The Senate of Taris has been established ever since its reconstruction. Established in the Upper City of Taris, the Senate Building is rather lavish and fanciful, attracting much tourist and commoner attention.
It is here that Senators draft and debate legislations relating to Tarisian society and the planet's place in the galaxy. The public is only allowed access to the front lobby and the garden walkways. There is a hangar reserved for only members of the Senate and foreign dignitaries to land or leave, a Chamber for the Senators to gather and discuss their work, and the Governor themselves have a private office here where they can summon individuals or small groups into their office for private conversation.

Many years ago Taris was the capitol of what was called the Tarisian Empire. The empire was imperial in nature having nearly every senior position within the empire overseen by a member of the Tarkin family. The emperor, Lord Raven, was a distant relative of Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. The Tarisian Empire controlled a sizeable portion of the Outer Rim and was heavily supported by Cygnus Tarkin, the patriarch of the Tarkins during that time. After over a decade of well established rule over its sector, internal turmoil from within the Tarkin family and with the assassination of Lord Raven, the Tarisian Empire dissolved. In the decades since, Taris has chosen democracy and has managed to remain neutral in the conflicts of the galaxy. The Tarisian Senate has come to embrace its independence... that is until recently. With the establishment and expansionist attitude of the First Order in their own region of space more and more of the very same senators who pledged independence are now second guessing their isolationist stance. With news of Dantooine reaching Taris and rumors of the execution of the Agamarian Council on Agamar, a special committee has been formed to discuss the rise of the First Order and to seek a solution...
=Senator Dunn= This committee was formed several weeks ago we have heard intelligence reports, debated for hours on end AND have yet to decide what we will do about the First Order! Frankly... I vote to resist their expansion! Our fathers acted in the best interest of Taris when they assassinated Lord Raven! If bold action is required again THEN I will proudly step forward! I put forward a motion to advise our military to prepare for war and adjourn this committee!
Senator Dunn's rant is met with exactly two claps of approval from Senator Veer and Senator Dorn, both senators represent districts in the lower city and were only asked to join the committee to appear inclusive. Without enough support the motion fails. Another senator, Senator Poole, from one of the districts within the Upper City rose up to address the committee.
=Senator Poole= Senator Dunn, Senator Veer and Senator Dorn... with all do respect... If you are too tired to sit through the entirety of this most important debate, then you know where the exits are. Taris is no longer the wealthy trade hub that it once was. Might I remind the senators that under the rule of Lord Raven our planet only saw stability, prosperity and protection... in fact in our planet's history we had never experienced such a great period... not since before we were the trading hub of this sector in the times before Revan and Malak. The assassination of Lord Raven was a foolish mistake and I pray everyday that mistake does not strike at us in vengeance. We must be practical, the First Order is on the rise and is expanding in this region. I propose that we vote to meet them at the table of peace. Our economy is unstable their is unrest in the Lower City, the gangs there have grown in influence... it is even rumored that the Hidden Beks now own three to four senators! The eyes of the committee turn to Senators Dunn,Veer and Dorn. I suggest we offer the First Order a trade deal. Taris needs a new trading partner, the new funds from taxes can then be used to clean our cities and settle our disputes. All while preserving our way of life... seeking war is not a plausible solution. We do not have the military capability to stand against the First Order and if they were to ever set their eyes upon our world there is little we could do to stop them. We could call for help, but eventually Taris will be caught in the crossfire and we will be the first to be executed. If we become neutral trading partners with the First Order they will have no reason to make war with us. I put forth a motion to seek a trade deal with the First Order, that I myself will negotiate.
It was clear that Senator Poole's practical solution was the most popular solution the committee had heard in days. With a vote, Senator Poole's plan was approved in the hours and a emergency session was called upon by the newly elected prime minister of Taris Nadal Swoon. Within the committee Senator Poole advocated that he should be the one to head up the negotiations on behalf of the Tarisian Senate, but Senators Dorn, Veer, and Dunn rallied the senators within the districts of the Lower City to block Senator Poole from the entire deal. Within two days of the special session of the senate a team of negotiators were assembled led by Senator Dunn. The fate of Taris now rested in the hands of Senator Dunn... or does it?

