Although, it's looking like no one can do it this weekend... Except, like, me. So...

*Pouts*
I wish I had seen this earlier, although it wouldn't have mattered as my fiancé and I are both on vacation for a week starting tomorrow, but it looks oh so very fun...
The location sounds fabulously interesting as well; it's a shame that it won't be a persistent RP location beyond this event. All tech failing would throw Stormro off so very badly...xD
Ether way, have lots of fun you guys; maybe down the road Nel and I can get in on some of the future shenanigans regarding this whole spontaneous RP idea.

Quick question for clarification before I post again. I know blasters and lightsabers and electronics and all are useless on this world, but would a slugthrower operate at all?

As long as said slugthrower doesn't require any electronics to function.

If people are interested, extending it could be nice. I know there are quite a few interested parties that are unable to make it this weekend, too.

I'm completely into that. I might have time late tonight, or possibly tomorrow, but it's a great plot idea, and shouldn't have to be rushed.

There's never been a hard cutoff in these things anyway. Expecting people to keep things moving during the week might be unrealistic, but we could definitely promote a second weekend for the same scenario.

I made it! So we have a swamp, a beach, a forest, and lots of red-orange so far. Sorry for the long posting, that'll go away soon. Can't wait to see who we'll run into first.

Just to make sure that I understand correctly, it is the electrical components of technology which are not working correct? Ie, everything else is working, it is just that the power isn't there to make it work. Is that correct, or am I misunderstanding how the scenario is functioning? Nel and I are still on vacation, but I've started trying to figure out our entrance posts now while I have a bunch of free time xD

Anything that runs on electricity or the force goes kaput.

Oops; I had missed the no-Force bit, but that will just make things even more interesting. That will definitely not keep us from getting involved in this; in fact it should be a fun challenge. I was wondering why no Force-sensitives seemed to have gotten in on the idea yet during my quick skimming of the posts thus far xD
For the sake of clarification though, is it that the electrical components of things are what don't work? IE, an internal combustion engine would not work because the electrical system is unable to create a spark or pump fuel into the engine, but if one could introduce the fuel and a non-electrical ignition source it would fire and hypothetically function as usual?
I only ask because I want to be sure that I have a good grasp what the underlying principle is that controls what works and what doesn't.

Chemistry still functions as it normally does.

I only ask because I want to be sure that I have a good grasp what the underlying principle is that controls what works and what doesn't. Stormo. XD You're awesome. I love how in-depth your getting! I'm not sure anyone has figured any of this out, though, IC or OOC. I left it open for interpretation for the purpose of the SpontRP, so we could all figure out the details IC. Maybe it's a planet-wide shield placed underground by natives that renders anything electrical useless! Maybe the planet is alive, and to be able to use tech, you have to ask it nicely. I dunno. We're gonna build as we go! As for your particular question, since we're very far outside the box here already and this is all just for fun, I'd say introducing the fuel and a non-electrical ignition source works in theory outside this ridiculous planet, but inside this particular RP? Hmm. I'm not sure. I'm gonna leave that up to you. We're all still in the beginning here, most people haven't even left their ship area yet. Anything could happen! I think it's more fun, personally, if nothing works no matter how many logical solutions we throw at it. At least for the beginning. Once people start moving and getting together and exploring (what you find is totally up to you!), then we can start figuring things out! But yes, for now? No Force, at all. It's like it's not there. You remember how to reach for it, but you can't because there's nothing to reach for. And anything electrical/techy/ships/blasters/lightsabers/etc? Dead. Kaput. Goose-egg. Nada. Nothing. Like Bloodshot said, simple chemical reactions still work. For now.
