trouble always found him and Ludo no longer knew his exact location. His goals for the evening were twofold. First, his mere presence would hopefully visibly unnerve the Twi’lek. Second, he hoped that he could convince the Rodian Senator that Landrin was a dangerous fugitive from the law and thus turn his place of refuge against him. Oh well, enough time this evening to tweak his plans as events unfolded. He approaches the entrance to the event and offers her his arm.
Senator Ludo Karesh from Tralus and escort.
As he enters, Ludo looks up to the balcony where Crom'nen stands and meets his eyes for about two seconds before entering the room.

You could say that Master Ruso's suicide sparked the jedi leaving the world. Honestly, though, Master Nadon came to Coruscant to help an old friend find his way. Landrin, on the other hand, came for reasons of his own. He suffers from some major guilt that his training has not removed. I hope he finds what he is looking for here. If not, I expect him to move on soon and continue searching.

The Emperor's attention turned to the Vor who spoke directly to him. His posture remained composed while his facial expression remained calm. His hands would slowly clasp behind him as Nicademus spoke back to Seleevan Khar.I will have to politely decline. I see that you are handling security just fine; I don't wanna get in the way of such proceedings. His mentor had warned him of Seleevan Khar, having met the Vor personally on a few occasions. More than half of those being hostile ones. A warning that the Emperor took to heart. He fully intended to keep this reptilian as far from him as possible.