The Tarisian Senate sparred no expense at accommodating the trade negotiations. Four Lancer-Class Frigates were purchased, each will full compliments of security personnel. It was felt necessary to have a rapid response team available, in case of violence. Security checkpoints with highly trained screeners were also put in place. A senate committee chamber was repurposed into the primary meeting room for the trade deal with two private joining rooms made available for each side to utilize so that they could meeting among themselves privately.
The day had finally come... In the hours leading up to the early meeting, set by the two factions, the media had began to stakeout their ideal positions. The members of the press were allowed access to the building, but restricted to the outside corridors leading to the chamber. With the gang war raging on in the lower cities most of the planet's attention was diverted to the reports on the violence instead of the developing trade deal with the First Order. With the gang war soon becoming the most violent and destructive gang war to ever hit Taris. Seeing the opportunity to aid his master's plan, Senator Ramoon Poole's surrogates in the media begin putting out the idea of seeking military aid from the First Order since Admiral Tarkin is already visiting and has a impressive warship in orbit. The Tarisian Senate, however, has mixed opinions on having the First Order aid Taris on a internal matter. When asked about seeking military aid the highly unpopular Prime Minister Nadal Swoon had this to say, "Absolutely not! The violence in the lower cities is a matter that is being monitored and if it is determined intervention is necessary the senate will act. This is a internal matter that does not and will not require the aid of the First Order.". The statement was immediately criticized as evidence that the prime minister was either unable or unwilling to take action, as the Tarisian military had yet to be dispatched. Minutes before Admiral Tarkin arrived at the chamber, Senator Dunn, the special envoy selected to represent the senate in the trade deal went against his aides and advisors warnings and approached the press area in the corridor outside the chamber to accept questions. Turning to the most attractive female reporter, Senator Dunn nods in a sign of approval to allow the reporter to ask her question. "Senator Dunn, what are your thoughts on the reports of your colleagues deaths in the lower city? Will this mean you will lose the majority in the senate?". The senator replied, "I'll be honest... you're a very beautiful woman. I don't know... I like... What a excellent question... I, uh... um... They will be missed and I'm sure they can be replaced with other like minded representatives. I'm not worried. Next question! Jose! What's your question buddy?!?" The male reporter glared slightly as his name was not, in fact, Jose. "Senator Dunn, what are your thoughts on Prime Minister Swoon's statement earlier this morning? Why hasn't the military intervened? Also, has the senate instructed you to seek a military aid package while in the negotiations?". The senator yells out, "Look folks! I said it once and I'll say it again! Swoon is weak! He's a baby! With very very small hands... like a child. The man is a pacifist. So no, I don't approve of the statement from earlier and I'll be honest... he hasn't acted because he's a scared baby!" Suddenly, Zuka emerges from the mob of reporters and takes a place next to Senator Dunn. "For someone as loquacious as you are... I expected you to be taller. Ladies and gentlemen of the press and citizens of Taris. I am troubled to hear of the violence erupting below us all today. If your leaders seek military aid to combat the vile gangs from below, then all they need do is ask. I have come as Taris' savior, not its destructor. Thank you." With that Zuka walked into the chamber followed by the speechless senator...

