*Dr. Rollins seemed genuinely shocked and concerned at how long it had been since Eva last ate, saying,* "Oh dear," *before moving to the corner of the lab that was visibly a jury-rigged kitchen area.* "Yes, you very much could use something."
"Cheesy noodles!" *suggested Gracie, starting to follow after him.
But he shook his head and replied,* "She needs a little more sustenance than that. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if your obsession with that meal is a programmed routine or typical childlike behavior..."
*Gracie stopped in her tracks and frowned.* "But they're yummy..."
*It only took a few minutes for the doctor to provide a small balanced meal for the girl, as well as a glass of water. As he offered both to her, he said,* "I'm sure they'll be here any moment but I hope this will do until you can be better taken care of."

*Eva raised an eyebrow curiously when Gracie mentioned that cheesy noodles tasted good. This raised a question in Eva's mind, could Gracie actually eat? She didn't have long to dwell on the question before Dr. Rollins set some food and water in front of her.* "Thank you."
*She didn't realize how hungry she really was until she began to eat. Insinct almost took over amd she shoved more food then she could possibly swallow at one time. Eva choked some before grabbing the water. Once her throat was clear, she gave a sheepish grin as her face turned red in embarrassment.* "Sorry. I should probably eat slower." *She eat for a minute in silence. There were so many questions, but she had to pick the right ones. Most of them were about Gracie and very few about what actually needed to be asked. She pushed those thoughts aside and stuck to the basics.* "So, exactly who is coming to help me?"

*Dr. Rollins didn't seem to mind Eva's ravenous behavior, even seemed to understand it, though agreed when she admitted she should eat slower. He let her eat in peace and made sure Gracie didn't bother her until she had finished and had asked who was coming to see them. With impeccable timing, a knock at the door was heard and Dr. Rollins made to answer it...*

*At the door was a Caamasi Jedi, whose only blemish was a missing left forearm. He greeted the doctor and was ushered inside, before being introduced to the girl known as Eva. Pressing his left hand against his chest and giving a bow, the Caamasi said,* "Pleasure to meet you, Eva, I am Master A'Kles. I'm here to help you in any way I can."

*Eva leaned forward in her seat, curious to see who was here. There, standing at the door, was a Caamasi. She had only met one before in her life. Eva stood and gave a slight bow.* "Pleasure to meet you Master A'kles. Thank you for helping." *She hesitated for a moment. She wasn't sure how much Dr. Rollins told the Jedi Master, she would soon find out though.* "I just need to know what happened to my village. See if anyone, or anything is left, to go home to."

*Gracie's first instinct when the new person arrived was to look him over thoroughly, recognizing him but not actually familiar with him. She ignored the exchange between the Caamasi and the humans—though filed it away at the back of her mind—as she came around to his left side, noticing a distinct lack of a forearm and pointing at it.* "Where's your arm?"
"Gracie!" *scolded her father, reaching forward and pulling his daughter away from the Master with one arm, the other lowering her hand. Looking up at the Caamasi, he added,* "Apologies, Master, she meant no offense."

*Yleqos took no offense to the child's curiosity, only nodding at the doctor's apology and saying,* "It's quite alright." *Looking at Gracie, he added,* "It's a story for another time, young one." *He then returned his attention to Eva.* "Let's see, Taanab, was it? What was the name of your village?"

*As soon as Gracie said it, Eva's eyes darted quickly to the Jedi Masters missing arm then away again. She felt slightly embarrassed for doing so. She gave a nod when he asked if she was from Taanab.* "I'm from Tuan village. There's not a lot of us there. Maybe a little over a hundred or so."

"Tuan Village," *Yleqos repeated before spotting a nearby terminal. Doctor Rollins invited him to help himself as the Caamasi made his way over, using his sole hand to tap out the necessary information. He did this only somewhat clumsily, having not yet fully adjusted to use of a single hand but nor did he seem completely inept at it.
The information he sought came up. He scanned it before frowning and sighing. Turning to face the girl, he reported,* "I'm sorry, but it seems the village has been deserted, some of its few buildings burned. There's no information on any survivors." *He bowed his head.* "I regret having to inform you of this..."