Zuka sat patiently and quietly across from the large Tarisian delegation, as he sat across from the bunch he concentrated so he could read their thoughts. The barriers of each of their minds were none existent, especially that of Senator Dunn. The group of Tarisians consisted mostly of business leaders, advisors, and aides close to Senator Dunn; all together there were about 25 to 30 of them. It was quite a sight as the Tarisian side of the large negotiation table was crowded, but on the other side, and on the First Order's side only Zuka occupied it. The room was mostly silent as Zuka read the busy minds of his adversaries, they each whispered and glared at Zuka like a typical socially retarded bureaucrat scheming for an advantage. Suddenly, Senator Dunn rises from his seat and scolds at Zuka, "I'm a very, very, very busy man and we all really, really are tired of waiting for the rest of your people to arrive. So can you tell them to hurry it up???" Zuka stared for a moment and then rose up, "I do not require a multitude of useless fools to aid me! You want to negotiate? Start negotiating!" Senator Dunn and his staffers were taken aback that Zuka had raised his voice, no one, not in many years actually raised their voice to the senator. Zuka returned to his seat and helped himself to the water placed in the center of the table. Instead of using his arms and hands to lift and pour the pitcher and glass he used his powers of telekinesis, this was done for two reasons intimidation and the fact that it was easier. It worked, as the pitcher of water lifted off the table and the closest glass glided into position underneath, the senator and all his people couldn't help but watch in fear as they soon realized their adversary was more powerful than they first thought. "Uh...Um...", "Words, sentences...ideas...use them senator... your people are depending on you.", " Um... right, well Taris is primarily a manufacturing world, industrial, but we lack the raw material to produce on our own...so we're dependent on a steady flow of raw goods and a market to sell to.... We specialize in tech items, electronics." The senator's words were slowed it soon became clear that the admiral was using a mind trick to get the senator to cooperate. A senior advisor soon rose up in protest, but was immediately thrust back into his seat and was frozen in his place. "Fine, the First Order will supply Taris with the material it needs to become productive once more...But in exchange we will require a permanent presence in this system and on this world. A garrison will be stationed here on Taris, this garrison will be commanded by me. I will be granted access to your senate and my forces will have the right to protect our interests here. You all will support this deal, in fact, it was your idea. You will then later find that it will be better that Taris completely submit to the First Order and willing join the Imperium. Each of you... in the next few days after this trade deal is ratified will call for the resignation of Prime Minister Swoon and ask Senator Ramoon Poole to direct your senate as Prime Minister! Now go!" The crowded room was all completely mesmerized as Zuka used his powers to plant his will upon them. Each of them being of weak minds could not resist his dark will. Zuka then released them all and allowed them to leave, Senator Dunn, still feeling sluggish shook it off as he exited the chamber. As the senator exited the chamber he was immediately hounded by the media. "Senator Dunn! Senator Dunn! Has a deal been reached?!", "Actually, yes! Look, I told you these guys were push overs! I got us all a VERY, VERY, NICE deal. I can't go into exact details seeing as the smaller technical parts need to be addressed, but both Taris and the First Order will be benefitting a great deal."" Well what will the First Order be getting?""The Imperials want, of course, a percentage of goods that are manufactured and sold here or elsewhere... and a small facility that they can use to oversee their interests here, like a warehouse or something. I got to go, thank you." The senator vanished into a team of security personnel, while Zuka remained in the chamber sipping his water. "Oh Taris... you will soon be Tarkin once more..."