*Eva watched the Jedi Master with both building anticipation and fear. She wanted to know, needed to know, but she dreaded the answer. Her entire body tensed as Master A'kles read off his findings from a computer terminal. Several seconds passed by before Eva could even find her voice and when she did, it was much higher pitched then normal.* "O..okay. Th..thank you."
*She slowly sank into the chair behind her. The full impact of the news was starting to sink in. Sure she knew that she lost everything before this, but there was still a little hope left before now. Tears pricked at the edges of her eyes and she brought her knees up to her chest. Everything was gone, her home and her family, all of it. Now she was completely lost and unsure what to do or where to go.*

*Yleqos sighed, hating to be the bearer of bad news in this situation. To that end, he even felt a slight pang of guilt when his first thought was to point out her Force-sensitivity and offer her a new home here... But that felt like giving up too soon. Especially when he knew very little about this girl, or her history; how could he write off something as lost to fate when all he knew about her was her name and village of origin?
The Caamasi took a step forward, gently resting his single hand on the girl's shoulder.* "If you would like," *he said,* "I will take you to Taanab, where we can search for any trace of your family."

*Eva looked up at the Jedi when he placed his hand on her shoulder. She wiped away some of the forming tears and gave him a hopeful look.* "W...we could? That would...thank you."
*She paused for a moment, trying to run all possibilities through her head.* "What if we don't find anything?"

*The offer was a small gesture, perhaps fruitless, but it seemed to do just enough to give the girl some hope. Hope tempered by realism, as she asked what they would do if they found nothing. Yleqos again first thought he would offer her a new home and training here, but instead he asked,* "Do you have any other family elsewhere?"

"Other family?" *Eva sank back into the chair. The question made her pause for a few moments. She couldn't remember any other family members. At least her parents never spoke of any.* "No...I don't think so. My parents never mentioned anyone living elsewhere. My grandparents and other close family members lived in the same village. So....I guess...no."

*No other known family... That settled it then.* "Then I would offer you the choice to live here at the base, and learn the ways of the Jedi. If we find no trace of your family."

*Yleqos offer caught Eva off guard for a second. She never thought about staying here, or learning the ways of Jedi. The thought of it was much better then having no plan at all like before. That was if there was no family left for her. She gave a nod and looked up at the Jedi.* "Okay. Thank you. I would be glad to stay. Only if we don't find anyone, that is."

*The Caamasi nodded, somewhat relieved himself that she seemed to find some small comfort in the notion of remaining at the Base and training to become a Jedi. Of course, at least for her sake, he hoped to find some of her surviving family, but that would take investigations. Gesturing towards the door, he asked,* "Shall we leave at once, then? Or would you prefer to rest first?"

*Eva had to admit that she was kinda tired after everything, but sleep was the last thing on her mind right now. She needed to know what happened and finally put to rest all her questions. Letting out a slow breath, she stood up and shook her head.* "I would like to go now. The not knowing would make it too hard to sleep anyway."

*She had impressive determination, despite the fatigue the Caamasi sensed within her. With a nod of understanding, he gestured for the door, saying,* "Let us be on our way then. I'll inform the Council myself before we depart." *Turning towards the Rollins family, he gave them a bow.* "Thank you for looking after her until now. Just leave things to me." *And with that, he departed the Tech Labs as soon as Eva was ready.*

*Gracie waited impatiently as Eva talked to the Master, bouncing back and forth on her heels until they announced they were leaving. She gasped, then pouted, upset that the furry Master was taking away a new friend so soon. She knew it was fruitless however, understanding how important this was to Eva, so instead she only ran forward and hugged the girl.* "Bye Eva!"
"Gracie!" *exclaimed her father.* "Sorry, child. I hope you find what you are looking for. And it was nothing," *he told the Caamasi, nodding to him.*