Once the scene had died down outside of the chamber Zuka secretly made his way to a secret meeting with Prime Minister Swoon. Zuka sat before the young prime minister, accompanied by Senator Ramoon Poole, Zuka's ally within the Tarisian government. "I am surprised that you accepted my invitation on such short notice, thank you.", "I was already in the building and the senator felt it necessary. What do you need from me?" Zuka could sense the young man's intimidation, his unease. "I know what you are planning, you're trade deal will be the end of my time in this office. I will be vetoing the deal and I have come to the decision that the First Order is not the best avenue for Taris to go..." Senator Poole interrupts, "With all do respect, you are committing political suicide. The deal is highly popular... have you even seen your own approval numbers? Don't be on the wrong side of history Nadal.". The prime minister rebuttals, "I am on the right side, it is you all who have manipulated the people, I will fight you!". Having heard enough Zuka speaks up, "Haven't you noticed the change of the wind? Even someone as naïve as you should have seen this coming. This world belongs to me! It is Imperial! It is Tarkin!" Zuka rises from his seat."Veto the trade deal and I will kill you and your family myself. Your allies in the senate are dead and replaced with my own surrogates! You played the game and lost, because you are weak... now step aside with your dignity and life still intact. Senator Poole, here tells me he has the numbers to override your veto... your threats are meaningless." Zuka and Senator Poole exit the office with nothing left to say.
Early the next day Senator Donald Dunn addresses the Tarisian Senate, with the Prime Minister presiding and Admiral Tarkin as a special guest. "I come before you all today more enlightened than before! I had the UGE pleasure and honor of representing this body at the negotiations table. I am pleased to present to the senate that a formal trade deal along with a binding military resolution has been made! The deal will allow raw materials from worlds within the First Order to be sent to Taris, where we will utilize our superior industrial might to finalize goods to be sold in the galactic market. The First Order will receive 30 percent off the top of goods sold. The First Order will facilitate in revitalizing our once pristine ocean, so that one day Taris will have self-sustaining food source. The First Order will provide aqua scrubbers and atmospheric scrubbers that will be used to clean our planet's pollution, improving the lives of Tarisians everywhere. All the First Order requires is our world's neutrality in galactic politics and a embassy so that their interests can be protected. This embassy shall also include a sizeable garrison from the Imperial Legion, their purpose will be to protect Taris if needed and to protect their investments within our system. The military aid resolution will allow imperial assets to assist us as we require them, their jurisdiction is limited to their own embassy and the new trade route through our system. I'll tell yah folks... this guy...Dunn points to the admiral who is seated in the vip gallery. That guy is a great man! It was my honor to have worked with him to make this GREAT deal! " With Senator Dunn's report complete the Prime Minister was about to step up, but was blocked by Senator Poole and his aides as he approached the podium. "My fellow senators... as senate leader we will all begin the votes to ratify The Trade and Military Alliance Pact or Senate Bill 11.28. A straight up yae or nay are the options. Voting yae will approve the bill in its entirety and a vote of nay will disapprove of the entire piece of legislation. Voting will end in two minutes." The Prime Minister managed to get close enough to address to Senator Poole, but Poole shook his head and aggressively told the prime minister that if he chose to veto the bill that at that time he could speak before the senate. With Lord Valinor's help, majority of the senate would soon be voting in support of the bill. The senators assassinated were quickly replaced by political allies of Senator Ramoon Poole and Admiral Tarkin. With voting complete the bill is passed with only a handful of senators voting against the measure. Prime Minister Swoon then steps up to address the senate... "Representatives of Taris, your voices have been heard, but I cannot in good conscience support this piece of legislation. I herby enact my power of veto upon this piece of legislation. Thank you." All at once the senate erupts in a massive roar of protest, Zuka sits in silence, watching the senate react just as he had planned. The prime minister just killed his career and himself. Senator Dunn and Senator Poole both approach the podium and share the space calling for order. Senator Dunn begins... "Order, Order, Order! It is within your power to veto, but it is also our right to obey the will of the people! I call forth a vote to override your veto! Do I have a second?!?!" The words of the senator echo throughout the massive chamber even with all the loud yells of protest. Several senators all at once second the motion to override the veto and after a second round of voting the prime minister's veto was overridden. Senator then continues, "It is clear that new leadership is needed! Nadal Swoon no longer has the best interest of Taris! I hereby put forth a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Swoon! Do I hear a second?!?!" Immediately, several senators second the motion and within minutes Nadal Swoon was voted out of his position. Hours later and with much political maneuvering, Senator Ramoon Poole was voted in and accepted as Taris' new Prime Minister.

Within hours after being sworn in as prime minister of Taris Ramoon Poole signs Senate Bill 11.28 which establishes the trade alliance and limited military alliance between Taris and the First Order. The newly installed prime minister makes an address to the citizens of Taris live from his office. My fellow citizens, your representatives within the senate have heard your voices. Former prime minister Swoon's administration was either unwilling or unable to truly grasp the difficult times everyone is facing now, but not I. I see what plagues our world, the economy, gang violence, pollution. My first act as your new prime minister I signed and solidified Taris' future with the First Order. As part of the deal, Taris will allow a number of imperial forces to be garrisoned here, these imperial forces are here for two purposes. First, to protect their interests and second, to offer aid when needed. I feel that it is as good a time as any to accept imperial aid. The violence in the lower and under city has been catastrophic and too many families have been affected. As of this moment I am authorizing Admiral Zuka Zammanee Tarkin and his forces to begin conducting raids against the vile gangs that are destroying our world from within. No longer will gangs hold influence over our world, I am also calling upon the senate to draft a anti-gang bill with teeth, so that membership to ANY gang is an offense punishable by death! Thank you and goodnight."

* Thrakk strides into the Senate Chambers with dutiful purpose followed by his personal squad of troopers. He does not look at any of the Senators that stared at him, he keeps his eyes on Zuka who was standing next to the new prime minister. Thrakk knew what he was doing would cement any doubts the Tarisian Senate may have, for now they could truly see that the First Order was here, and ready. Thrakk walks up on to the speaking platform, his men standing in formation in front of it. Thrakk looks out over the Senators, then gives a curt nod to the Prime Minister. *

Zuka turns to Lord Valinor, but Prime Minister Poole speaks, "Honorable Lord Thrakk Valinor! Thank both you and Admiral Tarkin for your quick action. As stated earlier, I along with this body or representatives fully authorize your military assistance. What little military assets Taris has will supplement your forces and assist in the operations. The vile swoop gangs of Taris will be no more!" A great amount of applause filled the chamber, but what only Prime Minister Poole, Admiral Tarkin, and Lord Valinor knew was that the true purpose of the operation was to eliminate all undesirables on Taris, not only the criminal elements, but the poor, sick and elderly. Taris' small military would unknowingly be aiding in this genocide by blocking and sealing off the lower cities from access to the upper cities. Once complete, this operation would go down in history as potentially the most extreme and well calculated purge since Order 66 was executed. After several minutes of meet and greets with military leaders that were present as well as political allies in the senate, Zuka closes in toward Lord Valinor. The two make their way to a small waiting area away from view of everyone. "You have full authority over my Shadow Guard and commando units. I will return to orbit and ensure no ships escape while you begin the purge. Remember, the gangs are priority, the sick, elderly, and poor are secondary. Try not to allow members of the Tarisian military witness your operations, we can't risk them developing sympathy and turning against our efforts. In the following weeks the prime minister will test out the idea of Taris completely joining the First Order. We okay?"

* Thrakk looks around after Zuka had finished speaking to make sure no prying eyes or ears where upon them then speaks to Zuka, but in a tone that it not just professional but that also has a slight tone of friendship behind. For Thrakk now fully trusted the Admiral and considered him his closest ally and friend, he knew they had now started on a path to greatness and none would stand in their way. Thrakk then speaks to Zuka *
" I will finish what we started here, Taris will be yours once again Zuka. But ....."
* Thrakk stop mid-sentence as he knew that what he was about to ask Zuka would truly show that he needed the Admiral, something the Imperial Hand did not show often *
" We are good my friend but i have a favor to ask, There is an Imperial Knight in the First Order named Aeryn Morningstar. He has a holocron of mine that I need back. I cannot see to this personally as the Supreme Commander knows of my shared past with him and fears that if I act against him it will start an inner conflict in the First Order. Can you lend your expertise to this problem ? "

Zuka was honored that Thrakk would trust him enough to share this with him. Zuka would find a way to help Thrakk, but more intel was needed..." You honor me, what is the significance of this holocron and why does this knight not return what is not his? You are the Imperial Hand... you operate outside the bounds of the military hierarchy, if you command him to do something and he does not comply then this knight is not only dishonoring you, but his station within the order. I will, of course, help you, but I require more information. Who is this person, where are they, details, details, details."

* Thrakk hands Zuka a data pad with all the details he needed and then speaks to his comrade and friend *
" The holocron I seek was of my own creation, when i ascended and became a Dark Lord of the Sith. The holocron holds the key to my survival Zuka, with it i can be rid of the shackles of the curse that plagues me and be restored to my full power. Without it I will soon succumb to the chaos powers that keep me alive and we both knows what happens then. I cannot get it myself for Aeryn was once my apprentice and knows how to turn the holocron against me....what i need to survive could also be my own demise. Aeryn Morningstar is currently on Muunilist, my intel says that he is at the Tower of the Imperial Knights, currently taken off of active duty. "

Zuka listened patiently and contemplated, honestly Zuka couldn't help but wonder if he could take the holocron for himself... as a means of controlling Lord Valinor. The thought was immediately dismissed, as the risks outweighed the rewards of such a move, plus Zuka respected Lord Valinor too much to do such a thing. Once Thrakk finished speaking, Zuka removed his data pad from the inner pocket of his suit and tapped out a message to ready his shuttle. "I will leave immediately then, Prime Minister Poole knows what is expected of him in the coming weeks, Commander Remus has already taken command of Infernums Fury in orbit and can assist you in the purging of the lower and under cities. Would you mind sending me all your data on your apprentice? I'd like to study him before I meet him."Zuka handed Thrakk the data pad with the updates from the operations in the city below. In minutes Zuka was onboard his shuttle and on his way to rendezvous with his old ship the Equinox in orbit.

From the bridge of Infernums Fury Commander Remus replied as he oversaw the deployments.Lord Valinor, I have ordered the full deployment of your Militis and at ready Storm Troopers will be accompanying them. I must say though, air support will be minimum as the Tarisian military is reluctant to have foreign star fighters seen over Taris... also, the TIE Fighters can't fly in the lower cities. The Tarisian military has made available their speeders though. Soon after replying the Infernum Militis along with several battalions of Storm Troopers began shipping off the massive star destroyer and making their way to the multiple assembly areas to begin the operations.

She was not permitted to speak, but the senate allowed a representative of the Humanitarian fleet to be present to listen to how they planned on dealing with the crises. The Grand Moff appointed Annelise to this task. She listened to the debates. It didn't take long for her to realize that nothing was going to come from this. The politicians here were well entrenched, and were not that concerned with many of those in the under city.

She was impressed by some of the representation, or well a few. These few genuinely seemed concerned about the people of the lower levels. She set up private meetings with them to discuss strategy and leverage on the more difficult representatives. Deep down, she was reminded again how easily corruptible people were. It made her think back to Standash's rise in the Republic. The young, then senator was able to twist that corruption and pull the rug out from all of them. It did make here think about those good people that were caught in the wash out. They were unfortunate collateral damage. Demetri came to mind. She hadn't seen ore heard much of him in the years past.

The struggles of the representative system here really frustrated the aide. She wanted to believe that representation could work, she held out more hope still then her younger boss. The infighting here was small in scale but still struggled to make things happen. This made the First Order look better, they were heroes for breaking through the gridlock and making things happen.

The twins made their way to the massive edifice. The pair stood just looking at the building for some time -Rhiannon- "Ko do e' dek?" Her sister simply shrugged before adding -Aranrhod- "Ke ge eh." And she indeed did. Her sister following after her, they both began to explore. And they continued to speak amongst themselves -Rhiannon- "Ko dek s'mahr?" Her sister stopped cold answering with chill -Aranrhod- "Nah mah ko Rhiannon. Nah mah ko." Head shaking -Aranrhod- "Ki dek. Ki...."

The pair, having wandered the Senate for a time left. Both girls were quite but minds ran a mile a minute. Things were being lain before them clear and true. Truth. Troubling that. Rhiannon casually asked -Rhiannon- "Ko ma sa'mahr?" And her sister came back with a question of her own -Aranrhod- "Svhau?" To which Rhiannon answered enthusiastically with but a word -Rhiannon- "Ku!!!" And the other fast responded -Aranrhod- "Ku.... Svhau mjet!" Waltzing from the building the pair sung jovially -Aranrhod and Rhiannon- "Svhua mjet!!! Svhua mjet!!! Svhua mjet!!!" Over and over and over again. Right . You get it
